Tobacco Absolute

The best tobacco fragrance I’ve ever smelled besides Tobacco Oud. That one is a spring tobacco scent for me, and this... I would wear this on the hottest days of summer, in a black t-shirt, wearing sunglasses, smoking a cigarette while I’m driving fast on empty roads with all of the windows down, listening to Ride by Lana del Rey. Projection and longevity could be a little bit better though. This is a skin scent on me.

There is no list of tobacco that I can put together where this is NOT on it. You ever smelled Lipton black tea with orange pekoe? The one you see in all the supermarkets, in the yellow box? This smells like the aroma of that with a heavy dose of tobacco absolute and a pinch of nutmeg. This is simple and beautiful. Perfect for fall, but really seasonally versatile. Really good stuff!

I’ve had this since last fall and hadn’t worn it for a while. It didn’t strike me as a great summer choice. I was wrong! It’s lovely and sweet and when I went to the dentist today the hygienist complimented me. Unfortunately I was having molds of my teeth made so I just made an awkward noise. Nice to be complimented 😊

The opening gives off a woody tobacco blast and in the dry down the tobacco is more sweeter and musky. Sillage soft but longevity only 4 hours. Can be worn in every season and wearable in office.

I don't know if i cared to much of the topnotes of this one, but the drydown was amazing.

I see comparison of the with Eau de Baux and I get that, but it smells closer to L'Occitane's L'Occitan to me due to it's heavy use of peppery notes but could be said to be a mix of them, especially in the opening. I own all 3 of these. It is distinct from those in the dry down and keeps it's citrus notes better than those two do I presume with the elemi resin and then continues to go into tobacco and wood territory as time goes on. Because of these bright citrus notes it is its own unique take on woody-spicy and I could see someone pulling for this more than either of the L'Occitans even though I do like those two and seems to outlast them. That said for a similar cost Molinard's Cuir does all of these notes in a better, smoother and more interesting blend so I would aim to get that instead (and Figue which is also superb).

Another one from this house in which I love the shower gel and am disappointed with the EDT. Looks like I will stick to shower gels when it comes to Molton Brown for now. Like with the citrus in Bushukan, the tobacco here is wrapped on perhaps too much wood, especially too much cedar. It probably helps with longevity but I end up getting too little of what I hoped would be the central note. It's a nice woody fragrance but I hoped for a more intense Tobacco experience.

I really like this despite the longevity being poor on my skin. It smells like a very high end hotel lobby or bathroom to me and reminds me of a spring day in Mayfair. It's a very friendly, warm, cozy scent with a really lovely peppery freshness to it too. It's not smokey tobacco, but a much warmer, dried tobacco leaf note which comes through - like smelling a fresh raisin-y pouch of tobacco.

sexy, smooth, slightly sweet tobacco, with lots of cedar. I love cedar and there are no harsh annoying notes here, no bitterness.. no musk.. so I think women could wear this too.. although its def more masculine. I love that this has leather in it too.. adds a muskiness that stays cool

Very warm, spicy frag, which reminds me of Old Bay Seasoning. It finishes clean so I'm not walking around dusted up like a fresh crab waiting to be picked apart but to suggest this is a tobacco scent is a wee bit off the mark. Woody, spicy and clean finish.

This was a real let down. this could have been a new clean and fresh take on tobacco, rather than the rugged musky element it's usually know for. I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what, but the longevity and silage are nonexistent. the opening is fresh and resin, juicy and incensy. bergamont, grapefruit, cedar and elemi. I waited for the tobacco to kick in for the dry down and got nothing, it was like the whole scent just evaporated as it dried. I can't say anything about the dry down notes because there aren't any. I must have done about 10 sprays, on my clothes, my skin, my hair, and it just vanished immediately. I'm usually very sensitive to smells. I wore it for a short evening out, maybe 3 hours later after getting home I thought maybe I'd just become blind to it. so I showered, and went back to see if I could smell it on my clothes, and got nothing. there's no excuse for this kind of poor performance for a product of this price. it had so much potential. it smells pretty nice for the 15 minutes it does last at least!

The opening hits with a pleasant burst of what smells like cardamom to me, but it soon dies down into a generic decorative soap smell and stays like that. It's definitely fresh and clean, but there's not much actual tobacco to speak of. I was expecting something very different based on others' reviews.

If you like The One by D&G you will likely enjoy this as well, they are different but have that combination of simple, kind of fresh with some woody tobacco like elements. Similarly longevity isn’t the greatest. It’s inoffensive but a bit meh.

One of the most disappointing items in my collection. For some reason its longevity is extremely short, this scent doesn't last on me at all. That's a shame because it's a good, honest tobacco which should appeal to the masses. I will say though that the shower gel is quite wonderful. Seriously good stuff. But the EDT? Well, I'm reapplying after 30mins. You can't expect a hard working gentleman to shell out his hard-earned dough for this.

No tobacco. This is a light, lemony-elemi "soapy" cologne style scent. Do not like it. Smells like cheap shower gels and hotel hand lotions, clean of course, and boring. And not a whiff of tobacco. This is a sub-par summer Aqua Allegoria-style fragrance for men although ultimately unisex. Better in hot weather rather than cold, with poor silage and longevity.

