Milk Musk Eau de Toilette

writing my first review ever bc this is the first scent ive ever smelled that i cannot get enough of.... i adooore going into department stores and fragrance shops to try out perfumes and edts ive seen on here and liked the looks of, but i never end up being impressed by any, and sadly a lot of perfumes nowadays just give off Generic Perfume smell, without any intelligible notes. i went into the molton brown shop after only finding out about the whole brand a day before and i tried milk musk edt on my hand and by god. unreal. i have never been so taken with a fragrance in my life. i bought it straightaway i practically ran to the checkout counter. i cannot get enough of it i have been on a high off this purchase for 50 hours im fucking floating. i went into brown thomas to smell kilian love and tom ford tobacco vanille on my wrists and they were different than i remembered and i romanticised them in my head, tom ford ended up being very true to the name, but too rich and overbearing for me to wear and very pungent, and kilian had much more depth and maturity to it than the bubblegum notes that i enjoyed so much when i first smelled it. then, in molton brown, i sprayed milk musk next to tom ford, and the new rhubarb rose edt next to kilian, and they are each similar scent families but oh my god worlds better my head is spinning. im running back to the shop soon to buy rhubarb rose i dont even like rose or rhubarb scented anything but its actually fucking unbelievable i could swim in it. and the sultry sweetness in the dry down its just so feminine and summery and the milk musk is such an intimate soft cashmeran signature scent i am in love. found my two favourite scents by millions of miles

Peaches and vanilla on a woody and creamy musk base. This is not so much milk musk as it is peach musk, but the musk does have a cool, milky facet to it. It's just not a realistic, gourmand milk scent. The woody notes are noticeable especially in the drydown, but they're light and almost papery. They give the fragrance just enough balance to not turn into a simplistic peaches and cream scent. This feels like a fluffy cloud of a fragrance that is wearable in any weather, it's warm and sweet but also fresh and clean, daytime-appropriate and easy to wear with a hint of sensuality. I agree that this is similar to Burberry Woman, like so many fragrances are. Milk Musk is softer and has a more natural smelling peach note. Another scent in this family is Ame Toscane by ID perfumes, which is more floral and powdery than the other two. Out of these three I like Milk Musk the best, in my opinion it's the most refined and well-blended of them. If you want a true in-your-face powerhouse, Burberry is the better choice though, Milk Musk is more transparent. I'm curious for the EDP, I luckily got a sample of the EDT with a skincare order and haven't seen these in store yet.

I usually can’t stand any strong scents like vanilla but I’ve been desperately looking for a mildly sweet warm milk scent and this is the closest I’ve come to it so far. A quick fruity opening that is both subtle and feminine. It drys down to an almost cold milk feeling but as a smell, it’s very much an experience that you have to go through yourself to understand. The vanilla does not smell synthetic, but realistic. My mom likens the scent to smelling an expensive vanilla cake from a Paris bakery. Personally, I still get that cold liquid feeling. It’s not the milk I want but I quite like this and I’m satisfied with it enough that I won’t be looking for any more lactonic fragrances(for now). Great sillage and longevity in my opinion. If you can’t stand gourmands but would still like something sweet for winter, this is it.

So I have been playing around with this for the last couple of weeks and it just blows me away. Is it simple? Yup. Is it incredible smelling? Yes indeed. The opening comes with a sweet tarty fruit breeze of pearish apple. I smell no milk. Shortly after it moves into a divine woody musk. The vanilla becomes more prominent as it dries down, but always recedes to the background. It is not powdery at all. Remains soft. The result is one of the most beautiful scents I have ever put my nose on. I decided to pick up the edp to check what axes get magnified or changed. It is much different. Any trace if fruity is gone. It is much more musk with a slight perhaps spiced faintness. Definitely a different beast entirely.

