Musc Eternel

Powder scent, yes, but I do believe it’s a bit different than some of the other offerings in its category. It isn’t completely linear the way many “powder bomb” type scents can be, the tonka bean is dominant in the base which I feel prevents it from smelling stale/overdone. I don’t think of this as being a “grandma” scent in the slightest. Too often reviewers flatten the entire category into a singular stereotype without acknowledging the difference between styles of powder scents. There are certain facets to those “grandma” powdery scents that do not make an appearance in Musc Eternal, namely the extreme sharpness and cosmetic powder tendencies. I really don’t get a baby powder vibe from this either, it reminds me of a powdered or glazed donut. Depending on your tastes, I can definitely understand why someone with a large fragrance collection might consider this overpriced, especially if you’re one to constantly be on the look out for highly complex and/or dramatically evolving scents, but this could easily become a staple for those who prefer a more curated collection and want an elegant fragrance that isn’t too harsh. Sillage and lasting power are impressive for the category, I think. I’m picky with fragrances, and seldomly move beyond just a “like”, but I really love this! I disagree with the Soavissima comparison as Soavissima is much more iris forward and vintage inspired in its composition. I’ve yet to try Teint de Neige, so I have no notes in that department, but I think I will get a sample soon just to compare. Edit: Teint de Neige does smell extremely similar, however the rose note and aldehydic aspects are much stronger in the opening, leading the fragrance into the “grandma” territory that has been prescribed to Musc Eternel. Musc Eternel is definitely more balanced, but the dry downs are practically identical side by side.

Very much enjoying my sample of this and considering a full bottle. While my colleague described it after smelling the sample as "unexciting", I find this tonka musk combo to be absolutely beautiful. I don't get much iris beyond the short opening I put this on in a rush and ran to do rounds at work and 3 nurses just gathered asking "ok, what is that perfume you're wearing!!?", they found it stunning and took pictures of the Fragrantica page ;D Performance is great! very long lasting on a cool spring day, projection is above average. It is just not "sexy" if you are a man, it is on the sweet calming side, feelings wise. Can only recommend it.

my fav of all the Misensir musks (which are all good!) it is for the musk lovers, and powdery iris lovers, and those that want some extra oomph out of their musky skin scents it is not quiet, it does project and creates a musky bubble, but that rose opening and sweetness of tonka in the base and some je-ne-sais-quoi are just making it extra special looking at the "similar to" I do get the comparison with Suavissima by Profumum but this one is a bit less heavy on the iris and a bit less retro. i love the both but I guess I'd go for the full bottle of this one among the two

Sweet radiant musk with beast protection and lovely powdery (also a bit nutty) aspects. I can definitely feel the signature base created by Alberto Morillas, because for me it’s very similar to the one I’m getting from Rubinia Bvlgari. Even though Rubinia is much darker and more balsamic. I can definitely see the similarities. I like it! It’s very soft and comforting, and quite feminine for my taste. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Achingly beautiful, delicate and refined. It has a just out of reach quality. I can't get enough of it. It causes a greed in me; I want to drink it, bathe in it, sleep in it. My current favourite. Not a gourmand, yet it possesses an airy, whipped deliciousness that calls to mind white chocolate mousse. I want to eat it with a spoon. Divine.

Very powdery white musk as others have mentioned. I sampled a ton of iris powdery musks and this was the only one that didn’t turn dusty or funky on me. The tonka is very prevalent and gives a little sweetness. Very strong projection and longevity for a fragrance of this nature. The iris is nice and fresh, not musty. I love it for bedtime!

Powder bomb! Reminds me of "Amber Fetiche" by Annick Goutal, but this is far more musky and powdery with a good heap of iris. Another strong performer of this formidable house. London is suffering from freezing fog presently, so this is the perfect winter warmer (like a cashmere scarf). Warning: Highly addictive! Verdict: 8/10.

When I tried this fragrance, I found it very underwhelming...generic fabric softener/conditioner type scent. However, I now say that this is a very beautiful musky scent. Yes - it still has a fabric conditioner type scent. Yet, it has more depth and aura.

A warm and smooth musk... So beautiful and comforting. One of the nicest musk if you just want to feel relaxed. It's a very high-quality musk that lasts and lasts. Also quite potent in projection as well. A must-have for all musk lovers.

