Matcha Cloud

I've tried every matcha perfume out there and this is one of my top 5. I think it'll be a controversial scent because it smells like real matcha similar to the high quality powder you get from fancy cafes; rather than tea bags or starbucks lattes. Compared to D'annam's Matcha Soft Serve, which is also a great matcha scent but D'annam is more bitter and grassy. I think the white chocolate and cream notes from Mochiglow's make it smell more like matcha Pocky. To me, it's more wearable since it's sweet so I find myself reaching for it more often than the others. It's definitely different than Sorce, which to me doesn't have the matcha powder smell and is more like a floral ice cream scent. Matcha cloud is creamier and has less of that sharp floral from Sorce's cherry blossom note. best matcha fragrance i've found so far! i've tried the expensive niche ones, and they don't smell like the matcha latte i have in my mind. this one isn't quite latte, but it's a mochi gourmand. definitely smells like a food treat and not herbaceous like the others. it's not overly sweet either, and i find the sillage and longevity is great! would call it moderate to intimate, as it's not going to project across the room, but if you share a desk then your neighbor might be able to get a hint off of you. MSRP is $50-60 on their site, but i scored the old bottle (blind buy) for $30! i think urban outfitters has this for about $40 or so. definitely buy if you want a sweet yet earthy matcha scent! the brand is female and AAPI owned :)

ordered this one so quickly! it’s the most perfect, powdery matcha latte and not at all cloying! i don’t get much white chocolate (and i prefer this without!) but this is still just sweet enough for me. such an easy reach for a cozy day and very office friendly as well!

Smells like "Super Golden Crisp" from the 90s went and made itself into a latte and I'm in love. That stuff smelled better than it tasted and you still get matcha in there, it's just subtle without the fishy note

I have a bit of a history with Mochiglow. I had never seen their fragrances for sale before, but one day, while ordering a bunch of samples from a decant website, I came across the brand and decided to give it a try. I wasn't impressed, especially by their ultra-gourmand collection. Those fragrances reminded me of the scent of fall-scented candles. After that, I thought I probably wouldn't be exploring the brand any further. But recently I visited their official website to see what else they had, and I discovered they were having a sale. They were selling the older versions of their fragrances for just $20 a bottle. That immediately sparked my interest, and I ended up buying almost everything that was on sale. The only ones I skipped were fragrances that simply didn't appeal to me, such as Jasmine Tea and Watermelon Soju. What surprised me the most was that I ended up liking every full-size fragrance I bought. Today I want to talk about Matcha Cloud. I didn't expect anything from this fragrance, but I ended up loving it. To me, it smells like a strong cup of freshly brewed green tea with milk. It's slightly sweet, but never overly sweet or cloying. The composition is genuinely interesting - simple, yet far from ordinary, and most importantly, it doesn't smell synthetic. You can clearly smell the pleasant bitterness and astringency of strongly brewed green tea, along with the creamy softness of milk. Everything is blended together beautifully, creating a perfectly balanced composition. It smells like a delicious, comforting gourmand drink that's cozy without being heavy or sticky. If you've ever had an instant 3-in-1 matcha latte after it has cooled down, you'll have a very good idea of what this fragrance smells like. I’ve really grown to love this fragrance. Whenever I wear it, it wraps me in a sense of comfort and safety. It feels as though time slows down, the rush fades away, and the world becomes quiet and peaceful. As if everything is going to be okay, and no bad news is coming from anywhere.

This is my winner out of the Mochiglows I've tried. On my skin it's a bakery gourmand, because the pistachio, rice, and honey make a mildy sweet scent like cream-layered, waffle-pattern, wafer cookies. It really is light and cloudlike, but with minimal sillage. That's good though. I prefer my own personal cloud! As much as I like it, I smell almost no matcha, and the bakery scent on its own isn't my *ahem* cup of tea. Currently I'm layering it with a sample of Mochiglow Twilight Jade to add some kind of detectable tea note. The drydown is very coffee-like, as though I switched to the coffee flavored cream wafers. (Which I do love- yum!) But I still want actual matcha. All that being said, I do think Matcha Cloud will become part of my full bottle collection- I just need to find a good matcha scent to layer with it.

i'm surprised at the amount of middling-bad reviews this has. The initial spray has a really nice matcha-powdery scent thats not overwhelmingly sweet. While I do agree somewhat that as time goes on, the scent becomes less like matcha and more like green tea, it still has a nice sweetness that I find most matcha based scents miss.

