Moncler Sunrise pour Homme

#1371 in my "Tour de Fragrance" No surprise that I love this scent. Antoine Maisondieu is the nose behind three dozen scents I appreciate, the most widely familiar being Armani Code and flankers. This scent is brightly citric and spicy and perfect for summer. Lasts longer than most freshies (we can all agree that even the best are mediocre performers). I applied this at 5:30AM, did a four mile walk. It's now 12:47 and still a strong skin scent. So for a citric aromatic that's as good as you reasonably expect. I'm kinda surprised I'm the only one picking up on the similarity to Creed "Viking Cologne." It is one of Creed's less popular offerings in the age of amber/vanillic scents. They're damn near identical in scent, at least to my nose (the Creed does have have a hint of orange peel this lacks), and this is less than 24% the price of the Creed "Viking Cologne', which this will replace on my shelf from this day forward. (BTW I also have Loewe "Cobalt 7" which I haven't worn once since the day I bought it. That touch of limonene in the Cobalt is not coming across as citrusy as this Moncler). If you appreciate citrus aromatics as much as I do, like Dior "Eau Sauvage", Acqua di Parma "Colonia", MiN New York "Memento", you're gonna like if not love this juice. Definitely a fit for suit and tie business wear, formal wear, but you can go casual with this as well. If I still spent my days in boardrooms, it would be a toss-up as to whether I'd be wearing this or Dior "Eau Sauvage Parfum." It's a love and successful blind buy for me!

When you hear "dumb reach," you think the same thing we all do: Boring. If you've got any sizeable frag collection, you're certainly not trying to pad your ranks with more dumb reaches, right? I don't want to oversell this, because it's definitely not going to blow your mind, but fellas, it's such a pleasant wear. Mass-appealing this fragrance is, and that very much includes appealing to the wearer. This thing has the Goldilocks amounts of sweetness, cleanliness, masculinity, mass-appeal, and performance. For me, the sage and suede are bright with no small amount of depth, held aloft by a clean vetiver beneath it all. Inoffensive and versatile, it's got just enough heft and freshness to be wearable year round, but I find it leans toward spring/fall. As for performance, many fragrances underperform on my skin, sometimes in drastic ways. Not so here. This stuff powers clean through a workday and beyond, but maintains a sensible projection and sillage, making this a stellar choice for office wear. And man, does this stick on places that aren't skin! After a wearing, I get whiffs of this from my worn shirts in the laundry, from my car seat headrest, hell even from the head cushion of my couch. A dumb reach for ~$70USD might not seem appealing, but this fragrance repays in kind.

Very close to Loewe Cobolt 7, about 95-98%. Loewe Cobolt 7 is a lot stronger than this. If you sample this and want a bottle but arent happy with the performance, wait for a deal on the Loewe Cobolt 7. This is selling for around $65 to $79 at discounters. If you get the Loewe for $100-$110, it's a win. Make sure you get Cobolt and not the regular 7. It's in the vein of Ex nihilo speed legends and Loewe Cobolt 7, smells great. What makes this different is the suede note, which gives it a smooth out subtle suede nuance. The Ex Nihilo is miles ahead of both, but is also costs about 3 to 4 times Sunrise. There is nothing wrong with this fragrance. The blend is great, and for a designer, the materials smell great. If you're looking for something for work or places where fragrance needs to be calm, this is perfect (or just minimize the sprays of Cobolt). I think if you were looking at something like Prada Luna Rossa EDT, this would be a great option to switch it up. This does the same thing with a different profile and about the same or slightly better performance. This might be even more mass appealing, but the suede note was pretty pronounced on my shirt as opposed to my skin, where it just blended so well.

I just got this from a discounter at an absurdly low price (they probably made a mistake there - 100ml for 50$) Smelling it for the first time and I am just amazed this is not being hyped up at all, maybe the distribution is still weak and not enough people had a chance to try it out. The smell is really unique for a designer house. I guess it might be a little bit polarizing, but it sure smells high quality and I love it. The sage is really dominant almost from the start mixed with the citruses and it takes you on this photo realistic journey - imagine you in hiking in the mountains in spring, there is this cooling/cold wind so you can smell all the herbs and trees around in the air, but it's sunny enough so that the warmth radiates smells from your clothes and from ground on the trail (earthy smell from the vetiver and the patchouli accords). Not sure what the performance will be, but the sillage to my nose is moderate after the fist 30 minutes. All in all I am extremely happy with this blind buy. Can't wait to see how it does over time and with more wearing.

