Perfect Oud

You'll read & watch a lot of reviews that will refer to Perfect Oud as a "Clean Oud". Its not exactly a Clean Oud. Its not exactly a "Fresh Oud" either. What you'll get here is notes of Bergamot, Coriander, & Iris working to enhance the Bulgarian Rose. It smells like a Pink, Powdery Rose with Green accents. This combination of notes supporting the Rose is whats giving reviewers an idea of "Clean" & or "Fresh". The Coriander is playing two roles in this fragrance. On one hand its adding an herbaceous nuance that lends a greenness to the Pink Rose as if you can also smell its Stem. On the other hand the Coriander is adding a soft warm Spice like a mock cinnamon note that you can smell throughout the opening & mid. The Cedar note adds a nuance that makes the rose go from Powdery to smooth & Lotion-like towards the mid. The Oud here is very Woody, & in combination with the Cade Oil it makes the Oud smell dark, like Wood Chips thats been soaked in Crude Oil. The Oud here isnt of a Barnyard, nor Medicinal type. This Oud smells like a Mechanics Shop. So its not at all a "Clean" or "Fresh" Oud, it just doesnt have a barnyard funk, but its still dirty. In the dry down I also get subtle Leather nuance. In fact its that same Gasoline-like Leather you get in Killian Dark Lord, & Gucci Guilty Absolute. But its smooth like the Leather in Dark Lord. The Rose in this fragrance is absolutely beautiful. Like, its literally beautiful. Like a Princess in a big pink poofy dress. But then in comes this dark, oily, woody, undoubtably masculine Oud note. It literally smells like a Princess with a Chainsaw. Perfect Oud is just that, & its also Perfectly Unisex. However, if you are a woman considering this fragrance, or you are someone who doesnt like Oud, the base of this fragrance is all about Oud & Leather. Its a 3 season fragrance. The only season i wouldnt wear it in is Winter. However, for me its best Seasons are late Summer nights, & Fall nights. Its airy, but not as light as reviews will have you believe. It performs with about the same projection, sillage, & lasting power as Tom Fords Ombre Leather.

I am on a quest to try all the Morillas Oud/GGA fragrances. I do this because I feel GGA is this era's iconic masculine scent. An era otherwise dominated culturally by sweet men's colognes (nothing wrong with that) and the push towards unisex (nothing wrong with that). In this time GGA has made a cultural footprint in the fragrance world like no other, thus I have a scholarly curiosity to explore this "family" of fragrances as made by Alberto. Of course there are others inspired by GGA, not made by Alberto - Bvlgari's Falkar, Black Incense Malaki, Amber Kiso and so on. Great fragrances but more distant cousins. This brings my search to Mizensir and to Perfect Oud: So far this is the only one of the bunch (GGA, Agar Royal, Dark Lord, Gold Oud) that has more of a distinct personality and sort of breaks away from family tradition. It retains the gasoline like accord, the shared DNA, but it steers into a direction that I can only call beautiful. The iris is well blended and thank the gods it is not dior homme-esque and the composition smells oily, smooth, woody and floral, but nothing sticks out, yet all are apparent. Encens Suave by Matiere is the last fragrance that on first sniff I felt the sheer beauty of it, this is the same, though the fragrances are not, however they both feel like they were created in the spirit of beauty itself. Honestly I was not expecting to like this fragrance so much, but it sings to me and is a love. If I were to sum it up, I would call Perfect Oud the "gentle masculinity" of the GGA family.

A light and airy rose/oud scent. If you like western ouds and wanted something for warmer weather/office Perfect Oud could be exactly what you want. It's not off putting oud; it's purely western/synthetic oud (that warm and fuzzy woody scent that has been handled here far better than many designers that slap "Oud!" on the name of their scent). This feels classy, sophisticated but light and very wearable. Soft and pleasant, mass appealing oud you can wear in almost any occasion. Morillas's oud scents tend to have a common-feeling base to them. In fact, this reminds me of Voice of the Snake in some ways - just far lighter and warm weather appropriate. Longevity is weird as the top notes last for an hour or two on my skin and then it recedes to more of a skinscent. In the first hour it projects hard but comes close quickly thereafter. It then remains as a skinscent for 5-7 hours (not great longevity on my skin). I think the base of aromachemicals that I'm usually nose blind to make me feel like this disappears more quickly than others perceive it. That first hour or so is awesome, however. A 8.25/10 for me. Longevity could be better but it's hard to find a light, warm weather ready oud/rose scent that leans masculine. Great for spring/summer evenings.

