Milk Musk Eau de Parfum

This EDP is very different from the Milk Musk EDT, but equally great. The EDT is peachy, fuzzy and a bit remiscent of Burberry Woman, the EDP is pure milky resinous bliss. It's not the most complex fragrance, but it doesn't need to be. It starts with a fresh blast of elemi. I'm usually not the biggest fan of this resin because it's not as warm and cozy as for example benzoin, but more sharp and bracing. In Milk Musk it's blended with the milk, vanilla and tonka notes and just adds a kind of woodsy, aromatic effect to them. It feels like something you would smell in a spa or sauna, but it never becomes too much due to the sweeter notes underneath it. Benzoin is noticeable in the base, too, so there is also a warmer resin to balance it out. The milk in this is prominent like it should be, and luckily it feels fresh and cool. A sprinkle of tonka bean gives the scent a powdery texture so it feels fluffy and comforting. Despite the name I don't find this particularly musky. The elemi is more present at the start and the fragrance turns warmer and sweeter on the skin, otherwise it doesn't change much. I find this really relaxing and perfect for those days where you don't want to wear a loud gourmand or oriental, but still crave something warm. I generally find milky, powdery vanillas feminine, but I think the aromatic edge might make this easier to wear for men than other scents in this family.

This is exactly what I have been looking for! Slightly powdery, milky and resinous...so comforting yet sensual at the same time. It has such a warmth to it. You will be enveloped in the most angelic scent. Initially, I was drawn to Mugler’s over the musk after reading many reviews, it seemed like the perfect musk. I had seen some reviews stating these two are similar. I went ahead and ordered samples of Molton Brown EDP and Mugler over the musk to see if there were any similarities. To my surprise, I could barely smell anything in Mugler’s and as soon as I sprayed this one I was in love! This is what I have been looking for! This is what I envisioned Over the Musk smelling like. I’m so glad I tried it, I have already ordered a full bottle! There is also an EDT version of this, but I am in awe of this EDP that I don’t feel the need to try the EDT.

This is very nice and warm ! I would say this is gender neutral 100% This, on me, is very milky, a bit spicy/black peppery, slightly musky and warm. DONT BLIND BUY! It smelled completely different on me and my friend! Smells like: Hot Milk w honey (I think it’s the vanilla or Tonka, very gentle, soft and a bit sweet) and some added spices and aromatic spice. Which gives it some character/edge. It has an underlying musk scent that is not too heavy. Like the warm milk you get just before dozing off to sleep. I if I had to put this in a category it would be: edible/lactonic/aromatic spicy/musky. Silage is not enormous but not at skin scent(on me at least). Somewhere in between, leaning towards skin scent. Might be little too deep, depending on how your skin and the EDP combine, for a day wear, IF you’re a woman. BUUUT try it out for yourself ;D

This is what I thought and hoped Milk- from Commodity would smell like (which instead came off quite harsh and synthetic to my nose). This is such a soft, slightly sweet, milky scent on a warm base of musk and vanilla (and to my nose also some woods). Very smooth and pretty and I can’t really see how it would bother anyone. It would be a beautiful signature scent and while suitable for many occasions it seems like a perfect everyday scent for the colder season. Like mentioned I do pick up on some type of wood/a small touch of pencil shavings (but without the harshness that can come with that), so I was very surprised when I saw no woody notes listed.

The first time I smelled this exact fragrance was through a sample I received with purchase. I had already used and loved the body wash and lotion. I initially found the EDP to be very similar to the body products only with a heavier lactonic milky note, which I love. I bought a bottle. Now, for some reason neither my sample or bottle smell as richly of milk. I do wish it was milkier. That said, I think this is a beautiful powdery musk that does invoke the feeling of milk and musk. I smell faint woody notes, but no pencil shavings for me. It does spread far and is a skin scent. Gorgeous.

Smooth, comforting and warm. It's a lactonic vanilla-balsamic-musk composition for the most part, giving a refined and classy appeal while at the same time being unpretentious and friendly. There is a sweet sensuality to it that presents as neither quite gourmand nor sexy; a better word would be "intimate". The sort of fragrance that evokes a rainy night in with your lover, watching films together under a cosy blanket. Warm skin, sweet hot drinks, an ambery scentled candle etc. I interpret it as leaning feminine, but I also think it would suit a lot of men too. A very nice scent indeed.

This is what I expect when I’m looking for a cozy creamy scent. It’s sweet but not synthetic, like chocolate milk. I love this as a bedtime time scent. Performance is below average, and considering the price point (and the blend) I expect better. I don’t think I see myself purchasing at full price, but it’s such a beautiful scent nevertheless that I am yet to see in other perfumes.

