Blackberry Tonic

I honestly love this scent. I know that some other fragrantica users haven’t had luck with it, but I must have the perfect skin chemistry to compliment it because it smells excellent on me lol. It smells like a bowl of fizzy blackberry punch. It’s sweet, and just the slightest bit acidic. The acidity tempers the sweetness and keeps it from being cloying. It’s a delightful, deliciously fresh scent that reminds me of a rainy summer day. I would describe the sillage as moderate. It isn’t exceedingly strong, but if I spray the perfume in my room, the scent lingers for a while. Projection is pretty good. Usually I can never smell perfume on myself unless I sniff my wrist or the other places I sprayed, but when I wear this fragrance, I can clearly smell it in the air around me. That being said, I do have a habit of over spraying. I asked my mother and not only could she smell it as well, she also complimented the scent. The longevity isn’t exceptional, so I would recommend reapplying after a couple hours. You can also layer blackberry scented lotion underneath it to make the scent last longer. The best thing about this perfume is the price point. It is VERY affordable. The only problem is that I am having a hard time finding Blackberry Tonic anywhere. I fear it may have been discontinued which is a real shame. If you can get your hands on this perfume, it’s definitely worth a try!

Oh my gosh, this is so good!! I cannot stop sniffing my skin!! I love Blackberry Tonic because it’s berries and florals with musks but in the most wonderful perfume-y way possible! Reminds me of Trish McEvoy (Blackberry and Vanilla Musk) in a way...but perhaps not as sweet? And this stays on my skin forever!! 12+ hours!! So wonderful ✨ I’m sad this was discontinued because it’s such a great fragrance and price wise, it’s super affordable! Best of both worlds!! ✨🖤☁️✨ Hopefully, it will make a comeback at Target? But I’m not getting my hopes up...

I adore this scent! I’ve had it for years & end up repurchasing in pairs on eBay. It’s a gorg juicy & tart blackberry scent that dries down to a soft, white floral that’s a hint musky. Super nice in spring and summer! Sometimes I layer it with YSL Mon Paris. This perfume doesn’t last that long; maybe 4 hours. But I don’t expect it to last since it was just a target fragrance. It’s just so fresh and green, it really is a “happy” perfume.

I am absolutely in love with the fragrance. It’s simple and clean but not linear. The berry is balanced by floral and woodsy notes for a delicious and intriguing scent that lasts on me. It isn’t overpowering but is strong enough to smell at about arms-length. I got the body spray instead of the perfume. I’d like to get the perfume too. I reach for this often. It’s an amazing buy.

this is the best perfume ever and i cant believe they would get rid of it. so fruity, fizzy, and just a little musky. lasted days on me, would smell it on my pillows, my hair when i showered, my clothes after i woke up the next day. my boyfriend said i used to leave a scent trail wherever i walked and he would whiff it because its just sooo good. this perfume is so me. i miss it.

I absolutely love the depth and darkness it has, the white florals makes it not too heavy. I get a slight peppery note in the first hour. This is beautiful in all weather but I feel like it would be a perfect fall scent. The only bad thing is that it last about 2h on me.

I love this perfume. I am constantly reaching for this one, and its perfect to layer with and to wear on its own. I love the moody and mysterious musk contrasted with the vibrant, fizzy, and rosy blackberry scent. It reminds me of the taste of blackberry lacroix lol.

Yummy, fizzy realistic blackberry. It's simple and doesn't last very long, maybe 3-5 hours, but it's lovely and perfect for hot Florida summers. It smells like eating blackberries in a garden. Very pleasant and fresh.

This is a boozy blueberry scent. Sophisticated and sexy in its own way. This lasts the longest on my skin and hair, ranging from 8-10 hours and it projects pretty good too.

This smells sweet and comforting on me. I haven’t worn it out, so I can’t speak of longevity but I really like it. I can see this being a great fall day time scent.

I have this as a roller ball and I’m shocked to not see rose listed as a note here? Maybe I got a mixed up batch? I can smell a little bit of something pleasant and fruity and effervescent when first applied, like what I’d assume a “blackberry tonic” type drink would be. The dry down is just florally rose though. It’s still a nice pleasant smell that would be good year round so I’m not mad. Just confused lol. Lasts about 3 hours so not what I’d call moderate longevity but it’s not the weakest of the mix bar fragrances.

