Patchouli Intense

I LOVE how when a Fragrance has the word (Patchouli) in the name, It smells LIKE PATCHOULI!! Lol! Yeah so Patchouli Intense smells freakin gorgeous! It comes out swinging with a big dose of Choclatey, slightly medicinal, earthy Patchouli. Im getting no sharp edges and its sweett, but not that "Nauseating/Heavy-Gourmand" type of sweetness. Someone had mentioned that this smells like they "Spilled wine on their shirt", and while I'm NOT getting THAT sensation, there is something sorta boozy and a bit Fruity during the opening, but as it dries down it looses some of those boozy, fruitiy, medicinal touches and becomes a semi-sweet, still choclaty patchouli.. SOOO GOOD! Also, this fragrance reminds my a bit of Molinards Musc except that Musc is a bit fruitier (Grape) and not as medicinal, but that one is also very Patchouli heavy so.. There ya have it. And I dont get why some folks are bashing this fragrance? I mean its called (Patchouli Intense) and it certainly delivers on its NameSake! Now this is my experience straight out the Brand New bottle and I just sprayed it on like 10 minutes ago so Ill be back for an update, but yeah this thing SLLLAPS straight out the brand-new bottle ya'll! I can just tell its gonna be quite "Beastly" too especially in about a week after its "Maturated" a bit. Anyhow, I'Ill be back for a thorough update later this week. VERY NICE though! But (ONLY) for the "Authentic" smelling-Patchouli Lovers!

Just got my hands on this beautiful scent! It’s dry patchouli borderline dirty but it leans much more on the medicinal side! Oh the delicious praline and Tonka rounds it and anchor it from being too dry or dirty. It’s a gorgeous ying and yang balance going on! As for the other notes the cashmeran is soothing and silky & the sandalwood is in the background also smoothing out the edges it’s a beautiful perfume!

Having a bottle with a pump sprayer I can say that the performance of the fragrance is really weak, projects only about an hour and stays on clothes for about 4 hours as a skin scent, I hear people that have bottles with a standard sprayer say that it has really strong performance. Is it true? If so I would rush to buy a new bottle since I absolutely love the scent.

This is for patchouli lovers for sure. Its bold and earthy. The tonka and praline make it more complex and rich, which I love. For me this is a delicious wearing experience. I find the value to be excellent considering the reasonable price point.

It is absolutely stunning and very niche like smell, but at the same time it is very similar to Vanille Patchouli same from Molinard, which is less sweet and way less fruity, and way better performance in all aspects.

best patchouli smell. Soft feminine, and not strong. Sweet notes very bright but I love it! very cozy and gentle smell.

Very sweet warm intense patchouli with cold levander notes.❤

Sans excès de sucrerie, Molinard signe ici un patchouli arrondi de praliné et de musc. Le résultat est certes "baba 70", mais assez souriant, sans excès. C'est confortable comme une écharpe toute douce enroulée autour du cou et dans laquelle on plonge le nez, un matin froid. Le nouveau vaporisateur a perdu sa poire, et tant mieux! Il est surtout moins déprimant que le modèle "borne", presque noir mat, qui faisait pierre tombale. Associé à Angel, il lui rend de cette superbe qu'il a perdu depuis dix ans. Et Molinard confirme qu'il est possible en 2017 de faire des parfums qui tiennent, diffusent, se distinguent et qui n'assomment pas le client lors du passage en caisse. Well crafted hippy patchouli with a hint of cocoa/toffee, PI surrounds you in the very good way and can be layered with Angel. It gives him a bit of his lost strenght back. Molinard does affordable perfumes still in 2017 with the IFRA & EEC restrictions far away from the Marketing from greedy high end brands. One of my signatures, in the top of my feel good and night time fragrances. And sometimes mixed with Habanita when I want to fill the room and be noticed... And for Black Friday, my big 500 ml is on its way home...

@ Chazas I owned the previous black/dark brown spray, have the current one and a 500 ml bottle & I can tell you that this fragrance like most from Molinard (I also own a few Habanita's, Ambré Lumière...) performs way better than what major brands offer these days. When I enter our office my female colleagues complain about how I fill the room, the space and their atmosphere. But I'm not into tiny drops or dabbing. I use 50-100 ml/a month. And at home it's so nice to go to bed with it sprayed under my hoodie. The warmth of my body under the blanket makes it blossom.

When the patchouli starts to wear off within 2 hours, omg the sweetness starts coming in. The tonka bean saved this fragrance, it is musky and of course has patchouli in it. The tonka bean brings the patchouli together making it smell so much better imo. As the hours go by (6 hour mark) it starts to fade yet leaving a lingering soft scent that I get a trace of when it is windy outside. I like this fragrance, best to wear it in fall/winter.

Admitedly, I am not a huge patchouli fan, and this was a sample I was reluctant to use, but trust me - this is the best patchouli scent ever created, especially if you want patchouli as a leading aroma. Deep, intoxicating, with a heavy chocolate edge. And the patchouli is at its best - boozy, creamy, spicy, chocolatey. Stunning.

Definitely not a traditional, hippy patchouli! It is smooth and sweet, with definite similarity with Mugler Angel! This is much more unisex, and less aggressively sweet than Angel, downplaying the ptentially cloying cotton candy accord. This is lush and beautiful!

