Coconut Palm

Edited; I LOVE everything about this fragrance! Just picked up the body mist for now, and it's great. Doesn't last long at all however. But, I can tell you this; it brings out my inner mermaid. (I'll be getting the EDP next as soon as I can.) Very beachy; sand and sea salt, marine vibes from the seaweed and raw coconut. It's giving a mystical toasty vibe from the alleged incense note(I get sandalwood), along with those extra woody musks. A hint of sweet creamy vanilla, but not overpowering, and still very coconut-dominant. Although, I would say it also gives a mix of sugary and salty at the same time, like shaved ice with coconut flakes. Or maybe a coconut juice cocktail even. If you enjoy Cloud and Thank U Next, but don't like how strong or cloying they lean, then this would be a better option. It is a natural fragrance, and I can imagine it being decent worn day or night, preferably in the Spring or Summer months. I like that it's not overly feminine, as it is unisex. It's just beachy all around. Reminds me of a nice, cozy island hideaway of a beach. I don't know why I keep picking up a mild "mintiness", but it's definitely there. I think it's the seaweed. Nothing bothersome though. Just, different. But, no, it's not an exact "dupe" for Cloud at all, like some people have stated. It's got a few similarities, but that's all. It's way more salty, and I do get a floral accord, most likely from the incense; like a vague aroma of Nag Champa. Maybe a bit "green", again from the seaweed note. It's not aquatic at all. In other words- like lying upon a sandy beach underneath the shade of tropical coconut palms, in front of a mellow oceanview, but not actually wading out within the water waves. If this sounds inviting to you, then, you'll likely love this.

It's a light vanilla skin musk that is slightly salty and woody. It's not conventionally tropical or beachy to my nose. I guess there could be dry woody coconut shell with some palm trunk going on. It's all vanilla and musk with a hint of woodiness, which that aspect makes me think of Phlur's Vanilla Skin but softer at the beginning. I'm pretty sure the "woody notes" probably includes akigalawood because it has that kinda "peppery" or "fizzy/effervescent" type of quality to it. I like it. It has low-moderate sillage, essentially a skin scent on me, and can be worn year round and at work with no issues. It’s essentially the "Dark Academia" version of a tropical vacation, so more like a driftwood fire on a cold beach than a poolside pina colada. Think Banana Republic beachouse. Dark brown wood and cream decor. Palm fronds. 🌴 You are dressed in neutrals at the beach instead of conventional bright sunny colors. This is not Lily Pulitzer. *It's been a couple hours, I can smell more of the salt and sandlewood now.*

So I bought this one along with 4-5 of the others and this one is my favorite. However that wasn’t until the second time I tried it. The first time (immediately after it arrived) I thought it was rather boring and just ok. I’ve had it put away for the last 3-4 months. Today I heard somebody talking about it and decided to give it another shot. IM OBSESSED. It’s truly addictive. Very light and airy and sweet. I think the salt in it is what makes it so addictive. Just like the salt in chocolate chip cookies- takes the cookies to another level. It’s very very vanillic but the coconut adds some creaminess. This could honestly be worn year round and now I’m beginning to worry it will be discontinued so maybe I should get a back up. I sprayed two sprays of this on my wrist about 5 hours ago and I still catch whiffs of it. So it has decent longevity from what I can tell so far. LOVE.

This is such a pretty smell, I just wish that it lasted longer and had broader sillage. I have the roller so maybe that's why the range might not be as broad, but it lasts for so little and is too intimate for my liking. It does help when I put vaseline on and then the roller over it though. The scent is one of my favorites. I love Ariana Grande perfumes and if you told me that this was one of her scents I would absolutely believe you. I guess its the coconut, vanilla and musk combo which she uses a lot. It's not really a super tropical coconut smell, its more of a woody creamy coconut. It's sweet, but unlike the other sweet perfumes I have that make me feel young, girly and coquettish, this one makes me feel more feminine in a sexy and fancy-ish way. It's not a super fancy smell but I could really picture myself wearing this along with a light sage satin dress at a resort.

This fragrance was a perfect summer blind buy. On the initial spray, there are three distinct notes in the fragrance: salty seaweed, driftwood and musk, and is reminiscent of walking in a Hollister after a trip to the beach. On the dry drown, the driftwood note begins to meld and the musk becomes softer, and the dry and fresh coconut turns into a musky creamy vanilla coconut milk for the rest of the life of the fragrance. At this point, the nostalgia of eating coconut shaved ice with condensed milk came to mind. The silage is skin intimate, but if you layer it with a lotion and spray it on clothes, it is moderate. It lasts about 6 hours on my skin, as I could still smell after running errands during a cool morning to a hot afternoon. To me, for the price and the scent, it is a love.
