Secret Sucré

Another favourite in my collection. A rich, sugary, powdery scent - very potent, but not overpowering. It sits close to the skin and lasts (on me) for 12+ hours. It's very linear - starts as a strong combination of nougat, vanilla and caramel, with benzoin and tonka joining after about 15-30 minutes, and stays that way until it disappears completely. It completely obscures any and all outside smells - I tried sampling some other perfume while wearing this fragrance and could not smell it, even with the testing paper pulled right into my face. For me, it's one of the most powerful fragrances I've ever tried - I spray it once and it lasts all day, never diminishing in strenghth until I take a shower. It's rich and its sweetness is nuanced, made complex by the carmelised nature of sugars used in the composition, as well as the prominent benzoin. For me, a fantastic winter fragrance.

It is one of the most beautiful scents I have ever smelled! The first impression is gingerbread. Very sophisticated and discreet. Walnut is also prominent. Somehow reminds the scene if I would open a golden glowing wooden chest with sugary gingerbreads in it & like I would be in a Downton Abbey episode. Definitely reminds me of Christmas but i think it’s not definitely an only winter time fragrance rather a nostalgic one. Soft and harsh accords making a gentle, linear relaxing melody. Although it doesn’t have a big impact -sillage or longevity- a very compact and artistically complex scent. There are fragrances which tell stories to me, shows me scenarios, textures, feelings and eras - this one from the early 1900s. Maybe an older highclass lady who was a passenger of the titanic. I could write a whole book about what this one makes me feel!

One thing I've learned from testing lots of frags is that benzoin smells great with my skin chemistry. While some describe it as a note that can quickly skew medicinal, on me it's a rich, spicy, resin-y note that enhances other notes around it. The benzoin in Secret Sucre is much smoother than it is in, say, Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked, but is still very present. It gives a sweet and spicy depth to the caramel, nougat and powder in SS and the effect is like the chicest fireside imaginable. In fact, SS recalls Margiela's By the Fireside and Reminiscence's Tonka as well. But this isn't a dupe of any frag I've sampled; Secret Sucre is the epitome of a well-executed gourmand. I'm so grateful to have swapped for this with a sweet fellow Fragrantican! ❤

Absolutely lovely 💕 This isn't a super sweet, gourmand perfume with strong projection/longevity if you're looking for that! If you want true gourmand then fragrances such as Bianco Latte are a great choice. This is quite airy and sophisticated. Secret Sucre is definitely not a sexy, date night perfume ..rather an everyday daily one. I have the post-2023 version and I do not pick up the vintage, mature facet in Secret Sucre, actually it's youthful! Imagine a powdery, sweet nougat-ish smell, nothing like makeup powder at all - a bit of nuttiness, woodsy characteristics. Tl;dr Secret Sucre smells high quality and niche. It's a feminine and classy office-oriented perfume.

First impression review - this is beautiful! It's a soft, sweet gingerbread scent. It's a pretty soft sillage and projection. I did about six sprays. Not sure yet about longevity. The spices are soft. It is a super feminine scent and lovely for every day wear. This can be worn in any season. It's not too spicy that it can only be worn in the fall/winter. It's soft, sweet and girly. I did amp it up by layering BBW Jolly Gingerbread Village. I smell soooooo good! Excited to have this in my collection. Will update on longevity later. But I don't mind layering or reapplying. Such a happy scent. Two thumbs up for me.

This has to be the best gourmand I have ever had the privilege to smell. On me it's quite linear: powdery nougat, warm vanilla, creamy caramel with some nuttiness and tonka lurking in the background. It's not overwhelmingly, nauseatingly, headache-inducingly sweet, but a perfectly balanced blend. Very sophisticated and elegant, has the kind of class that you don't often come across in this genre of scents (especially if you're at the mall). Longevity is great, projection is soft enough to be wearable in most settings. I personally find this to be very feminine, however, everything is unisex if you just wear it.

This one is still on my wishlist, after I worked in a niche perfume stand I found this one and fell in love immediately! I'm glad I could spray over me for free everyday. :D Anyways, this is the gourmand scent that is not too sweet that creates nausea nor headache to me or others. Very caramel like with a hint of woodiness and kinda mystery feeling. I can't wait to have my own bottle. The only thing that I'm a bit put off is the dryout, too strong woody for my taste it turns even a bit medicinal smell to me. But despite that I still love this one and can't wait to put my hands again on it!

