Coconut Palm

Edited; I LOVE everything about this fragrance! Just picked up the body mist for now, and it's great. Doesn't last long at all however. But, I can tell you this; it brings out my inner mermaid. (I'll be getting the EDP next as soon as I can.) Very beachy; sand and sea salt, marine vibes from the seaweed and raw coconut. It's giving a mystical toasty vibe from the alleged incense note(I get sandalwood), along with those extra woody musks. A hint of sweet creamy vanilla, but not overpowering, and still very coconut-dominant. Although, I would say it also gives a mix of sugary and salty at the same time, like shaved ice with coconut flakes. Or maybe a coconut juice cocktail even. If you enjoy Cloud and Thank U Next, but don't like how strong or cloying they lean, then this would be a better option. It is a natural fragrance, and I can imagine it being decent worn day or night, preferably in the Spring or Summer months. I like that it's not overly feminine, as it is unisex. It's just beachy all around. Reminds me of a nice, cozy island hideaway of a beach. I don't know why I keep picking up a mild "mintiness", but it's definitely there. I think it's the seaweed. Nothing bothersome though. Just, different. But, no, it's not an exact "dupe" for Cloud at all, like some people have stated. It's got a few similarities, but that's all. It's way more salty, and I do get a floral accord, most likely from the incense; like a vague aroma of Nag Champa. Maybe a bit "green", again from the seaweed note. It's not aquatic at all. In other words- like lying upon a sandy beach underneath the shade of tropical coconut palms, in front of a mellow oceanview, but not actually wading out within the water waves. If this sounds inviting to you, then, you'll likely love this.

It's a light vanilla skin musk that is slightly salty and woody. It's not conventionally tropical or beachy to my nose. I guess there could be dry woody coconut shell with some palm trunk going on. It's all vanilla and musk with a hint of woodiness, which that aspect makes me think of Phlur's Vanilla Skin but softer at the beginning. I'm pretty sure the "woody notes" probably includes akigalawood because it has that kinda "peppery" or "fizzy/effervescent" type of quality to it. I like it. It has low-moderate sillage, essentially a skin scent on me, and can be worn year round and at work with no issues. It’s essentially the "Dark Academia" version of a tropical vacation, so more like a driftwood fire on a cold beach than a poolside pina colada. Think Banana Republic beachouse. Dark brown wood and cream decor. Palm fronds. 🌴 You are dressed in neutrals at the beach instead of conventional bright sunny colors. This is not Lily Pulitzer. *It's been a couple hours, I can smell more of the salt and sandlewood now.*

So I bought this one along with 4-5 of the others and this one is my favorite. However that wasn’t until the second time I tried it. The first time (immediately after it arrived) I thought it was rather boring and just ok. I’ve had it put away for the last 3-4 months. Today I heard somebody talking about it and decided to give it another shot. IM OBSESSED. It’s truly addictive. Very light and airy and sweet. I think the salt in it is what makes it so addictive. Just like the salt in chocolate chip cookies- takes the cookies to another level. It’s very very vanillic but the coconut adds some creaminess. This could honestly be worn year round and now I’m beginning to worry it will be discontinued so maybe I should get a back up. I sprayed two sprays of this on my wrist about 5 hours ago and I still catch whiffs of it. So it has decent longevity from what I can tell so far. LOVE.

This is such a pretty smell, I just wish that it lasted longer and had broader sillage. I have the roller so maybe that's why the range might not be as broad, but it lasts for so little and is too intimate for my liking. It does help when I put vaseline on and then the roller over it though. The scent is one of my favorites. I love Ariana Grande perfumes and if you told me that this was one of her scents I would absolutely believe you. I guess its the coconut, vanilla and musk combo which she uses a lot. It's not really a super tropical coconut smell, its more of a woody creamy coconut. It's sweet, but unlike the other sweet perfumes I have that make me feel young, girly and coquettish, this one makes me feel more feminine in a sexy and fancy-ish way. It's not a super fancy smell but I could really picture myself wearing this along with a light sage satin dress at a resort.

This fragrance was a perfect summer blind buy. On the initial spray, there are three distinct notes in the fragrance: salty seaweed, driftwood and musk, and is reminiscent of walking in a Hollister after a trip to the beach. On the dry drown, the driftwood note begins to meld and the musk becomes softer, and the dry and fresh coconut turns into a musky creamy vanilla coconut milk for the rest of the life of the fragrance. At this point, the nostalgia of eating coconut shaved ice with condensed milk came to mind. The silage is skin intimate, but if you layer it with a lotion and spray it on clothes, it is moderate. It lasts about 6 hours on my skin, as I could still smell after running errands during a cool morning to a hot afternoon. To me, for the price and the scent, it is a love.

