Fiery Pink Pepper Eau de Parfum

This is a glorious enigma. I have had this for a few years and haven't reviewed it because I can't pin it down. It's kind of like a mirage or a cloud. You can see it but can't poke through to the center. Perhaps it's because I cannot yet recognize osmanthus, lily of the valley, labdanum, or oakmoss, but I can't really describe it in nouns (besides "pink pepper"). I can almost spot a tangerine rind, but I can only confidently say juicy, fresh, spicy, crisp, minty, warm, dark, aromatic, musky, and woody. I can't pull out the jasmine or patchouli and wouldn't say "floral". Sometimes it is light and transparent and sometimes is it deep and sexy. It's both naturalistic and genteel; this works on a hike and at the opera. But because I can't identify a "center," this perfume never bothers and always pleases me. I suppose it's a true chypre/cologne in that it's complex aromatic splash. This was the second perfume I ever purchased, (a miraculously lucky blind buy) so at first it felt very strong, but I think I was just a bit self-conscious about wearing perfume. In reality, it starts powerfully but the whole pyramid seems to fade into the background/become one with me rather quickly. I don't know if that's transience or anosmia. I spritz the shoulders of my clothes if I'm "going out" and that works well. You can smell it on the leather of my headphones from when I used to spray behind my ears and the way it sinks into leather is absolutely intoxicating. If someone wore this with a leather jacket, they would be invincible. It's probably squarely unisex (but it really enhances my sense of femininity). It gives me everything I need to feel genuinely confident: clean and refreshing yet mysterious and sensual.

Love it! Perfect for days when I don't want to feel "perfumed" or "dressed up". Quite animalic but not sickly, the pepper note really is fiery! All others are sort of blended in the background and hard to unpick. Definitely one that works well close to skin. Bought this in November and wore throughout the winter, and the scent felt cozy. Now decided to try it out in a July heatwave and it played out so nicely, musky notes being more prominent and overall sillage and longevity performance is better in the warm weather.

I am a crazy fan of pink pepper, so when I read the name of this scent from a brand I respect, I had to get a travel size of it. I find the opening very nice, and very heavy on the pepper note! I even had to stop smelling my arm wrists, because it made me sneeze. But I love it. That’s exactly what I wanted from the scent. The opening gave me the necessary push and slap on the face I need in the morning to start my working day. Afterwards the scent was present throughout my day, following me like a bubble. I found it to project way more than I expected. 4 sprays was too much for me. The scent evolution was nice, but a bit too general. It goes from the pepper overload to a nice floral, and then to a musky-floral situation. I used to wear a lot this floral musk combination, so it feels very familiar to me. It works well for office settings, but it’s nothing too fancy, intellectual or interesting. It’s a very familiar, comfortable floral musk with an overdose of pepper. I love the opening, but I find the dry down only ok. But my skin tends to turn everything towards the sweet side. It is possible that on someone else the cedar and patchouli would show more strongly, which unfortunately didn’t happen to me.

I'm surprised by this. In a good way! Opening is fresh and very peppery, but it doesn't last very long. What you are left with is actually a beautiful, feminine, fluffy scent that is slightly soapy. It is a lot more musky than I expected. Musk can ruin any good perfume for me, but I forgive Fiery Pepper as it's done beautifully here. I've been reaching for it a lot lately, and it's perfect for the spring weather. It really is an all-rounder scent that can be worn any time, any place. Highly recommend! Edit: I wore this to my nephews bd party and a baby boy looked afraid of me. Kids usually love me, so I turned to my sister and asked what on earth was going on. "Maybe it's your perfume!" she said, "it's very strong!". Oh dang, a perfume so monsterous it scares babies? No thanks, haven't worn it since. Not only because of the scared baby, lol, but because I grew tired of it and it quickly became annoying to me. Oh well, you win some and you lose some! I still think it's nice, but I don't reach for it and alas, it's not a keeper.

The tangerine and pepper opening is a really pleasant mix. The ginger and nutmeg are there but are quietly present. I get florals for the middle notes but they feel blended so well that I don't really smell one over the other. The base notes are all clearly present as well. This feels like a masculine scent more than a unisex one to me. The pepperyness in this feels so different than other pepper-centric scents I've smelled. Like a sweet pepperyness. I have this as a EDP but I think this would be amazing as a body wash. Overall very pleasantly surprised by this one.