This is a versatile fragrance, well suited for daily use in any setting. Office, venue, school, even gym with a light finger should not be a problem. Best suited for spring and autumn, but should not be a mismatch for summer or winter. It is mostly fresh but also a bit sweet, though not sugar type but a diet type sweetness. Like how I imagine asparthame would smell if it did, far from cloying. Scent diffuses from skin, it seems as if it lingers a bit above it, very diffusive but still not overly so, perfect sillage for me. The scent is cohesive but not linear. The sage connects a familiar citrusy, spicy blue opening, suede dominant middle phase and a great drydown which I associate with the ambroxan Aventus DNA. Perfect for smaller collections, it covers so much ground. May be redundant for a true collector though, as you will find similarities to most crowd pleasing scents from last decade. In my opinion the suede elevates this and makes it its own thing and a staple in my collection.

Moncler Sunrise Pour Homme Here is the truth about this fragrance. It's light, it's airy, and it's versatile. Moncler Sunise is the definition of a signature scent in a bottle. If you just look at the note breakdown you probably wouldn't get Adventus or BDC in this and let me be up front Sunrise does not smell anything like those in my opinion but you can definitely get those vibes. For this being a light airy fragrance the performance is solid. Like 8-9 Hours solid. Now here’s where things could be a little lackluster. The projection is about average. But if you're just looking for a all around solid signature scent worthy fragrance I personally think this is one of the best options for your money. The quality is there. It is more mature. So for those of us pushing upwards of 40 this is right up our alley. If you like this DNA of course. But any age can rock this if you want. If you happen to give this one a smell you might find yourself getting a backup. Enjoy

I’m giving you guys an updated review after owning the gift set that comes with a 100ml bottle, 7.5ml travel spray, and body wash. I bought 3 gift sets for cheap. Now here is where things get weird. The travel sprays smell nothing like the bottles. They all say “Moncler sunrise pour homme” on them. The travel spray has this watered down soapy smell with an off putting dry down. The actual 100ml bottle smells fantastic. It has this clean masculine smell to it with light projection which is perfect for work or daily wear. If you got a sample or a travel spray before the bottle I highly suggest you just buy the bottle and compare them both because they DO NOT smell anything alike which is a let down cause now I have to sell the travel sprayers. I don’t know why this is the case but I hope this helps for anyone who just sampled this.

Whenever I had an interview or business meeting where I want to smell good but not overbearing or screaming "Smell me", I seem to keep reaching for this over many other fragrances in my collection. It is definitely signature worthy daily driver. Keep an eye out for it on discounters as can be found for €50 for 100ml. This competes with the likes of Blue de Chanel in terms of Swiss Army Knife fragrances. Any to be fair Chanel is not timeless, it's dated and overpriced at this stage as so many competitors doing it as well for way less. This is it is own thing but think a musky mix or Dior Sauvange and Blue de Chanel or something along those lines that is not shouting but subtle. This is growing on me the more I reach for it and I reach for it a lot for office type scenarios.

Never really had a signature scent, but that changed when I got this one. Blind bought it, and it was so good I got a backup bottle. Perfectly blended fragrance for any weather, any season, any ocasion. Not similar to Dior Sauvage at all, I can't stand that one but enjoy this soo much. Also, it's similar to Loewe 7 Cobalt due to sage and subtle smokiness, but IMO this one is a bit more mature and darker. I sold Loewe as it's redundant to have both. Longevity is great, but it doesn't project much which is not a deal breaker in my case. The fragrance also reactivates after a shower leaving a subtle skin scent that is to die for.

Got this not too long ago and it wasn't what i was expecting , could be seen as a generic smelling fragrance but the dry down takes it somewhere you don't really expect . It has a more fresh and aromatic start but drys into an earthier and more comforting scent i guess . For me it lasts a long time , at its peak lasting 22 hours on skin after a shower . Great price for the amount , i find it's still pricey for a first fragrance but will be more cost effective than many other designer fragrances , so far haven't had any issues with it and it is loved by many people around me .

This is a lovely modern scent that you can wear for almost any season during day time. It is close to a number of things out there, Loewe 7 Cobalt, Absolu Aventus, Dior Homme 2020, but doesn't copy any of them. In terms of performance it is not a beast, but it lasts a nice 7-8 hours with moderate projection, and this makes it a perfect office wear as well. As the name implies, this is a daytime fragrance and it is perfect for that, I don't see myself wearing it for an evening event, even in summer. The statement you're making with this one is "I am clean"

Really liked this straight away. Masculine citrus, woods and spice off the top. No real sweetness. Not really getting all the Sauvage references except for the fact that this, like Sauvage, is a do-it-all kind of scent. I can understand the votes for Loewe 7 Cobalt, but the incense vibe is much stronger on that one. Projects well for an hour or so and then gets closer. Longevity is at least average or better. Good dumb reach or signature scent for any age. Versatile in the way BdC or Dior Homme 2020 are versatile.