Incense, sweet, spicy. Reminiscent of Shalimar L'Essence, but more soft and muted. No idea where people are smelling the milk and candies. This is an incense type of perfume first and foremost, comparable to Shalimar, You Doux, Santal 33, etc. True unisex. Can be interpreted as feminine to some noses because of the sweetness, or masculine due to the incense.

Creamy white chocolate, milk, and ambery resin. It stops just short of being truly gourmand, thankfully, due to the amber and musk, but it still makes me want to drink it. Comforting and warm and wonderful. Excellent value for money. Even on a warm day it lasts around 10h on my skin, though it loses any projection by that point.

I sprayed this on before I went to the bar. Fizzy, yet creamy horchata with baby powder on the rim of the glass. Can be used for day or night. Leaning more towards night. Not summer days though. Man or woman can pull it off. Not for biker dudes. Better talk it out with the gang first. 10/10

This is gorgeous. It is so warm but not sweet . it is like a soft cashmere scarf ... reminds me a lot of Mugler over musk

Jordan almonds, pencil shavings and sweat/sour milk... I'm compelled by it but I don't think I'd want to smell like it

Smells like a hug. This perfume really mixes with your skin and smells like a comforting version of you. I love it.

This is such a comforting scent, I love to wear it for myself. Super creamy vanilla with above average performance.

Reminds me of milk bottle sweets or the milk chew toffees I used to buy from the armenian corner shop, lovely!

A true lactonic scent. A hug in a bottle. Warm and cosy. Reminiscent of white chocolate and doll heads.

Spicy and comforting. It’s a boat ride of ricocheting from a peppery spicy accord that makes you thrilled and exhilarated in its daring waters to suddenly finding yourself in the tranquility of its calmer nature of comforting creamy milk. The resinous and balsamic qualities help keep this complex. It’s not jarring though. It works. The notes skip to each others beat and then back again. It’s a harmony of contrasts that keep this interesting and not just a gourmand. It’s a spicy warm scent but it is also cooling from the balsamic elemi that helps balance out this unique fragrance. Elemi has a pine like quality to it which reminds me of how eucalyptus can be kind of medicinal/ icy. Or for want of a better word balsamic. I like the fact I don’t get anosmic to this. It has presence. A comforting but matured personality. This is a unisex fragrance and as I’m inhaling this I’m thinking this would smell great on a man.

Spiced milk and cookies with a cosy grown-up musky amber. The resins are balsamic, rich and spicy. The milk is a background for the realistic, warm vanilla. If it weren’t sweet, it would be an automatic love and signature for me, however it leans into that sexy gourmand territory which I love to smell but get overwhelmed if I smell of it. But god it’s good. Autumnal pumpkin spice goodness - don’t get me wrong, there’s no actual pumpkin smell, but that spiced vanilla... ugh it’s yummy. Yes, I do smell a similarity to Bois D’Ore by Van Cleef & Arpels (which is one of my favourites) however this leans more feminine and a touch more gourmand too. Which, as a perfume FOR me, makes me like it less than Bois D’Ore, but they are equal in their quality and performance (actually, this probably performs a bit better). If you’re a gourmand lover who loves spiced cookies and warm scarves, give it a try!

I was excited for this and wanted to like it just based on the bottle is so pretty. It does 95% remind me of Whispers in the Library, which is a good and bad thing; good because I've been wanting WITL for awhile so I can grab this instead, but bad because I really was expecting something else. Oh well! I still enjoy it. I will say this is what an edp in my head should be: a stronger version of the edt. On my skin this smells nearly the same at the EDT, but the tonka (I think that's what it is anyways) is stronger and this projects better in my opinion. So if you're looking for an actual milky perfume, I would say this probably won't be what you're looking for, but this still smells good if you like kind of woody dusty scents.

This perfume is like a softened, muted version of nearly everything I love. It carries this gentle lactonic vibe - sticky, warm, and sweet, like soft, milky fudge candies melting slowly. Yet, woven through it all is a fresh musk that gently stirs and awakens me from a sleepy haze. It feels like a cozy, half-asleep embrace in a bottle - perfect for those workdays when I need to stay sharp but crave that comforting, “homey” warmth. The price is surprisingly fair, and I reach for it throughout the year, though it somehow calls to me more in the crispness of autumn. For me, it’s an ideal blend of notes - rich and full, yet somehow leaving space for my own personality to breathe.

A very comforting scent. At the start I'm getting a minty vibe, or something like pine. After this spa-like opening the smell gets softer and deeper. Its very cosy. It is not as long lasting as I expected, it is gone after two hours. I consider it a unisex fragrance. The EdT is nice also, very different, more fruity but the EdT has unfortunately almost no lasting power on my skin.

It’s a soft vanilla fragrance with radiant tonka beans and a bit of ambery/woody combo in the base. It has a touch of balsamic notes which smell a bit metallic for my nose or maybe slightly salty (like ambergris). I own an EDT version and I must say that they are similar on the dry down but EDT is much fresher and juicier due to pear note that is super prominent in there.

