Vanille Patchouli Eau de Parfum

This was my first blind buy but based on the notes it was safe to assume I'd at least like this. I was right and this is exactly what it says. Vanilla with patchouli. An amazing combination as a concept already and wonderfully executed in this. The vanilla in this is perfectly balanced and gives it a sweetness that the patchouli and sandalwood even and keep it from being a fragrance I'd classify as sweet. There's sweetness but I wouldn't call it a sweet fragrance, if that makes sense. The patchouli is hard to describe because patchouli is a new one for me. l've heard people describe it as "chocolate-y" in the reviews I read before I decided to order and I somewhat agree but to my nose there's something that also feels a little wet and earthy in the best way. All together this is slightly sweet, soft and woody, earthy and with some smokiness that I'm unsure of the origin. 100% unisex. Anyone can wear this. It goes somewhat linear and stays relatively simple but this is something I love. The opening is a little "strong" but I think it's still amazing. Personally this is a solid 9/10 for me and I'm glad I purchased this.

Christmas in a bottle just like Chazas says. I recently bought the very popular and trendy By the Fireplace by Maison Martin Margiela and the first thing that came to my mind was Vanille Patchouli. They are not the same or even very similar. They are supposed to share only the Vanilla. I have dozens of Vanilla fragrances and none reminds me of any of these. What they do have similar is the vibe and the perception that both create: Extremely cozy, either for by the fireplace, by the Christmas tree or both. By the Fireplace is smokier, not as much as Bentley Absolute which is more like campfire type of smoke but indoor fireplace. Yet I get very much the same idea at using Molinard. If you love the one, I bet you will love the other. They are both in the same league. Lovely niche unisex Fall Winter Masterpieces, Performance wise they are both very good, but Molinard lasts longer and has more projection. Apart from that Molinard will cost you half the price. I'm glad I have both.

Noticed different versions of Vanille Patchouli. Tested and seen on the internet bottles with "red color juice" which lasted incredibly well. Own and seen bottles which have almost "clear slightly pink'ish color juice" similar to Cuir or Rose, and this one with clear juice smell wonderful and identical to a red color juice bottles, but the performance is at least twice weaker, yet it still lasts very well on clothes with soft projection. It is really interesting and I think only first bottles had this red color juice same as Patchouli which lasted very well. In some reviews and presentations of Vanille Patchouli there was red and clear juice bottles, go figure. Other than that, absolutely adore Vanille Patchouli, it is so smooth, pleasant and warm, sweet and a little dusty, such a happy and cozy scent, real Christmas in a bottle. Even though the scent leans more to feminine side, it is still very unisex in my opinion and I really enjoy it as a guy, but on a girl, SUBLIME!

Smells like these little scratch n sniff things that used to be around during the Halloween season. I can't describe it any other way. I believe the scratch n sniff things were supposed to smell like a witch. I wish I could remember what the things were called. Sometimes I think there were stickers too with the same smell. This would be back in the mid-late 80s. I'm not sure I want to smell like that so I'm returning this to seller. And the village n longevity left a lot to be desired.

Sweet smelling fragrance. I liked it, not as much as Vanille Fruitee but VF is more feminine and, though it states is unisex, I'm not sure if I could pull it so this one might suit me better, the only issue against buying it is that it reminded me immediately to my Muglers, so it may be a redundant scent. It does seem to have good longevity judging by the paper strip's lingering smell. Warning: forgot to review it the same day, I think is being now like 2 weeks.