If I had to describe Musc Eternel in one word, it would be comfort. It's not your typical perfume that feels like a heavy cloud around you, but more like a second skin or the feeling of a freshly put-on silk shirt.

If you love a powdery musk, you need to try this. Easily the best one I have smelled. Not sharp or harsh in any way, just smooth and ever so slightly sweet.

Musc Eternel is a pillowy soft floral musk with a subtle, sweet vanilla base. Iris and rose drift through it, tinting the snowy white of the fragrance a soft pastel. This is a cottony musk as opposed to the body odor type of musk, and it feels very clean. It feels classic. Another classic in this genre, the one that is almost always referenced when talking about makeupy musks is Teint de Neige, and it has been called out as being too similar to ME. I do see the similarities between Musc Eternel and TdN. They are alike, especially in the dry down. ME is however gentler, easier to, well, ease into. Teint de Neige has a dry, raspy, almost detergent powder start to it that feels a little harsh, a little bitter. It reminds me of aldehydes and galbanum together, but in a very minimal titration. I know galbanum isn’t listed, but that’s the impression I get. TdN starts so so dry and powdery, with a sharp edge to its detergent granules. Conversely, ME starts as gently as it means to go on, sweet and musky. Its powder is very finely milled. Almost oily. TdN does eventually get there, to that sweet musky place, but it takes it a while. It goes through more defined stages than ME does, and to my nose possesses more of the body odor qualities that musk can have. Having both might be redundant for most people, and if it was me choosing, I’d pick Musc Eternel. I find it easygoing and easy to like. It feels simpler than Teint de Neige, it is gentler, and honestly I think this type of musk fragrance should be simple. Or at least give the impression of simplicity. That’s a large part of its appeal. I have Teint de Neige but I may sell it and buy this. Musc Eternel lasts a long time on skin, 9 plus hours. It radiates off skin and creates a soft cloud of tender fleecy powder.

This isn't so much of a musk to me as it is floral. It's a beautifully creamy, well-blended floral, and very classy and elegant. There's quite a bit of grounding sweetness - not sure if that's the tonka bean or the hawthorn, but there's something almost ?edible and candy-like about this sweetness. Not much musk - I LOVE musk, but there's not enough here for me. Don't get much soapiness either. I'll need to think about whether this sweetness is a deal-breaker for my personal collection, but it's pleasant enough. Soft projection. 8/10... maybe...

Very likeable if you're looking for a sweet iris/almond perfume to feel pretty. It reminds me of varous similar perfumes, but this actuallly packs more of a punch, the sillage is very present,, though the scent itself is easy on the nose (if you like sweet perfumes). Reminds me of Rose d'Amalfi by Tom Ford, though it's less powdery than that, it's a little bit like L'Artisan's Traversee du Bosphore, but much stronger. Uber-pretty, lasting, flirty.

This is a powdery white musk that smells clean and fresh. I like it, it smells like you're fresh out of the shower or like you've just washed your clothes with a tender laundry liquid. I can vaguely see where the comments comparing it to baby powder come from but it does not smell the same. At the same time it is quite a basic and linear scent with little complexity so paying mizensir prices for this is not at the top of my list

The most likable perfume from the Mizensir line of perfumes. Musc Eternel is a powdery, sweet floral musk scent—one that leans into an easy-to-wear synthetic mainstream category of perfume. It’s casual but still appropriate for the office or a weekend spent in sweatpants. I haven’t liked many of the samples from my Mizensir discovery set, but this one is very good. Still a pass as it’s not quite my style.

A potent musk infused with soft rose and iris accords. Powdery and mildly soapy, like clean laundry sheets, while the overdose of jasmine gives it an intense brightness. Not dissimilar to its sister Rose Exaltante but with less going on. Picks up an almondy sweetness that steadily gains strength as it dries down. Moderate projection fades over 3-4hr, longevity 10-12hr.

Oooh, lovely! Powdery, sparkly in true Mizensir fashion. But with an undeniable touch of fresh spice. The notes are wistful and delicate, with the spiciness highlighted in the blending. Really nicely done. A vintage concept done in a strikingky modern way. Probably all season except high heat. Fairly unisex. Just lovely. Good longevity, especially for this house.