This is so comforting-smells like whipped cream and kiehls original musk. Like sweet creamy vanilla baby powder. I would totally wear this on its own but I think it’s would be great for layering as well—-especially with a tea scent to make a milky tea fragrance. It lasted pretty long on me too, which is hard sometimes with creamy fragrances.

Very simple scent - milk, vanilla and musks. Nothing too exciting, nothing extraordinary, but it's so cosy and so likeable and easy. Makes me feel careless and happy. I agree with the reviewer before me - it would be very interesting on a man too.

Buy the body shop white musk, as after 20 mins it’s not so different that anybody would notice. It is nice, but seems expensive for what it is. However, I can’t smell ambroxan, so I miss whatever that smells like.

This is sooo delicious, sweet and comforting. To me, more lactonic than musky, but absolutely lovely in the cold season.

An amazing creamy, deep milk scent for men.

Disappointing. I was expecting something completely different after reading the reviews. First of all, Milk Musk is not unisex to me, it's 100 % masculine. I'm a woman and I would never wear this. And yes, I know that we all can wear whatever we want and blah blah blah, but if you (like me) are a millennial or older you know that certain scents are traditionally feminine and others are masculine because that's what we grew up with (the power of scent memory) and this fragrance smells like a man. I don't find Milk Musk to be lactonic or even cozy. It's very spicy and woody, and kinda smells "dark". I don't get vanilla specifically, it only adds a slight creaminess. I also get something in Milk Musk that's reminiscent of patchouli, which I can't stand. For some reason Milk Musk makes me think of my late grandfather. I loved him dearly, but I don't want to smell like him. I really wish that Milk Musk wasn't spicy, because I do NOT want my lactonic or musky fragrances to be spicy. Average longevity. Don't overspray! It's quite powerful and has a strong projection. Overall rating 5/10. Don't love it, don't hate it, I was just disappointed because I was expecting something much more feminine and cozy. Edit: I've worn this a few more times now, and there's definitely patchouli in here, even though it's not listed. I checked the Molton Brown website and there's no mention of patchouli there either. Why do companies do this? Do they think we can't tell? Well, guess what, we can! Especially something as strong as patchouli.

@houijda (a couple comments earlier) was right. This does smell like baking. After the first two minutes where it smells kinda "masculine" to me (hate the adjective, but for absence of a better term...), this sets and absolutely smells like baking. It's like when you mixed the dry ingredients all together and then start adding the liquid ingredients. Not in a sweet/gourmand way, but in an incredibly realistic way... This smells like dough to me, yeasty (you know the yeast you buy in bags for baking) and a bit vanillic. It wasn't what I wanted but it's not offensive. I kinda smell marzipan (Maybe combination of resins/vanilla/milk)? Such an odd scent to me, and I can't decide whether in a positive or negative way haha

Resinous and very baby powdery on me instead of milky and creamy. The baby powder gradually subsides a bit, and I'm left with vanilla Carnation Instant Breakfast. Toward the very end, I get a lovely, soft, realistic, not overly sweet vanilla, reminiscent of Eau Duelle, that I can't stop sniffing. I wish the drydown were present for more of the wear time!

To me this is very different from the listed notes and the EDT. I smell a very sharp cedar and some spicy notes in the opening. The dry down is a bit softer, cedar with vanilla. To me this isn't lactonic at all. The scent is also very weak, even weaker than the EDT version.

I feel it's a cozy and stable scent, but I feel more seasoned than pure. It's not entirely my cup of tea, but I don't think there will be too many likes and dislikes. It's popular but not common. It's soft and not as calm as ever.

Im not a fan. To me this is not milky or creamy - but sharp and powdery. Smells like ambre114 and cherry cough syrup.

To me, this smelled like an artisanal soda, but also something medicinal with it. Like if a cream soda was being made in the same room as a Chinese remedy, or perhaps a homemade root beer that has been heated up in a pot. Sorry if that sounds insane. Not exactly a gourmand because of that spicy and piney notes and surprisingly not that milky to me. Just sweet. I found this combination a bit discordant to me, but I feel like I may be in the wrong because most people have described this scent as cozy and fuzzy. Wish that were me.

Unusual combination - I get vanilla cream/ warm vanilla ice cream with a fresh box of dusty pencil shavings in the drydown, almost can taste the tip of the pencil on my tongue. Opening is quite alcohol-y and spicy but that does dissipate quickly.

