Celebes Wood

It's time to place this perfume in the "Natural Wonders of the World". This is the most accurate cinnamon/labdanum smelling perfume I've ever tried. It is extremely boozy, rich, decadent and loud. If you've ever boiled up fresh raw cinnamon sticks in pots, this smell is very accurate to that. The peppers in the perfume smell like you're putting your nose into an actual bag of peppers and the labdanum and vanilla are very very enjoyable. Natural perfume lovers must try this. Blind buy safe if you like warm weather perfumes. The usage of the labdanum note reminds me of many (much more expensive) Roja Dove, and vintage Caron creations. I find some very very remote similarities to "Puredistance M" but Puredistance M is incredibly sharp when compared to this, and it doesn't hold a candle to this in terms of cleanliness and natural-ness. I can also say it reminds me of modern Musc Ravageur batches but outlasts/outshines those. The vanilla and Labdanum are to die for and the boozy accord created as a result is something that stays with you for many hours.

AFTER 6/7 HOURS: There is something very addicting about this fragrance, I keep smelling my arm and tester and I especially like the peppery dry down. I'm not a fan of the stronger cinnamon in the beginning but after 7 hours the beautiful blending of the perfume really shines! Would be excellent on a man for date nights, but I would still wear it as a woman. You have to come really close to smell it though. I don't get so much vanilla, but more amber and tonka. One of the better ones from Mizensir if you ask me. Update: I bought it and am head over heels over it - I enjoy that it has a kick to it. I also like layering it with Shalimar L'essence or The Architects club.

I love the house mizensir and alberto morillas is exceptional at creating parfumes for years and celebes wood is, for me, a triumph! The notes on fragratica are nonsense so I implore you to judge for yourself. I dont really get much spice. I get more of a floral, powdery musk scent like an adult luxurious version of baby powder. It's a clean scent and then tones down to deep woods. It's one that I'll always have in my collection forevermore

Celebes Wood sits in the same family as Pure Havane, Oajan, Naxos, Ambre Narguille. If you like those, this is a safe blind buy. However, while all of those are quite dense, this is the airy and light! It’s so lovely - sweet, spicy, vanilla and labdanum without being cloying (which Havane and Oajan tend to get on me). Will be getting a full bottle in the future

Some of the reviews of this fragrance are OD. I bought it as a blind buy and believe it is fantastic. It is a fragrance that you truly never understand fully with your nose, but it just smells right. 100% blind buy worthy, as pretty much all Mizensir fragrances are.

Very easy to wear. There's a tender warmth to it that feel very frou frou. I'm all here for it. Perfect amount of sweetness . Totally unisex.

A soft, spicy, sexy, date night fragrance. The cinnamon, vanilla, and cardamom is what stands out the most to me. Compliment getter.

Celebes Wood smells like Alberto Moralles' tribute to Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille to me. The whole Mizesir line is a study in the use of synthetics and reminds me a lot of Francis Kurkdjian's work. Celebes Wood is not a mirror image of Tobacco Vanille by any means, but if you own Tobacco Vanille, Celebes Wood is redundant in my opinion. I wasn't expecting this to smell like TV after reading the opinions that it smells like Spice and Wood by Creed. I own Spice & Wood, Tobacco Vanille, and Celebes Wood and it has much more in common with TV than it does with S&W in my opinion. Celebes Wood is more transparent than TV. It also has more of a synthetic feeling because of that clinical, sheer feeling it has. It does smell nice, but it is somewhat relentless and I became tired of it after about 8 hrs. It burned on for a complete day and I could still smell it on my skin the next morning, which does make this a good value as you don't need to overspray. There is also a slight rice pudding smell to CW that TV doesn't have. TV is almost chewy and has a sweet, dried fruit presence as well that doesn't reside in CW. However, the cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla and tonka bean give it a definite nod to TV in my opinion.

A heart of sweet green patchouli surrounded by warm spicy notes and vanilla. Leans heavily on Clearwood, a Firmenich captive that acts as a "clean" patchouli. It indeed has that signature sweet-spicy green patchouli scent, with no dirty earthiness, along with finely powdered spices and a resinous vanilla. Dries down to a sort of soft musky amber. Moderate projection fades over 4-6hr, longevity 10-12hr.

A spicy woody scent that has a calming effect, I found Celebes Wood easy to wear for a woman even though it leans masculine. The opening is much stronger but it mellows quickly. I wore it for a full 8 hours and could still smell it at the end of the day.

