La Cordée

This cypress is magical! This is absolutely exquisite! I have never tried any perfumes from this house before but now I know that they have some great offerings I will explore more. This one will put Moncler on the perfume map for certain. Such a superbly smooth and beautifully blended perfume. I get a smooth woody bergamot blended effortlessly with the cypress and black tea. It’s so smooth and silky. I detect some iris as well as sandalwood with a little geranium though not listed in the notes. It’s smooth slightly warm, sensual and perfectly balanced like you are on a stroll through the countryside somewhere in the hills. There is a slight sweetness like vanilla In between but it’s not gourmand nor sweet enough to even be considered sweet. Full bottle worthy for sure! I was given a sample to take away by the lovely sales associate and I did a wear test and I’m saying 100% yes to a full bottle. 11/10 it projects about 6 feet or more so be careful with the sprayer and it lasts all day as I wore it to work a few times. It’s highly sophisticated smelling yet sensual and alluring at the same time I got so many compliments. This is what citrus should be like.

I'm just leaving a second review because apparently people do little research outside reading one comment. This fragrance DOES NOT smell like Wulong Cha in the slightest. This is not nearly as rounded out. This is bright, bitingly zesty with little but subtle depth. Some fragrances list 4 notes but smell like 10. This lists 4 and smells like 4 high quality notes blended in an artful fashion. I feel the need to say that because this fragrance was everything I wanted it to be when I first acquired it, in large part because my expectations weren't ruined by "this smells like this". Going down the list (of what I've smelled): this does not smell like Imagination but hits a similar ballpark this does not smell like Castley, different ballparks in the same city this does not smell like Wulong Cha this does not smell like Tygar, maybe if Imagination and Tygar had a simplistic baby this does not smell like Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, totally different this does not smell like Un Jardin anything None of these hit the nose-tickling effervescence that this does, nor are they as simple outside of maybe Tygar. None of them have that sensual honeyed musky dry down.

My skin gets great longevity, okay sillage. Projects strong for 1-2 hours, projects softly for 2-7, then goes skin scent at around 8 hours. This is only if I overspray though, maybe 7-8 sprays. The perfect everyday wear in my opinion. The right balance of unique and mass appealing. Won't feel like you're ruining the specialness of the scent by wearing it everyday. Definitely gives me Redwoods vibes (forest near the ocean). Definitely going to be a great everyday wear, inoffensive, enough sweet body to carry it, but nice aromatic clean effect. I think the execution is a clean shower gel effect. Definitely more juicy/fruity/sweet freshness than I expected especially in the opening. Would love a bit more of a piney smell. Dries down to more of a powdery clean tea (Earl Grey, not Lipton). Would definitely say well above average performer for a freshie. Great for all seasons As per an earlier comment, I don't think this smells similar to Imagination, but both definitely have a shower gel-like tea effect. It doesn't smell like Encre Noir. Off the bottle, I get a bit of the dirtier vetiver, but not on skin.

The composition of La Cordée is simple yet distinctive — the kind of scent you remember after just one sniff. Citrus, cypress, and geranium create a tea accord that’s completely different from the usual citrus–jasmine pairing. It smells like tea leaves still green on the treetops, wrapped in the morning mountain mist. In the dry-down, besides a pleasant white musk, it also uses cashmeran and Ambroxan. It’s a refreshing combination. The last time I smelled cashmeran used in the base of a tea fragrance was Ormonde Jayne’s Gold Leaf. Cashmeran brings out that sensation of tea leaves blooming in hot water — rising steam with a hint of astringency. The only downside is its short longevity. After about three to four hours it becomes quite close to the skin. Still, its scent and uniqueness are absolutely worthy of the price.

Great scent. It opens with citrus and has a distinct cypress note. There is a soft floral notes as it dries down. Has good projection and longevity on my skin (8+hours). Very pleasant, smooth, and has a simplicity to it, and I mean that in the best way possible. I think it is very versatile, office, date, formal or casual. Has a calming effect. Great for spring summer and fall, but I wouldn't mind rocking this in winter either.