I have the 5ml roll-on and I am planning on buying a full size when I finish it. It is the perfect vanilla coconut mix. It's a true coconut smell on my skin. For some reason, I have trouble finding a coconut scent that doesn't smell plastic, fake, and just strange on my skin. This is not too sweet so it doesn't vibe super young or cake-like. I haven't tried layering with it but, I imagine it would be perfect for that. I can't really smell the salt or seaweed but, maybe that's what gives it a natural and earthy coconut smell as opposed to a candied or plastic coconut smell. It lasts and has a moderate sillage but, is never overpowering. Simple, classic, and one of the best coconut scents I've tried.

I tested all the Mix:Bar scents at Target today. I didn’t like any but this & Tangerine Squueze. This is more of a want & the other a like so I walked away with just this. It reminds me of something I’ve smelled before, not exactly a perfume, but more like palmers cocoa butter in a perfume sort of way lol. I think this will be nicer if layered with another scent to give it some excitement. It does have a woody, coconut, musky vibe. It doesn’t project great, more of a close skin scent. Longevity is a couple hours. I’d personally wear this on a summer night. Nice for around $20 bucks.

I had never heard of this brand before, but wow !! This is a beautiful vanilla musk. I also smell salt, fresh coconut, and sandalwood. Very sensual, romantic, and more on the feminine side to me. Decided one day to blind buy this and I fell in love. It's so warm and addictive. What's amazing is that it lasts for a good amount of time, especially on my clothes. Fantastic perfume to wear daily in the spring and summer. It's not heavy or unsettling at all; I reach for it constantly.

I love this one. After seeing all the hype online about the vanilla bourbon and the cloud musk, I decided to go smell test a few of these at Target. This coconut palm one was my favourite by far, I'm shocked it hasn't gotten the same amount of attention as the two previously mentioned ones. I pair this with Tonka by solinotes and it's heaven. This also lasts a surprisingly long time considering the price point.

A lovely and underrated gem from the line. Mostly woody, with coconut softened by the vanilla and musk. It doesn’t give sunscreen or tropical, I love the “Palm” part of it making it more unisex than overly feminine (nothing wrong with that either I just appreciate a good woody scent). I can see it fitting well for a cool, cloudy beach day. Not a strong performer but for the price point im not mad about it.

Wonderful, somewhat basic (but not flat) coconut scent. If you're looking for a non-sugary, non-sunscreen coconut, you may find this to be perfect. It's beautiful and reminds me of coconut water that is a little sweet :) Would layer incredibly well with Cloud Musk. This is one of those coconut perfumes that won't make you feel nauseas or be bothersome to those around you.

I can see why has this is compared to Dirty Coconut, Coconut Cove and This Is Her. On me, I get a woody meets musk, with a salty vanilla coconut supporting it. It comes off as a professional "Fun Friday" kind of coconut fragrance without being a "party all the time" vibe. It feels like a sophisticated summer scent instead of a "Spring Break" scent. Wonderful.

This is a great scent! The coconut isn't super strong and instead I get a nice mix of a creamy vanilla sandalwood with a bit of a kick from the salt and the seaweed I would assume. Somehow it's tropical without being your typical fruity, coconutty summer scent. This is really nice with the Tangerine Squeeze layered over it - perfect for warm weather!

Really great for people who love muskier and warmer scents like me and struggle to find similar spring/ summer scents. The seaweed isn’t very strong—it’s there but it’s not overpowering. It dries down to a really creamy coconut milk on my skin that I absolutely LOVE. The sandalwood is what really makes this perfect in my opinion.

This is my first Mix:Bar purchase and I'm definitely going to be back for more. This is a lovely coconut, vanilla, musky scent. On my skin the coconut and vanilla are what stand out the most. It's sweet and summery without being straight up sunscreen-like. I love the bottle and for the price point you really can't go wrong.

Coconut and sandalwood- very light, more woody than coconut. Im a big fan BUT there is no sillage. ive come to the conclusion most coconut perfumes are skin scents. So I use it to layer with other coconut fragrances- Coconut and then coconut and then more coconuts and lastly coconuts and finally i may get some sillage.

im very picky when it comes to coconut scents. This one is not too artificial smelling or suntan lotion vibe. It is a subtle and creamy watery coconut. Just what I was hoping it would be. I wish it projected a little more but for the price its worth to have. I love catching whiffs of it whenever I wear it. yummy

Salty vanilla is one of my favourite things. This was a gift from someone who didn't know it was a US Target brand, and I am forever grateful they didn't or they might not have got it for me. I wear it alone or as a layer to add depth to florals.

Very nice and versatile as I use it for layering. Before getting it I was using Frosted Coconut Snowball from BBW. To me, they smell identical. Not a tropical coconut, more like a creamy/woodsy slightly sweet one.