Revisiting my review after 3 years. Surprisingly this has not ended up on the chopping block! I don't wear it often but I do fancy it in spring or intermediary seasons, when the weather transitions from warm to cool or reverse, but that's just me. Anywho, on with the review! First off, no oud here, frankly if you're a seasoned collector looking for real oud in this line-up, what are you doing? Secondly this is the best one from the mizensir "oud" line, it's the best blend, the most interesting, wearable and easy to like of the family. Original oud is bland, golden oud is simply an upscaled gucci guilty absolute. This does it's own thing, it's rather nice but nothing mind blowing, the price is way off, if it were 40% discount I'd say it's a steal. I don't regret getting it, again surprised I haven't axed it, suppose it's because it is so easy-going that it's not really worth getting rid of and it has a certain modern western perfume charm to it. But if you go into it you should set your expectation to a sephora+, not niche perfumery, if you want to enjoy it.

There’s no real oud here, just Alberto Morillas signature 'oud accord', which is great on its own and shows up in a lot of his work, like the Chopard Agar Royal line btw... This non-oud and non-rose-oud kind of thing actually works well in summer. I really like wearing scents like this in tropical weather. It’s a fresher take and the rose isn’t dark, heavy or velvety like in typical rose-oud blends.. it’s fresh and even a bit fruity like rose jam. I always pick up a cocoa note in Morillas 'oud accord'. I dont know why.. There’s nothing animalic here at all, nothing funky or barnyardy. Overall it’s a light, sweet, cheerful fragrance, a good pick for the younger crowd who are into fantasy-style ouds kind of a smooth, cute-as, seductive pseudo-oud freshie..for guys definitely.. I guess that’s why they called it Perfect Oud it’s not like real oud, it’s light fresh easy to wear and everyone likes it.

A safe oud! This is so, so pretty. It's nothing astounding but it really doesn't matter. This is fine for year-round as it is never truly overpowering like so many other ouds. It is office safe, date safe and home safe. Feels a little synthetic, but in this case it really doesn't matter - most people don't seem to care whether it's synthetic, just if it smells good. There's a light powderiness to it that makes it fairly unisex. Not too masculine, not too feminine. While you don't necessarily need to 'love' oud to enjoy this scent, it's a good thing if you do because it does have that oud-type of scent (clean, though it may be) Just really enjoyable, and as far as niche prices go the price for this is reasonable. Lasts ages, too, for the longevity fiends.

This is really nice. Just had my first sunny spring day wearing of it here in the UK. The Oud in this to me comes across as similar to the Oud that’s in MFK Oud Silk Mood, and MFK Oud Cashmere Mood, but here I find it’s better blended and more a part of the whole composition, rather than jumping out as the main player like in those. I prefer this as I find it more pleasant (for myself and others), uplifting, easy going, smoother, well rounded, but far from generic and still unique. I think a more accurate name would be Amazing Blend (rather than Perfect Oud), but of course Perfect Oud just sounds better.

As a female who loves feminine leaning fragrances, this....THIS is my favorite Mizensir. I have For Your Love, Tres Cher, Luxury, the whole lot....and this is my favorite. This is the “oud” for those who hate oud (like me). This is a sparkling, rich, fruity cedar and juniper scent on my skin. Super clean and refined wood that is so well blended. Dare I say this is that new expensive car smell, but made into a wearable perfume (seriously haha). Masterpiece fragrance IMO. This is perfectly unisex. All seasons and occasions. Incredibly classy and expensive smelling. Addicting. Absolute love.

Personally, for the first impression after applying on my skin, it is not the kind of perfume l would wear but the scents combination on my skin is perfect! Some brands have also such fragrance mix (with some variation, of course) but from Mizensir is by far the most successful. Note (after 13 hours drydown): the first hours (about 10 hours) the powerful woody, musky, almost smoky combination prevailed; afterwards it gives place to practically a bergamot scent which even next day (after more than 13 hours) was so fresh as if l had just applied this fragrance.

