Haystacks At Sunset

I was very eager to try this one, since its concept is just alluring, impressionistic, and picturesque af. When I spritzed this on myself, I was suddenly reminded of another familiar scent that I tried a while back, but it took me five minutes or so to eventually intuit what it was. Bottega Veneta Illusione for Him. One of Antoine Maisondieu's masterpieces. MITH's Haystacks at Sunset is a lighter (and sadly weaker) take on Illusione. I like it, but won't be getting a full bottle of it since it's too close to Illusione for Him. For those who haven't smelt Illusione and Haystacks, both of these two fragrances are very green and aromatic. There is the lingering citrusy bergamot that never leaves on top of the aroma, but they are nevertheless masculine-leaning, with cedar and vetiver base being very much detectable. All in all, both are very pleasant to sniff and wear, but Illusione is a little stronger. Haystacks at Sunset works better on clothes than on skin. If you're familiar with the notes (bergamot, cedar vetiver, and clary sage), this is a safe blind buy. Update: I don't know if I'll be supporting the brand any further. One of the employees told me he and his colleagues had to work 10-12 hours a day for the brand without being given a seating in the department store. The fragrance price has now also been escalated from 1459 THB to 1759 THB for a 60 ml bottle.