This one is just so so beautiful. It is not nearly as sweet as the notes would suggest. By far not a usual pop sweet caramel-vanilla frag. No. This is beautiful, subtle, woody and so elegant. Definitely a unisex frag. On me starts out nutty with some vanilla and with time settles into a lovely and subtle woody, powdery, caramel-nougat scent. Very decadent and very warm. Deep and classy. Definitely a gourmand scent. Beautiful! Last ages and draws so many compliments!

Criminally underrated. Falled in love with it for the cold season. Not your typical sugary perfume. It’s like a trip to a fair with chestnut grilled in a corner and nougat selled in another one. It’s not overwhelming, it’s very comforting like a hug from someone you didn’t see in a long time. Maybe it’s linear yes but it’s definitely something you don’t smell on others. Very different from the classic Molinard vibe. It’s the perfume of good memories.

Secret Sucré ... what can I say ... as a Turkish dessert - a very sweet, fragrant, delicious dessert. It starts quite noisy, but quickly becomes muffled and wonderful. Its sweetness is special, it has a strange tart hue, which is quite addictive. For lovers of sweet aromas, this will be a real treasure. I can feel a pronounced vanilla, caramel notes, benzoin, and in the beginning it really smells like nougat.

My goodness, what a gorgeous scent this is! I hadn’t seen that coming :) I really like that this isn’t too sweet. It’s sweet but not a cloying kind. Reminds me a bit of Kouros Body pour homme ☀️

A true sugar scent that is not cloying at all, which I found surprising. I love gourmands, but I'm not the biggest fan of pure white sugar in perfumery. In my opinion there is a huge difference between sweet and sugary. Sugary is a specific kind of sweet that is different from fruity-sweet or vanilla-sweet, so I was not quite what to expect from a fragrance that is explicitly named after sugar, but consists of lots of different sweet notes. Secret Sucré definitely has a noticeable sugar note that feels kind of crumbly and crunchy to me, and I like it. Very unusual. Due to the creamy, warm notes of benzoin and cashmeran it doesn't come across screechy and has some depth. A hint of jasmine, musky and woodsy notes add lightness, so it's overall a balanced scent. Now don't get me wrong, this is still very, very sweet, just not in a shrill high-pitched way. I can't really smell the walnut note and I only detect the nougat when I really search for it, and it's the white, chewy sort of nougat, not the soft brown kind. To me this isn't much of a nutty scent. Nougat is one of my favorite treats to eat, so I had hoped to smell more if it, but the fragrance is nice anyways. A gourmand comfort scent that doesn't overwhelm. I appreciate that they didn't add lots of smoke, woods and spices so this has a certain airiness to it, even though it's intense, long-lasting and more suited to cold weather.

I really need to stop letting myself fall for yet another exclusive, hard to find, pricier than I'm comfortable with fragrance. I just adore Molinard as a brand. It all started with the very inexpensive Vanille Patchouli. I couldn't believe what I got for the price! It's obvious the quality of ingredients used in this is above baseline. It's a soft, pretty straight forward scent that's very typical of Molinard style and completely unlike anything I've smelled before. The scent color is creamy beige. It's nutty and chewy with the softness of powder keeping it from going full gourmand. It's yummy but not dense and heavy at all. I could see myself wearing this on a daily basis if I didn't have so many others to get through. I want a full bottle badly and will not be able to get it out of my head until that happens.

Total 180 with this one :( It smells incomplete to me now, like it was rushed and the ingredients weren't totally blended. The benzoin sticks out noisily, which makes the powder / nougat combo hard to stand after a short while. Although not listed, it behaves and smells like a play on musk after it's been on the skin a while and starts to project. It's a clean laundry, bordering metallic musk. Benzoin, clean (metallic) musk, powder and nuts (nougat). But the ratios are imbalanced and things go weird. Hard to believe I couldn't stand the thought of never owning a bottle and now I just can't stand it. I have a hard time writing it off because it was such a wonderfully comforting, delicious scent to me before. My samples haven't turned :( It's just a sad example of fragrance ruined by changing taste.

It's super nice to have more powdery fragrance during cold days. Beautiful bottle and cap. Instantly get the nougat scent. Not too sweet but just right. Somehow, I sense a bit almondy note in it. There were several moments I felt a similar feeling with the "By the Fireplace" fragrance, I guess it's the cashmeran working. In general, it's not very strong nor lasting. You almost have to put your nose right next to the skin to sniff to get the smell. But comforting for sure! A good pillow time fragrance.