I bought this as a blind buy but I really can't get on with it. It's got powerful synthetic menthol or minty hit upront which I can't get past. Its got a very sweet note through it. I also can't find the tobacco note. Possibly my least favourite in my collection.

Absolutely no tobacco in this “Tobacco Absolute.” If any, it’s absorbed by the toxic levels of elemi contained herein.

Was just in a Nieman Marcus in Walnut Creek, Ca. And noticed these while walking by. They may have re-formulated or just re-designed the bottles because they now have a much cleaner and more elegant look (at least IMO). A clean cylindrical bottle half thick kind of ombre glass on the bottom and the top half is a brushed metal with a brushed metal ball cap. I smelled this, Ruasian Leather, and the coastal Cypress with something else... I have never actually smelled these fragrances before, but I reeeeally like this one. I had Aramis Tobacco Reserve briefly on a blind buy and returned it due to longevity issues. This one reminds me of that but without the overly sweet and synthetic kind of "thin" smell that the Aramis had and this one with seemingly MUCH BETTER quality ingredients. This is one of the nicer and "softer" tobacco fragrances I have ever smelled to be honest. To me this is kind of the most unisex smelling tobacco dominant fragrance I have ever smelled and can see this working for anybody really. It has a VERY nice slightly dry, slightly sweet cinnamon note that kind of ties the tobacco to the cedar wood, nutmeg, and touch of leather VEEEERY nicely. I sprayed just 1 spray on my wrist about 2 hours ago and it seems like it has a pretty average sillage so far although at arms length I have been getting some very nice wafts hitting my nose since. Smells like it MAY fade in the next 2 hours or so although I could be wrong. I will update if anything changes though. Happy sniffing !! All in all, for this price point I would say this and the Russian Leather they also make, are VERY GOOD and comparable if not better (in longevity, sillage, and just basic "smelling good") to many of the niche fragrances I have smelled over the years. I would highly recommend anyone who hasn't at least given these a chance to stop and sniff them when they see them, they are definitely worth it.

Tobacco Absolute is essentially a sweet spicy/woodsy scent in the style of Spicebomb. It opens with a quite typical fresh accord. Crisp bergamot, slightly sweet grapefruit and a hint of elemi. Really nothing too spectacular. Fortunately this accord quickly subsides and lets the heart notes reveal themselves. The heart is a superb blend of woods and a touch of nutmeg. The woods are mainly rosewood and an overload of mahogany. Mahogany is a note you rarely see used in perfumery, but damn did Molton Brown do an excellent job with this. The mahogany and rosewood smell quite natural, and are very complex and multifaceted. The base is a great way to tie the fragrance together. There is a bit of sweet leather, hints of sweet cinnamon and vanilla, and of course a fantastic pipe tobacco note. Whilst it's certainly similar to Spicebomb, it's also quite unique compared to it. Basically their comparison boils down to a similarity of genre and execution. Spicebomb is a sweet tobacco scent with an overload of spices and cinnamon. Tobacco Absolute is a bit more subdued and understated, accomplishing a similar idea with mahogany, rosewood and hints of spices. Tobacco Absolute is certainly worth a try. At first sniff, you'll probably not think it's all that unique. But give it some time and properly experience how the mahogany and rosewood interplay with the tobacco and leather. It's quite a worthwhile experience. Longevity is very good - 8-9 hours. Rating: 8.5/10

I bought a bottle of tobacco absolute edt 50ml from ebay, but its shape does not look like the presentation on the website, it has that metal collar and ball lid/cap. I was surprised by the fact that the juice has no color, as if it were water. Can you confirm that it is colorless? I gave about 2 sprays on my wrist and I'm surprised again... the smell is weak. Is it fake...?! Edit: after 30 minutes the smell is gone, I don't feel anything anymore. However, I have checked the batch code and it appears to be made in August 2020.

It's okay, I definitely get the hit of lemon/spice in the opening To me it has this trademark Molton Brown smell that I'm not necessarily a huge fan of. It's okay for an EDT I found at the bottom of a drawer, and I'll wear it when I don't feel like anything else.

Smells so good ! Saw this product at the Duty Free in London, I was tempted to buy but at first I bought the shower gel which smells amazing too. A week later I decided to buy the fragrance, this is my summer scent, I am in love with it.

I have a bottle now. The opening is horrible, a synthetic mess of "something" (the fresh / citrus notes, I presume?) but the drydown is much more akin to the woody tobacco shower gel (which is excellent). Sillage is non-existent.

It smells very masculine. Spicy and clean. I wear it on my hands because it makes me feel like I've just washed my hands at a hotel bathroom and dried it with a towel, that clean/sharp feeling.It elevates my mood.

This fragrance very quality but why name is Tobacco Absolute? too much woody and spices NOT TOBACCO. 6-7 spray, longevity 6/10, Sillage 6/10

Old furniture woody with gloomy tobacco. Nothing special. I expected more.
