Semper Augustus

I don’t agree with previous reviews. To me this fragrance is unique. It truly captures the fresh and airy essence of a tulip. It’s magical and beautifully constructed. I love tulips and this for me is the only fragrance on the market that captures the essence of a bouquet or field of tulips. The price point nevertheless is just appalling, it’s just too high for what you get no matter how beautiful it is. I managed to get a bottle at a great price and so I bought it but I would never buy it at ordinary price. For me fragrances should not be this expensive and non accessible to enthusiasts but as a fragrance it is a masterpiece in my opinion and I own quite a few of Mona di Orios original fragrances.

Mona Di Orio goes mainstream...scented body lotion boring and uninteresting to die for, to the point of wondering if there really was any perfumer behind this Alinea collection But calling that a luxurious collection with better ingredients than the original compositions from Mona is just a sad commercial joke.

I understand wanting to capture the subtle and understated green scent of Dutch tulips. Catching the green of the stems and leaves and the satiny shine and vibrant colors of the actual flower. In my opinion however this fragrance is a bit too commercial and predictable. I would even say, and this is not very nice of me, that it’s like a sunlotion or a mainstream handcream. Apologies to those who have worked hard to create this.

It smells like a generic bar of soap. I love soapy scents and will enjoy wearing my sample but would never buy a bottle. Moving on!