This is definitely unisex. I really can't say it trends towards being more feminine or masculine. It's a pleasant musc of the hairspray/Impulse musk type, but massively overpriced for what it is. Other than having far greater longevity and sillage, it is nearly identical to Impulse musk body spray.

Powdery, laundry-type, and a bit soapy. Very "clean" and comforting scent. You get kind of a floral background but no specific note stands out.

This leans a little too much on the baby powder. I wish there was more florals to balance the compoisiton but it does smell very classy. 8/10

Received this today from Bloomingdales. It’s absolutely lovely. But if you have Teint De Neige (which costs less), you don’t need this.

Sweet laundry musk. Very synthetic but charming. Like many musks it overwhelms me and can give me a headache easily.

It simply smells like classic baby powder from the ’80s or ’90s... and that’s it in the best possible way... cute

Smells exactly like Teint de Neige, no difference, therefore boring to me.

Smells very much like Dove soap, with hawthorn. It’s nice, but nothing super special. I have a dabber sample and I’m thinking this may be quite different from a sprayer. I may give it more tries to see if I change my opinion. At this point it just okay.

The reviews saying it smells like baby powder aren't inaccurate. The dry down smells powdery, musky. It smells vintage, and not exactly in a good way. Lasts OK but projection is low. A hard pass.

Way too much of a powder bomb for me! DNA is pretty just needs to be way less powdery for me to wear.

This is a straight up baby wipe/baby powder bomb. My username says it all—I love musky, powdery, iris dominant fragrances but this was NOT pleasant to my nose. Could be body chemistry, could be my nose’s perception of it as we all find different fragrances/notes pleasing. However, this is a scrubber for me and out of 250+ frags I’ve tried, I’ve maybe felt that way about 5. It was also cloying on me, and I rarely feel that way about a fragrance. Def not blind buy safe. I blind bought a 30 ml decant based off online recommendations as a “best musk” and absolutely regret adding this little 30 to my collection. Luckily, it was fairly inexpensive I may try layering it with a freshie to see if it calms down that baby powder vibe to make use of it. Otherwise, I’ll try to pass it off to a friend or resell it.

I'm getting a tonka BOMB with tons of hawthorn (im guessing thats the sort of greenish bittersweet floral). I'm not getting any soapiness as others have described it's much more in the powdery and fuzzy direction to my nose. It almost smells like marzipan to me. I think if the iris was more prominent i would love this, for now i'll keep testing.

Uh, I really don’t like this. Smells like a mix of baby powder and cheap cleaning products. Very dated, powdery and aldehydic. To be fair I’m not a huge fan of either iris or white musk so I went into this trepidations and got what I expected. If that’s your vibe then maybe you’ll like this. I will say the projection/longevity is very strong.

I sprayed 7 different Mizensirs on me at the same time for testing. This one screams off my skin several feet away and says “SMELL ME, I’M HERE!!!” Unfortunately, it’s not my kind of vibe ‘cuz, to me, it smells like baby powder and diapers. But it’s the strongest Mizensir I’ve tried so there’s that.

This is a musky, loundry linnen and powdery iris scent. Opens up really musky, almost animalic and then drydown loundry linnen, heavy on the musk and iris. Head ache inducing even after 4 hours. Definitely female oriented fragrance.

Smells a lot like Iris L'Erbolario, which can be bought on Amazon, Ebay for around $30. I find it a bit too sweet. Definitely not musk nor iris to my nose.

To my perception, just about as frank & overt a musk as it's possible to get ... & I'm actually surprised 'musk' isn't @ the top of the breakdown in terms of notes: possibly it ought to be. It brings to recollection my very first experience of musk, which is too early for me to 'pin' in memory precisely ... but I @least acutely remember the experience of wondrousness @ catching that first-ever whiff. And maybe that element of nostalgia is a large part of why, to me, this fragrance is nought short of supremely & ineffibly gorgeous. (Update: just realised musk is @ the top of the analysis! I was looking @ the little pictures & got slightly confused, because it's in the base notes ... although the icon for musk is huge in the base notes. Haven't been @ this forum for a while.)
