Ambre Magique

This scent!!! What can I say, I have a collection of over 100, mostly niche and this fragrance has won over my heart!! I am a ambroxan girlie thru and thru. Favorite parts of my collection is fresh clean scents. Think JHAG Superdose, another 13, MFK 724 and Byredo Blanche & Inflorescence. I love sweets but I get bored with them and tend to not wear them. Enter Ambre Magique, It’s magical! Smooth, sweet and utterly delicious 😋 I cannot wait to use this ALL Fall and Winter ♥️

The first 30 seconds of this fragrance is magical and sparkling! Burst of bright rose, ambergris, and cardamom! It dries down to a more slightly smokey, powdery ambery vanilla, which is still beautiful. But I wish the opening was maintained for at least half the lifetime of the fragrance. Lasts all day especially on clothes. Not a beast mode frag, but it sure lingers well. The gorgeous white bottle is also looks amazing on my vanity! Very lovely and unique fragrance IMO

Help!! I tried this and I loved it! But then I felt it was so familiar, so I guess it is similar to one of the fragances I already own, but which one? I do not know... Do you think it smells similar to The Bewitching Yasmine by Penhaligons, Sweet Rose by Rosendo Mateu, or Fables d'Orient by L'Artisan Parfumair? Sorry, I just tried it on the shop but couldn't check with these ones that I have at home. Anyone can advise? Thank you!

I just received a sample of this, and within 30 seconds, I knew I was buying a full bottle. It starts out with a sweet, ambroxan amber and finishes off with a very smooth Tonka (it is not listed, but it is there). And, it is NOT the Play Doh Tonka mind you, like in BDK, THIS is done with spectacular expertise. WOW 9.5/10. There is not another fragrance like this. Senor Morillas, you are the VERY BEST at your craft.

This was the stand out for me from what I’ve tried from Mizensir. Smells elegant, niche, rich and interesting. Starts out with an enticing incense and slight citrus floral accord but as it dries down the salty amber becomes more pronounced. I don’t want to compare it to Olympea because they are very different scents but if Olympea had an older, richer, classier, Aunty.... This would be her.

I like this...it is nice...a subtle amber fragrance; it has something different that I can't quite describe. I think it's the vanilla, but it isn't a traditional vanilla scent. It almost has a medicinal quality but very faint medicinal. Not enough to make it off putting but it isn't perfectly smooth. It may be the rose throw it off a bit...just not sure. It's a strong like but not a love.

Absolutely stunning amber fragrance! I tried so hard to love grand soir, but it was just too much for me. It was almost masculine. I ordered a sample of this and immediately fell in love. The perfect date night scent! I don't typically like orange blossom or rose, but still love the combo in this scent. Highly recommend!

I don’t understand the hate on this one. To my nose it’s a beautiful rich vanilla amber scent.. something like Lira meets Grand Soir. Yes the price point is a little on the steep side.. but I wouldn’t knock the scent. It’s clearly a subjective piece, going off the previous comments - so just sample before purchasing 😊👍🏻

Absolutely stunning perfume ! Strong,sweet,buzzy, spice 😍 On my skin is sooo long lasting and sweet, one of my current favourites . It is your typical evening, elegant and colder weather scent ( in my case all year round as I love it so much). A must try for perfume lover and a staple piece in perfume collection .

Magic indeed, this is a satisfyingly straightforward yet sensual amber- vanilla. This was an instant love for me. It has gourmand elements thanks to the sweet spicy cardamom juxtaposed with creamy vanilla and dreamlike amber. This is creamy, cosy, warm and inviting. I need a bottle!

Beautiful fragrance, slightly disappointed that its a higher price point than the other Mizensir fragrances that I love but lasts and lasts especially with a couple of a spritz on clothes. Agree with Farangismua - I detect a hint of Oud that compliments the fragrance.

This is divine and quite underrated as I don’t hear many people talking about this fragrance as much as other Mizensir perfumes. It’s a stunning ambery vanilla with some freshness - really elegant and kind of gives that expensive body lotion kind of vibe.

Sweet, Amber vanilla with that molecular note similar to JHAG not a perfume. I’ve never smelled anything like this. I love it, but I am sure I’ll enjoy it more in fall and winter.

Beautiful! Perhaps my favorite from Mizensir, but very similar to Atkinsons Gold fair in Mayfair which I already have and think I prefer because of its longevity.

I usually don't like animalistic amber scents, but this is truly an operatic creation of very unique and elegant scents.