For Perfect Oud, @mikemuscles21 below provides the perfect review. Echoes of Ombre Leather (oud = leather?), but lighter/versatile. The surprise for something so airy and delightful is the performance, which is excellent. I see others suggesting this best suits autumn and winter. IMO this might be better in spring, even summer, we'll see. Unisex. This is a superb scent, highly recommended. 5/5

Perfect Oud by Mizensir is a refined take on oud—classy, fresh, and effortlessly elegant. It avoids the heaviness often associated with the note, making it smooth and inoffensive. While it wears closer to the skin, it lingers beautifully on clothes. Often I find myself being able to smell it on clothing I wore previous days. A blind buy will not leave you disappointed with this one.

After some days of testing this fragrance i had to order it. Smells fantastic imo: I can confirm that the opening also reminds me of a less strong & sweet Ombré Leather EdP, but this part vanishes after 30min to 1h. After that i'm noticing vibes of a denser Dior Sauvage, which might be due to the cedar included. I like it a lot and can imagine lots of occasions wearing it.

Perfect Oud is really “perfect” at least for me. I tried it after “Golden Oud” from Mizensir, but for me PO wins. GO- leaves a smoky aroma on my skin. PO- leaves a clean scent ( I guess it’s from Iris), more sophisticated and somehow more pleasant to the environment. For me, Perfect Oud and Golden Oud are two totally different aromas.

Another wonderful scent from Mizensir... I usually do not like floral scents but its light enough to blend perfectly with the woodsy aroma so that a masculine male can wear this without worry. Its a very complex scent and will be quite appealing to a wife, gf or both at same time :)

I really love this scent, but hate the performance on my skin. After 1-2 hours it becomes a skin scent, and after 3-4 hours it's basically gone. Maybe it needs to macerate a few more weeks but at the moment I'm really disappointed by the performance of this.

Wow!!!!!!!!! I just got mine today and immediately ordered two more bottles. This is absolutely amazing. Strong, long lasting, and the perfect SOFT woody “oud”, roses, powdery, clean scent ever. Love this one!!!!

Safe and very pleasant Oud ! You'll be sure to smell classy when you wear this one. It kinda reminds me of a tamed version of Oudmazing by Montale.

This just smells like a light classy well blended oud that could be louder if it wanted to be, but would rather stay smooth and subtle.

Well blended Oud perfume that won't bother you or anyone around you. Good longevity. Versatile. Anytime except summer days.

i get from my bottle, lot 9204, how spot on all of the reviews here are, which are also basically in accord with each other and my own experience. rose and oud combos are a dime a dozen--and some a lot more expensive. when i started getting into my current obsessive period, i loaded up on oud/amber/rose which i thought i loved. i read many reviews and then blind bought (covid lockdown.) after a while, i was beginning to dislike all those bottles of sweet yet uninspired oud/amber/rose and culled my collection. recently, i am giving them away to friends who express interest. so why did i get this? curiousity and an underlying hope that there are some "ouds" (western) that i might enjoy (a recent one being bejar's wild oud.) perfect oud may not be "perfect," but it is a delicate delight. i do not get the wood smoke hot embers which allegedly come out. if they are present, they are much too demure for my nose, but perhaps they add smooth grounding in the background on a subliminal level. perhaps, i have become used to more pronounced aspects of balsamic resins and woods. that does not mean weak. rather it conveys lightness unlike many scents with similar notes. walking through a rose garden in bloom in sunlight. it seems like a eau de toilette with good longevity. a rose water with resinous base. subtlety. a light scent for day. bright and agreeable.

This really is the perfect Oud. It’s well blended, non-animalic, woody, but not overbearing or dirty. This is a clean Oud that is dry and yet smooth and creamy. This is not your typical rose/Oud and I personally don’t smell the rose. I think this is a linear fragrance, but it does have depth, primarily Oud, but surrounded by other woodsy notes and juniper. I think this is the perfect Oud because you can wear it any time of year, even in the summer! I cannot say this about most other ouds in my collection. It is also great because you can layer it with other scents that you want to add Oud to. It would pair perfect with a sweet vanilla, jasmine, or other sweet fragrances. If your new to ouds, I also think this would be a great opportunity to really smell a good Oud and not get lost in the other notes. I think this is just as good as MFK Oud Satin Mood if not better because it is so versatile and isn’t just a heavy fall/winter Oud like so many others.