Very soothing scent. This is light enough that I feel it can be worn at anytime, very gentle on the skin. Smelling from the bottle the musk is apparent but blends really nicely with the other notes, not too strong with a simple presence. On the skin it gives exactly what it says "milk musk", creamy, musky, grounded, and a sweetness reminding me of a mild mocha. This seemed slightly masculine at first but as I adjusted to the musk it reminded me of a unisex Burberry Goddess minus the lavender and cut down on sweetness. This would smell heavenly on a woman and handsome on a man, Disappointed that this doesn't last very long but such a perfect skin scent I will repurchase another full bottle once out

Very comforting fragrance, very musky and has a nice enveloping vanilla/tonka scent. I get more pear than peach, but you can definitely smell them mixing perfectly with the musk and vanilla. The first spray is all about the fruity aspect of musk, which is nice. Then, in the dry down, notes of vanilla and tonka blend in perfectly and make it a very sensual fragrance. It is unisex but I would see this worn more by women than men because it has that very sensual and enveloping side. Overall, I love it and will repurchase it!

This is my go to day to day winter fragrance. It's soft and comforting with a chocolatey hint to it. It is sweet, but not sickly (I often get a headache from perfume and this one is very wearable for me!) and is a perfect out of the shower warm clean skin type fragrance. It is a little powdery, so avoid if that's not your thing but I think it balances out nicely. It does fade a little quicker than I'd like but I'd prefer that than something overwhelming.

Loving this sweet, creamy musk... the opening is my favorite with diced fruit cocktail of fresh peach and pear atop a billowing whipped cream. The opening smells what I remember Escada’s Magnetism to smell like, but less green. That soon dissipates into just sweet, milky musk - it’s really comforting and easy to wear. I just want to curl up into a warm sweater and scarf and smell this lingering aura around me. Considering a 50ml bottle.

Creamy smooth play dough but better with more of a soft woody drydown. Cream, vanilla, musk and Tonka = sheer bliss The opening does have a bright tinge of fruit but it's fleeting. It moves quickly to the equation above and stays there. This is long lasting but it had virtually no sillage after the first hour. It does get sweet and it vacillates between sweet, woods and cream. Beautifully blended easy to wear and perfectly unisex.

This is lovely, beautiful calming pure milk scent. Im going to use it for sleep but would also be good for low key fragrance days . I find milk as a note super relaxing . I got a sample of this and zoologist cow to choose between but I am loving both haha why am I like this 😅 in my defence they are quite different cow has flowery grassy elements while I find this to be pure milk . This is a love .

Milk Musk has a soft, silky, sweet cream profile that sits close to the skin. It isn't a cloying sweetness like many of the popular sugary lactonic fragrances. The gentle peach and pear notes give this fragrance a brightness that pairs well with the coziness of the musk. I can't wait to layer this with VP Chimilka or PDM Valaya, but it also stands up just fine by itself.

This is so beautiful to me. A soft, sweet, comforting bubble of loveliness. It's vanillary and fruity and comes into its own when layered with pretty much anything. This layered with lady million is my signature at the moment. My daughter complimented me on this combination! Now that's a first... I never want to be without this in my life.

My dumb reach for office scent lately. Fresh juicy pear meets powdery, musky vanilla milk scent. Cozy, playful and delicate at the same time, which makes it perfect for daily activities. Somehow performs better when sprayed on pulse points and fabric, but overall it has a great performance for an EDT as it lasts all day long on fabrics.

I love this!! Smelling straight from the bottle, it comes off as very milky and soft. On the skin it immediately has some kind of soapy smell to me, but it dries down again to milky and somewhat powdery. I unfortunately don’t get much by way of fruit, but I don’t mind. Definitely one of my top perfumes, just wish it lasted longer.

Blind bought on sale. Very tasty vanilla throughout with a bit of fruitiness to open and a bit of a dryer scent once it has evaporated a little. Reminds me a little of whispers in the library just without the slightly harsher waxy note. Big fan of this, got it at an incredibly decent price as well so very happy with my purchase.

this is So calming and delicious; i think this is what i hoped commodity's milk would be (not that i mind that milk, it's just different). it really just smells smooth and creamy and slightly sweet, but won't give me headaches. i forsee a lot of wearing this to sleep in the future.