Blind buy with this one - classy looking bottle , great atomiser , great masculine scent. I do see the similarities between Savage but I feel this is very much more subtle and sweeter (which I like better) than Savage- no overkill spray with this one. It reminds me of Gucci Pour homme but with a stronger projection and that sweeter dry down. It’s a daytime /office safe fragrance that just smells expensive and well put together. I will delve more into this brands scents after this. A great little find .

Picked this up in March this year looking for something great smelling and new for Spring/ Summer 2024. This fragrance has become my daily go-to and is a wonderful signature scent that can be worn for work, casually at the weekend or equally on date-night. Smelling something like Allure Homme Sport in comparison and this just blows that away, modern, woody, masculine and gorgeously blended. I was not a fan of the first Moncler release for men but this one is spot on.

Great scent. Very manly, fresh and mature scent. I see it being good for use for a date night as well as for office and daily-use. This is the first fragrance I thought I would write a review about since it seems like it's a niche fragrance yet it's coming from a designer house. I'm surprised more people don't talk about it and it flies under the radar. Great longevity, good projection. Makes you feel powerful and comes at a good price as well.

Awesome. Anyone who dislikes this needs to have a serious conversation with themselves. This takes the best parts of Bleu de Chanel, Aventus and Savage and combines it all and pumps it up to the max. Seriously if you only want one Fragrance to wear pick this. Only thing beating this scent is going to cost hundreds of $/€ so why bother!

Had to scoop up many bottles of this before they either discontinue or up the price when and if this picks up traction from people. Great scent. Very soapy on initial spray and then dries down into your typical blue scent. For the price it’s at I honestly don’t think any other blue scent beats it based off value for money.

Smells like a mix of dior homme parfum/intense, aventus absolu, bleu de chanel edt and a far more natural dior sauvage. boooom then u have this beautiful creation with a lackluster performance and projection... but it still smells great! don't be afraid to overspray and this can be worn anytime, anywhere anyday.

Not crazy about the performance, but scent is pretty amazing. $58 Canadian at shoppers drug mart right now on clearance, definitely worth the price. Especially during 20x pc points events. Fragrance is a much less offensive version of if sauvage, ysl y, and Prada Luna rossa carbon were all grouped together 8/10

Loving this and my go to now for compliments ☺️ was actually thrown a little bit when was caught off guard filling up at the petrol pumps, goes to pay and the lady was like woah you smell good and initially I'd forgot but then told, and since then I've had many! Will definitely buy another when it's gone 5+

This perfume is the perfect masculine gym fragrance, it smells fresh and clean with some spiciness. I've never heard anyone else in real life talk about this fragrance so can easily be a signiture scent. Its mass appealing and very versatile. On me it has a black pepper scent to it.

As someone in their review said, it is like a sibling of Loewe 7 Cobalt but with less punch, maybe much less I would say. Very quickly it becomes a skin scent with almost no sillage at all, however the drydown is very very beautiful, and just a bit different from Cobalt.

The warmer the weather, the better this fragrance will perform also get some air in that bottle. After about 20 -30 sprays , it’s going to soar ... still not that unique but its smells good / very pleasant for a fresh man.

If you like aromatic woody perfumes just go ahead and pick it up, wore it to the gym and then went to work, I could smell it even after I showered legit 12 to 13 hours later, absolutely recommend it

I love it. Very nice and mass appealing scent without being generic or boring. Could be a signature scent if wanted. Well blended. Aromatic, spicy and citrus dominant scent.

And this happen when an amazing perfume is not Over-hyped by YouTubers. U and I enjoy it without smelling like everyone else.

Sleeper of a fragrance. Beautifully generic. Basic masterpiece. "Standard Men's Fragrance: Deluxe Edition" When I first sampled it I was hugely underwhelmed. I tracked down a sample and was expecting something different. But it wasn't different. It just smelled like what you'd expect a men's daily driver to smell like. And then one night before bed, I spritzed the sample around my neck and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed wearing it. It's one of those where most people will find themselves liking it, but not needing it. Chances are, if you're on Fragrantica reading this, you already have a few fragrances. Sample it. Chances are, you'll like, but have a debate about whether you *need* it (spoiler: you don't, haha). But if you happen to be reading this and you're at the beginning of your "fragrance journey" (ugh), and you don't have any or many fragrances, then I'd recommend this. A very good, reliable, legitimately 4-weather, day and night, anytime, anywhere fragrance for any guy 20 and up. Spray it on, and nobody will say anything but you know you smell good and appropriate for most situations you'll find yourself in. Moderate both in terms of longevity and projection/sillage. From what I can see searching online, pops up on discounters at times and is reduced in price on several websites (at least in the UK), so it's actually not a bad buy.

