Whipped Almond

This scent is a genuinely divine look into the dreams of a beloved toy maker, one who spreads joy through the town he blesses with his presence. It's sweet, comforting, and it has such a relaxed but warm overtone that makes it a simply divine fragrance. Almonds are heavy in this, but not the bitter kind, as you'd imagine - but just underneath is the scent of childhood wishes and memories alike. Perhaps the wish to return to a specific memory. Not quite the piney cinnamon of December, maybe early January. The children who celebrate their gift-giving holidays have all of their delightful toys spread around the home, the cakes have been eaten up, all that remains is the lovely memory of the depths of December snow. From this perfume, I get a lovely almond treat that is just too good to eat. True to the name, Whipped Almond smells like the whipped cream my mother makes when we have pancakes deep in the wintertime. She mixes in an almond extract that livens up the flavor and smells like heaven to my nose. I think it may be one of my favorite almond scents I've ever had the pleasure of sniffing. I do have qualms with the longevity, but I try to think of that in a less negative way. Just like the memories of childhood, this perfume is fleeting. It's perfect to spray on my pillow after a hard day, because the scent lingers in the fibers and I can almost smell it in my dreams. I wouldn't call Whipped Almond unique. I wouldn't even call it groundbreaking. But to the right person, it can smell like the things that made you the happiest.

This was a gift from my mother for christmas. I have used Mix:Bar before because I really like the brand- its a nice cheap way to get some more unique scents rather than the very similar, almost overwhelming yet simple cheap perfumes most department stores offer. When I smelled this in stores, I always skipped over it becuase it starts off VERY VERY sweet. I don't like sweet, so I immediately put it down and never picked it up again. I decided to give it a shot, mainly because my mother was staring at me as I opened my gift and really wanted me to try it. She knows how picky I am about fragrances, and I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I went ahead and lathered it on. Like my first experience with this fragrance, it was unbearably sweet at the beginning. I was practically GAGGING at how sweet it was. To my surprise, the sweetness dissapeared in about a minute and the smell I was left with was AMAZING. I never considered almond perfumes untill now because I assumed they would all taste like almond flavored desserts (gross), but in this perfume its very nutty, soft, and even a little bitter sweet. It works perfectly with the soft lactonic scent. Unfortunately it doesn't last as long as I'd like, because WOW I would love for it to last forever. I have the body spray instead of the perfume however, so maybe the perfume will last longer. I like to layer it with amber or fig perfumes. TLDR: Don't judge it from how horribly sweet it as at first! It ends up a really nice nutty, soft, bittersweet, lactonic scent.

It's safe to say Whipped Almond has surpassed Vanilla Bourbon as my absolute favorite fragrance from Mix:Bar. I've been wearing this for a few days, and i fall deeper in love with each wear. If you've watched my story, I mentioned that this smells EXACTLY like Bath & Body Works' Almond Blossom. I've dreamed about Bath & Body Works making some of my favorite mists into Perfumes, and it's like Mix:Bar read my mind. Now I'm not saying it was their intent to mimic an existing fragrance, but I'm glad they did, intentional or unintentional. Whipped Almond is indeed alluring and addictive. All I get is sweet and creamy Almonds. I don't get much of the Sandalwood. On my skin, this performs on the borderline of weak and moderate. It doesn't last as long as the Almond Blossom, but it has better sillage in the 3 and a half hours it lasted. For $19.99(Yes, it went up $1), I can't really complain. (Proceeds to complain a little😂)But I do wish Mix:Bar would make their fragrances more concentrated, so that they would last longer. But then AGAIN, for a fragrances under $20, you get what you pay for. Their amazing scents kind of compensates for the performance. Whipped Almond and Vanilla Bourbon last the longest on my skin, which is why i have a back ups for both. Speaking of Vanilla Bourbon, it pairs so well with Whipped Almond & Almond Blossom. If you love Almond fragrances, I'm confident you can't go wrong with this. Scent: 10/10 Packaging: 6/10 Performance: 4.5/10

The perfume opens every so slightly floral before drying down to the deliciously rich, sweet, almond heaven scent (the body spray doesn't have the lighter floral top note, it just goes straight into the sweet cozy dry down). I have and love both, although the longevity is pretty short (about 3 hours for both). Not surprising for a Target perfume. It's a good deal, but when you compare the price per ounce to ME perfumes (which usually have much better performance), it's not the most amazing deal. Keep your eye out at Marshall's, I've found the perfume there for $13/50ml and the body spray for $7. I would LOVE a longer-lasting perfume of this exact scent profile, but unfortunately it seems stuck in the body spray category (sweet, inoffensive, unsophisticated, crowd pleaser). I wish one of the ME dupe houses would make a version of this with better longevity, it would be a powerhouse, but since this scent isn't "sophisticated" enough to be made by one of the expensive perfume houses, we'll probably never see a better long lasting version of it. I put some in a travel bottle to keep at work and I'll just respray often. I stocked up with multiple bottles from Marshall's though, because low key this is actually an impressively beautiful scent. One of my favorites to wear right now (fall/winter), if only it lasted longer! I think it would be great year-round. The sweetness is delicious in the cold weather, but not heavy or cloying in the heat.