Musky pimento with a dash of patchouli. Fuzzy, but not milky. Kind of an old-book type of sweet. Suprisingly, I have a dupe in my library allready: Reminiscence Patchouli Blanc. ............................... I managed to finally find it in the wild (local fragrance store), and off the nozzle, it was interesting. Spicy, fuzzy, musky, maybe could be lactonic? So as I've sprayed it on paper, it was to my suprise that I realized I know this scent allready. But what is it, what is it... I thought about the spices in Tom Ford Noir Exrtreme, and then about a similar concoction in Bentley Exotic Musk, which is a spiced latte... And then I thought about Blanche Bete, you know, that has a fairly similar fragrance pyramid, but no... this is not it. it's too spicy, not soapy enough... Is it something by Serge Lutens I am smelling here? I can see him making this musky, dusty and spicy concoction, but I don't think so... It pulls ambery, but maybe slightly more like old wax... And then, as I got home, I finally realized it. It's patchouli. Goddamnit. But not any patchouli! So don't worry, my patchouli hating friend. This is a deep, earthy bass note one, rather than the one that reminds of mildew. The specific concoction I am reffering to is Patchouli Blanc by Reminescence. A muskier, more milky version of the fabled Reminescence Patchouli from 1970. Smooth, balsamic, homely. A dead ringer. Maybe this has a little more spice in the opening, at best. Looking forward to trying this one on skin as it is very enjoyable on paper and smells slightly like an old orthodox church, while not being a too dusty. However - I must advise - if you are looking for regular milk, at least on paper, there is little, if any to be found here. Best I can offer is a musky chai. On-skin review incoming next week, maybe some lactones do come out to play by then.

Milky, warm, a little bit baby powdery? Right up my alley. I knew I had to test this and it did not disappoint. MM edp smells quite identical to d'Annam White Rice on paper, on my skin it vaguely reminded me of Arquisite The Architect's Club with the vanilla toned way down. At first spray it turns incredibly lactonic, probably one of the most realistic milk note I've ever smelled and exactly how I imagined my perfect milk scent would smell like. About 5 minutes in it transitioned into a nice woody musk scent even though there isn't any wood note listed (maybe it's the elemi?). This is when it starts to smell slightly like TAC's soapy pencil shaving scent. Then from that point on, it dries down into a beautiful musky, baby powdery, milky sweet scent. I kept asking to myself what that amazing smell was and it was MM. Silage is so strong I was using a dabber and it was enough to have a nice whiff of it every now and then. Pretty long lasting too. My only suggestion is to not overspray this, the powdery note can get really nauseating.

Just got my bottle. EDP I am very confused now. Because everybody says it is very strong but I really cannot figire it out. It is very faint. I have the same problem with the good girl perfume. Got a sample of this from the very kind sales person at Molton Brown in Copenhagen. Always a pleasure to visit them. It starts out heavy on the milk and the resin, but with time it fades to the wonderful milky vanilla and then the tonka bean and benzoin. It's a very pleasant fragrance, a bit gourmand but not quite. I could well see this as a great and unobtrusive fragrance to wear to both formal and informal events, work, etc. It's a bit on the feminine side (I'd say 55% female, 45% male) but a man could certainly pull this off with confidence. I've yet to try the Eau de Toilette, but the Eau de Parfum is certainly very, very pleasing. Sillage is good, longevity at least 5-6 hours (so far). This will be on my "to buy"-list.

It's really cozy, warm, and heavy. Definitely a skin scent, don't expect a lot of sillage from it. I find the EDT smells nicer at first, but the EDP wins on the drydown, it's a lot creamier. It smells like baking, but with wood and a bit of metal, if that makes sense. You know what your wooden spoon smells like when you're making blondies? That's what this smells like to me. It's also kind of reminiscent of what the hot cake pan smells like when you take the baked goods out of the oven. There's definitely something hot and heavy about this. Not a good summer scent, but it's really beautiful and calming.

I bought the body lotion in this scent and also a sample of the edp. The edp captures an added freshness that the lotion doesn't. This is such a comforting smell, only a scent i would be drawn to wearing at home for pure comfort. It's a milky lotion scent reminiscent of baby lotion or baby powder but a soft and more grown up version. I see this being a scent a woman who misses the days of being a mother to her young kids would wear to remind them of those beautiful years having little ones.

Nice, soft, comforting, milky, resnious but just a touch. Does have a bit of woodsyness. What I do find with these kind of scents though (milky ones) is that it just feels like the fluffed up whipped up version of what I am craving (resins, vanillas, spices) so nice as it is, it leaves me wanting. "Not recommended for biker dudes" XD AI really cracks me up. It's milky and spicy, a little woody and juuuust a smidge longer lasting than EDT version. Fairly powdery, not too sweet, but I could easily see a cinnamon in the notes or a sandalwood. Like a spicy woodsy tone. Could also be described as a custard smell. Like! Thankfully, I'm not a biker dude.

Not getting very much milk from this, sadly. It's actually got a slight spice to it. I blind bought this based on the notes, kinda disappointed that I'm not as excited about it as i thought i would be. But, it is nice and i will wear it as a easy/dumb reach because it's so just MEH inoffensive and cozy.