If it's blue, one thing I assume is that I will see bunch of unnecessary comments saying it has best part of this n that. I don't get anything of it. There's sweet citrus n nutmeg but doesn't smell like bdc, there's spiciness but doesn't smell like sauvage, Sage n aromatics but no Y at all. It made me so damn confused n didn't really help because it smells completely different than what I guessed believing comments. I have smelled Loewe 7 Cobalt but that's more potent n niche, maybe some hints because of similar composition but Moncler is smooth at it's best. It's so well blended that it's quite hard to point out notes. This is an excellent fragrance for work n casual settinng that I kind of gatekeep. The only drawback is that it's quite flat and intimate. But believe me, this is very very handsome within it's bubble.

As all very generic scents, it is very inoffensite, safe blind buy and suitable for any occasion. What is less common, it is also absolutely suitable for any time of the year. From summer days to winter nights, with exception of most hot and humid days. All you have to do is to adjust number of sprays. It also not becoming offensive if overspayed. So when I'm saying about adjusting sprays, I'm talking about minimum nessasary, not maximum allowed, as it could be with many other frags (including generic inoffensive ones, suddenly becoming obnoxiously offensive if overdone). 8-9 hours of longevity I'm having off my skin, with 4-5 hours of them being with moderate projection and sillage is pretty good for it's price range.

The only thing that this and loewe 7 cobalt share is the dry down. Sunrise is smoother during the opening and heart which makes this more mass appealing and an easy dumb reach while loewe 7 cobalt is kinda harsh and has some sort of incense undertone to my nose. Unfortunately the longevity on my skin is not that great, but thats fine for someone like me who likes to wear/try out a different fragrance after work. I would say it lasted about 6 hours on my skin, after that mark i was barely catching any whiffs of it. Scent wise this is really damn good, but if you're someone that prioritizes "beast mode" fragrances, then this probably isnt for you.

I really like the scent profile- it's like a blue leather (suede) fragrance. However, the performance is heavily lacking to the point of it being frustrating. I only get about 4-5 hours and it is a skin scent throughout what is essentially the entire wearing experience. Not to mention that this is supposed to be an EDP, so you wouldn't expect that. Also, the bottle feels like cheap plastic. If the fragrance was a little higher quality in terms of that and the performance, it would be a true banger.

I am not that worried about how many perfumers worked on this, to my nose its a great fragrance, not too dissimilar to original 2010 EDT Bleu D Chanel but after about 30 mins it settles down into a sublime dry down, very sensual with some woody notes but there is something else going which makes this a unique fragrance. Getting a solid 7-8 hrs decent projection. For £105 per 100ml it's reasonable too.

I dont know whats going on with this one, its sooo weak, to the point where i wonder if i have a dud. You can barely detect there is even a smell on this one unless you really overspray it, and it still lasts about 10 mins. Its a shame because it really does smell very nice when oversprayed.

After opening the bottle I found the smell completely uninteresting, after half a year of maceration on the shelf this is an unobtrusive everyday fragrance at an affordable price.

A more greener more unique sauvage leaning scent that is versatile, and can be worn either day or night. Overall a refined scent that is mature and elegant for 25+. 9/10

wa wa wee wa! a classic manly yet fresh smelling current release which is no way any near to the uninspiring sweet mess trend? 9/10

Very masculine fragrance. At first I was iffy about it but the more I wore it the more liked it very professional fragrance.

Not Sauvage at all. Kind of generic. Smells like American Crew hair gel or something.

It's not a bad fragrance. It reminds me of one of the YSL Y fragrances . Eau de Parfum maybe, but one of them. It's a dark fresh spice scent . The dry down with the frankincense is what reminds me the most of Y . The big downfall of this is the performance. It sucks !! On clothes it disappears in like 4 hours maybe 4 1/2 , that's with 3 sprays . Directly on a sweater. On skin it projects for about 45 minutes then becomes a very close skin scent after about 2 hours. It's gone in like 3. I used an 0.1oz sample I made throughout the day, 12 hours. Using coworkers to see if they could smell it in case my nose shut down. By the end of the day I used almost 2/3 of it just to somewhat smell. The following day my clothes had 0 hint of it. If this were like $40 then maybe it would be ok but anything fiber that I would not pay for this . Sucks because it's not a bad fragrance. I will give this a 4/10 . Performance doomed it and the scent itself was nothing too different.