This is a beyond pretty, creamy soft coconut with salt with vanilla. You're not gonna knock anyone's socks off with this, but who cares, it's lovely. I can see myself enjoying this in the summer and the winter!

Absolutely obsessed with this scent. For me the coconut and vanilla really stands out and it’s very woody. Love it though I can see how it could be a bit cloying in the heat and the longevity isn’t the best.

This is addictive. Smells like coconut ice cream with a little bit of salt. It’s decadent but also fresh. Absolutely delicious- to the point I feel like I need to grab a few more bottles so I never run out.

LOVE it. If there was ever a coconut to wear in fall and winter I feel like this is one. I got the mist & it's so pretty. Reminds me of Cloud but with more wood & musk maybe?

Really loving this, it reminds me of Commodity Milk Personal. Both the scent and minimalist frosted glass bottle read as more expensive than $20.

I like how this balances sweetness of the coconut and vanilla with a bit of sharpness from the sandalwood all rounded out by the mellow musk

This is my favorite scent from the line. It has the same musk scent as Light Blue Intense by D&G. Very musky and not too sweet.

Delicious. Creamy, with coconut, vanilla and woody notes. Not an "kiddish" summer scent. Snuggly and wonderful.

I had recently obtained a bottle of Coconut Palm by MixBar at a popular department store for a reduced price. The price was very reasonable making the risk of a blind-buy worthwhile. The fragrance itself is a more sophisticated coconut than a playful one. Coconut, Sandalwood & Vanilla are notes that play very well with together. The description of the fragrance being a fruity floral is inaccurate in my opinion. I did not experience any definitive fruit or floral notes. The wood notes create a more masculine leaning composition, but smooths out with the inclusion of a softer musk which ties in well to the composition as a whole making it unisex. Overall, my impression of this fragrance is favorable. Its an easy reach in summertime, and is really quite versatile. It layers well with other vanillas, sandalwoods, ambers, and also very well with patchouli. A great summertime fragrance to spritz on when you climb out of the pool and dry off, before meeting friends (or a date) out for dinner & drinks. It gives an air of classy tropical sophistication and will be sure to please those seeking a tropical-type fragrance but wishes to avoid smelling juvenile or like suntan lotion. THE VERDICT: EXCELLENT

I'm not one to tell people how to live their lives, but this absolutely does NOT work for me as a summer scent. I'm not sure if it's the ambroxan or musk or salt, but this perfume becomes an oppressive, sticky cloud on my skin at warmer temperatures, and I immediately want to scrub it off. However, in the winter, this feels like a warm, soft, cozy hug from someone who just got back from a midwinter vacation to somewhere warm, and feels like a perfect complement to a warm, soft sweater and fuzzy blankets. It's pretty, feminine, soft, and not *too* sweet. This is something I reach for after an evening shower and before bed, or if I'm working from home and want something comforting when the weather is ugly. With that said, this feels like the younger, less mature sister of Aerin's Amber Musk, which has several of the same notes--coconut, ambroxan, musk, sandalwood--and I definitely do not recommend either of these perfumes as blind buys, knowing how polarizing all of those notes can be. The main differentiator with Coconut Palm is the vanilla, which I'm super sensitive to, but it seems to work here. Be careful not to overspray though.

Got it as part of a discovery set at Ross. The opening is a very yummy vanilla and coconut, and few minutes later you get some of that saltiness. It's not a bad or overbearing salt, it's like a light beachy whiff that sits behind the vanilla. The coconut sticks around as the salt wavers and eventually goes away, but the coconut also fades rather fast behind it. For about 3hrs it projects moderately as a kind of plain warm vanilla, and after that I kind of went noseblind, but I was told at around 4-5hrs after that it's still there. After that, it does become a skin scent, and at around 8hrs is when it starts going away. I was expecting more coconut and salt notes but I suppose my skin syncs better with the vanilla, which I don't hate since I like vanilla. This was just a test I did staying home the whole day, spritzing twice on my chest right after a shower and moisturizing. How it performs when out and about, unsure. I'll update when I can.

This is a slightly greener version of Sunny Side Up by Juliette Has a Gun. This one smells a bit cheaper and less well-rounded. I wouldn't buy this as a full size, but I will use my tester! Edit: After using it a bit more, I'm really starting to like it. The woody smell is almost like a bamboo or palm smell, which I think makes this a bit more sophisticated than typical gourmand coconuts or sunscreen-y coconuts. And if you want to make it a bit more gourmand, you can layer it (I like layering it with Whipped Coconut Milkshake by Bath and Body Works). And the fact that it's pretty cheap at Target? I might need to buy it the next time I'm in the United States.