It really does smell like a matcha dessert bakery. Warm and sweet rice flour, nuttiness, cream, vanilla, even the white chocolate. The matcha is there but not very prominent in my skin. More rice, less sweetness, and more matcha would make this more wearable and unique. As it is it smells like matcha wafer cookies, like someone else mentioned. I will enjoy my sample but would not purchase a full bottle.

Oddly specific but smells like one of those Japanese Matcha Kit Kats, at least shortly after spraying. Something like white chocolate, maybe with a small hint of pistachio or nuttiness/savoriness, seems to dominate upon drydown but I can still detect some of those earthy matcha notes. Just wish it lasted longer and projected more (especially that opening scent).

Working my way through the Mochiglow Tea & Desserts set. This one is fine, it starts off surprisingly complex and sultry, with a hint of brown sugar, but the drydown is 100% green tea on me. It smells like I dipped my wrists in yerba maté. Nice to reminisce about hanging out with Argentineans, but not a fragrance I'll reach for again anytime soon.

On immediate wear, it smells just like sweet matcha-dusted mochi. Mouth-watering sweetness, but not overly cloying. But after only about 5 minutes, it loses the sweetness and turns a lot more powdery, almost like ashes. Not strong sillage at all. I could barely smell it until my nose was right next to my skin.

To me, this is not a matcha scent. It’s not green at all. It’s toasted barley and sweet brown rice, with a sour yeasty note beneath, almost spoiled milk (not a green bitterness, but a white milky yeast bitterness). As intriguing as the toasty bready quality of it is, and if you sit with it it does have a bit of a slight powdery vaguely matcha tea quality to it, the sour note ruins it and makes it smell slightly putrid and offputting. When given a blind sample, friends said this smelled like rice steam and yeast infection. Spare yourself! Another group of friends noted: smells like burnt underside of a cookie and food, don’t like, like tobacco-y burny dark roast, very strong burnt food smell

maybe one of those cases where "perfume does what it says it will do" does not equal "...therefore i like it." i mean, it's definitely matcha! albeit the sweetened starbucks kind, with a lot of honeydew. definitely rice milk or maybe coconut milk—i don't get anything nutty or warm, just cool whipped topping that's not even real cream. a tiny tiny scent that dissipates almost immediately, like the other Mochiglow i've tried. it's not offensive? but i wouldn't buy a lot of it, either. au fond, kind of a tween fragrance, boba-forwards and not much umami or gravitas (which is how i prefer my matcha).

This is the first matcha fragrance that I’ve smelled where matcha isn’t overpowering all the other notes. It’s not a dirty earthy matcha due to the creamy notes and sweet elements. However, after an hour the caramel starts to take over and it becomes cloying and almost headache inducing. If it stayed like it did in the beginning I would consider purchasing but I’m not a fan of the dry down.

This is the first matcha scent I've tried so far and I really love it. I mainly get the white chocolate and matcha notes and it's so delicious. I haven't tried the matcha KitKats, but I imagine this is how they would smell. My only issue is that this seemed to last about an hour on my skin before I could barely smell it anymore. It doesn't seem to project very much either. My other Mochiglow scents lasted longer than this which is such a shame, because this was my favorite from the four that I tried. I'm so torn because I really want a full bottle of this to drench myself in but can't justify spending money on a scent that barely lasts on me. If I can find this discounted somewhere somewhere I may grab it. Maybe it will become stronger as it ages more. Edit: I ended up buying a bottle because even though this is on the lighter side, I kept coming back for it. Such a yummy scent!

Just FYI according the their site if you've purchased basically after Feb this year, this has been reformulated. Old version is literally the best matcha perfume I've smelled out of a bunch (overose, d'annam, phlur, sorce, solinotes, theodoros kalotinis, and a few others I'm forgetting) literally smells like matcha tea and it's perfect. Hope when I run out that the new version smells just as good. Longevity is decent.

pretty good matcha scent. it’s subtly sweet, earthy, super warm. there is a slightly sour facet to this in the dry down. its very photorealistic to me in a way that is slightly off putting, but i reach for this when im specific moods. could see this being a love or hate for many. super underrated

This starts out smelling like coffee and then turns into a sour green tea. Thought this would have been like Sorce Match made in heaven, but I was severely disappointed 😞.
