Rosa Absolute Eau de Parfum

A lovely rose perfume that is neither jammy nor akin to an isolated bunch of fresh cut roses, but rather presents as a walk in a red rose garden due to its green backdrop. The geranium in this is soft and fresh, I can also pick out the coffee but it isn't very strong - it smells what I imagine green un-roasted coffee beans smell like! The rose in this is very assertive and lasts long after the other notes fall away. Such a shame they discontinued it, I'm yet to find anything like it. Suitable for all seasons but I think this perfume really shines in during Spring and fresh summer days. Suitable for both day and night. Molton Brown is cruelty free brand.

I've only had one signature scent but due to the version I like being discontinued I started my search for a new signature scent. I bought this one blindly and the perfume is gorgeous. The rose, alluring powder, and slight spice is captivating. You spray it and the room will continue to smell like this fragrance after you leave. I was sad to find out this perfume has also been discontinued. The one good news is I was able to get a couple bottles before they sold out. This perfume is my substitute signature scent. Always gets compliments 😍

My smoky rose perfume. A perfect dry grown up rose, with patchouli, a jammy note, a green note, some sandalwoody woodiness which is probably the coffee, and a dark red rose. I get loads of comments on this one mainly from women. Its a masculine rose which is why I like it so much. Managed to purchase about 4 half full bottles from Ebay as it was discontinued. (why?)

I have thankfully got three bottles of this as they discontinued it. A dry cool rose, not a jammy rose with the green notes of patchouli and labdnanum on the dry down. I can't smell coffee. I love this as do my female friends, but husband not so much. So this one is for me. the EDP is much softer.

I really like this. To me this feels like a modern jammy rose, with a bit of spiceyness. I get good performance and sillage from this one too, this is one of the standouts from the line.

Patchouli and Rose absolute oil with a hint of musk in the drydown. This smells very, very similar to Frederic Malles’s Portrait of a Lady, although this does last a bit longer on my skin. Pretty much a dupe for the smell though. Also very similar to Cabaret by Gres (I have a vintage bottle) but without the touch of powdery iris that’s in Cabaret. Its nice, but is basically just a strong patchouli Rose. Get it if you want a cheaper and longer lasting version of POAL.

I have so many little 5ml samples of this so even though it’s discontinued I don’t think I will run out for ages. I do like it but I don’t find myself reaching for it that often. I personally cannot smell any note in this other than pure rose! This isn’t a downside for me because I love rose but it might not be for everybody. As with all Molton Brown - the longevity is great. You really don’t need more than a couple of sprays to smell like this all day.

This was a blind buy from TJmaxx. This fragrance can be compared to Nina Ricci L'Extase and/or L'Extase Rose Absolue. This is sweet, citrus, rose, the patchouli is light, don't really smell the coffee overall this fragrance is well blended. Definitely unisex, if worn by a man, he has to be a mature man. 8/10

I have POAL and sadly it goes nowhere on me, I have a fantastic time from first spray and for a few minutes after, but then it is gone, which is such a shame as it's a beautiful harmony of everything I love in a fragrance. Anyway, what a pleasant surprise, Rosa Absolute EDP is not dissimilar to POAL in it's dry down at all! So different from the initial spray which is really just cloying Rose, not good; however, give it a moment and there you are, lovely Rose/Geranium/Patch - quite lovely. I cannot complain for the price I paid, blind buy on a discount site. Unlikely to repurchase at this point but will definitely enjoy this bottle for what it is, a respectful POAL dupe with a little more staying power. The bottle is super heavy, very clean design and looks great on the shelf, superb quality. Definitely tweaks my interest for the other MB EDP's.

Am a huge fan of rose, with TF NdN and Malle's POAL being in my top 10 perfumes of all time, so when I was recommend Rosa Absolute I was slightly hesitant as to would it be a redundant purchase that merely gathers dust when in such celebrated company? Well, my first MB perfume does not disappoint at all. Yes, it is similar to POAL in the drydown, but it has the most delightful coffee accord up top, which puts the over all composition in to being somewhat of a mash up of TF Cafe Rose and a newer bottle of POAL (My vintage POAL is way headier and resinous and no where near as green as MBRA) Anyhoo, for POAL and/or general rose fans I'd say this is a very decent addition to a collection and would sit nicely alongside more esteemed fragrances that carry a higher per ml cost. Is it a POAL clone? Not really, as the opening is very different, but they are pretty similar in the dry down, so this could well be a nice alternative if POAL is out of reach

This is a beautiful, seriously warm (not spicy, just warm) jammy rose scent. Nobody can dislike it. It's got 0% powdery grandma quality to it, in fact very modern. Guarantee you they're using Damask Rose, as this smells exactly like the Syrian Rose Jam I grew up eating. Disagreed with the Portrait Of A Lady similarities, I find this is doing its own thing entirely even though they're both rose-dominant.

Lovely perfume , i would say totally unisex , starts with coffee ends better and last longer than portait of a lady .