I am a fan of MixBar fragrances because if one is too sweet, or not sweet enough, you MIX scents by layering it with another. I have all of them but my favorites are Whipped Almond, Wood Elixir and Vanilla Bourbon. Whipped Almond mixed with Wood Elixir (which is my #1 fave) makes a lovely fragrance. Pear Blossom and Whipped Almond are lovely, as well as Coconut Palm and Whipped Almond make a really beautiful sweet, coconutty blend. There really are hundreds of fragrances in your arsenal if you have all of these scents and it's much less expensive than buying 2 or 3 niche, or designer fragrances! That being said, Whipped Almond is a sweet, caramelized nut (praline?) fragrance to my nose.. Simple but complex, with no fruity or floral notes that I pick up. If you like sweeter scents, you'll love it. Don't let the word "almond" deter you because it does NOT have any hint of cherry. The nuttiness is more of a caramelly nut to me than anything else. It definitely doesn't smell like almonds. That would be cyanide.

Whipped Almond is sweet, warm, powdery, and comforting. It's lovely for bedtime or cozy days at home. It would also make a wonderful and affordable everyday signature. It's almost like a combination of a waffle cone + bath powder. I think the performance is great for the price, and the frosted glass bottle is nice too. The heart of this sometimes reminds me of Viva La Juicy Gold (golden) with a hint of the current EDT version of Hypnotic Poison in the drydown. The mix of vanilla and almond is delicious! The opening resembles Boardwalk Delight, just a little. It isn't really like anything else though. Whipped Almond stands on its own! I think it's the best of the Mix:Bar line. I love this cheapie because it doesn't smell cheap at all. This is also great for smoothing the edges or adding warmth and sweetness to other fragrances. P.S. I reach for this most when I need to relax. It gives loving maternal or Auntie vibes. A hug in a bottle fragrance.

If you take Pistachio Yum by Kayali (or Paris Corner Khair Pistachio) and replace the pistachio with a generic cherry almond note, its damn near the same perfume. Where these pistachio frags are a bit fruity and juicy, Whipped Almond is slightly creamy and powdery. *edit the next day: this is actually most similar to Lattafa Affection which is a near dupe of Khair Pistachio, hilariously I gave Affection away to my SIL and every time she wore it I swooned. I’m glad to have a dupe for it now :)* Like someone below said “this smells like a well-groomed person, good for a job interview.” I feel like it mimics a white flower, baby powder clean scent while hovering in the sweet and sticky cotton candy universe. Like if Jergens lotion and Caress body wash had a love-child. This smells nothing at all like Shaghaf Oud Tonka, despite sharing the almond cherry note. I own them both and they’re worlds apart.

This is a wonderful little purchase I just made from Target! It is sweet, fluffy and so comforting! I usually am careful with almond scents because they can pull very bitter on my skin but this one is just beautiful and yummy. The lactonic notes are not huge but they are a supportive note to the almonds. I do not really detect any iris or florals in this scent. I’d almost wear this to bed just because it is so cozy... Longevity is not great but it’s not that big of a deal to me. I would wear it alone or layered with other scents, either way, it’s just beautiful! All in all, I absolutely recommend to try this one if you are a gourmand or almond lover, it is very nice and you can’t beat that price either...

Whipped Almond and Vanilla Bourbon are the coziest scents I own and if I ever get a whiff of Mix:Bar closing... I'm going to have to hoard back-ups. I just cannot get over the fact that these are around the $20 price point. As to how they stack up - Whipped Almond is just as sweet as VB - but to me VB isn't overly sweet itself. Both are definite gourmands, warm and cozy. Both do have a powdery quality to them, but not overly so. I usually don't like a powdery note, so I really feel it's not too strong with these. I don't lose the almond or cake-iness on the dry down, the almond is so interwoven with the sandalwood that I smell it throughout the wear.