Just blackberry and musk in this guy. No frills, but its simplicity makes it a nice palette cleanser, and of course it is also quite good for layering. It is fresh and zingy without being abrasive or smelling like laundry soap. I don't get much evolution as it dries down; the blackberry fades away and obviously the musk stays around much longer. I think the bottle is lovely and simple as well. For the price, I think this is fantastic, and it scratches the itch to want a berry-forward scent that isn't candy-like.

I was at a bakery the other day and an older woman working there asked me what perfume I was wearing, and said that it must be expensive because it smells "divine".. when I told her I bought it at Target for around $20 she was floored and told me she would be going to purchase it after work! It's not my favorite perfume at Target but it's a really good affordable musk. I wear it if I'm going to be outside for most of the day, it's a good clean, soft scent.

Strikes me as mostly a soapy rose scent. I think this would be a lovely fragrance for right after a shower when you want to smell just clean. I will layer this with some more interesting fragrances but I am happy to have another soapy clean scent that I don't find cloying or to much like a home cleaning product/room freshener since it doesn't stand out as something I couldn't find in a soapy rose fragrance elsewhere

bitter (?) blackberry. something very scratchy about this one; I don't think the musk sits well in my nose. instead of a sweet, jammy blackberry, it's fresher, like it's been picked right off the plant. it's a good clean scent for the springtime though. doesn't last a long time, but for the price it can be justified. not for me, but for somebody.

The blackberry note in this is spot on and the lily of the valley really adds to it. This is delicate and deep, with a good base. Unfortunately, like the Whipped Almond scent I got with this one, the longevity and projection are close to nothing, which is just disappointing. I enjoy Blackberry and Bay by Jo Malone much more, though.

This perfume reminds me somewhat of a sweeter, less complex version of Stella with blackberry replacing the mandarin. I was shocked because I wasn't expecting to get a roses vibe from this. It's a nice fruity floral for Spring.

A delightful fruity musky scent! A clean, sweet but not too sweet, cozy but not too cozy vibe. I didnt expect to like it as much as I do. I got this and the Wood Elixir together and I prefer this FAR more than Wood Elixir.

I got to try this scent at Target this morning. It reminds me of Jōvan’s Black Musk, but with stronger musk and blackberry notes. Best of all, it lasts much longer- it’s been three hours and it’s still easily detectable.

This is really pretty and for the price, I can’t complain. It’s musky, fruity, and soft. It does dry down to what smells like glass rose from their line. I probably won’t repurchase but will certainly enjoy wearing it!

Nice blackberry note with a hint of musk! On me this is pretty light and perfect for spring and summer...I like it a lot just wish it lasted longer.

Just unisex blackberry. Not too sweet, not too sour, quite fresh. Simple but very pleasant

I really think this is an enjoyable scent. Smells to me like blackberry candy :)

I was intrigued by the LotV note listed and also, the idea of smelling like gin has crossed my mind before! (Not that I want people wondering why I smell like gin out in public, lol) But fizzy, green, aromatic, tart, a bit floral... could describe a good gin or a good scent! I added this to a target grocery pickup on a whim thinking it might smell like that. This is a pleasant scent and smells a lot more expensive than it is. I do not get the LotV, sadly. The blackberry note is present but not childish, my main beef with berry/fruit scents. Longevity is medium, not bad for the price! However, I think I'm just not super into this family of scents. I am a white floral & musk kind of girl. To me this smells like "Woman Wearing Perfume" and reminds me of my mother-in-law, who gives major "rich b*tch" vibes. Not my style, but that's a personal association. I do think it's a good perfume that happens to be a budget buy and some might love it. It could work for a man or a woman. I tried layering it with my favorite lily-of-the-valley scent, Tambourine Dreamer. I liked that better but didn't feel like it was different enough to be worth it. Might try to return.