Sweet sugar and vanilla nutty caramel. The scent is a blast of nutty sugary vanilla caramel with hints of tonka spices. There is a creamy nutty woodiness to it that really makes the scent great. It reminds me of yummy things baking at Christmas time and the scent of vanilla wafting through the air. There is a strong caramel presence, but the nutty vanilla dominates. Its kind of like the scent of those caramelized roasted almonds or sweet caramelized hazelnut/chestnut/walnut scent.

For me, this perfume smells like nougat - sweet and nutty. I usually don't really like gourmet perfumes because they can be too sweet and cloying, but this one is moderately sweet. The name describes the fragrance perfectly. Secret Sucré is not white refined sugar that is available to everyone, it is muscovado sugar - a deep, caramel and creamy, secret ingredient of dessert that makes the dish unique, but at the same time exquisite and not too sweet.

Secret Sucré is indeed a little sugary secret because it is not just a sweet scent that swallows all the different notes. Even though caramel, vanilla and tonka bean are the predominant notes I get, Secret Sucré never gets overbearingly sweet. I attribute this to the powder and cashmere notes that add some elegance and refinement to this perfume. Longevity on my clothes is excellent and after 12 hours I get mostly powdery wafts.

Have just got a 2 ml decant. I get sugar and not much more. There is also some note that I cannot identify that slightly irritates me. I plan to give it a few global wearings but can already bet I will stay with Molinard Vanille Patchouli. Definitely a very specific, niche fragrance that only may attract a small group of people with some experience in this field. What is good for the fans, it's a quite powerful scent.

Smelling burnt sugar on my skin, it’s top heavy with benzoin dominating. Nougant is under that heavy, strange benzoin note. Then sandalwood, floral notes and powder. I’m vacillating between a like and a dislike— due to one note that feels off. I think Secret Sucre has too much benzoin, if it was turned down a notch I think Secret Sucre would be stellar.

pleasant, non offensive, ageless and almost vintage smelling sweet parfume. but it lacks personality for me. but maybe its because we are so overwhelmed with gourmand releases now in 2025. maybe if i smelled this few years back my opinion would be different.

This is very nice, but very fleeting like the other Molinard(s) I've tried. Has a fuzzy, almost musky aura which is really pleasant has give it a nice projection. It's like snuggling up with a comfortable desert that isn't too sweet. 7/10

Secret Sucre is a simple, sweet, yet clean scent. Its ok but didnt fall in love.

First impression (on paper) was a warm vanilla mixed with a strong aftershave. The scent of aftershave, to my untrained nose, detracts from my likeability of this one, and gives it a more unisex / masculine lean. --- EDIT: I just tried it on my wrists; overall, my first impressions were mostly spot on. The distinct smell of aftershave still overpowers the vanilla in a way I don't like, as I first encountered. That said, the vanilla mix is cozier than it appeared on paper, and as such I would no longer classify this perfume as leaning more masculine: instead I think it's firmly unisex, with the smallest nudge toward more feminine leaning. This might interest people looking for a very specific type of 'clean vanilla' - not of the usual light and airy persuasion (the vanilla amber mix in this perfume is far to cozy/heavy) but in the 'fresh, after rain, just out of shower, clean laundry' way mixed alongside a cozy toasted sugar. While I don't personally like it, the perfume marries those two concepts very well so it's not a disjointed scent. I can see it as a tomboy vanilla.

NO, NO, NO !! This one is an absolute scam : of "sucré", there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !! This one is "SECRET PEPPER" !! When I sprayed it on my wrist today at 9AM, it was a faint jasmine undefined note. But then, a very few time later,an ugly pepper note (that I don't understand as pepper is not included into the notes even if it is listed in the cons list). Almost six hours later (longevity has to be good as it still present, sillage irradiates within arm length), all I get from it is pepper, undefined jasmine and some sandalwood I guess : no vanilla, no nougat, no benzoin, no caramel, NOTHING GOURMAND. Actually, this one is to be defined as a masculine scent. Hopefully, Molinard is far more talented at doing vanillas. Scrubbing it, arrivederci e ciao !!

Powdery nougat opening. Then, sweet, sugary cream with vanilla, tonka, and caramel. Slightly nutty. Touch of jasmine. Mainly woody, ambery, and balsamic sweetness. Not a sugar bomb though. Very tasteful. Very poor performance though, so weak.