Another generic modern freshie. Fresh, a bit spicey/herby and boosted by dark ambery undertones like every other freshie from the last 15-20 years. Wouldn't pay more than 20€/100mL for it. Just buy something from Zara if you like this. Or better, go for the original Acqua di Gio. By the way, the score of 4.30 is insane. I hope it's recency bias. This deserves 3.90 max. Yeah, that's exactly my problem with it ;).

I would describe it as a very 'airy' sage based fougere. To me it smells like ironing or dry cleaning starch, with a bit of a cotton like vibe. It is lineair, with hardly any silage. It sits long and faint to the skin. Loewe 7 Cobalt is its sibling with more punch. Legend Red by Montblanc shares similar but more synthetic dna with a less pronounced sage making it less soft, black current giving it more body and blood orange making it a tiny bit more crisp. Wondering if I'll ever end the decants of any of these.

I hate don't love this one as much as I like the OG. Unfortunately, it is so generic / whatever that for me, it is close to being a loss, at least forgettable.

Smells good but is weak. Super weak. Will it get stronger? Because if not, I will breeze through this bottle due to over spraying which is needed.

It took FOUR perfumers to create yet another blue cologne. I heard Sebastian Jara saying "...often, when many perfumers collaborate, the result isn't good..." and this is the case. A forgettable blue cologne.

I quite like Antoine Maisondieu's output over the years, and this is another decent offering, though I'm definitely not as "blown away" by this (to quote some reviews) as many of the comments here. I'm not saying this smells identical to any of these, but it definitely lives in that same "world" as your Sauvage, BDC, and Dior Homme type of family of male frags, ie it's a bit basic and generic. That's honestly not a slight; there's a place for these male deodorant-type fragrances, but a "hidden gem" this is not. Not being pretentious, just being completely honest. As one of the reviews says below, this is something you'd wear to the gym or just casually. The other guy below who says this smells identical to Creed Viking Cologne is off his rocker, one of the strangest comparisons between fragrances I've ever read on here. This smells nothing like Viking. Loewe 7 Cobalt, on the other hand, I can kind of see more so in the drydown, but the Loewe is much more interesting to my nose with its incense/smoke, and the better choice between the two for my personal tastes. I would 100% wear this; it's a decent fragrance, but it's redundant if you have a large collection, i.e., I just don't know when I would ever need to wear something like this. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none type of deal... Glad I sampled and didn't blind buy a full bottle. I low-key think it's actually a little overpriced at its retail pricing for what it offers, would definitely only buy this discounted. 7/10

Nice frangrance. To me, it smells like Missoni pour homme mixed with Prada L'Homme. Edit 01/18/25 : All of the above still stands. I just wanted to add that. I wore it today out of the shower, and my wife buried her nose in my neck and said, "Umm, which one is that today? It smells great!" So why am I writing this today? It is because yesterday I wore Outlands by Amouage and even sat through multiple episodes of Stranger Things with her at my side, and she said nothing. The day before that I wore Layton, and she said nothing. The day before that I wore Oud Maracuja, and she said nothing. The day before that I wore Le Male Elixir, and she loved it. Combined between testers and full bottles, I have well over 100 fragrances, and out of all of those, it's always the clean and fresh-smelling ones that tend to get the most compliments. It seems like a lot of the exotic and darker fragrances are really more for enthusiasts than the masses. I guess that if you want to stand out for the right or wrong reason, wearing one of those oddball ones will get you there, but if you just want to smell clean and fresh for yourself and others, then the traditional-smelling freshies like this one are all you really need.

Very quick note ladies and gents. This is, without a doubt a freshie, I feel like it has a medicinal benefit as it relaxes me but also gives a relaxed energy. It is not strong, you need to spray 6-8 good sprays to know it. It has lively nature, lovely citrus and vetiver smells. It does remind me, somewhat of acqua di Gio Profumo parfum but less strong and we know the former is no beast. One I’d certainly recommend but for your own use as I like to use fragrance for myself at home. I have had zero comments when wearing this but I like it and that is how I do things. Overall a nicely made fragrance that has a lovely opening but does back, quickly. Hey, I am not a young man so don’t take my word, each of us has our own tastes. This could well be up your street. I do not see this as a blue frag. It;s fruity and fresh