I'm new to fragrance, so I haven't smelled enough almond perfumes to compare Whipped Almond to other almond scents, but this fragrance is wonderful! It's sweet, comforting, and great for an everyday fragrance. I bought this bottle last August, and I've used over half of it. I've smelled most of the Mix:Bar scents, and this is definitely in the top 3. I haven't been huge on super vanilla-heavy fragrances, and Whipped Almond provides a similar vibe/brings a similar comfort without the vanilla scent to it. This was my first ever fragrance, so it will always have a spot on my shelf.

I'd been searching for a lactonic gourmand without the vanilla note (which had proven to be quite hard). Until I came across this sweet little gem on sale for only $14 at my local chemist! What a lovely little fragrance. Nutty and creamy and sweet but not sickly to my nose. It's like wrapping yourself up in your favourite cardigan. I think this would later very well with a fragrance that you'd wish to 'warm up'. For the price it's worth a blind buy and play around with for fragrance combos.

This is a combination of two of my favorite things distilled in a bottle - Disaronno and candied, Christmas nuts. It doesn't give much as far as sillage, and maybe it'll last an hour. It's definitely Cheroisa '62's winter mate, and as maddeningly short-lived on the skin. Nonetheless, I still love it. It's my bedtime treat, and I douse my pillows and sheets in it. As long as you manage your expectations about projection and longevity, it's a very lovely addition for the price.

Best scent from the mix bar range.. though i'm torn between this and vanilla bourbon. But I love the creamy vanilla whipped almond note in this that makes it so delicious, perfect comfort snuggle scent. Also good for an autumn afternoon wedding with a long white sleeveless dress. Love mixing it with vanilla bourbon and you will smell like a delicious whipped cream vanilla almond candy flower. Get this. This together with the VB are absolute must haves. Definite repurchase.

I got the mix bar sampler set, and whipped almond was the one I was looking forward to most. Safe to say I was not disappointed! Almond scents are really hit or miss for me, as it is one of my favorite smells, as it’s easy for them to lean too cherry chapstick smelling. Whipped almost is bright, creamy, nutty, and surprisingly good quality for a target perfume. I have been layering this with Burberry Her to make it more appropriate for winter and have loved it!!

It smells just like amaretto in the top notes, which I LOVE, but it dries down so quickly to a musky, slightly almondy, skin scent. It also has very little projection, so I have to stick my nose in my wrist to smell it. I ordered it from Target online, and only added it to my cart to satisfy the minimum $35 per order to have my items shipped, and it arrived leaking. There are a lot better drugstore scents with a lot better packaging for less than $20 out there.

i absolutely adore this fragrance!!! it’s so light and sweet, very inoffensive and wearable. to me it smells very creamy, i get a lot of almond in the beginning but it fades away in the dry down. my only wish is that the performance is better because it’s very weak, but honestly for the price i can’t complain and it smells so yummy that it’s worth it. even though i think it works best in colder months, it’s so light that u could easily wear this year round

Did not expect to fall for this fragrance as hard as I did! Wonderfully creamy and sweet, nutty and cozy. Perfect for layering with a vanilla and great on its own. I imagine wearing this while reading or on a rainy day. There’s a fruity note in the very beginning that I love, and I get soft sweater and cashmere vibes from this! However the longevity and projection are incredibly disappointing. If it lasted longer and projected more, this would be a go-to.

Everyone hypes the vanilla bourbon scent from mixbar, but this is the one that deserves all the hype! Layer who? You don’t need to! This perfume smells great on its own. The body spray is just as strong as well. Nutty, warm and milky and delicious. Much longer lasting than the former as well. I love finding good cheapies, and this one smells great. Perfect for the cooler months.

Lactonic, sweet almond with a lovely, lightly powdery dry down. Whipped Almond is more of a marzipan-y almond than a cherry almond. Sweet, but not cloying at all. It's my absolute favorite before bed fragrance for any time of year, just so comforting and soft. Put this on after a shower in comfy pj's before you climb into clean sheets and it's pure heaven.

Lovely, creamy, milky almond with a hint of spicy sandalwood. So gorgeous and comforting, as a milky scent should be! I really like to spray this on before bed because it is just downright snuggly. As with others in the line, it is also awesome for layering. Definitely don't sleep on this one--put it in your Target cart now.

I’m not sure if this is considered gourmand but this is the kind of gourmand that I enjoy. Soft powdery but a little sweet, kind of like an almond cookie. I like layering this with other skin musk perfume to add a bit of sweetness without being a vanilla scent.

