The Little Mermaid

Pleasantly surprised by this aquatic floral. The presentation is absolutely adorable (albeit pretty AI generated). The scent opens with a strong lilac and salty sea water combo, a tad synthetic perhaps, but really quite pretty. The seaweed/marine note gets stronger in the mid in a way that is fun but could be off-putting for some. The dry down is quite nice- it softens, a bit of powder emerges, and I can imagine layering it with a nice vanilla to round it out and bring out the warmth. I have Tears by Regime des Fleurs, and this bears a wee resemblance due to the lilac and salt notes, so it may feel redundant in my collection, but it's nice and worth sampling for lovers of lilac or marine florals.

I was really ready to not like this. It was recommended to me by a scentlab employee, and I wasn’t sure because I thought I was just in the market for a more straight-up marine scent and tbh I hate the packaging even though it isn’t AI art, but this is beautiful! It goes on very lilac heavy but fades to a champagney, bubbly sea salt scent that’s really lovely, clean and fresh. I definitely will be purchasing the full bottle in the future. Very pleasantly surprised!

i was initially pretty indifferent to this but kept reaching for it as a bedtime scent– ended up finishing my sample. there's something very innocent and moving about this fragrance. it's soapy, bright, and sweet. the smell of the poor little mermaid as she turns to sea foam.

Fresh and aquatic with a little bit of funkiness from the seaweed. It makes me feel like I'm a mermaid that just emerged from the ocean and is sunbathing on a rock. It layers really nicely with House of Bo - La Mar.

This is, hands down, the most intoxicating lilac scent I tried. There's a sparkling quality to it with the champagne note that's so uplifting. Amazing work!

I appreciate the artistic touch of opening brightly with things from the human world (lilac, lemon, champagne) then transitioning to something more beachy and then marine, with the human world notes fading like a memory. It's definitely the Hans Christian Andersen version of TLM and not the Disney version. And definitely targeting that demographic of people who wanted to be mermaids when they were little (and still do, tbh). Perfect for the height of the summer and trips to the beach. I don't think I'd get a whole bottle because it feels too specific to those occasions but I will probably be using up this 9ml decant over the summer.

Lightweight feminine floral aquatic to start. Somewhere in the middle an herbal aspect emerges, nothing that would make me think seaweed, but the fragrance then sails into more unisex waters and then becomes equally suitable for a young Prince Eric.

This is a beautiful and gentle aquatic floral scent. The best one from Mischief Academy I think. Will not be buying thought bc for this price point why am I getting AI art on the packaging!!!

Uhm while this isn't bad...it's not great either. This is actually my least fav of the set b/c it's pretty generic. Again not bad at all, it's actually semi pleasant & pretty, but just kind of simple imo. It literally smells TO ME...to me...like a dial soap bar/the pink dove soap bar. Very fresh, semi powdery floral lilac, with lemon zest and in dry down you get the lilac/lemon with very light hints of ocean & seaweed. But all in all it remains a soap bar the entire wear. If you love yourself a feminine, soapy, semi powdery, fresh, frag DEF DEF DEF test this. Easy reach, summer day frag. I think if it projected better & lasted longer it'd honestly be higher up on my like list.B/c it's nice to own a few simple, pretty easy reaches. But unfortunately this started out pretty decent but only lasted about an hr to 1.5hrs on me and then disappeared. Sad b/c it honestly is a pretty scent. PS: THIS IS NOT AI ART! 🧜♀️ While it doesn't fully resonate with me, the opening is genuinely intriguing – a bright, zesty, purplish lilac that's playful and unique, suggesting a more imaginative scent experience. However, on my skin, that magic fades quickly and shifts into a composition of lemon peel, soft salinity, and airy marine notes, with a subtle powdery finish. It's clean, unisex, and easy to wear, though it loses some of that initial magic for me after a few minutes. P.S: I really want to like this one.

Top notes: lemon peel + salt + marine accords, about 80% similar to Hermès Eau des Merveilles Bleue. In the heart notes, Mermaid has a candy-like scent reminiscent of Skittles, making it quite different from Hermès Eau des Merveilles Bleue. It even smells a bit like Sugus chewy candy which is quite pleasant. The base notes transition into an ordinary, unremarkable aquatic accord.

This is quite lilac forward. The lilac stays with the fragrance through the wire with a slight salty marine note coming in the mid. There’s a little bit of citrus and there the dried on his pleasant but very clean and powdery.

Smells like a merbaby wipe. Because of it I was expecting to find jasmine and musk in the notes but the marine accord makes sense and comes through in the wear. It’s pretty but nothing unique for me.

The notes sound BEAUTIFUL, but God, please, we need to have higher standards and not use fw ai brands, bro. No matter how beautiful it is, I just can't justify spending $120 on this perfume when I can pay actual artists who work for renowned frage houses for the same price

This fragrance surprised me. It is a melancholy and delicate powdery floral fragrance, with a hint of fresh salty watery notes. I think it really captures the feeling of the Little Mermaid herself, her intrinsic femininity along with her sadness and longing for life outside the ocean. As the fragrance dries, paradoxically, the fresh notes more associated with “marine” fragrances emerge. Along with this, there is a familiar citrusy-chypre profile that recalls classic fragrances like Eau de Roche. You can even pick out some natural oakmoss in the dry down if I’m not mistaken. Interesting execution of this concept, I certainly was not expecting this!

really lovely fresh scent. maybe not the most unique scent on earth, but highly wearable and very pleasant. feels both floral and marine -- a light, bubbly, clean fragrance. also, just a note to shandasday, the illustrator is listed on Mischief Academy's site for this fragrance (Le Hoang). there's a blog post on their site dedicated to crediting the artists they commissioned to create these illustrations. so if the only thing stopping you from trying this fragrance is that you thought it was AI-generated, I think you can go ahead and try it.

A lilac forward fragrance with beachy musks, sparkling champagne, and and underlying seaweed note. Aquatics aren’t my cup of tea so this isn’t my favorite but the lilac is done beautifully, the champagne has a nice dry quality to it with a sparkling feel, and the seaweed makes it extra mermaid esque. You get citrus all throughout as well, smells almost like a lemonade note paired with that champagne. A lovely take on lilac for ppl who enjoy aquatics

Smells like a luxurious adult BABY OIL made of sea foam from a glowing bioluminescent beach, bubbly champagne and pearly sea salt stalagmites that look like crystal castles. Clean and unisex. 🐚 Honestly, how has no one mentioned baby oil? I get a nostalgic baby oil scent but refined and ethereal. 🫠🤍

Little Mermaid smells salty, citrusy, and distinctly marine to my nose—definitely something I imagine a mermaid would wear lol. I don’t particularly love it, but I wouldn’t mind grabbing it for a quick spray when heading out on a hot summer day.
