Moonflower

The first fragrance I was exposed to by this house. I have a bias, in that the Perfumer is based in Rhode Island and that is where I reside. I am always looking to support cool, local business. Imagine my surprise when I found Mizu (now M. Hainey), who was wearing this, Moonflower, one night when we were all out. I asked the question "What is that you're wearing, it's amazing?!" And got the answer. Moonflower is a very green fragrance, but as dark green as you get. The name really speaks to the scent. Floral but not overly feminine, and there is some patchouli in there that just sends it over the top for me. I absolutely love this fragrance.

"Venice at night" painting by Ivan Konstantinovich Electric sparkling yellow moon at night underneath the clouds is what i get from this blend. The spiciness citrus is unbelievably beautiful with it's sparkling fizzy touch that leaves the feeling of thirst away as it dips then drenches into my skin. The yuzu is quite clear with fizzy carbonated water, violet leaves, yellow color, incense, oakmos, and a touch of vetiver. it gives the feeling of stickiness but it's never sticky. This factor stays for around 5 minutes in as it slowly turns into herbal woody and spicy to hit the base note. This blend is from the category of: +"Je Suis un Homme" by Etat Libre d'Orange +"Eau de Gloire" by Parfum d'Empire + & bits like "Phul Nana" by Grossmith with it's creamy but semi sweet orange blossoms At least it starts like the above mentioned but it settles into spicy herbal base and i believe they're from the olibanum, vetiver, & Cypriol Oil that shows at the base note. This is the blend that made me curious about this house to check and honestly it wasn't as i expected but it surprised me and very much captivated me. Beautiful indeed.

Immediately smells like violets and fresh air. Soft and floral with a slight minty-ness, it evokes night time and femininity. Though, it’s light enough to be a daily scent. Then it turns into white florals and frankincense.. like soft jasmine and incense. Reminds me of walking near a temple in Southeast Asia in the moonlight. I can also see myself wearing this for some occasions, particularly for days when grounding is needed.

Starts as lilac with a candy tuberose tart sweetness, and a faint indole. Clearly actual flower extracts here, 100%. Gently floral with warmth and richness beneath. I’m not a huge floral fan in any way, but this is truly lovely. There’s magic in here somewhere. Aptly named.