This is a masterpiece for special ocasions, not unisex its more women scent, georgeus👌

To me, there is magic happening here...🤩 But I do not have the words to accurately describe it... The first spritz actually smelled like young, crispy and fresh cut carrots 🥕🥕🥕🥕 Seriously!! Not that it is a bad thing per se...after the perfume settles, I can smell the cardamom (though it is somewhat shy) and the vanilla waaay in the background...Then, I smell some cinnamon (I know it isn’t in the notes but it’s what I get) and a certain warmth...there is a buttery-ness to it as well...or creaminess in a way. The fresh carrots have all but evaporated to leave room for a warm and creamy scent with the vanilla finally taking center stage. As the scent evolves, I smell powdery elements that remind me of expensive makeup. I don’t know...I seriously was not expecting this... This perfume is nicely executed, it has layers and I am actually quite impressed. It is very delicate, the way Cuir Béluga was delicate. It isn’t at all the same as Cuir Beluga, it’s just that Ambre Magique and Cuir Béluga are both shy, delicate and almost mystical scents, in my opinion. There’s something synthetic-ish that I cannot put my finger on...it allows the scent to project quite a bit but this isn’t a “loud” fragrance, you know? It’s quite pretty and at the same time puzzling...I absolutely did not detect any rose nor did I smell mandarin nor did I smell any orange blossom...weird, huh? I know I am not explaining this very well at all and you are all going to think I am nuts because I did smell carrots but hey, it’s what I perceive, or more accurately, it’s what my nose perceives...😬😬 All in all, Ambre Magique smells very nice. I can definitely smell the Mizensir softness, Alberto Morillas has this signature DNA he has imbued in all of his fragrances. Delicate, refined, classy and soft are the few words that come to mind when I smell Mizensir perfumes. Ambre Magique is definitely all of that with an added note of powdery yummy-ness 🥕🧈🍰🍶☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️✨✨✨ A must try, for sure!!

I received my sample via the newbie traveling box. To me this is nearly 50-50 vanilla and amber or sandalwood. I can get a hint of rose if I really try, but since I don't love rose, I'm happy to just let this be a simple ambery-sweet scent. I do like it, but it's missing some extra little something that would make me want to reach for it. Though I imagine it would be a great base for layering, as it's so straightforward. Edit several months later: I find myself reaching for my sample more often than I would have thought. It's a lovely, comforting scent to wear on cold days or before bed. It's very feminine without being too sweet or girlish, with an undertone of something a little salty/mineral (ambergris?) adding interest. The rose note occasionally pops up unexpectedly, but it's a fluffy gentle rose, with no metallic or green facets to jar with the soft vanilla and amber. If any of those notes are your thing, this is definitely worth trying.

Lovely blend of rose, vanilla and analmalstic notes without it veering too far down that road. This reminds me of Montale's Intense Cafe in so many ways but is a bit more restrained. If you are a fan of Intense Cafe you are sure to enjoy Ambre Magique. I still prefer Tiziana Terrenzi's Delox when it comes to this type of scent, but they are all quite yummy Long lasting at 10 hours with good silage for the first 5 hours with 2-3 sprays

It’s super spicy and very Oriental. I can definitely picture it on some beautiful Arab lady, because it’s sweet, it’s powerful, it’s stunning. I’m detecting lots of saffron here mixed with soft jammy flowers (I imagine rose and tuberose) snd rich woody and ambery base. It’s blended beautifully! Sooo cozy, ladylike, a little vintage but still cute and wearable. Musky and powdery, reminds me of the color white but textured , like cotton wool. Powdery from all those petals, and lovely vanilla drydown - like a cosmetic product, luxury and oldschool one.

First sniff of this is quite serious, gave me the feeling of: I have to show that I am important in a business setting. However, as it dries down, it becomes the coziest vanilla fragrance! I am not a big fan of vanillas anymore, but this one is super lovely.

This is a nice spicy men’s cologne, not too hard not too soft just right in the middle. I don’t find it to be unisex, though, or as a woman, I would have to layer this with something very feminine to wear it.

Word of caution that the notes on the Mizensir website are different than here. What I got in the opening was a citrusy amber. It then goes into a lightly spiced and woody scent that reminds me of a high-end potpourri with dried orange slices, dried rose petals, cardamom pods, and sticks of sandalwood. Without checking the notes, I’m not sure I’d be able to uniquely pick up on those elements as this is quite a light scent. It also goes to a skin scent quickly. I’m not getting the same punch in projection as with For Your Love. Overall, I don’t think this is worth it compared to For Your Love. It’s just ok. It smells luxurious but too light and not stand-out enough for me to want to keep wearing this.

