Winnie the Pooh

Company info: This company has BEAUTIFUL packaging! I love the childlike storytelling vibes, it really evokes nostalgia. USA made, 100% recyclable, and NEVER animal tested. The scent: I can't quite think of anything that smells like this. It's kind of unique...kinda not at the same time lol but I'm really not sure how I feel about it. Part of me likes it a lot and part of me is like "ahhh 😑" I get the notes in this order, honey, beeswax, lavender clary sage, vanilla, lemon. Semi sweet, ....idk I think I need to wear this one more to get a real feel for it. Will update later with more info, to be continued.... -Update: Okay on the dry down I'm getting more woody notes with a spicy sweetness. I'm really liking this much more now & the longevity is surprisingly really really good, as well as the projection, although it's no where near overbearing. This is the DEFINITION of an "adult" gourmand. And I do actually find this pretty unique as I can't pin down a scent yet that is anything like this(in the dry down I'm def getting angel share vibes, not twins or sister but same family fs have a few similarities). I like this a lot now and I believe this could be a FB for me. All of this house needs tested 1st b/c I believe these will def be hit or misses, love/hate type scents. Give this scent a real chance, it changes and grows on you with time. I will say Im enjoying every single one, may not get FB of every one but I do enjoy the story that each frag releases, and the unique twists of each one. My favs in order: 1) Mad Hatter (8.7/10) 2) Winnie The Pooh (8.6/10) 3) Jungle book (8/10) 4) Hansel & Gretel(7.6/10) 5) Pinocchio (8.5/10) (My not be a top 4 but I love this frag, it's a really well done santal 33 w/no pickle & a dusting of freshness). 6) The Cursed Apple (7.4/10)(Also really enjoy the oddity of this frag and unique poison note and fresh apple of this scent) 7) The little Mermaid(6.3/10)

A freshly pastoral take on honey. Not your run of the mill syrupy sweet, thick and vicious, heavy honey, but fresh, herbal, green honey as if you’ve found a bear eating it in the middle of a field. It’s warm and cozy with citrusy undertones and an interesting smokiness in the full dry down seemingly from the sage. A really lovely take on honey

Quick update: The longevity is amazing! I sprayed in the morning and can still sniff it by the 6pm. This one is really growing on me!

It's an interesting honey scent, for sure. It doesn't strike me as your "sweet" or "fantasy" honey note; instead, it is a realistic honey accord that is complimented very nicely by the other notes, most prominently the lavender and lemon upon the dry-down. The honey in this fragrance, at least upon first spray, reminds me much of Tobacco Honey by Guerlain. Note that this is ONLY the honey accord that smells similar -- all other accords and notes do not bear resemblance, in my opinion. After wearing for about 15 minutes, this fragrance becomes bitter -- mind you, not in a bad sense -- almost like Moon Glory by the Harmonist. The lavender is prevalent by this point, and you can sense the lemon coming through. This bright, effervescent citrus twist brings a nice juxtaposition to the density of the honey. As you let the fragrance sit longer, the lemon becomes more prominent, eventually (arguably) becoming the primary note you smell. By the 1st-2nd hour of wear, the vanilla and Tonka begin to creep through, adding a nice sweet touch to the base of this scent; in the end, clary sage and vanilla, along with the honey, as mentioned earlier, will be what you smell by the time this scent dissipates. Longevity is, well, good but not great. I received about 4-5 strong hours, with another 3-4 faint hours. Projection is very moderate; this scent will not fill a room, but will certainly get you recognized within some proximity. Overall, I find this scent to be a nice homage to my childhood, hence why I look upon it fondly, along with it's relatively good characteristics. I reccomend this scent, but I wouldn't say run to buy it. 7/10

Savory & herbal behind the honey for interest...pretty good, but the rest of the line smell like things you'd find at a farmer's market or craft fair (without being 100% natural or organic).

The honey note is so cute and cozy, but the sage note that lingers in the back is harsh and animalistic, reminds me of a hamster cage.

It seems that nearly everyone who has tried the Mischief Academy discovery box has liked Winnie the Pooh most of all. So, I grabbed a small sample, and after all that hype, I’m finding myself terribly disappointed. My daughter wrinkled her nose up at this, too, so I know it isn’t just me. The honey is strong. It’s a good honey with no waxy notes detected. However, the amount is like accidentally putting too much honey in your tea, and now it’s about to give you a stomach ache, but it doesn't quite. The tonka bean really shines, here, too. It’s deep and ambery, which is fitting for a cuddly teddy bear. However, what really kills this for me are the lavender and clary sage notes that don’t come off as herbal and don’t smell like lavender or clary sage. Instead, they remind me of the chemicals used for leather shoe tanning -- not leather itself, but a medicinal note that’s just not pleasant at all on a close sniff and doesn’t have me loving this at all. If I’m outdoors and the wind is bringing swirling wafts of this fragrance to my nose, it’s not too bad. But I’m not liking the closed-room scent bubble of it.

