Cowboy

The most photorealistic smell of cigarette smoke I have ever sampled. Starts off smelling like a pure ashtray, but it blends this seemingly off putting smell incredibly well with this gorgeous undercurrent of dirt and hay that becomes more apparent on the skin within a couple hours. Give it some time to sit in your collection if the initial smell puts you off - by no means this is an approachable scent, but it grows on you very fast. While I'd say it's still a unisex perfume, to me it undeniably evokes an image of the coolest guy you know smoking a cigarette laying in an open field under the stars. Favorite summer scent.

I am obsessed with this perfume! Smells exactly how I imagined it, the description really does it justice "Here the spirit of the Cowboy is represented as The Fool in this unisex fragrance. He is free, naive, and fearless. You can find him sleeping peacefully under the stars." I have a preference for masculine leaning unisex perfumes. I have been wearing this for myself near-daily in lockdown, it just makes me happy when I smell it on myself throughout the day!

Absolutely magnificent scent. This perfume begins as very green and floral grass, quickly becomes a more rich & woody soil. On my skin, I can smell this dry down through the day to very subtle hints of fresh tobacco mixed with a very strong, warm vanilla. A beautiful multidimensional perfume. Very bright & great for spring.

To me, this smells so incredibly fresh and warm, like sun on freshly dried sweetgrass. It was my go-to scent for years, I hope the formula hasn't changed as it was wonderful.

I'm always trying to smell like vitamin rich soil to attract anemic men with vitamin deficiencies so this does the trick for me, super androgynous too which I love.

No grass for me, all dirt. Very strong, sillage is crazy.

Really refreshing opening into a rugged and more masculine scent. Cowboy opens with a bright and soapy grassy smell, like how you would smell after you put soap on your slip and slide to go faster. Then it sinks down more into a slightly petrichor and tobacco scent, a slightly ashy yet clean tobacco that then gets a slight dark roast coffee and cedar. Masculine leaning to my nose. Like how I felt going down those slip and slides in my Superman swim shorts, a daredevil. This is by no means a mainstream fragrance, and yet retains a cleans approachable nature to it at all times. I really really respect that, and I can see why this one sells out so fast. Very versatile in warmer heat, perfect summers night scent for the fellas who don’t wanna push dark perfume but stick to the fresh side. Another strong like, but not a love.

if the book 'lonesome dove' was a smell, it might be this. the opening is quite intense, where some have mentioned smoke or cigarettes, I get moonshine and hay. it dries down very grassy with a touch of leather, true to the name. I tend to wear this in spring or fall when humidity is lower, as the sillage is absolutely crazy. not safe for the car, the office, etc. it's confronting, it leans masculine, and it makes me think of bonfires and flannel. I might wear it less than some of my other perfumes, but I like having it in my collection.

a gorgeous, gorgeous scent. cowboy opens up with a fluffy pile of dirt and dewy grass. the scent is foggy until the coffee/leather cuts through and grounds everything. over time a sweetness creeps in.

Deep dark grassy, wet soil smell. I’m imagining a tree from my childhood with big exposed roots and almost black wet soil, worms everywhere. It smells like a tea tree oil scent to me in a slightly “maybe-too-much” way. My partner gets a really chemically vibe from it and doesn’t hate it, but thinks it’s overpowering. Very strong scent, it’s perfect for the “crushed leaves in my hands, rolling around in the damp shaded grass” vibe, maybe too realistic for every day use. Could imagine wearing it on an outdoors date only if I could air out the scent and feel like i’m blending into the natural environment. I would love to go on wine valley or sunset grassy walk with this scent, but even then, I worry that it’s just too overpowering.

I blind bought this based on the article in NYMag. The reviewer below who notes the rotting grass is spot on; it reads very under the mower deck in July. I don't get any wood or leather here, but the rotting grass does eventually evolve into something solidly green. I don't hate it, but I'm not in love either. I'm curious how this will fare layered with a good leather fragrance. Not sure this carries the "cowboy" name...where is the leather, and dust, and sweat? Landscaper, maybe, instead.

I think that the benadryl spray i had to put on to combat the rash from the perfume had a stronger and longer lasting scent. Idk of they reformulated because i dont remember it being this weak.

First on, it’s mostly rotting grass with some really nice sun baked wood, like dressed fence rails. The grass fades down some and becomes dry grass and mesquite, which is quite nice. Final dry down at 6 hours is nice tart notes with a soft leathery wood undertone, but it’s press-nose-to-wrist level. Overall, the rotten grass note lasts too long for me, but the ending is very nice and the mesquite center is great.

The smell of rugged Lucchese boots, disturbed green grass, fresh cut alfalfa feed, luxury horse stable. Kentucky Derby tickets. Slight animalic but clean.

I wanted to love this but it was too intensely grassy and earthy for me. Very realistic scent but not what I want to smell like.
