Brutal Classic Intense

Don't let the low rating fool you. This is a very good, bone-dry masculine fragrance with good performance after a little maceration. It does bring to mind Eastern European men. Brut-like but without the sweet notes. I'd place scent in the Denim and Patrick Fragrances of Ireland neighborhood, and owning all would not be redundant. It's difficult to find bottles for sale in the U.S. but sellers do pop up from time to time and that's how I acquired mine. The prices are reasonable. Recommend.

Getting Aramis vibes, although this is better. Layers great with adp Essenza. This is a winner.

Greetings everyone, Well I have to be honest - this is definitely a different era. Oakmoss, citrus, some jasmin, some woody notes. And for me personally carnation. It is an old School fragrance, which is bitter sweet. Reminds me the stuff my grandfather used to wear. For me, in my mid-30s this is does not seem as harsh as it used to be. Frankly speaking I can appreciate this. I don't see it as an office scent, not for me personally. Not a sports fragrance either - it's not a light one. For me personally it could be a weekend getaway type of fragrance - free, fierce and full of freedom. I bought it as an experiment - i was looking for something similar to Quorum, and I did, however in a different way. Same vibe, different notes. This stuff is a little gem of sorts. Not sure if this is a lady-magnet of sorts, very unlikely, but i would wear it happily for myself as its not meant to be liked by everyone. Not nowadays at least. Longevity and Projection is medium. It's not worse than any of those old PR or Chanel Antaeus and Kouros stuff. 10 years ago ago I would have thrown it away as a smelly sock. Now - I find it interesting enough and even wearable on some occasions. Spray this and become an ultimate lumber jack - uncle - dad combo during family dinners. Bold, Masculine and Manly. Fall, Winter, Early spring and Weekends.

According to Parfumo ́s and La Rive ́s home page the description somewhat differs. It would be appreciated if Fragrantica kindly made a slight correction of the scent pyramid. Top Notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Lavender, Neroli. Heart Notes: Geranium, Carnation, Jasmine, Lavender. Base Notes: Amber, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Musk, Vetiver, Sandalwood. This is really a bargain if you are looking for an old time barbershop frag in line with PR, OS, Aquavera etc. Its sweetly herbaceous masculine for sure, and radiates well. Also blends well with Beverly hills red for a stronger effect. If so, dont necessary apply on chin or neck, instead under the clothes for a longer and smoother development. Ps. I ́ve seen here and there, it ́s been compared to Brut, but this is by far a much better scent IMO.

This is really beautiful and despite the price, doesn’t smell cheap at all. The name doesn't really mesh because it’s far from a brutal experience - it’s actually very gentlemanly, well-blended, delicate, and decent. But don't expect a modern style scent - this is from another, more classic, time. Excellent stuff - I’m going to have to buy a back-up bottle. The atomizer releases a lot of juice so you’ll probably go through it fast. It would be cool if they released an EdP version and charged double, or even triple. That would still be great value. I can’t pick out individual notes, it’s just an old school aromatic fougere, but more on the warm/spicy side rather than the fresh/green. Well done Poland 👍🏽

Bought it for 16 PLN at the Rossmann in Poland, after trying it from a blotter. Really nice scent, the opening is very green and oldschool/barbershop'y (great for the fans of oldschool scents, but can be off-putting for the untrained nose). And it dries up very nicely, the floral part and spices becomes more noticeable with the oakmoss and woody notes dominating. The longevity is 5-6 hours with not a very big projection and sillage, but still a very lovely scent for the price.

When I smelt this for the first time i fell in love with it, it smell's like guerlain heritage, but a little bit cheaper with similar performance on my skin, for a 3-5€ its 100% worth it. I bought this today and Im still testing this smell, in my opinion this is great fragrance for all year around, but for winter it might be too weak

If you love your old school colognes - you just have to try it. You won't be disappointed. I always have a bottle of this oldie in my collection. EDT is a beastly performing fragrance, a grassy classic for a gentleman.

Classic Polish macho scent. Clearly inspired by Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, same vibe. Performance is not great, but the price compensates for the lack of longevity. Spray it on clothes, overspray, be happy.

#69 review I belive that is a fragrance of your dad in the 80s and 90s from eastern europe. Parameters are fine and smell is really clasic and old school. It is very vetiver. You need to try it.

It's great out of the bottle. Even better decanted with an additional natural note or two.