La Cordée is really, really good. It smells like it has been described below. A great spring/summer fresh tea citrus. I just wanted to add another thumbs up on this fragrance. This entire line is excellent. I have smelled all of the currently available fragrances and I have purchased four different bottles I like the line so much. This is a safe blind buy, in my opinion. 8.5/10 and a Fragrantica score 4.3 from me.

Great clean citrusy scent with a hint of sweetness especially towards the dry down. Very well balanced, good for every day to day wear. One thing I will say and something I haven’t heard anyone mention is its huge similarity to BVLGARI Tygar. Especially in the dry down. Am I crazy or does anyone else think they smell similar?? DNA is for sure similar.

Received a sample from the sales rep at Bloomie's. She knew I would like it and I say ...she was so smart. This is a gorgeous sophisticated unisex scent. It gives you the sense of walking along a path fresh with powdery snow, a cool green scented breeze, blue sky, puffy white clouds.

Perfectly done, well balanced citrus fragrance. It's pleasant and inoffensive, perfect for South Florida's hot and humid weather. Usually citrus fragrances don't last on my skin, but with La Cordee surprisingly I get a good 4-5 hours. This fragrance is in my top 3.

Much better version and waaay cheaper of Nishane Wulong Cha. Great performance overall for fresh and bright fragrance. For all occassions. I got mine for 80 eur for 200ml bottle at discounters. Easy blind buy 10/10

Very clean, very classy. great daily driver. I blind bought this and I was very pleasantly surprised by how simple and clean this smells. very inoffensive 9/10.

It's like i am shampooing my hair with palmolive shampoo. Refreshing. 8.5/10.

Got a 200ml tester bottle for half the price of a 100ml retail bottle (batch code dates it as an August 2023 bottle). Very lucky to grab it at that price as there was only one. Everything I said in the review below this one still stands from when I first sampled it; smells fantastic, isn't long lasting or present enough, not worth retail price etc. etc., but at the price I paid, I had to have it. After a full day's wearing on a crisp winter day, I'll say this - when I was outside in the cold I couldn't really detect it, but as soon as I stepped indoors or was in a warmer/heated environment, it started to sing. Good but not great scent bubble and sillage when I was moving, at least in the first couple of hours of wearing it. This is very much a fragrance that comes alive with heat and in the atmosphere, and falls flat in the cold or on clothes. The hoodie I sprayed this on yesterday barely smells like it. You have to get up close to smell it. So it doesn't even stick to clothing better than it sticks to skin. That probably means this is an exclusively spring/summer fragrance and MIGHT perform better and hopefully "last" longer in the heat. We'll see when the weather warms up. For now, it's a 6-ish hour fragrance that has an hour or two of presence and then very quickly becomes an intimate one, and a fragrance that you probably need to overspray (8-10 sprays is what I gave it, maybe even a few more than that). Fortunately, because of the scent profile, overspraying doesn't make it cloying.

This smells fantastic. Unfortunately, at retail price, it is INCREDIBLY overpriced. WAY overpriced. If it lasted 6-8 hours and projected nicely and left a lingering sillage for its first few hours, then yes - pay retail. But for a moderate projector and a moderate lasting fragrance, it is too expensive for what it offers. But simply on the way it smells - it is not unique or something you won't recognise - but it does indeed small incredibly good. Very likeable, pleasing for the wearer and overall just a 9/10, if not a 10/10 in this category of green/citric fragrances. A freshie with depth and class.

i am in my clean era and wanted to smell fresh and classy. I find that male perfumes tend to give off a much fresh scent so since this is marketed as unisex, i took a gamble. It opens crisp and clean, like you just took a shower out in an open meadow, the cypress smells wonderful! Then comes the bergamot! As i was driving and my ac was blasting, the scents filled my car and it was a lovely drive to work. After a few hours i could still smell myself (which rarely happens), i loved it. However the scent does tend to be more masculine, which i dont mind but others might.

I will echo the guy below me. Scent wise, very nice & reminds me greatly of John Varvatos fragrances like Artisan Pure but unfortunately, the performance also reminds me of that line! This performs about the same as Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton except, where this one smells nice, the LV smells mesmerizing. I did get a bit better performance when I sprayed this about 15 times & i did find it an enjoyable wear but would I buy it? Probably not, but I would say, test it out yourself, maybe you will get better mileage!