I was sold on the powdery nougat and the name Secret Sucre! Cause that just sounds amazing...I thought I would love it, wanted to love it. To me this is very heavy on black pepper, surprised it's not in the notes. It's gourmand- yes, but in the way that this is the forgotten dense old molasses nougat with rancid bitter almond/walnut skin at the bottom of your aunt's old leather purse sitting beside the tube of hand cream. I think it's the cashmeran wood that gives it an undying mature fragrance note that just lasts and lasts...

To my nose, the most reminiscent of Secret Sucre is Exquis Noir - if you like one, you'll like the other. L'Artisan seems a bit more complex and sheer and maybe more unisex towards masculine, where this one leans feminine, although I see no reason for a man to avoid it, since mixed with the masculine chemistry will create a different aura. So, men, don't shy away from this on a cozy weekend. It's not a scent that is likely to offend anyone. It feels cuddly and perfect for spending some time on the couch watching moves. The person who wears it exudes warmth and sensuality without trying hard. It is exactly like the Muscovado sugar mentioned before. If you are to take freshly ground walnuts and dust them with muscovado sugar, Secret Sucre would be the scent in the air. The nutty side of it is not too imposing though, as I've seen in many other perfumes with such notes. So don't be scared of it. It doesn't smell too foody or chalky - it's rather buttery. To me this is a walnut centered perfume. My view on the suggested perfumes in "reminds me of" section is that there's no resemblance with Jeaux de Peau - this one has this famous fried starch/flour note you smell in bakeries and you'll be disappointed to not find it here. Other Molinards don't resemble this one either. And Ginger Biscuit (the most upvoted so far) may indeed be close to this one, especially somewhere in the drydown, but is truly more of a ginger biscuit, while Secret Sucre has the walnut oil + brown sugar side of it but none of the spice. Autumn update: I layer this with just a spray of Bewitching Yasmine and it takes it to a whole nother level. Works well with kayali vanilla too.

I do`t get any caramelized nuts/ almonds here , quite the contrary ... On my skin Secret Sucre develops a strange medicinal note , not unpleasan t- but just weird... I think the tonka bean / talkum powder combo give this impression to my nose , otherwise i can`t explain this odd sensation ... It is very ,very unusual frag , and despite the name and description - not really sweet. I can smell salty caramel , some kind of nutty wibe ( which sort - don`t ask me...) , tons of talkum and this unholy tonka . And here ist a generous dose of tonka , believe me , don`t let the description fool you - descriptions are always incomplete , just a few keynotes ,or have you seriously supposed ,the perfumes contains just the few notes listet here in Fragrantica or in the PR descriptions ? So , here comes my synopsis - it is very good , very high quality uncommon unisex fragrance. Alluring,beguiling,very "sotto voce" , but with good longevity My advice - you just have it to test - absolutely - before buying . It is a tricky fragrance , and may behave completely different on your skin . And for try and error experiences may it be a little too pricey .

This is the perfume that convinced me to move onto niche. Elegant, refined gourmand that makes me think of gourmet desert on a cold yet sunny day. I could sense the superiority of rich oils right away compared to all mainstream designer fragrances. That being said, this is not a "grand" perfume. It is discreet and stays close to the skin. I found myself spraying more than I had hoped to get away with - just so I can get more strength and projection. This means it didn't last as much as I had hoped for. I went through the whole bottle faster than I wanted, considering I had alternated with other fragrances and did not wear it all the time. In the end, I had to admit I need to replace it with another niche if I want more projection and lasting power. Beautiful fragrance but I will not repurchase as I need something closer to a "work horse".

Warm, spun sugar...and a whole lot of benzoin! Really does smell like nougat, but the effect is somewhat distant - like the warm, sweet air in the kitchen a half hour or so after something delicious has come out of the oven or off the stove. Beast mode at first, but quickly settles in to a gentle ‘warmed up sugar cubes’ cloud that sticks close to the skin, getting warmer and more honey-ish as it develops. Long in to the dry down (8 hours +) there is a spicy earthiness that must be the tonka and nutmeg. This fragrance has monster longevity - apply in the morning and you won’t need anything else all day. This wasn’t an immediate love, but it’s been a real grower. A unique and classy gourmand that has wound its way in to my affections.