I impulsively bought Milk Musk but I do not regret it. Such a nice creamy, milky and easy going perfume. It’s sweet and creamy but never goes into heavy suffocating direction. I think it can been worn all year around and it’s perfectly unisex. Great versatility!

This is a good conforting « Eau de toilette ». Musky nutty scent. This perfume is the only one I wear when sometime I am sick. A warm hug when you needed. « Un parfum doudou » for me. Very sad it discontinued apparently.

Scent translation of sugary taste. Classic vanilla gourmand but the musk gives it a bit of depth. I love a good sugary dry down. So this one’s near and dear. Does not assault the nose

I don't know what it is about this EDT but it's just perfect to me. It smells exactly how you'd expect it to smell from the name. It's so comforting and makes me very happy!

I reach out for this one as soon as autumn peeks from around the corner. It’s comforting, cozy, sweet, milky vanilla. Very warming and relaxed, day-to-day fragrance.

I am AMAZED! I wasn't expecting this kind of amazing smell. It is a sweet feminine lactonic musk and i have no words.

A refined, elegant version of Philosophy Fresh Cream. Does not last or project but cosy and great.

I’ve been searching for a scent like this for a while. Something comforting and relaxed but not too casual or intimate. A scent that you can dress up or down. Milk Musk will envelop you with the most soothing fuzzy musk that does in fact feel “milky”. I do not get actual milk vibes. I would say more creamy vanilla vibes but think a natural, quality vanilla pudding with the dark vanilla bean pieces still visible. Doesn’t fully go in gourmand territory, everything is very elegant and smoothly blended. The result is natural. I’m going through a stressful time in my life with a lot of uncertainty. This perfume feels like a safe haven. You don’t have to worry that people won’t like it around you or will be bothered by the scent, you won’t have to think about which occasions you should wear it, if it will become irritating or too much after a while, you don’t have to think about anything...Because “it will be alright”. That’s the feeling Milk Musk evokes. A comforting warm hug bottled up, a trusty companion by your side every step of the way preparing you for the day ahead. I didn’t have the same experience with the EDP which is way more woody (sandalwood forward) and a heavier scent. The EDT is very easy to like, well behaved and even suitable as a bedtime scent. The SA told me this has been gone from the shelves for almost a year and brought back (might get discontinued) just as the EDP. In either case, I’d say if you test it and like it, grab a bottle. Fantastic quality, cruelty/paraben free, careful ingredients and a natural, wholesome scent with good performance. A 9/10 from me. Ideal for: fall, winter and general cozy vibes Edit: I realized this is great for layering with other scents - anything that you like but feels bit harsh or doesn’t sit quite right on your skin. It makes it instantly softer, smoother and a tad sweeter.

So... In a different life (dark past) I used to work in a Spa where we used Elemis products, and I used to adore their "Nourishing Milk Bath" that you're meant to pour into your bath water, but we just patted it onto the clients' skin. Hecking overpriced to just pour it in your bath btw! A while (ages) ago I opened a thread asking if there's any perfumes similar to this Elemis product, and one of you literal angels recommended this perfume. I kind of forgot about sampling it up until recently, when another fragrantica angel sent me a sample, and within hours I ordered a full bottle. Sweet, cozy, milky, musky as it dries down. I love it. Ordered the body lotion version of it today. Also was about to order the shower gel, but gave myself a reality check (I don't mind splurging on body lotions and perfumes, but like to keep my body washes on the cheaper side as most won't last after you exit the premises anyway).

I received a tiny sample in a Molton Brown order for my mum’s birthday. I am intrigued by anything lactonic as I love the idea of trying something creamy and soft to wear but rarely do they sit well on my skin. I sprayed a few bursts of this on my wrists at bedtime and initially thought it leaned fairly masculine. But it quickly softened to a lingering musky vanilla. Like Initio’s Musk Therapy but with more sweetness and less of the clean notes. I wore it again the next night (anyone else love wearing perfume in bed?) and fell into such a lovely, relaxed sleep. After a few days of wearing, and surprisingly loving, this perfume, I ordered a bottle. I’m looking forward to long autumn evenings wrapped in a blanket, snuggled up with a tea and a good book with this delicious, comforting scent washing over me.

