Muddled Plum

Scored this for almost nothing, brand new in the box, and just tested it yesterday. It's heavy, rich, and opulent, reminds me of these juice extracts that we mixed with sparkling water back home. It smells like plums mixed with violets, booze and sugar. Even though it's marked unisex, I struggled smelling it on my husband and he struggled with it too. I think Muddled Plum is more appropriate for a woman due to the heavy opulence it exudes. It's easier to accept such a perfumey cloud emanating from a woman than from a really masculine man, which is why I struggle with this being marketed as unisex. Very unique and heavy; I agree with the rest of the reviews - not recommended to be worn in extreme heat. I think it will be amazing come wintertime.

Opens with a blast of jammy plum, fizzy orange and elegant saffron. The booziness takes over in a modern, stylish way and the green notes from the davana are an inspired addition. The fragance is more on the level of Angel's Share, rather than Jazz Club for instance. Muddled Plum is an unfairly overlooked gem and compares well to any niche boozy fragrance. Fantastic.

Very similar to Plum Japonaise, but a little fruitier and less heavy. I find PJ to be a bit cloying, especially when using more than two sprays. This is a warm, boozy fragrance. The plum is very prominent, more so that PJ. The dry down is fantastic with the saffron and sandalwood coming out. Great cozy date scent. I believe this is discontinued unfortunately.

Gorgeous! I bought the cream and fragrance. I love the plummy smell and definitely a winter one for me. Reminiscent of Pomegranate Noir but much more wearable in my opinion. Warm, spicey, addictive and wearable. Any of you who dislike, I'll gladly take it off your hands!

This is full wearing of Molton Brown Muddled Plum, a 2018 release (the house’s winter release that year, I believe) that I blind bought recently since it was heavily on sale, I love plum fragrances, and it has a very good reputation. It’s definitely a very agreeable plum fragrance—I get plum, resins, and woods, mostly, quite sweet with floral and almost boozy touches (perhaps via the resins) yet fairly balanced if not dazzling. It’s a mostly- gourmand, I’d say, with some vaguely spicy touches in the background to complement the resinous side, overall hinting a sort of plum pudding with caramel side but still landing closer to a mainstream perfume than a full-on gourmand usually would, so it achieves a nice middle ground in that respect. Its regular pricing is $120 for 100ml in EDT concentration but is currently on sale for $72, as there is currently a large sale throughout the site that happened around the same time a year ago, I believe, and it seems to be only sold through the Molton Brown website. At its price, I consider it a successful blind buy, particularly for the price, even if it’s not among the best plum fragrances that I’ve tried. 7 out of 10

207 Such a lovely plum scent... Alas, the strength and longevity are shitz! Why would anyone want to wear anything this weak Molton Brown? I sprayed 20 times on my top and it went POOF in 10 minutes... Are there any scents out there that smell like a perfect plum but are much much stronger? I overpaid for this in my learning days and regret having it...but it’s hard to find beyond England. Are all Molton Brown like this, because based on the poor performance of this fragrance, I would never consider this brand again. 8/10-best plum 0/10-worst performance, what’s the point? Would not repurchase.

This is such a great boozy sweet plum scent, and I haven't got or smelt another scent like it. For me this is definitely a late autumn/winter scent because I think the sweetness could be cloying when it's warmer. Also, maybe it's just me, but I associate this fragrance composition with the Christmas season! I think this leans more feminine than unisex because it is pretty sweet, but obviously anyone can wear anything they like! I do think it's overpriced though - it's pretty linear and longevity is just disappointing (approx 1-2 hours). I'd consider buying it on sale though.

I love the shower gel, and that's why I bought this online. It is a shallow, weak, watery imposter of the shower gel. What a disappointment for $50. I literally sprayed about one fifth of a bottle on myself in my hair my skin my clothing and left for a party 20 minutes later. No one could smell it on me. They said it was very faint like a body lotion. Shame on you Molton Brown. Where are the days of your nice strong fragrances like oudh Accord and gold. It;s mainly plum, benzoin, sandalwood and musk but weak and watery.

Combined notes of orange, saffron and oak-aged Rum with the sweetness of Sussex Victoria plums and Sandalwood accords. It reminds me of walking through a Christmas market on a cold day with whiffs of warm spiciness in the air. I find this fragrance mild, airy and agreeable, with delicate projection. A lovely fragrance, but sadly does not last long on me, although longevity can be increased to around 5 hours if layered over the matching body wash and lotion.

Very fruity and quite sweet, like cooked plums rather than fresh ones (not tart at all). A bit warm and very slightly spicy, a touch of rum. It’s thin and feels weak if you’re expecting spice. However for the soft plum scent it is, it is relatively strong and fairly long lasting on me for an edt Edit: I do spray my clothes too which helps fragrances last. This is fab layered on top of a sandalwood that you want to make a bit sweeter.

This is nice, but not amazing. Up top there's a really nice bright plum smell. However, projection and longevity was pretty weak for what I was expecting. I don't get much of the booze and I feel like theres not enough anchoring it down. Is it like plum japonais? No. It's nice! It's one you'd have to spray quite a few times to get a good wearing out of it.

Of the body lotion: a boozy and jammy plum. It’s like an opened jar of plum jam sitting next to a glass of warm rum, with a stick of cinnamon dipped in.

I just snapped up a bottle for $39 at a Saks discount chain. Someone sneakily taped up the cellophane after using a bit and returning the perfume. No matter- I just find that amusing. I’m glad I didn’t buy it off the website even at 30% off it’s still not really worth more that what I paid max. Ok so I get a very waxy lipstick/cosmetics opening- then it’s a sweet stewed plum situation and now is in the woody dry down. It’s fine. Extremely light. No I do not have or had Covid. I’m always suspicious of reviews wailing about no longevity these days- but for realz- this is done in about an hour. Very faint skin scent. It’s nice! It’s kind of whatever. Like- I wouldn’t kick it out of bed- lolz- that’s my fave take on basic perfumes because I’m a jerkface. 😎

It is an overpriced perfume which I dislike because it virtually lasts for 30 minutes max. In my opinion it is an absolute waste of money. It was a blind buy and after this purchase I just stopped buying any Molton Brown products. I can definitely hear rum in this fragrance and it reminds me Christmas pudding where rum or brandy is added. I do not recommend this fragrance as it is just an absolute waste of money as you buy something which will never last and where it does last you will smell like a pudding. It becomes better if you leave it somewhere for a couple of years but it still doesn't last I am afraid. Somehow I associate it with having sex with no reaching climax.

This smells like a christmas berry candle

Smells like concentrated fruit cordial. Actually, no, my first thought was that it "smells like Ribena!" but it's been long enough since I've drank any that I can't verify that impulse comparison. Still, it was where my mind first landed! Sweet rich fruit syrup with an underlying base of resin/something dark. Still has that Molton Brown 'lightness' but it's one of the 'heavier' fragrances in their line-up - I wouldn't wear this in summer.

This was a blind buy for me. I definitely smell the plum, rum and saffron in this one. While I am not a massive fan of plums as a scent, the rum is absolutely fabulous in this one and works really well with the plum. It is definitely festive, perfect for the colder days. It is on the sweet side, but not overwhelmingly so. It is a lovely, warm, with a bit of zing (rum and maybe orange) that are a nice and fun combination for winter.

In love this the rum note is true and sweet but layered very well with the resins and sandalwood. Quite hard to pinpoint what I like so much but I am enjoying it! A sugar plum fairy for sure.