Based on a sample. Linear, consistent, woody, musky, warm. Smells like ambergris with a bit of sweetness (presumably vanilla). Performance is excellent. I'll be honest, I wouldn't want to wear, or be too close to someone wearing this. It's not disgusting but it sort of blocks the air, it's too much. The other 'magique' thing about this is the price, especially if you're the retailer..... 2.5/5

Lots of ambroxan amber and cardoman. An in-your-face winter perfume with good performance. Too strong for me or for office wear, but I can see a headstrong 50-something elegant Parisian woman totally rocking this. I dont get any rose at all, but the orange notes come in and out in a very pleasant way.

Creamy and unisex amber and vanilla scent but you definitely have to like both cardamom and cachalox/cetalox/ambroxan (synthetic ambergris/musk). I love Mizensir but don't like cardamom-forward scents, and I am also sensitive to certain synthetic notes/molecules, so this is sadly a no-go for me.

Ambre Magique... is like a magic trick which has failed in front of a crowd of thousands. An embarrassing and defeating failure which doesn’t even warrant hate, but will just be forgotten instead. They must have forgotten to put an amber accord in here, for it is nowhere to be seen. Vanilla is present at least, it’s sweet and creamy and quite pleasant, actually. However it’s from here that problems arise - a warming cardamom is coupled with plasticky orange blossom and then worst of all: cachalox. Of course I don’t know what cachalox smells like in isolation, but it’s a pretty safe bet that it’s this material giving the scent this overall cheapness about it. It doesn’t smell warming, cosy or how you would expect an amber fragrance to smell at all. It just smells like a disinterested perfumer chucked together a load of synthetic wood molecules to create something which smells pleasant, but nothing else. The moment I take my nose away from my arm I’ve already forgotten what it smells like. Painfully boring.

Omg. I don’t even know what to say about this one. There is something in this that absolutely assaults my nose. It’s suffocating and chemical. Ambergris, though I have this in other scents and it’s not an issue? Whatever chashalox is? It’s all that I can smell and it’s nuclear. I get no other notes at all. This one is definitely not for me.

The ambergris in this is very strong and prominent, to my nose I get more ambergris than Amber, and as an Amber lover I really don’t like this fragrance, it makes my stomach turn, nauseating ☹️

Am I missing something here because this clearly needs to be named Ambergris Magique? My Neiman's SA gave me several samples of this to try and sheezus!!! It smells like I doused myself in a vat of animal musk that Tiziana Tirenzi and Montale uses. That Ambergris/ musk note just overshadows everything...as a matter of fact, if anybody finds the amber note in this overpriced frag, let me know!

This review is for the music lovers out there. Randomly, I sprayed Ambre Magique on one hand, and Oud Satin Mood on the other. I don't think they really compare, except that they both use rose, but the rose in Magique is pretty subtle (not so with OSM). No, it was simply random, and I'm just a fragrance geek who likes comparing scents when I'm sitting around and chilling out. They're both masterpieces in their own right, but going back and forth between the two, I realized, being a pianist, that Ambre Magique, created by Alberto Morillas (and others from the Mizensir line, I'm guessing), is like Beethoven's last three piano sonatas, Op. 109, 110, 111. Absolute works of art by a creator at the pinnacle of his abilities. And I'm sure Señor Morillas isn't close to being done, just like it didn't stop for Beethoven with his last piano sonatas. He still had his late string quartets to write, and the 9th Symphony. Mr. Kurkdjian's Oud Satin Mood is more like one of Beethoven's earlier masterpieces, the Pathetique, or perhaps the Waldstein. Outstanding, but not yet at Señor Morillas's level. So I guess the short and sweet version is, if you're interested in an amber fragrance, you must get your nose on this gem. There's more nuance in this from initial spray to dry-down than my nose can distinguish. It's just beautiful. I'm not saying that everyone has to like this, but there's no question it's worthy of sampling. The other thing to take away from this review is that it's also going to be pretty awesome to see what Francis Kurkdjian is doing when he's Morillas's age!

My hot take on this fragrance: I’ve become a huge fan of Mizensir, but this one is just ok. On my skin after an hour it’s 85% vanilla, Not really “amber”. 10% are floral and spices hint. 5% boosting molecules. All Mizensir fragrances smell different on clothes, I recommend you to test it too, usually the musks and synthetic are persistent on fabric and give the fragrance a special touch than skin. In this case, the vanilla combined with the synthetic molecules truly remind me of the endless vanilla designer/ clones out there. Is it high quality? yes, There is nothing “wrong” with this, it’s good, but not for me, missing the layers the other Mizensir’s have. If you are a true vanilla fun try it! (I’m clearly not). “Normal” people will f’ing love this smell tho. I’ll revisit, maybe I’m missing something.