I really wanted to like this, the notes usually work for me. I think that it’s the Clary Sage that is so strong, not quite herbal but more just outside in an old field. The Honey was faint, sort of “dry” lie the honeycomb was old. I did’t get the lavender, lemon, or vanilla. I think my akin just doesn’t match for this and it pulls more masculine for me.

The Winnie here is not the cute yellow teddy bear but a massive brown grizzly. The lavender is very prominent, resembling an herbal medicated oil. However, the underlying sweetness disrupts the overall structure, making the scent feel mismatched. Very strange.

Just like Winnie the Pooh... It looks cute but upon hugging it, it's just a bunch of fake cheap fluff inside to round the shape out. :

After having sampled the line, it's apparent to me that no one at the house has any actual familiarity with the stories the scents are supposed to represent, it's all just a quick money grab. This particular scent is sour and unpleasant, not even a decent honey note present. I love honey smells, but this one disappoints me because of the brand's use of AI. I CANNOT justify paying $120 for a cash-grab brand that lacks creativity.

As I continue to explore the discovery set, I’m realizing that each gourmand is truly beautiful. They’re elevated bc they (and Winnie the Pooh especially) don’t only smell edible but they embody food-like items’ scents WITHIN the context of each corresponding fairy tale. I imagined this would be a light, fresh and slightly sweet honey like Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom & Honey and less like a fully complex gourmand. I often am on the hunt for a green & herbal scent but I can’t find that anywhere here, despite clary sage note at all. I honestly have no idea why WtP has an “aromatic” tag there’s nothing fresh about this scent. The combo of vanilla + Tonka bean gives depth within the sweetness making it more dense and less light and fluffy or fresh. The honey is pronounced and works with the beeswax note making WtP read as viscous and thick and less like a candle stick.

I recently bought a honey shower gel from a brand called Panier des Sens and completely fell in love with how genuinely realistic the honey scent was. Since then, I’ve been on a bit of a honey-themed perfume hunt, and Mischief Academy’s Winnie the Pooh was one of the scents I tried. While it does feature a convincing honey note, it’s blended with several other elements that give it a smoky, animalic quality—likely the reason it's marketed as unisex, though to me it leans more masculine. If you're looking for a rich, soft, smooth, and comforting true-honey scent, Winnie the Pooh might not be the one. I’m really glad I started with a discovery set—I nearly bought the full-size bottle just because of how adorable the packaging is! P/s: The review by MZVMIX describes this scent perfectly!

A stunningly interesting contrast of a classic structure (the fougere) and a rather unpopular note (honey). Older fragrances, like Kouros, or ancient ones, like Cuir de Russie, often sported honey notes -- imparted by animal ingredients like Civet, or classic bases, like Animalis and Miel Blanc. So often these honey facets were very matured, sour, and blended with other heavy florals (orange blossom, jasmine etc) in a style which I still love, but long since made obsolete by the market. Here we have a clash of old and new. A archetypal note, interpreted in a modern way. A contemporary accord of dry amber, ambroxan, ethyl maltol and leather married to vintage bergamot, coumarin and clary sage. A tale as old as time all grown up. Like an adult Winnie himself, perhaps.

One might expect by the title that this is a simplistic juvenile fragrance but the marketing is misleading making this a pleasant surprise. It is a complex niche style fragrance that I would call unisex sophisticated. It is honey focused but well balanced with the aromatics. It never gets too sweet or animalic. It isn't gourmand or even fougere. If I had to compare it is in the same style as something like Harvest Mouse or Pineward Shire. I'm certainly here for it and it is one of the standouts in the discovery set.

So I won the sample kit, and this was the one I tried on first. This was lovely- apt name there was the 100 acre woods greenery lovely fresh scent smoothed out with the honey. I sprayed this on at 8 and nearly 12hrs later I was still getting a scent bubble. I wanted to just keep smelling my arm, silly I know but comforting and charming. This wasn’t fill a room kind of crazy but I was just pleased to keep getting wafts of this through the day. I would venture to say this Is a safe blind buy.

More like “Vinnie” the Pooh for me. Incredibly masculine and fougère. The woody and herbal notes really take over the sweet honey opening and it becomes quite a straightforward masculine fragrance. It seems like the soft, friendly Pooh bear got involved with the wrong crowd and now spends his days in the back room of a strip club, smoking cigars and playing poker. He might still love honey (probably in his bourbon, these days), but the fuzzy and soft bear of the past is long gone.