Pafrumo.net has the following note pyramid: Top Notes Nougat, Powdery notes Heart Notes Jasmine, Cashmere wood, Indian sandalwood Base Notes Caramel, Amber, Benzoin, Praliné, Tonka bean, Vanilla. This isn't nearly as sweet as I thought it would be, and it features a nicely textured base, though not like anything I can remember, perhaps somewhere between a light wood and suede. In any case, I don't get much if any cashmeran, if that's what "cashmere woods" is supposed to mean. Overall, a very nice gourmand-ish scent that is certainly unisex, considering what is listed as masculine these days!

walnut and nougat make this so unique I remember I enjoyed this a lot back in 2014 when it just launched I never owned it, just "blind" bought it recently, saying blind because I couldn't recall what it smells like, and to my knowledge this scent has been discontinued now it makes me think of Angel, not because the smell is similar, because it isn't, but because of that transformative ability of these two scents to make you recall your childhood. Or maybe because I was barely a child back in 2014? the scent is soft, powdered and gently sweet

Finally found a gourmand I love. To me, it's caramelized sugar and vanilla, underlayed with some slight spicy notes that are more prominent in the opening. Definitely sweet, but not overwhelming or cloying. Soft, sensual, very feminine. An outlier in my collection, since I usually find sweeter scents nauseating and prefer soapy/green fragrances. Lasts well but sticks pretty close to the skin, projects a bit more on warm skin. Reminds me of Jo Malone's Ginger biscuit, but softer and less sweet.

Definitely By The Fireplace has Secret Sucre vibes💫So it’s a wonderful option for BTF lovers. Everytime i spray Secret Sucre i get roasted chesnuts though the given notes don’t include and futhermore smoked woods hit my nose which makes me feel warm and cosy🔥🪵 Thus i prefer this one over all smoked woody fragrances combining with roasted nuts. I have an old bottle and not sure if it’s reformulated or not so try before you buy. Hopefully not reformulated otherwise i’llbe very disappointed.

i received a decant of secret sucré and am testing it out today. it’s been hours, and i’ve come to the conclusion i am 90% nose blind to it. what i am able to pick up, i think i like (?)... but i have to work so hard and bury my face so far in my skin to smell anything that it isn’t really worth it. it seems very no frills - mostly sweet, some vanilla, some woods - but more than anything it mostly just smells like my skin. what gives?

A pretty linear, but delicious scent. It's a powdery scent reminiscent of nougats - it has a caramellic and vanillic sweetness to it, with a generous dose of tonka beans and dusted with a hint of almond. It doesn't smell saccharine, but it's definitely very dessert-like and is somewhat powdery too, so it could get cloying in the heat. But this is absolutely for gourmand lovers!

Forget the loud, sickly sweet and agressive sugar usually burning your nose to be a beast mode, forget the candies.. This time, your silver little spoon cracks slowly the lightly caramelized surface of an airy vanilla cream. There is a hint of floral water taste too. Then an ambery feeling, and the benzoïne seriousness appears. The dessert becomes a honeyed jewel.

Secret Sucre smells like a more refined Pink Sugar minus the licorice. It's airy and lighter than PS. In the dry down a soapy vanilla starts to peak through. IMO it's closer to the PS body spray which I love and that also doesn't have licorice or benzoin. It's caramelized sugar and jasmine. Not too heady. Just right. I sometimes layer it with Girl Of Now Shine.

This is SO good! It wraps you up in a sweet, caramel-vanilla embrace that FEELS decadent... It's a gourmand, but the subtle trace of powder keeps it "perfume-ey" and beautiful. If you wanted more out of Prada candy, or pull a sour note from other caramels, or want yummy & alluring without being juvenile, RUN to buy this! LOVE.

Boy oh boy this is sweet. There's no cinnamon note here which is odd because this one smells exactly like pink sugar by aquolina with a strong cinnamon note. Wonder what that can be. I can recommend it to gourmand fans that love really sweet scents. It's just too much for me. Very juvenile.

Soapy, powdery vanilla. Has a clean and fresh quality to it. Very retro. Reminds me of something my grandma had in 70ies when I was a child. Listed notes are far more exciting than the actual scent. My husband said,: "hotel soap!", and he has a point. Not bad, but not great either.

Meh. Caramel, vanilla, almond, and powder. Reminds me of Black Flower Mexican Vanilla, another perfume that seems to get all the raves but I still have that meh feeling for.

This smelled amazing on paper but went sour on my skin. It immediately reminded me of Britney Spears Private Show, which performs better at a much cheaper price.

Oh my god!!! This is the best gourmand i’ve ever come across in my perfume life... and the performance is the BEAST MODE for me❤️❤️❤️

I like it, my nose detect a bit of honey, maybe is just the caramel. It kinda reminds me Of Tonka by Reminiscence
