Oscuro

Platone you seems to be quite right, but keep in mind that something has changed inside Acampora family during the last two years: to talk frankly they must have changed something, seen that their fragrances are deeply changed and NOT for the better, unfortunately!

Powerful, dark; the patchouli climbs in all its beauty and the earth explodes in its thousand shades. It lasts an eternity.

I do happen to like lavender, though I don't often wear it as a stand-alone fragrance. If you don't like lavender, you'll probably still enjoy wearing Oscuro if you have a bit of patience. The lavender is very prominent in the opening, but it's part of a comfortable blend that will eventually overtake the aromatic lavender note after an hour or so. What follows is a smooth, plush aroma of soft woody notes, clean potting soil or freshly-turned garden, a whisper of patchouli and one of the prettiest musks I've encountered in a fragrance. No single note really dominates once the lavender steps back into line. The tonka bean is not overly sweet. Nothing in Oscuro is sweet, actually. The aroma has a slightly salty, earthy quality, like a new pair of gloves made of finest leather. As with the other Monom perfume oils, sillage is arms' length and longevity is excellent, 12 hours or more. Thank you to Monom for the opportunity to try this fragrance.

The lavender is what strikes me first. Very authentic, and of very high quality (like you would expect). Shortly followed by an equally realistic impression of earth. Like putting your hands directly into damp soil. Almost too realistic. Later, mushrooms appear. Like a childhood memory, picking mushrooms in the forest after the rain in Sweden sometime in the 90s. The style is somewhat reminiscent of Marc-Antoine Corticchiato. Agrestial, or more accurately, foresty. Although far away from the foresty we often refer to in the sense of pine needles . This is the floor of the forest, paired with a fresh lavender, that sadly dissipates too quickly. I wish the lavender lasted longer, then this composition would have been much more appealing. The earthiness is in need of something fresh to balance it up. That doesn't really happen here. You really have to like the sensation of earth to like this. I'm not sure how many actually do.

Thanks to the bankruptcy of a local perfume store I managed to get this beauty for 135€ less than the original price and I made the right choice. What an interesting scent. Opens piney with a lot of lavender but quickly develops into a mushroomy, earthy, dirty musk that on skin translates sexy. I can't help but think that this is what the scent of someone you have chemistry with would smell like.