Oriental warm and spicy scent. Woody but not too dry, Cinnamon gives a slight sweetness to it. For me it is more on the masculine side. Can be an elegant and sensual scent for a gentleman.

This is a nice men’s fragrance, soft to medium, not too strong. It’s very nice. I could smell my husband wearing this, but I don’t find it something I would wear as a woman.

Idk why I’m getting a little oud wood by TF just a tinge and I’m not a fan of that fragrance, but it’s something about this that just makes you want to keep sniffing it , that cinnamon is amazing here , slight rough ambery musk , like a very light musc ravegeur overall decent fragrance, cozy winter fall reach , performance is really good here if you’re into that

The opening is a heavy tonka bomb for me (I don't get much of the other notes). It's off-putting, 2/10. This lasts for hours as this one has great performance. The dry down, 6 hours later is an 8/10. Everything is calmed down and settled from that jarring opening. Man, I had high hopes for Alberto but this line is a bust so far for me. Id say sample (don't blind buy) this because maybe its just me as this scent had very high marks.

I think the white pepper kills this for me. There’s something really sickly about this that I can’t place. Like some peppery sweet incense that’s just way too overwhelming. I can see this causing headaches in sensitive people. Probably not a good office scent.

This was recommended to me by an ebay seller who sold me Masculine Pluriel by MFK. She told me this was her favourite of the moment and since she did not have one to sell me this added a certain verisimilitude so that I went to the Mizensir Web site and bought a sample. They sent me 3 others with it. Perfect Oud and Golden Oud are as crystalline clean as you can imagine Oud to be, the latter with a slight smokiness and a rose accord. The former is very good and left a very pleasant aura round me which I found my nostrils flaring to pick up more of during the next few hours. Crystalline oud and cedar with a touch or rose. The latter is a superb slightly warmer weather fragrance which lasts and lasts. Bois de Mysorie is a very pleasant sherbert orange woodie freshie. Slightly tangy and powdery, you want to smell it from a few inches away not with nose buried against your arm. A bit too peppery for me ultimately and does not last that long. Now to the main feature. Instant FBW. If you have ever smelt Creed Spice and Wood and liked it or wanted to like it but found it a bit too strong and full of its own importance, then this is your new signature fragrance. This is a light fresh woody spicy fragrance but that does not mean to say it is not warm either.Its really difficult to pick out individual notes .Maybe its the vanilla and tonka and cardamon casting a playful ephemeral veil over the labdanum and presenting it to us for our olfactory delight . So if light spicy woody masculine smooth is what you want to achieve and be able to wear practically anywhere anytime this is it. If you ready my other reviews you will see I do not hesitate to castigate where I think it is required. I can't understand some of the few reviews I have read which describe this as heavy. That is not true. Thank you Miss ebay seller my olfactory heart is yours. For the moment. After all life is fickle. Btw Perfect Oud and Golden Oud are also FBW and I did. Mizensir’s Celebes Wood is a scent I love, but I think I love it more for someone else. This is a frou-frou boozy woodland party of a fragrance. A dozen rowdy princesses gather in the forest at midnight, all glitter and glamour and flowing hair and dazzling tiaras and ballgown pockets stuffed with cakes and confections and clutching jeweled flasks of sweet, strong liqueurs that cost half a kingdom to procure. There’s gossip and gifts and drinking and dancing and sweet kisses and secrets under the moonlight. And these princesses aren’t sleepwalking or under a spell, they’re alert and more alive than they’ve ever been, women with agency and autonomy and a vision for the future that will shake the very foundations of their world, because it doesn’t involve pleasing parents or marrying princes or making themselves or their dreams small or hiding their hearts’ truest songs. So...yeah. That kind of party. This is a sumptuous ambery scent, opening with a swirling of almost effervescent sparks, like someone tossed cinnamon and cardamom on a flame, and when the embers die there is a deep, rich heart of tonka bean and resinous labdanum and something a lot like patchouli, but creamier, and less earthy. It’s beautiful and on the right person it could be devastating, but somehow it’s not me.

I've sniffed many from Mizensir, and this is easily the one that stood out. To my nose this is an amber woody fragrance. Upon sniffing, like me, you'd probably think this is a heavy amber. But it's really not. This has the characteristics of a heavy amber, but it's quite transparent. Although don't be fooled, it's pumping sillage since first spray all the way through its life 8-10 hours later. You'll be sure to smell sexy and just fantastic even until after you shower. Of course, by that time, it's just a skin scent. An amazing one at that. It's not a beast mode cologne. But the sillage is not disappointing. It's in the same line of Oajan, etc. But it has its own unique signature. To me this perfume leans masculine. It's spicy and woodiness will melt beautifully with a male skin chemistry. Delicious! Definitely a must own. This isn't a perfume that you would want to pile on. A few serious spritz would suffice to last all evening. Definitely spray some on your clothes and you'll be drawing people in your space just to get a whiff of its alluring smell.