I don't mean to be deliberately insulting but, I'm an old man and this is what old men wore when I was in grade school.

Actually quite good. The first blast feels more like 4711 or Portofino, but surrounded by something like Flannel. That citrus and the whole aura create a convincing and well-executed impression. The citrus fades fairly quickly, leaving you with a green, aged aromatic dry-down, hoping for decent whiffs. It’s constructed somewhat like Colonia Essenza or Boucheron, but the aged green—aromatic herbs and dried foliage—is prominent, while the citrus is rather weak. This pushes associations toward Dunhill for Men, Capucci, and even more so Flannel, Pour Lui, maybe Versace L’Homme. I can’t pinpoint a clear kinship, just sense it subtly. No relation to Rabanne PH, Antaeus, or Azzaro—it’s simply an aged aromatic fougère with a citrus opening. Closest to Flannel or Denim, but it seems better than both.

Timeless classic for dirt cheap price ! More for the mature 40+ audience.

A grandpa's scent from Central and Eastern Europe (Poland). Very high performance, personally, I hate it. A strong hit of grass, spices, cloves, and a touch of citrus, but it's still the worst scent I've ever smelled, although such performance at such a low price is rare. Not a trace of sweetness. I highly recommend it if you want people to squirm away from you or are over 50 and enjoy this kind of atmosphere.

This is a very very lovely scent but it vanishes nearly instantly certainly within a half hour down to an extremely weak skin scent. The Tabac "cologne" is stronger and thicker than this the Brutal Classic Intense edt. Tabac also checks off almost all of the same notes. I know that in the U.S. you can get a 10 ounce(!) bottle of Tabac from a couple of popular online sites for $15-$25(!). It smells fantastic and if there was an edp with some lingering sillage even if only moderate I would keep a bottle on hand and use it often. And at some point I would buy this even having read my own review because I'm a good obsessive classics junkie (though not the sort that spends $400 on a vintage that once retailed for $25). So what I'm saying is that Tabac makes this unnecessary though certainly not redundant and because there are SO MANY other classics still talked about endlessly and cherished of which someone like me stays awake at night staring at the ceiling and pondering the nature of that you could definitely move Brutal down to a much lower place on your list of "must try classics". When I started writing I sprayed a full strong shot on the back of my hand and now I can detect no trace. My experience with Aspen is very similar: LOVE the fragrance but I am always worried I'll get put in a straight jacket for respritzing every 15 minutes whilst twitching and touching my face and smelling my hands compulsively with damp trails under my eyes... Post Script: Rereading some of these truly absurd reviews one even claiming the performance to be as good as Kouros 😂🤣 I felt obliged to double check my hand and when I actually mash my nose into it there is a grassy trace like from a bar of soap. If I lift my nose up even a centimeter this is gone. Of course I will be open minded to maceration improvement but generally in my experience that rarely relates to EDTs only the EDPs. UPDATE: MATURATION WORKED. AFTER 4-6 WEEKS THIS HAS BECOME QUITE LIVELY! NOT "BEAST" OR WHATNOT BUT CERTAINLY STRONG EDT LEVEL. AND IF YOU LOVE LEMON GRASS AS I DO THEN THIS IS A JOY TO OWN AND WEAR.

Just picked this up in Poland, did not know this one. It is from La Rive (I also have Hitfire from La Rive) made in Poland. I must say I love it, quite masculine, spicy vetiver, old school style. I like those kinds and am pretty tired of the modern ambroxan all smell alike stuff from designers. All the Bleus (Chanel), Sauvages (Dior), Eroses and others (Versace), nah. Brutal brings back the brute and simple, no-apologies-for-being-a-man scent. But this is only MHO. Good value for cost here. Ps: but I must say: I will never stop loving and wearing Fahrenheit EDT from Dior. These are lone standing masterpieces in men's fragrances.

Considering the extremely cheap price tag combined with a wonderful scent and beastly longevity, this is simply the best value fragrance I've ever tried. A grassy, woody, fruity tonic of a fragrance. This smells better than its budget counterparts (Brut, Tabac and Old Spice). Brutal is available in aftershave, cologne and edt. I own the cologne version and it is robust! Lasts all day and traces of the scent can be detected the following morning. As the cologne has impressive scent and longevity, I've decided to order a bottle of Brutal edt; I can see this version being extremely powerful!!