I get incense, sandalwood, and a slightly animalic musk, first on. Any other notes, including the coconut, are totally eclipsed to my nose. These notes overpower everything else for a couple of hours. The notes that finally emerge in the drydown are some sweetness from vanilla, and a faint coconut. It's not bad, I enjoy this one, but it does not match my concept of a "beachy" fragrance AT ALL, the name is misleading. I could see wearing this on a night out in the summer, but not in the heat of the day. It's mostly woody, and not very sweet. This is a definite try before you buy!

I saw people say this smells like a beachy fragrance but to me I feel like this this is for fall. It has cake/cookie quality about it . The sweetness in this reminds me of Midnight Amber Glow,Whipped Almond and Good Girl( not dupes) . I sprayed this on my arm in Target and when I left out I kept getting whiffs of sweet delicious dessert. I couldn’t tell if it was the Vanilla Bourbon or Coconut Palm so, I smelt my wrist again just to confirm and it was Coconut Palm. I immediately went back into Target to buy it . It’s only $20 so I feel like it was definitely worth it.

A woody coconut scent. I blind bought this because I knew I wanted it for layering coconut that isn’t too sunscreen-y. I like it. It pairs well with other summer fragrances where you’re looking to dial down the sweetness. I’m not worried about this one being too cloying in the summer, because I live in the desert where I need my scents to be heavy enough not to immediately evaporate in the hot months. Performance is commendable for a cheapie. I get about 6 hours out of it.

when i wear this on its own, the salt and seaweed notes are so sharp it somehow ends up smelling like toothpaste? it's harsh. i tried it again layered on top of cocoa butter lotion though and it smells heavenly! creamy, warm, almost cookie or salted caramel like, but not too sweet at all. perfect for warm summer days (although not super hot days, i could see this choking me a little if it's too warm) and oddly enough works well in cold weather too.

i really like this fragrance, but there’s something about it when you first spray it. it gives you a headache almost immediately, but when it settles, it turns into this beautiful watery coconut. i just can’t get around that nauseating initial spray, and even when you smell it through the bottle cap, it’s also really nauseating. so when i spray this perfume, i honestly have to hold my breath a little bit. other than that, it’s a great fragrance.

I really love mix bar so far. This fragrance in particular is really nice, especially considering its price range. It smells like biting into a coconut macaroon. It's a very gourmand coconut to me. I don't get any sunscreen vibes like I do with some other coconut fragrances. You need a few pumps to get good sillage, but at such an affordable price point I can't complain! If you're looking for a straight-to-the-point coconut fragrance this is it.

With the fantastic mix of notes: sandalwood, coconut, salt, vanilla, musk, it's very pleasant, very beachy, nice and musky, My only problem is it's more like a skinscent, very fleeting and ephemeral. Do I recommend it? For under $20, it's a safe, blind buy. You will use it up, but I'm sure it will make you dream of Aerin Lauder Hibiscus Palm. If you want a little fun in a bottle, buy Coconut Palm by Mix:Bar.

This fragrance has a very sharp opening, which gives it its unisex appeal. The initial burst is vibrant, slightly tangy, and cuts through the creamy coconut. It has very sophisticated undertones that might not appeal to everyone. I would say this isn’t a safe blind buy if you don’t like unisex cologne-like scents. Its a blend of sharp, sweet, and spicy.

Woody coconut and vanillic. Powdery, fresh, airy, slightly dry, slightly synthetic, smooth and soft spicy. A drop of sunscreeny opening but has a rich drydown. Strong. Comes off feminine leaning unisex frag. It's nice. Like to use it as a shoe, bathroom and eveything spray, nothing more.

A warm woody, powdery, slightly spicy (but not in an old lady way) coconut. I think you could wear this pretty much year round due to that warmth. Reminds me a bit of Juliette Has a Gun Vanilla Vibes, with added coconut. Great for the price!

Whenever I feel sad and guilty for splurging on Amouage, I douse myself in Mix:Bar Coconut Palm. Thank you Target for offering me a pathway toward financial / spiritual balance. Plus, I smell like a Key West vacation for hours.

Really impressed with this. Woody coconut, it's light and summery. Not too sweet or sunscreen-y. Layers so well with other things and could easily be masculine or feminine depending on what you wear it with.

At first I didn't like it(not sure why it was weird kinda fresh coconut) but then I tried it on my skin and it was different it was sweet could smell the vanilla as well kinda a skin scent.

I think this smells more expensive the price. It's wood-forward, musky, with touches of coconut. I wasn't sure I would like this one and was pleasantly surprised.

This is a very quiet, light scent for me, which is perfect for my job. It's fresh but a little creamy, not overly strong, not overly sweet. Good for the summer!