This is a cute fragrance, but I can absolutely see how someone wouldn’t like it. It’s a tart, fizzy blackberry whose top notes leave too soon, and base notes missed the party. It’s very linear, I didn’t get any woody notes or resins. I suspect the greenness of the blackberry is coming from the LOV notes, which I don’t mind at all. That being said, I gifted this to my middle schooler. It mixes with her chemistry well and smells both warm and fresh on her. On me it smells like a bottle of unscented lotion walked past a bushel of blackberries. If this smelled on me how it does in the bottle I’d reach for it, unfortunately it doesn’t. I’ll try again in a few months, cloud musk took as long to become a like for me as well.

Once again I’m underwhelmed and disappointed by Mix Bar fragrances. I absolutely do not get the hype. I can’t decide if I like this one or not. I get zero blackberry whatsoever. All I get is indolic jasmine and something a little sharp, maybe like vodka. At first I got almost mildew-y Play Doh vibes from it, but the more I sniff it the more I think it MIGHT be a sexy jasmine fragrance. But then there are some times I take a sniff and don’t like it at all. Guess I’ll probably pass on this one too. I’ve tried 5-6 of these and so far Glass Rose is the only one worth my time and money.

I was at Target running errands today and thought I would sample these fragrances. Why is it that so many perfumes that are new smell so generic? They aren't bad, they just have no character, no depth, no soul. This is a boring fruity musk that smells like all the rest of the boring fruity musk's out there. If you want something linear that smells like shampoo then this is for you but I took a pass.

Tart, citrusy rose + dark juicy berries + powder. Clean, soft, refreshing, fruity. I was immediately reminded of Lalique Amethyst, and I can see I'm not alone. Notable distinction: Lalique Amethyst is brighter and more citrusy, whereas this is diffusive & musky. This is definitely among the better Mix:Bar offerings. Good value for $$$.

This smells very similar to Tresor Midnight Rose. I'm not saying this is bad, but I'm not a fan of Midnight Rose so I'm not a fan of this. If you like Midnight Rose, then you will like this.

This is a pleasant blackberry scent with a hint of musk, but my skin eats it. If this lasts on you, I think it's a great pick that could even work in fall.

I could barely detect any fragrance from this? The idea of the blackberry fragrance sounded incredible- but I catch next to nothing. Maybe a second of blackberry mist? Like if you put a blackberry seltzer water in a spray bottle and sprayed it. Seriously no scent detectable to me and I tried airing it out, sniffing coffee beans to refresh, had other people sniff it on me. Nothing. What a weird waste.

I don't know why but this perfume makes me sneeze anytime I spritz it on. :( It makes me super sad because I just bought this and Vanilla Bourbon and loved how both smelled. It's a fun scent and kind of smells fizzy if that makes sense. Good thing is my sister loves this scent and she doesn't usually like blackberry. I'll probably gift it to her, if not I think I'll have to return it.

I liked it sniffing the nozzle, smelled nice like blackberry. But on my skin it dried down to a nauseating cleaner scent. Like something I'd scrub my bathroom with. I returned it.

We are all in different places along our olfactory journey & even for $20 one can own some potent performers if you know where the deals can be had... it was gifted so it’s in my collection & rarely gets reached for to layer as I would never wear it alone ... b o r I n g. On the positive side if you’ve just started on your path & aren’t all but completely anosmic as a result of your olfactory system being bombarded with heavy hitters on the daily I have a very pleasant combo that is no slouch using one of if not the strongest scent bath & body works has to offer. You’ll want to be freshly bathed for best results, the in the stars regular shower gel or moisturizing body wash will add an added layer of depth. Follow with in the stars cream or if you enjoy a lighter option perhaps the lotion. Follow with the matching body mist & spray blackberry tonic liberally. Touch up as needed (look out for the flash & semi annual sales if you are more comfortable spending $5 or less on each component)

I actually really enjoyed this perfume and got SO many compliments when wearing it. I have to say, it doesn't last the longest in terms of longevity, but I still truly love the scent. I'm not exactly sure what a blackberry perfume is "supposed" to smell like, but this is pretty freaking good in my opinion. Maybe don't buy it if you're only focused on that blackberry scent, but if you like a fizzy, tart scent that really pleases the nostrils, I would say it's worth it! I didn't get the full size bottle, just a small sample but I keep it in my purse to apply when I'm feeling a bit boring scentwise, or if I forgot my signature scent!

