Les Fleurs Fleur De Figuer

Oh it's so figgy at first, but the notes appeared somewhat in reverse order on my skin. The opening was sharp and green with galbanum being dominant. Wonderful for resin-lovers like myself! The heart notes felt a bit unisex, when the orange and cedar co-mingled. The dry-down was a sweet, slightly powdery, woody cedar, with the occasional waft of galbanum re-emerging. It felt clean, vaguely soapy at times, in a very unisex way. I like it so much, I am trying to decide whether it is a "love". But it doesn't feel like a women's floral at all to me.

I am a sucker for fig so of course I love this. This could have easily been a Prada perfume called "Infusion de Figue". Where Infusion d'Iris has green notes, powdery iris and galbanum, this one has fig leaf, a very powdery wood note and, of course, galbanum. The result is a very clean, fresh, delicate fragrance. I wonder if this is in anyway similar to the discontinued Aqua Allegoria Figue-Iris by Guerlain. I've alway been curious about that one.

A perfect fragrance for summer and even into fall. It has a fresh, crisp, greeny scent that truly lasts all day long with only a few sprays. Adding a hint of sexiness is the warmth of galbanum. I highly recommend this for daytime wear and especially nice for those who prefer not wearing those fruity florals that are in over-abundance these days.

The very first notes are milk sap of a young fig tree shoot and a very pronounced almond note - a gourmand cobination: bitter and bright, both notes support each other. Then in a short while almong disappears, leaving sweetness in its place. At this point I like Fleur de Figuer much less for there is not enough fig left - the fig sap smell of the opening is only a faint shadow of what it was in the beginning. The sweet note is amber, a component I usually adore, but here it's just too sweet and not resiny at all. Looking at the pyramid, I was surprised to see that out of all 4 notes there's no almond I smell distincly in the opening, but there's an orange that wasn't in existence for me at any stage of this scent. The drydown is less sweet and very comforting, the fig leaf reappears, less bitter than fig sap in the beginning, but very distinct. The cedar is mild and warm and non-obtrusive. Pleasant scent all in all, but not a master creation, somehow the notes don't blend well together, but remain separate and distinct, I wish there would be uniformity in Fleur de Figuer. But when I want a punch of freshness into my face, like in March when you are wary of winter and want spring to come at last, I reach for this Molinard to hurry spring up.