Keeps getting better. Strong cinnamon so if it’s something you don’t like skip this one. Awesome Labdanum in the drydown (can spot it because of the similarities to Chanel Le Lion, actually pretty similar) Have an underlying airy sweetness not overly sweet or vanillic. Still leaving a trail after a full work day. Clearly inspired by African Leather but this is the right way to do an “inspired by”, VERY different experience from the original and will only remind of it slightly. A 10/10 for me. After sometime I’ve started noticing the sharp green patchouli that is present throughout and sticks around for ever. Think of the sharp green tone of Nishane Hacivat but not as centered, works great with the labdamum/ vanilla/ cinnamon, all balanced very well.

The first few times I tried Celebes Wood, I was horrified. It smells so screechy and cold, almost metallic, it smelled like tiger balm and dried pine. I could not understand how this sterile scent was being compared to the warm and sweetly spiced Oajan and Ambre Narguille. Now that my sample has been sitting for a few weeks, I'm finally getting what everyone else is. The cinnamon is now front and center, the pepper's there but it's toned down. It's better now but still a bit soulless and sterile for my taste, and Oajan is still number 1 in this scent category as it is warmer, more decadent and has a slightly more complex scent profile.

The opening misled me, but after a few hours of breathing, this is a lovely fragrance. I'm not a fan of the initial burst of resinous, animalic amber, but I'm willing to live through it for this luxurious, warm blend of cinnamon and white pepper. There are a few fragrances that come to mind when I smell this: Sweet Grass by Libertine, Ambre Khandjar by Une Nuit Nomade, and surprisingly, Chloe Nomade (but if her hair was tangled with dry twigs and leaves). And like most of Mizensir's fragrances, a modest but satisfying overall performance. Beautiful.

this is a fragrance that didn’t knock me over when I first tried it, but I found it very pleasant. Over a month I found myself going back to it over and over. Cardamom, vanilla bean, cinnamon. A deeply comforting fragrance. Finally so much so that after several weeks, I purchased it. To me, this is a wonderful alto scent for a woman. Oh My God. Just received the fragrance bottle. SO much better than the tester. More like walking through the woods. So fresh, intoxicating, deep, complex.

If you already have Detour Noir, this would be a redundant buy. However, this is a much, much more refined, high-quality niche scent. Sooo, soooo lovely. Good sillage/projection/longevity. Two sprays lasted on me nine hours, with no sign of fading. I had to shower for another event, and that's the only reason I took it off. Great fragrance, but only if you don't already have Detour Noir. It's not quite a Layton doppelganger.

Awesome awesome awesome. Unique very modern perfumery, kinda sweet and spicy, When smelled up close at first you might get some funky tho satisfying smell (just adds to the unique experience for me). Lasts all day on skin and projects great. I don’t know why I got this specific frag but I’m so glad I did. Love wearing this one in the heat very airy even tho it’s sweet. Makes me want to explore more of Morillas creations.

Not a wood/oud! I was hesistant to buy this, since I find wood and oud notes a little too common. Celebes Wood is a light, ambery, creamy and a good undsrlying musk. Definitely good for any season of year. I bought an extra sample just to spray my car. It may not be for everyone, but Alberto Morillas has not let my down yet. If you don't like this scent, I'll probably buy it.

This can give you a headache but lasts on you so well! It also reels in the complements. I enjoy this scent when it settles a bit. Very peppery and cinnamony. Two very different smells in a bottle. You mostly get those. Not much vanilla or tonka here compared to other mizensir perfumes. Just wish I could get a little more sweetness and less pepper.

This is what Layton would have smelled like if it was made by a house that actually had competency. Warm, addictive, sultry. This one actually smells high quality and not synthetic at all. Very pleasantly surprised by Mizensir as a whole

Very nice and airy. So far in the opening reminding me slightly of African Leather, drydown is much more similar to Nightfall Patchouli by CH, both of which I have on hand to continue to compare. Need to do more wearing.

It's like taking your picnic basket full of rich sweet vanilla cakes out to the middle of a thickly wooded forest. An interesting blending of sweet, vanilla and wood.

I know I'm probably the only person in the world who thinks this, but this reminds me A LOT of A*Men Pure Wood.