Have owned this for about a year and a half and rarely reached for it for some reason (kinda forgot I had it tbh). However, I have a 5ml of CSP Vanille Blackberry that I enjoyed very much wearing yesterday and pulled this out (normally my consumerist self would have just went and bought a FB of Vanille Blackberry immediately but umm 🫣we're trying to be better over here so I remembered I had this and needed to try it more) and it's so similar to VB- I really like it on my wrist as I'm typing. Try it, it's a light fresh fizzy 'natural' blackberry. Agree with the comment below it's so similar to Gucci II as well

This reminds me of time spent with my childhood best friend. At times bittersweet this fragrance weaves in and out like woods and musk in the drydown (probably what some refer to as fizz), but ultimately it reminds me most of eating mulberries, not blackberries. Maybe even that unsweetened scent of them smashed to the ground emanating off of hot earth, or even reminiscent briefly of sap in the woods. Long lasting but a very linear drydown where it stays there in the woods. I think it’s very pleasant but it doesn’t grab me for some reason. Would probably be a lovely layering agent for rose fragrances!

I must say, the reviews really scared me here. I blind bought it because of my love for blackberry notes, then went to fragrantica and saw a bunch of people saying it smelled like rose, or nothing like blackberry at all. To me, I smell 100% juicy, mellow blackberry. There is not enough sweetness for this to have vanilla, nor a floral note. I just pick up pure blackberry and I love it. If you like Ariana grandes sweet like candy, gingham vibrant, blackberry & basil, blackberry & bay, candied violet sorbet.. this is similar but less sugary sweet, and amazing for layering.

So I just received a Blackberry Tonic perfume and I can’t get enough!!! I’m obsessed with it!! It’s giving me Febreeze Moonlight Breeze dryer sheets but in a toned down perfume form. And I’m obsessed with Febreeze Moonlight Breeze and sometimes spray and walk into the air because I want to smell just like that everywhere I go. lol But this Blackberry Tonic is that but in a clean and more wearable way. This fragrance is soft, not too sweet, lightly powdered, and musky with the woods lingering in the background. I can’t stop sniffing it!!

lackluster No one could intentionally make a perfume this disappointing. I cannot smell blackberries. It smells of very little. I can make out the faintest hint of green & medicinal qualities. It also disappears in mere minutes from my skin, for which I am happy because it is unpleasant. Yes, I am well moisturized and yes, perhaps I have COVID because I cannot smell only trace amounts of this. I bought this new, sealed in the package at Target, so I know it's not fake. Maybe it needs to macerate? It's a waste of $20.

I came across the Mix:Bar scents on a trip to Target a couple of days ago, and I decided to sample this one. I was pleasantly surprised. It reads as a kind of jammy rose with a woody base. It kind of reminded me of a somewhat simplified version of Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir. If you layered it with Wood Elixir it would come closer. I was just expecting a simple fruity scent and got something a bit more sophisticated.

More of a green blackberry smell and I'm 99% it's the lilly of the valley that's making it smell like that. Dries down green on me as well and not that sweet. Layered a vanilla lotion under as a base and omg it made it even worse. It made the vanilla smell almost rotten. I'm getting rid of this. Also it's not even special or interesting.

Actual notes : Blackberry, Lily Of The Valley, Jasmine, Musk Wood, Vanilla. It's nice... A great berry fragrance for summer, it's clean and juicy. Very refreshing. Performance is OK for the price. So far really impressed with this brand, the fragrances are quite sophisticated. Simple, but good.

This smells just like Blackberry & Basil from Bath and Body Works! Kind of a shampoo-like, herbal yet juicy berry scent. I'm really glad I found something that smells like it since they only bring it back every so often, now I can feel less guilty about how often I use my bottle lmao

Sharp and the blackberry is more green than sweet. This is pretty strong so I thought it was decent until I smelled the dry down a few hours later - it smelled just like Cloud I'm guessing due to the amberwood and musk combo. Many people will like this but it's definitely not for me

Remember those super strong blackberry syrup concentrates your mum would get from the supermarket? The ones you'd mix with water? That's exactly what this smells like. Not my favourite scent, but it definitely brings back memories.

This reminds me a lot of a Marc Jacobs daisy roller I used to have - maybe daisy love or daisy eu so fresh. Very fruity and fresh, slightly more juvenile but great if you want to smell like berries and flowers