My go-to bedtime fragrance. So soft, sweet and cosy. Vanilla and musk is mostly what I get, and some creamy woody note but it’s only there in the background. I would never wear this out of the house, as it’s too associated with pillows and sleep for me, but I wouldn’t mind smelling this on my co-workers. Pretty intimate sillage and I think it suits the perfume, it is not one to fill a room with but rather one you sense as you lean in close to somebody. Longevity is very good, it’s still there 8 hours later.

This right here is theoretically the perfect perfume for a new mother (although better skip it entirely if you're indeed a new mom). The words soft, gentle and cozy spring to mind...The scent itself is a mix of musk, vanilla and strong peach (that miraculously doesn't smell like plastic!). It's a really chilled-out and tender perfume, the performance is very good as well. It can get boring fast, but I must say it's very nuanced and well made for what it is.

This is delicious. It's spicy, milky, and powdery. Quite lactonic and wearable. It's a touch fruity and it must be very light on ambroxan because I'm not picking up that terrible note. I loved it when I first tested it but now looking at the notes, I think the ambroxan will start to bother me over time or if I wear multiple sprays of it. This is a strong like but nfbw rn. -

This is a comforting sweet lactonic musk. Very light wearing edt, almost a skin scent which must be oversprayed. I like this after an evening bath as a cosy fragrance to wear to bed. My husband says this smells like Johnson’s baby powder. To me this is in the realm of Kayali’s Musk 12. I’d like to try the edp version of this to see if it performs better.

Unfortunately after reading a review that compares this fragrance to play-doh, I can't stop smelling play-doh in Milk Musk... However, this is still a great scent. Very plain and linear, but a delight to wear. To me this smells like a creamy, milky, vanilla sandalwood. It's extremely comforting and easy to wear.

This is a pleasant, fruity peach vanilla, but that's about it. It also smells very similar to Burberry Women, with a more dominant musk. Are we about to experience a 90s revival? Fortunately for those who like this, Burberry Women is still on sale for less than Milk Musk EDT.

Smells very similar to The Body Shop White Musk (the new vegan one). But I don’t think I can smell ambroxan, so maybe there’s some deep complexity here that I don’t get. It is one of my favourites from Molton Brown though, along with Bizarre Brandy and Muddled Plum.

it is a beautiful fragrance. It smells nice and soft, warm , and inviting. The problem is, even after 12 sprays.. the scent was gone within two hours. For the price, i expect a decent silage and longevity. If it wasn't for that... I would give it a high review.

First impressions: Is it just me or does it smell like gold by commodity, or like another vanilla designer fragrance I’ve smelled before? I shall investigate this more, and see how I’m feeling about it.

Very pretty, very gentle. Soft milky amber, with a touch of almost powdery soft flowers and an almost playdoh like vanilla. A little too quiet for me, but nice if you want a barely there skin scent

I bought this thinking it would be a milky vanilla perfume, but it’s not latonic at all. To me it smells like pear soda with a strong powdery note. Great for layering and for everyday use.

It took a while to put my finger on it but this smells just like the milk bottle sweets you get in pick and mix.

I thought Milk Musk was special for about 5 minutes and then just no – no evolution whatsoever, just a faint milky sweetness that is so boring to become irritating. I agree with those who say it reminds of spa products...that’s one of the reasons why I avoid them lol

This smells like a cozy sweater, lazy Sundays in your robe and your slippers. So comforting. It's such a lovely, creamy, lactonic musk. It's very intimate, so not much projection. I'm looking forward to wearing this in the fall and especially the winters. I hate the cold, but this will brace me.

Of the musks I've tried, Milk Musk is by far the most sugary.

