Labdanum Dusk Eau de Parfum

I love this perfume! I first got a 2 ml sample of this perfume. I tried it on, and the first sniff was like: "Okey. Different. Not bad. Don't think this will be a favourite, but not bad." After an hour or two I suddenly got whiffs of the drydown on my arm. "What is that smell?" Beautiful! Warm and rich. Very delightful! After a couple of days I did try the rest of the sample on my arm again. I tried it on a second time, and my second opinion was like: "Okey. Different. Not bad. Don't think this will be a favourite, but not bad." Then, again... after an hour or two... there it was again... That beautiful warm and rich drydown. I decided to buy a full bottle, even though it's rather expensive. I got my full bottle... sprayed it on my arm... and the procedure above was repeated. It's a beautiful drydown, and it's no wonder this perfume have a 4.45 rating.

Just got this after a blind buy and I have to admit, my initial take was that this was a little muddled and confusing. It opened with a nearly medicinal flourish, but it settled nicely fairly quickly and the base was terrific. Upon second wear it was an entirely new experience.I don't know if the first day was just off for me or what, but the opening is bright and loud and still settles beautifully. The patchouli and tonka make for something warm and delicious that lasts for hours! 6 hours after spraying (3 sprays, pulse points) it still projects widely. I don't have the cologne knowledge others here do, but I'm eagerly looking forward to someone else to write a detail review.

A robust and manly fragrance, definitely has a 1980s vibe but there is something modern in there too. Kind of reminds me of a cross between Roger & Gallet Open and TF Noir Anthracite. Has that labdanum effect where it’s crackling on your skin with cedar spikiness and a spicy amber underpinning. Good longevity and projection. The opening is not loud but after half an hour or so it really starts projecting, a sort of olfactory crescendo effect. Packaging is top notch. Price is alright but if you can find it cheap anywhere then buy it immediately.

This smells like pure luxury. I smell mostly cedar and leather with the other notes playing a part in making this smell opulant, rich and luxurious. Such a shame more people don't know about Molton Brown and this scent, this is signiture scent worthy, if I knew someone who wore this as their signiture they would be the best smelling person in the room everytime, hands down. One of my favourite scents in my collection, its so special its taken me close to a year to write a review as its hard to describe other than, pure perfection.

I was in a shop in bath England and came across their store and was curious as to their scents after seeing some ads on social media. This was my immediate favorite. It’s a very buttoned up fragrance. Reminded me of Roja apex but warmer. I really enjoy wearing this one

By far my favorite perfume. Can be worn every day, yet it never gets old. 5/5 recommend.

I like this wholesome, pseudo-posh, slightly overpriced tinker. It is a upmarket, more contemporary version of Russian Leather. Imagine the scent of a cosy log cabin, in the middle of a sprawling forest. Breathing in the air in such a place makes you feel incredibly relaxed. And that is the beautiful thing about Labdanum Dusk; it is a perfume for relaxing with. I often wear it after a rub-a-dub-dub in the water from the suspended pipe with holes in, with the perfume's counterpart body wash. Applying it after the wash with the same scent makes me want to put on a top hat and monocle, and fiddle with my tax returns so I can be richer than other people. However, the perfume is not quite as sensual as the body wash. It appears that the scent profile has been garbled up in translation. Don't get me wrong, the perfume is fucking delicious, but it doesn't quite smell the same as the body wash. The more astute perfume explorer will notice the difference. If you don't think there is a difference, you are a pleb. Also, another plus is the body wash has a sort of glitter in it, that makes you feel like even more of a rich prick. 8/10. It is good, but not as good as Russian Leather.

Got a 2ml decant because this was recommended to me - looking for something dark and strong for when I want to go out I like it but i'm not blown away. The fragrance breakdown is everything I love and I look for in theory; woods, amber, vanilla, leather, warm spicy... but there's something about it... almost sharp (?) that's throwing me off. More than anything I get a lot of smokey tobacco and leather with some woods and patchouli in the background. I'd describe it as an aromatic earthy amber rather than a sweet vanillic one. I'd say this is a fragrance is for a man that wears a tuxedo whilst traversing through a foggy and damp but lush dark green forest. In other words, I think this would be great for an older dude. Could wear it any season, but def more of a night time scent. Glad I got a decant, but I dont think I'd get a full bottle. There's just something about it that throws me off. I do like it though!

Beautiful, dark, mysterious stuff. Intense labdanum opening. Floral but broody and deep. The oudh is especially noticeable here too. Gets a lot herbier in the drydown, and more animal-leathery as it fades. Vanilla, tonka and patchouli whisper in the background the whole time. The herby-medicinal cypriol is used well here, it's subtle but adds a lot of character. I love that it's distinctly floral in nature, but in a dark, mysterious sense rather than the traditional sweet and bright sense. Maybe this flower is poisonous. This is a floral perfume for the goths. Smells like a witch's apothecary. Always conjures to my mind images of a dense forest after the rain.

This harkens back to a 70's or 80's era of men's fragrance, probably because this, to me, is so similar to Polo Green - but with a softer edge. Rather medicinal, very green, this old-school-smelling chypre isn't what I was expecting, but a welcome addition nonetheless. A rather linear fragrance in terms of its evolution, its projection, and longevity are quite good. Familiar yet unique. Edit: 3 years later...I have the same feelings about this as I did before, but maybe with some maceration the leather note is far more prominent. I would love to have a FWD button on this because the opening is too harsh, the heart is good, but the drydown is the best part.

Bought this as a blind buy. This was my first Molton Brown scent. I normally use Jo Malone only The opening is very intense, lots of Saffron, Cedar and Cypriol Once it settles down its much nicer, and the other notes come through wonderfully Its very strong to me personally, but if I wanted to wear it, id apply to my clother 1 hour before leaving and that way it would be much more balanced. Then again, I only ever wear Colognes, so this is my first EDP 9/10, and very impressed

This one has been a disappointment. I can tolerate some longevity issues to an extent, but Labdanum Dusk lasted less than an hour on my skin. One morning, I put probably 6-7 sprays on my chest and neck. Forty-five minutes later, I couldn’t detect it. I then asked my niece if she liked my cologne. She leaned in and took a couple sniffs...and literally could not smell anything either. So disappointing. I thought the scent itself was somewhat pleasant and unique, but I rarely reach for it at this point.

I loved this on a tester strip - that perfect leathery labdanum. Then I got a sample. I've given it several full wearings on skin and I'm displeased to say it smells like oriental spices on my skin. I don't get that leather. Just oriental spices. Not bad, but not great for me either.

how can the cinnamon not included in the notes ? the perfume is almost cinnamon 🐸😂