This is BEAUTIFUL. Edible and whimsical in a winter dreams sort of way. It has zero projection and less than that lasting power, which makes me wonder why it’s producers didn’t care about our feelings. Worth every bit of the $20 list price at target.

This scent is gorgeous. I use it with the bbw midnight amber glow. The combination lasts all day or night but sits close to the skin. In the daytime i may add a edp like d&g the only one or burberry her.

A nice, light nutty scent, not loud at all. Very reminiscent of Genre Almond Musk. This is light enough to be my bedtime scent tonight. I could see layering this with other almond centered scents.

So so good! It’s a sweet warm scent, perfect for any occasion. I actually liked this better than the popular vanilla bourbon one. It’s also a perfect mixer perfume with floral scents!

For the price point this is amazing. I love it. It's on par with bath and body works but does last longer than the body splashes for sure. It's sweet, and almondy and smells so good.

This is beautiful on its own but I also believe I’ve found the perfect scent to layer with Noble Blush to bring out the almond and subdue the overbearing rose milk opening.

This is a beautiful lactonic almond, the floral notes stop it from being too sweet and add a nice softness to it. I really love this fragrance. I wish it lasted longer.

the dry down smells like the nostalgic cabbage patch doll heads in the best way. best for fall and winter as i find it too cloying in the warmer months!

Whipped Almond has a “VS PINK body mist” kind of smell (IYKYK .. sweet, summery, airy, watery, fresh-from-the-shower vibe)... but a little more elevated. The almond is surprisingly not too doughy on me, and the iris adds a little powderyness that’s most evident toward the end of the day. Unfortunately, it doesn’t perform like an EdP .. it’s really just one step above body spray in terms of longevity and projection. I’m a little torn .. other than the callouts above, it has a very nondescript feel to it. Does that add to its ease of use and overall appeal? Maybe it blends with my body chemistry too well, to the point where it becomes unnoticeable to me? Or are its somewhat generic composition and mediocre lasting power strikes against it? I would like for Whipped Almond to be more gourmand .. sweeter and with a truer almond extract note that really lasted (still looking for that fragrance!) ... but, as it is, it’s a nice fragrance. I’m sure this’ll be perfect for “light fragrance” days in the late spring/early summer.

I bought this specifically because I saw it recommended as a dupe for the tragically discontinued Bath and Body Works Almond Blossom (and its predecessor, Almond and Vanilla.) The initial spray was nearly identical to Almond Blossom. When it dries down, the similarity lessens. Whipped Almond has a bit more of a generic "perfumey" scent and also leans a bit syrupy and potentially cloying, which I typically avoid. I think I'm missing the musk that rounded out Almond Blossom and kept it from being overwhelmingly sweet. That being said, I do overall enjoy this fragrance as someone whose top three most beloved notes include almond and milk. We almond lovers vary in preference as the note may be powdery, sweet, nutty, or any combination of the three. I recommend trying this scent for those who, like me, love almond most when it is sweet and lactonic.

I've read on multiple platforms that this is a dupe of B&BW Almond Blossom (which I am DEEPLY familiar with, it's one of my most worn scents ever, I'm on my 2nd bottle)...and it isn't. This is a warmer, toastier and more gourmond almond. It's lightly salty, cozy, and *moreish*. Almond Blossom is more floral, and rich in a luxe body product way. A.B has my heart and soul though. I enjoy this so much though, and I'm actually pretty irritated because I wanted a bottle, but all of them at Walmart were partially spayed (not just the on in front that should be a tester) or had busted nozzles. It's lovely though, and smells like a mix of almondy cookies, cakes and maybe even roasted street nuts from a cart in the air. It's has great diffusion (it seems like Mix:Bar fragrances all do) and wafts around in a gentle, but enticing way.

When first sprayed, it gives off a Bath and Body works body spray type vibe, not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but there's just a hollow, semi cloying, sharp, bright sweet sheen over it. After a little while that sheen fades, and the resultant dry down is actually pretty enjoyable. Its a soft almond surrounded by tiny macarons, potpourri, and sweets. Its like eating almond ice cream at a fancy tea party, deluged with sparkly pink glassware set with squares of sugar-strewn strawberry turkish delight. Its a very perfumey perfume, if that makes sense, all unidentifiable pink petals and almost stringent floral accords. Doesnt last too long or project amazingly. Good bedtime or brunch scent.