One of the good ones from this line It fresh a little aromatic and soothing from the tea Airy in its nature but not weak enough to dismiss Having the 200ml in an office working environment Seems a like a good idea and the beautiful bottle adds elegance to the overall imagery Yes it’s a little pricey for what you get but it’s safe and maintains a little complexity throughout its life I enjoyed wearing it and it lifted my hopes to try the rest of the line

8.5/10 Really nice, to me it's quite green. It's very reminiscent of mirto di panarea by ADP, although it smells slightly more designer and sharpish than that scent. This also has a prominent tea note which is quite unique. It's right In the middle between synthetic and natural smelling. It is pretty linear, but it smells good so that's not really an issue.

Simple and classy citrus aromatic scent. The central bergamot note is surrounded initially with notes of geranium, tea and cypress and dries off to a synthetic musk. The masculine leaning scent has moderate projection and good longevity. It is well blended and comforting and makes for a good easy reach daily wear type of scent. Enjoy!

I am usually cautious about blind buying perfumes, but i read the notes on fragrantica and took a leap of faith. When it arrived I was amazed by it fresh classy sophisticated but not over powering. With many cypress perfumes the cypress note tends to overpower the other notes. But with this it complements the other notes smoothly.

just bought a bottle of this 200 ml smells really good has a strong opening of lemon tea and woodiness with a twist of fresh aquatic notes just doesn't last long.willing to trade if anyone wants it

Nice but not very creative and overpriced. Sharp and fresh scent, not overbearing, but not for the faint of noses. The opening is a zesty citrus, very heavy on the bergamot, almost lemony. The citrus gradually keeps mellowing out, giving way to the cypress. I see why it's described as the mountain tops, because it paints an image of a strong pine forest in the alps. (Not a literal one. A very "commercial perfume" one, this is by no means a niche fragrance literal forest with moss and rain). After a few hours it becomes slightly less zesty and a little more leafy. The floral even starts to come through, though geranium is by no means a sweet floral, and it keeps up with the freshness while softening it a tiny bit. If you're someone on a budget or collecting perfumes looking for something special, this isn't it. It's not super creative and I can't say I'm wowed, but it's nice and if it's what you're looking for and you have the money it's a good pick. I'd wear this for coffee or skiing with office/ivory tower friends.

I agree with @TheBrownNose. This doesnt have longevity. Its very airy and light. Gone in less than an hour even on clothes.

I am NOT one to ever complain about performance. I own many fragrances that last 2-3 hours and I am more than happy to reapply if I feel the need. However... I’ve been testing the hell out of this for weeks, spraying on skin, clothes everything and I cannot detect this after 30 minutes. Idk what’s going on, maybe it’s a bad sample :( Smells amazing nonetheless. Very refreshing/calming scent. Beautiful citrus/cypress/tea combo. Not that much similar to B22 to my nose but I can understand the comparison. EDIT: I heavily over sprayed as a result of poor longevity and the cypress became very unpleasant to my nose. This is a pass for me :(

Ordered a 10ml sample due to comment below comparing it to Wulong Cha which I really like. Well, it is cheaper. That’s where the advantages of La Cordee end. It lacks complexity, lacks freshness and lacks fruitiness if you gonna compare it to Wulong. And the performance is quite poor. And even don’t get me started comparing it Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir which is listed in similar perfumes. I would describe this perfume as pleasant green water.

Imagination?? What are you guys tripping on... This is citrus, lots of cypress with a bit of tea. It's very simplistic, basically the opening of Encre Noir without the vetiver. While Encre Noir smells like ball pen ink in the opening this one will keep you smelling like your college notes all the way through. It’s good for what it is, classy, with moderate to strong performance.

Strong opening, a citrus lemon , but it smooths out into some flower and then moves to something good I can't describe, but what I always wanted on my skin, like this the second-day after scent. This perfume is something I often come back to. For its dry down.

Very very realistic citrus. It does have some LV Imagination quality to it with the bergamot and tea but more realistic. Pretty nice. 8/10

Important to keep in mind that it is the REMINDS ME OF section.. not the this smells like section. Totally different