I sprayed my sample blind, and did not know anything about the fragrance, so my below opinion is not based on anything but my immediate first impressions. The opening blast is undoubtedly Ombre Leather EDP, so I understand why this is somewhat high up in the “This perfume reminds me of” list. I immediately thought OL when I sprayed it, and then I came to the page and was glad I wasn’t crazy. But it very quickly, at least on my skin, transitions away from Ombre Leather and morphs into something more. Something more subtle, nuanced, layered, and in my opinion, and for my taste, better. The leather touch remains, but it transforms into something more cedar-leaning. Like an airy, slightly floral, cedar-ish and more unisex Ombre Leather. Both up close and in the air. Not a safe blind buy unless you think you’ll like an Ombre Leather style spin-off fragrance - but not a clone. This is not a copy, but just a scent that is reminiscent of it.

Being more of a green/marine/white florals gal - It's taken me a minute to get behind Ouds, but I have embraced them. At first it seemed like they all smelled exactly the same maybe because Oud is such a powerful driver but as I am experiencing the Oud family accord I am beginning to be able to distinguish one from the other. As for Perfect Oud it is a good one though Deep Purple and More than Words are my tops at the moment...many more Out's to experience! At first sniff PO emits a strong gasoline note (to my nose) but it quickly settles into an oud forward scent balanced by the florals but not so much that it smells anything like a rose fragrance...it does not....it stays firmly in the Oud. I love a long lasting scents and this one is a laster...I put it on 10 hours ago and can still get faint whiffs of it. So I guess all this is to say I like it, but probably not the one I would purchase for a FB keeper.

This is lovely. At spray, there's a pop of bergamot backed by woody-spicy that I like in a lot of spring/summer fragrances, but the overall composition is more of a cool-season fragrance on account of its sweetness. Perhaps it's a "transition season" fragrance. After the pop of bergamot, it settles quickly into a clean, sweet, floral, woody scent. The woody note makes it distinctively masculine; it also feels like a stretch to name the fragrance after the earthy and animalic oud, as it strikes me as more dominated by clean, coniferous woody notes (juniper and cedar). Overall the scent feels formal and European. The projection on this one is modest, and then it weakens from there; at 10 hours it's better than a skin scent, but not by much. The performance is just marginal enough to keep it shy of a full-bottle commitment on my end. But it is very close. I like this a lot.

One of my favorite YouTubers recommended trying this out, stating it was a pleasant take on Oud. I have to concur; I think the more appropriate name would be Pleasant Oud. I usually struggle with this type of oud as it's usually more fecal smelling to me (very similar to the oud found in Ombre Nomade, which I'm sure must be "real oud"). But paired with the iris it's delicate and mostly inoffensive; I could easily see this as a flanker in Givenchy's Gentlemen line. Suitable for the office, casual, or even dressed up, although I wouldn't wear it on a date. Can wear it all seasons, but perhaps only at night or cloudy days in the summer. Projection and longevity are good, no complaints there. Perfect Oud isn't Perfect, but it gets the job done and I'm happy with my decant. 8/10

I purchased Solar Blossom, which is my absolute favourites currently, and received a sample of this with my order. I don’t tend to like Oud or leathery based scents on men or woman, as often find them nauseating and suffocating. They don’t tend to work with my chemistry and end up smelling like thick, earthy, heavy dust on me. I also don’t like coriander and I’m not overly keen on rose fragrances either, so I would never have thought to test this. Perfectly Oud really surprised me! It’s smooth, sophisticated, very well blended, and perfectly unisex. As someone who doesn’t like Oud, this is by far the best Oud fragrance I’ve ever smelt and could actually wear, as well as enjoy. I’m unsure I’d buy a full bottle, but would happily wear if it was gifted to me.

I have to confess that oud is not my favourite note and there are not many fragrances that I like that contain it. However, when one does come along I tend to really like it and this is one of those fragrances and it wasn't even on my radar. I was sent a bunch of decants as a surprise to try and this was one of them. With the name oud in the title I kind of put off wearing it but decided today was the day. This is super wearable and a great fragrance for those new to oud. Its even what I class as office - friendly I wore it today and it was fine. Its really nice and one of the best oud fragrances I've tried. Will I upgrade? probably not as it isn't note that I reach for often but I will enjoy my decant till the very end.

