Lavande

If Molinard's intention was to create a lavender scent which has enough complexity to be thought of as sophisticated, urbane, chic and even mysterious, well, congratulations to them : they succeeded. And paradoxically, I find it captures the wonderful aromatic and warm fragrant breeze which blows above the lavender fields in Provence better than any other lavender fragrance I have worn so far. For men and women, and probably the most versatile scent I own. Signature material ? Let's say that if I had to keep only a few bottles from my "collection", it would be among them. Edit I forgot to mention that my review is about the EDT. It seems like it has been discontinued and is now only available in EDP concentration.

A very true lavander scent, but it has a little sweetness from the resin and vanilla that rounds the scent out and makes it less herbal. Lavander can seem very cold but the warmer sweet notes make it much warmer and more wearable as a scent and not something just for bathwater. It is a great scent for casual evening wear, relaxing around the house.

It's a plain scent, it really smells like lavender really (haven't found any vanilla at all). Not on a synthetic way , it really reminds me the lavender my parents had in their garden. The problem is , in my country the lavender is the "traditional" smell for toilet refresher -__- , thus i can't wear this . For true lavender lovers only !

A pretty lavender fragrance, more on the feminine side. It's a little too sweet on me, so I tried layering it with some pure lavender water which worked quite well. Great for those times when you want a scent that's both relaxing and refreshing. Longevity is good.

Just got this today, first impressions - very nice, enough complexity to be interesting, I detect the vanilla and herbal notes. Agree it will be very versatile. Like, may develop into love.

I got this today, the bottle is heavy and well made, you get a small lovely felicitations note upon opening it, a really nice gesture, in french, so lovely. The crystal cap is nice and the nozzle is purple, the scent, the scent is sweet, it is sweet lavender, I suppose it is the same composition as the original, vanilla, musk, benzoin, I feel it is all there as the original, but a little less sweet, but still has that powdery lavender goodness. This one lasts longer than the blue bottle original, this is the arched one in purple. It smells fancy, earthly, cheeky, you can literally get like a purple aura in your mind, with calming effects, and the feel of nature, herbs, and lavender fields in France. This is sweet lavender, French lavender the kind you put in a room for pleasure, not the one you fill your bathroom with, simply divine, The original, I spray to sleep comfy, this one I think I would wear for dress as it is stronger, but both can be used to soothe. I have point out again, this is sweet french lavender, it's not the herbal eucalyptus kind, it's not offensive, or defensive but sweetly pleasant and welcoming, totally worth adding to your collection. Now another point is it seems almost like a solidflore, you can buy this to create a composition, combine and layer to create your own effect, truly. Top Note Lavandin, Clary Sage Heart Note Lavender, Patchouli, Labdanum Base Note Tonka Beans, Benzoin, Vanilla, Musk

Thankfully, I am getting more depth out of this one than others. Or I have lower standards for lavender fragrances. It could go either way, as I am generally not a lavender fan. However, I like the way Molinard does simple fragrances, so I figured if I was going to buy a lavender, it'd be this one. So lavender, of course. The vanilla is coming across more like tonka/coumarin to me? It doesn't have that very typical lavender/tonka fougere smell though, which is nice. I enjoy fougeres from time to time, but that scent is very distinctive and I'd have been a bit letdown if Lavande smacked of it. I find the labdanum quite strong and leathery here. A major plus. It counters the powdery facets of Lavande quite well. Sandalwood is also prominent. It's the pleasant, creamy type of sandalwood found in Dune or Cartier Must. The notes here all all easy to pick out (for me) and compliment each other so nicely. I do believe I made the right choice in regard to a lavender I can truly enjoy.

The lavender market is bursting at the seams, so you really have to do something exceptionally well to command attention. Molinard LAVANDE is just fine, no more and no less. Not the best I've tried, nor is it the worst. I think that the coumarin is not helping, but I won't be acquiring this one anyway because of the poor longevity, which is more like that of a cologne--or even lavender water--than an edt. I'll stick with Guerlain Aqua Allegoria LAVANDE VELOURS or L'Occitane ORGANIC LAVENDER to satisfy my immediate lavender needs.

High Quality Lavender fragrance. Very similar to Lavender Extreme, as well as Purple Rain by Makin Scents. There is a bit of a sweet campherous note which makes this a bit different.
