Rose Dunes

Oh, my, goodness. So I have been avoiding roses recently as the market feels so saturated and no new renditions have captured my attention, but this had been on my list and today I took the risk. Thank heavens I did. I sprayed it on a paper swab, as I already had fragrance on my wrist, but I was wholly mesmerised by this. It opens with a little citrus and a subtle oud which grounds it without being heavy (I don't tend to enjoy a strong oud), but seconds later, you find yourself enveloped in roses and velvet and soft florals, literally as if you are standing in a room where the flowers and fabric are wrapping around you. Rosey and powdery, sumptuous and comforting. I utterly loved it

Really really lovely scent! I get a rose/ strawberry yoghurt kind of scent, with a soft incense/leather dry down; I know a few of those notes aren't mentioned above, but its what I smell. I don't get the spiciness others mention really at all, to me its very smooth & creamy. Love love love.

What I got from my blind testing: saffron and light peppery notes. Very beautiful rose: not too sweet, not too dark. Amazing woody base that brings slightly smoky dimension to this scent. Overall, it’s a great and well-balanced rose frag. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Just got it in the Molton Brown advent calendar and it absolutely blew my mind, and I’m not a rose fan at all! I hate almost all rose fragrances because they’re too stuffy for me, but somehow this one really charms me. I definitely want a full bottle now.

Love to wear this one during the colder seasons, and rhubarb and rose in the spring/summer. If you like this but would prefer something slightly more feminine I recommend you try rhubarb and rose or Kayali sweet diamond pink pepper

Amazing value. The note table says it all. Slightly jammy sweet rose with not over the top oud bodying it out but letting it stay a little light and fresh. Amazing performance!

As a man, i love this. It is a jammy rose, and definitely leans feminine, but i just think this smells incredible, and intoxicating

For some weird reason, this works wonders on me in the summertime. The scent really comes alive on my skin, with its jammy, earthy, sweet rosey vibes. I was afraid it was too feminine (although I don't mind wearing "female" fragrances) with all its sweetness, and in the wintertime I feel its a bit too one dimensional on me, but in the heat of summer, boy, oh, boy! I love it and my girlfriend goes absolutely crazy for it!

A nice, spicy, fruity rose, more on the oriental side with light oud and leather background. The longevity and projection is good.

I get mostly oud, leafs and smoke? I layer this with Pivoine suzhou from Armani Prive for a more feminine scent.

Fruity and juicy scent with a strong sillage. It works really well with my skin chemistry, but sadly I’m not too fond of heavy and sweet fragrances. Even after half a day, I can smell it and get a whiff of Rose Dunes, which is impressive. If you’re looking for a juicy rose scent which will stay for hours and hours, this is probably a good choice. For me, it’s too heavy and personally, I’m always worried of offending others with my perfume choice, but if you like to leave a trail of scent, this works. Edit: I ended up purchasing a small decant (7.5 ml) for the upcoming autumn season. The beginning is lovely, but towards the end it develops into a screechy, perfume-y scent which I don’t like.

Rose is a very difficult note for me, but I received this in a travel set. The patchouli helps ground it for me personally, but as expected: this is all about rose. Even if this is not my cup of tea, it is very well composed and beautiful. Extremely well balanced, very potent and long lasting. The rose note nauseates me, but I would enjoy it on someone else

The opening is amazing I was gonna buy it till I realised the base notes are not nice, the base does not carry that sexy rose that you think it initially is.

Oh no, this is not good at all, atl least on my skin. The drydown is too grandma-ish - I blame leather and vetiver. I purchased Molton Brown's shower gel first with a sample of Rose Dunes eau de toilette and the scent is great as I thought it would be, the EDT is a little bit too light and doesn't last long but has nice musky drydown.. This, on the other hand, opens with some fruity-jammy-something that is not even close to body wash's fragrance that is rosy, dusky, sensual. This is for men or women who can wear leather. That being said, at least it smells because MB's Rose Dunes body lotion smells like... well, body lotion but definitely not rose, let alone dunes.

More wearable now in fall/winter months. Still don't like the opening. I wear EdT even now because it's closer to the opulent MB shower gel. Their lotions help to prolong the fragrance.

This is the most foul-smelling fragrance I've encountered since the 1970s. It is not in the slightest bit feminine. It smells like an old man's cheap aftershave. I was gifted a shower gel of Rose Dunes. I normally enjoy Molton Brown fragrances. After showering I had to immediately jump back in to try to wash this vile stink off of me. My bathroom smelled for hours. So, it lasts anyway. No rose note whatsoever. The smell is like opening one of the bottles of perfume that have sat on Granny's dresser for decades. I'm going to be nice and assume it doesn't work with my body chemistry.

I’ve been fortunate enough to sample this in store and sprayed my clothing liberally with it, the jacket I wore that day I put back into my wardrobe and my fragrance that filled that space was divine. I’ve used Rose Dunes shower gel and body lotion since Christmas time and I am totally smitten—I think I need a bottle of the EDP. It’s a very unique rose fragrance, it’s a jammy rose but has this powdery like quality—it’s multidimensional and impeccably blended. Pairs beautifully with an amber oil such as Kuumba Made Amber Paste as this lends a syrupy resinous facet which goes really well with the rose, oud and sandalwood. The patchouli makes this feel a little hippie and incense like as it meddles with the woods. It’s beautiful and captivating. Criminally underrated and not talked about at all in the fragrance community unlike Milk Musk.

I enjoy the opening because although it is a deep, rich rose it has a freshness about that is enjoyable, but as it dried down that freshness goes and is replaced by a powderyness that makes it very stuffy and quite headache inducing.

Stunning. I absolutely love it. It is intriguing. I can not understand it fully. Dark juicy rose. Love it. Great job Molton Brown.

This reminds me a lot of Cairo and Constantinople by Penhaligon’s !