...chlupatý/hebce plyšový (fakt vnímatelné jemné hedvábné mikrochloupky plyše) pomerančový květ s delikátním množstvím kardamonu, ale opravdu jen velmi velmi decentní/akurátní množství pro příjemné ozvláštnění květů pomerančovníků, oslazeno mandarinkovou šťávou - opět mohérové provedení nasládlosti z mandarinek, nebo spíše pouze takové tichounké nasládlé ševelení a toto všechno obklopuje vláčně prachový opar spředený z hedvábných nitek benzoinových pryskyřic, vznášejících se kolem jak pavučinková vlákénka ve slunečném dni... Velmi jemná, téměř tělová(v dobrém smyslu slova) vůně. Hladivá, uklidňující, milá, nekofliktní, líbivá, vhodná klidně jako dárek pro lidi, kteří mají rádi pocit jemně provoněné pokožky, kteří nechávají k sobě přivonět jen těm vybraným... Na můj vkus intimní příliš.

Sensual Vanilla !! The ambery nuances in this perfume is magical , quite an unique blend , opens with spices, citruses and florals - orange blossom and rose . The rose in this is subtle. Cardamom and ambergris - These 2 notes are making this unisex. Will definitely shine on cold evenings . The opening reminds me of MFK’s Grand Soir and the dry down is the part which I love about this perfume reminds me of Matiere Premiere’s : Vanilla Powder . So if you like Grand Soir and Vanilla Powder you might like this one . Not suitable for blind buy !!

This is a beautiful scent. Sweet amber and jasmin. Very feminine...but unfortunately it has a note that is giving me a headache and an overwhelming feeling in my sinuses. Whatever aromachemical it is ...I can't stand it. I don't remember anything with "Cashalox" but this makes me feel ill...it has to be similar to nasty Ambroxan...How sad. This scent could have been great but I can't tolerate the aromachemicals used. Good for the ones who don't feel bothered by the new aromachemicals. I pass.

Just ordered a sample of this, reading the review I am exicted, I LOVE ambroxan scents, and Molecule 02 on it's own, Love grand Soir with the Vanilla and Amber combo, so curious to see how the 3 blend together. ** Update* After receiving the sample, - OMG - WOW- Absolute masterpiece, Opens with the orange and bright fresh rose but changes as you smell to unveil the vanilla and Ambergris. It's a masterpiece, so far 8+ hours on skin with 2 spray.

This is a cozy, feminine amber but it’s not *my* preferred take on a cozy, feminine amber. I think the orange blossom ruins it for me, I would have preferred a strong, pure amber with some vanilla (think Grand Soir and Ambre Passion), and much less of the floral notes. It dries down somewhat playdough vanilla which overshadows the amber notes. I’m not a fan but it’s alright.

Hey if you cant throw down the $300 for this one, I am stunned by the loveliness of the dua dupe. This is such a gorgeous composition! Not too much orange, or amber or vanilla or rose. Its just very smooth and gorgeous. Got it on their $33 sale. What a gem. (Called "Mystical Amber") If ever I have an extra 300 for a fragrance, I would consider this house.

Opens up with the bright fresh orange citrus & white flower sparked up the Cachalox/Ambrox, which combined gives it a somewhat light and powdery impression. In the dry-down it gets sweeter as the vanilla dominates. The longevity and projection are above-average. It's more of a synthetic Amber/Ambrox rather than natural Ambergris.

This is freaking gorgeous!!! The orange blossom, the ambergris... It's to die for. I tried to save money and bought the Generic perfume dupe. It's nice but it's lack of the "airyness" of the top notes. I want the real stuff!!! Alberto Morillas is a master at is art. 10/10 fragrance!!!

Hear me out. Opening is a fresh, warm, sweet and slightly spicy from the cardamom. But the dry down reminds me of Another 13 with hint more sweetness. Perfectly unisex and perfectly perfect.

Mizensir "Ambre Magique" has Ambergris in it but it's blended with Orange, Vanilla, Rose, and Ambroxan. Very Unique fragrance and it has an addictive quality. 8/10

Rose, cardamom, and ambergris. An elevated version of Lalique Soleil with better texture. Little less solar, more amber.

This cachalox thing is weird and ruins the perfume for me. It has a marine/aquatic/seaweed note.
