Dark Leather Eau de Parfum

Did not expect to like this as i usually don’t enjoy leather heavy fragrances, but was pleasantly surprised how fresh the opening was with that lavender, the fragrance does have a barbershop feel to it, which i think really gives it that manly aura to it, and because the conifer accord which i also pick up i feel this is suitable year round

Beautiful this is just beautiful! There is a classy soapy aspect to it, it’s dark and bright at the same time, it’s leathery but somewhat fresh and soapy, with dark nuances. 10/10 real man type of stuff

Smells like a tailors in a damp dungeon. The dry down gives me chills. Gorgeous. 10/10.

Surprisingly, this smells exactly as the notes are listed, though the lavender and especially the geranium aren't particularly overbearing. Something like this at the bare minimum is what I expected from the likes of Tom Ford's OL/TL. The leather is actually present here, and so if you're looking for a clean leather, look no further than this. I don't get the animalic/BBQ aspects here, but just a basic, fresh, new leather. I'm being tugged towards getting a FB, but maybe I'm just not feeling it right now. Who knows, I might come back around this and reconsider if need be. Overall, a captivating fragrance with above-average performance.

The lavender and elemi are a really nice prominent combo, though I don’t think I’m generally a fan of elemi. The prominent lavender is worth it though. This is a really nice masculine scent. The leather is more of a sort of contextual scent, I don’t notice it so much. Always impressed with Molton Brown stuff, very good performance and really well put together.

too rough and animalic, so abrasive and unappealing to most

It's too dark and tarry, overwhelmingly dark, smoky and stuffy without a counterpoint. Gothic and black metal, like burning homes. Not for me. The EdT I like much better.

My boys absolutely love this perfume (and the eponymous shower gel). Although nominally unisex, Dark Leather is actually quite stereotypically masculine. The main note is, indeed, leather, which is expertly paired with, on the one hand, sweet resins, and on the other, barbershop notes. The resulting scent is very aromatic, mildly sweetish, opulent and indulgent.

'Dark Leather' has exactly the same notes (and even the same smoky grey coloured bottle cap on the EDP) as the recently discontinued 'Russian Leather' and smelled the same when i tried it, so seems to be a renaming of 'Russian Leather' (for perhaps obvious reasons) rather than a new fragrance.

If you love woody/dark/leathery/rum/tobacco/cigar fragrances like me, and Mesmerizing Oudh (EdP) is Molton's absolute best, then Dark Leather (EdP) is a very close second. For the full experience, grab the excellent shower gel as well, and apply these after using that.

What a gooood leather fragrance. It's a dark and moody smoky leather, however there is an after shave undertone to it that helps to give a freshness to help ground it. Very underrated

They say it’s a rebranding name for Russian leather only however fragrantica has dark leather and Russian leather with different notes and noses. What’s up with this?

Long lasting and elegant. It leans to the masculine side but can be worn by a woman too.
