Iris Ardent

I got a very small sample of Iris Ardent when I bought Habanita. It's not in a spray bottle so I had to just dab it on. Of all my recent samples, this is the one that stayed on my mind, that I wanted to come back to a second time. The words that describe this to me are "creamy leather." Top notes are leathery with spikes of cypress and juniper. It dries down into something powdery and creamy. I'm pleasantly surprised that it is not more floral. I don't love florals. It's almost masculine, but then there is a softness. It's a comforting leather, like you want to crawl inside it.

I tried this perfume for two consecutive days, and it truly impressed me with its powdery, leathery, woody scent infused with floral and spicy touches, softened beautifully by iris and violet. I find it especially suitable for cold indoor settings and the winter season. In terms of performance, the projection lasted around two hours before fading, and the longevity wasn’t very strong either — after about four hours, only a very faint trace remained on clothes. Still, the scent itself is truly delightful and worth experiencing.

Received a sample with my Habanita order. I'll have to agree with ArtisanScholar — a rich creamy leather with a masculine touch. I'm a 26 years old girl with really stereotypical girly taste, yet there's something so reassuring and addicting with Iris Ardent. Bear with me, but it's almost like you're constantly sitting in a high end car with a full leather interior, next to a man wearing a fresh Cologne. Although that's never happened to me, it's somewhat comforting? 😂 Love it! It's also a bit smoky. Maybe the guy smoked a ciggy before entering the car? This would be such a sexy scent on a man. Or anyone!

Iris Ardent is quite far from what name and what listed notes would suggest. hard to describe, but quite unplesant aroma to my nose. I get strong, masculine woody note and kind of rotten, old flowers notes that bring earthy smell and lack refinement (smooth blending). I definitely prefer the other Iris EDP from that house. So, I do not recommend this one as a blind buy, but really encourage anyone to try the other Iris EDP from Molinard 😎 They have natural and quire realistic take on flowers, which is of high quality.