Literally disappears from skin/clothes in minutes. It was a blind buy based on reviews and listed notes but the performance is extremely weak, even when paired with the lotion of the same scent. I bought mine from the UAE store so I don't know if it's a bad batch or its just actually that bad in terms of longevity. It doesn't deserve the price or a place in my collection.

This perfume on my skin is weird. Some days I like the smell and some days I don't. The other day when I put it on it smelled very musky and I kind of liked it, today it smells like flowers (there are no flowers in the notes) at first and then musky and then nothing....Suddenly the smell is back again and I don't like it and it gives me headache.....

This is grim lol. So powdery and old ladyish. Wanted a creamy milky fragrance, this smelt like a nursing home. Sorry not sorry

What a beautiful fragrance! As someone who is very sensitive to Ambroxan (love it in JHaG Not a Perfume, hate it in Not a Perfume Superdose), I’ve found that so many fragrances like Commodity Milk Expressive and Parle Moi de Parfum Milky Musk overdo the Ambroxan. If you’re in a similar boat—sensitive to Ambroxan but desperate for a milky musks—then Molton Brown’s Milk Musk EDT is for you. It’s not as lactonic as I’d hoped, but if that’s the trade-off for reasonable Ambroxan dosage, I’ll take it. As far as the notes go, it’s a lovely vanilla. I was worried with the vanilla-peach-pear notes that it might be too sweet, but it’s really not. In fact, I can barely detect those notes; this is not a fruity perfume to my nose. It’s more like all the other notes form the structure that elevates the vanilla to true beauty. This fragrance layers beautifully, too, but can also be the star of the show. It’s very subtle, so overspraying might be needed if it’s flying solo. It’s not a fragrance I can smell constantly when I’m wearing it; rather, I catch heavenly whiffs of it throughout the day. I would say it’s a pretty safe blind buy for any vanilla lover, though it is not what I would call a gourmand in any way, despite its name. I’m going to hunt down a bottle of the EDP to see if I love that one as much as this.

A pretty, feminine fragrance — soft, delicate, and quietly charming. I find myself both drawn to it and unsure at the same time. It opens with the scent of cold milk and creamy sandalwood — that signature woody-milky note that feels almost hushed. A gentle fruity musk weaves through it, rounding everything out into a well-balanced blend. Sweet, floral, fruity, and woody — just a touch of each, creating something simple yet undeniably beautiful. It wears close to the skin, an intimate veil rather than a statement. On me, it lasted about three hours. Now, why I most likely won’t be purchasing a full-size bottle: the musk. Paired with ambroxan, it gives off a damp, stale scent in the opening — like wet clothes left too long in water. It’s brief, around 10–15 minutes, but enough to bother me. That’s probably just me — musk has never been my favorite. Still, it’s a lovely scent. Feminine, inoffensive, and quietly unique. 8 out of 10.

I love sweet "milky" fragrances and this fragrance maybe works as a milky fragrance on someone else skin but on me it wasn't a milky scent. Someone descriebed it as a "white chocolate" fragrance, yes... maybe maybe I can imagine that it can be on a male skin or on a woman whos chemistry works well with ambroxan. When I first sprayed it on, I thought: yes it's sweet, it almoste felt like licorice sweet (which I like), but after a few minits the ambroxan apeard and ruind (for me) the scent. :( I think this fragrance more suitable for sweet fragrance lover male audience. I think I would love to smell this on a guy. :)

The promise of milk, musk, pear, creaminess, comfort, it was everything that I needed, it was irresistible and I had to try it, even if it meant blind buying it. It simply ticked all the boxes. The first spray, the horror....a smoky, plasticky mess, then, in the dry down, an insipid and sickly vanilla that strongly reminds me of another nauseating nemesis of mine, Angelique Noire from Guerlain. If you like smoky vanillas like Eau Duelle and Angelique Noire and want to try something that smells a lot cheaper and with added plastic, give this one a try. For me, it was a total disaster.