Gentle and inviting, this scent exudes coziness. I initially purchased it during the summer and found it pleasant but not remarkable. However, as autumn arrives and the air turns cooler, I find myself drawn to it more. I detect notes of vanilla, almond, and a hint of cherry sweetness, reminiscent of amaretto. Unfortunately, my main issue with this scent is its longevity. I opted for the hair and body mist version, but it fades quickly, making it one of the least long-lasting options I've tried. I wouldn't repurchase the hair and body mist, but I might consider the perfume version in the future. The scent is lovely but it didn't have a lasting impression on me so I think I'll likely pass.

This is a very nice, sweet vanilla scent, with a slightly almond opening. On its own it doesn't last long, which is a shame. But, it's perfect for layering. I put it over Akro's Dark and it turned into a lovely vanilla chocolate dream. This is a comfort perfume. Something you wear to bed. It's like a soft cuddly blanket ... It's a great price, so you can feel free to spray liberally. The bottle is not awkward to carry in your handbag like some of them are. Men like this one a lot. I'm a barber so I wear it to work, touch it up in the restroom before a client. And the tips flow.. whether I'm cutting or shaving or massaging, they love the vanilla cloud. 😊

almond-y, but a super sweet, sugary almond; think almond extract or Jordan almond candy, even. it veers almost into being a cherry scent to me. Mix:Bar scents are good for layering, as the brand name might imply, so I think this would layer well with a similar sweet gourmand fragrance. longevity is fine, clocking in at a good 4 hours, but it doesn't project very far. it sits on my skin the same way a scented lotion would. to get it to project further and last longer you'd definitely have to overspray, but for the price it's tolerable. a lovely cold weather scent at a bargain price!

For the price, this is freaking AMAZING. Heck this is amazing period! Sweet roasted almonds blended in milk (not the nauseating kind), with slight hint of iris. This is a dream for me as it has all the notes I absolutely LOVE. What I wanted Italica to be. Update: Sigh...excitement soon faded when i discovered that i may be allergic to this product. Made my throat burn. Longevity also sucks. You really just get what you pay for. I have experimented with enough "lower priced" perfumes at this point to know to just avoid them. I still think the scent is amazing.

Not a bad base fragrance. It is cozy and warm and perhaps some might feel it to be too synthetic, but it does warm on the skin fairly quickly and nuttiness is nice. I really love the almond milk combo and it's something I am drawn to. I can see myself using this as a layering fragrance as it is intended, and it would work well. I find longevity quite good overall; I can still smell it after quite a few hours. Projection is limited unless you do team it with stronger fragrance. 7/10

The beginning is a bit too much, but whatever that was does eventually wear off, and the drydown is creamy, sweet, and lovely. I think my SO likes it on me more than I like it on me. I like it plenty, but there are other perfumes that are my favorite because I don't have to sit through the initial phase of not-that-great. For the price, though? An excellent daily perfume that I feel 0% guilty about spraying. I went through a decent amount of it in late summer and early fall.

I bought a sample set from this brand mostly for this scent. I wasn’t wow’d. HOWEVER...I just came back to it (it’s been a couple years) and this is actually very nice. It’s a bit sweet for my liking, but the powder and softness of iris tempers the almond. The sandalwood brings a bit of depth and creaminess. Pretty and for the price a great deal. (My favorite almonds are Blu Indaco and Confetto for reference .)

I was worried this would be more of a sugary gourmand, but it really isn't. Yes, it's sweet, but it doesn't smell like an almond cake or something like that. I get the sandalwood very strongly, almost more than the almond. I got this looking for something that smells like the Burt's Bees almond & milk hand cream, and in that regard it's not that similar, but, I do like this. Solid 7/10. Hard to beat the price.

Strong lasting scent with moderate silliage. This brand is good value and creates very accurate and natural representations of its scent notes. This smells like a very comforting dessert. It is almond and vanilla. Warm, somewhat feminine, and slightly sweet. I have only tried a skin test but I am considering buying it as these perfumes are great for layering and deepening their star notes in other perfumes.

I have been searching high and low for an affordable almond fragrance. I want to smell like almond extract or the dr bronner’s almond body wash. I picked this up. I do like it. I don’t get any almond from it at all unfortunately. And I have to reapply every 2 hours. For the price point it’s decent. I honestly think it smells more “milk and honey” than mixbar’s milk/honey scent. Overall it’s just ok for me.

Opens with a creamy nuttiness, then dries down to more of a sweet vanilla. The almond is subtle and sort of shy. It reminds me of vanilla hazlenut coffee but without the coffee. It's a soft sweater in fragrance form. I have the hair and body mist and it lasts quite awhile on my hair, not so much on my body. It smells like sitting in a cafe with a good book. Sort of unremarkable but cozy and comforting.