I will start by saying my wife likes this. On the opening I get a ‘Pine-O Clean’ scent, like Hospital grade disinfectant. When it dries down, it’s ok, I get the rose, Iris and juniper scents, not really a strong oud or any real woody scent. The oud is there but not too strong which I do like. Personally, on the dry down for me it smells like a scented sorbolene cream. Not offensive and pretty safe. I wanted to love this. Alberto Morillas is my favourite perfumer, but it’s just ok. I’d rate it 6/10.

Well I’ll start with this...... it’s definitely a good one It’s fresh It is aromatic Not exactly real oud it’s the synthetic materials that resembles oud in other terms the western take on oud It lasted for a good while I enjoyed it mainly like a designer rather than niche I believe the perfumer got used to working with designers that it’s hard to expect something special from his work To sum it up it’s acceptable and mainstream Sadly it holds no weight in my collection

All purpose, clean and easy wear. Leans more on the dry woody spice and clean musk direction with the modern oud accord, very light florals, certainly nothing remotely funky in there. There is a little bit of fruit initially and it drys down a little bit salty. Refined if not particularly distinctive. Price point and performance are reasonable too. Edit: I figured out what the clean woody spice reminded me of, Orpheon. If Orpheon had oud mixed in.

I really like the fresh opening, not citrusy burst kinda fresh but whiff of fresh roses kinda refreshing. Dries down to a creamy oud which is not too overpowering but strong enough for me to smell it occasionally. The projection is not fantastic for people who want others to notice it but personally, it's sufficient for me. To me, this is a more elegant version of Tom Ford's Oud Wood.

A very light 'n' fresh take on the typically dark, brooding rose-oud combo. Airy rose backed by a clean, uplifting agarwood (which I say to highlight the very woody experience here) and a gentle dusting of finely ground coriander. Has a sort of leathery undertone that gets stronger as it dries down, but it never overtakes the rose. Moderate projection for 2-3hr, longevity 8-10hr.

Beautiful fragrance, but based on my tester, it has poor performance. Very unisex with a classic clean, fresh, and slightly leathery DNA. Would be a fantastic office fragrance and very versatile for business casual to black tie if not for the performance issues. It's a skin scent at best and doesn't last more than 4-6 hours on my skin. The last 2 of which are barely perceptible.

Nice enough scent in a crowded genre. Rose seems quite subdued. Also this is a bit creamy, so it seems like there is a thin layer of Amber, yet not reflected in the accords or notes. I have and prefer Davidoff Agar Blend (discontinued), which has aprominent, billowy Amber accord, although no rose.

It’s a rich scent with dark leathery and woody notes softened by a touch of florals. For me it’s too heavy but I can still appreciate the beauty of this fragrance. It will be definitely smelling nice on a nicely dressed gentleman (most likely an evening scent). Follow me on IG: scent.guide

A very dry, musky oud. Not heavy and pretty easy to wear compared to most. I barely smell the rose, it doesnt add much, there is no sweetness overall. It is not a thick scent like most rose+oud fragrances. A great oud perfume that is unisex! It DEFINITELY has a Ombre Leather similarity!

You're gonna love this review. When I smell this, I picture a 38-60 yrld bald man or, my great aunt or grandma, as the rose is super prominent combined with the oud. Dry down is much more bearable. I couldnt wear this but can see others.

The name is very appropriate -- a very easy to wear, yet refined, well-balanced oud. A faint whisper of something animalic in the opening, delicate and slightly sweet florals and warm wood. Well-made, easy to wear.

Its balanced and nice to have. Oud, cedar and rose combo is beautiful here. The iris smells similar to dior homme parfum on my skin. Sits close to skin and smells great: a must try for sure!

A transparent floral oud. Seems very medicinal to me. Dry down is subtly sweet and slightly powdery. I think it is likable but doesn’t speak to my personal taste as much. 7.7/10

This one is pretty strong, so I usually wear it at night. The woody note is very clear, but honestly it feels way too much for mornings or hot weather, kinda overwhelming 😅

Pretty nice and professional, an approachable and smooth oud. Nothing to drool over, especially for the price. I sampled this in the Geneva store.

I dont like oud but I like this. It is more of a balsamic oud than the typical stinky oud. Very well done. Sophisticated and elegant.