I usualy don't like gourmand, but here pachouli is very beautifuly complimented by praline and tonka, scent is very soft and feminine, but earthy enough for me to like it. Earthiness is calming, comforting and peaceful, not cold. On my skin stays for 6+ hours 🦊

@ Compositeur I would say Patchouli intense is closer to Borneo 1834 from Lutens. And you can combine it with Angel for a great layering experience. This is how you would get the best impression about what original Angel (1992) was.

i never thought it was possible for there to be a perfume that smells like candy and flowers yet still somehow smell “witchy” and a little bit dark, but here we are!! from the bottle it smells heavenly, it's unfortunately weird after it hits my skin

I partly like this. Wonderful patchouli and sandalwood, a little freshness from neroli... but I think that praline ruins it for me. It is too sweet, disturbingly sweet.

When I first smelled Patchouli Intense, I knew right away it had praline and cashmeran. I had no idea what the notes were going in. I did not look this up. God this is truly disgusting! I am getting the most pungent patchouli imaginable combined w/ Muglers Alien (there is that grape sickly jasmine smell here) Muglers Angel w/ it's sickening sweet praline and I am also getting the plastic smell of cashmeran. This is quite possibly the most disgusting and gross perfumes I have ever smelled. So, it is dirty, pungent atomic strength patchouli combined w/ Muglers Alien and Angel w/ some horrid cashmeran, which by the way smells like a musk lotion from a cheap plastic bottle that sat in a hot car for about a week or longer. Just beyond words terrible.

@DomfromBE I like patchouli--I'm here looking for the next right patchouli-forward fragrance--but I'm pretty sure there's a tenth circle in hell reserved for people (such as you, according to what you say below) who can get through about 1.7-3.3 ml of a patchouli-forward fragrance (i.e. anything up to about five little sample bottles' worth, depending on how small the bottles are) per *day* and somehow consider that workplace-appropriate despite expressly being told it's not. I think it's the circle right at the bottom, directly below Judas's, so that he has to put up with having bloody great ghostly wafts of weapons-grade patchouli assault his nostrils all the livelong day. That amount of perfume is overkill worthy of a host of enraged serial killers combined anyway--about one-fifth as much would rarely be unduly conservative--but with a fragrance so patchouli forward that "patchouli" is even in the name, it's pretty much something for the International Criminal Court to be looking at. Today I shall be mostly wondering whether all those balloons beside your comment are an indication of how few people know how to apply fragrance with restraint or whether the balloons are there in loving memory of all the female colleagues you've gassed.

The reviews on here were less than thrilling when I began my '"Great Patchouli Hunt". I'm going to court for this one so hear me out. It has a touch of vintage Tabu ! I have vintages of "generic" patchouli perfumes - as well as vintage Tabu samples ; Cola-Chocolate musty soil. It's good-- if that's what you were looking for. As others have said - it has a pinch of vintage Angel as well. (How am I doing?). This is affordable . The bottle looks nice on your dressing table (copper & purple: weirdly chic) . Longevity is perfect, however you will not get compliments (has anyone noticed that Patchouli forward perfumes never get compliments?). GRADE: B plus. Vintage , Unisex, Angel / A-Men , soil, chocolate, Tabu cola = safe blind buy.

smells like being in a glastonbury crystal shop and feeling out of place with your caffe nero hazelnut latte. I love patchouli scents but this is very patchouli heavy, almost like straight patchouli essential oil. I used to put patchouli and jasmine oil in my hair when I was sixteen and it's basically that. the sweet praline notes lighten it but otherwise I'm not sure they complement each other very well--patchouli feels too grungy to be paired with gourmand notes to me. would recommend if you want a straight-up witchy patchouli fragrance; good for when you're camping at stonehenge for the solstice and can't get to a shower

Do you know what this smells like? Back in the day, friends would wear Mugler Angel (the very first one). Patchouli Intense smells exactly like that. (OK maybe not exactly, but pretty close.) I'm not suggesting that this was Molinard's intention, just how it comes across to my nose. It's a really lovely composition, with a strong overall performance. But, I still find the best patch frag (for me) is Villoresi's.

Such a delicious patchouli. I received a sample when ordering Habanita La Cologne, and oh my! Smells like chocolate on my skin. It's earthy but sweet, not as strong as I thought it would be. It's a very pleasant scent and I love it! My skin does tend to make everything smell sweeter, so keep that in mind. The earthy side takes over after 3 hours.

with neroli and patchouli being two of my favorite notes i’m not surprised that i absolutely love this. this is a beautiful and warm sweet earthy patchouli with a touch of neroli that keeps it slightly fresh. it’s so gorgeous. smells like my favorite metaphysical store. i’m astonished by how affordable this is for what you’re getting

Just like the old brown bottle... Warm, spicy and very powerful. Unlike DomfromBE below, I suggest it's worn with respect - and not like a cheap body spray. update 2020: I've now sold this on ebay. just couldn't cope with the chocolate element. hopefully the buyer will enjoy.

Blind buy and total fail for me :-( I love patchouli but this here is not really a patchouli centered scent. To me it smells more like cologne than a perfume and I should’ve paid more attention... it has neroli. And neroli tends to ruin scents for me.

A lot more my style than their og patchouli, with addition of tonka and praline, Intense is more ambery rounded and warm. I'm glad geranium is removed too.
