Camelia

It's wonderful. It's soft, fruity, a little bit creamy and just smells delicious. There is a joyous quality to it. It is nuanced without feeling complicated, and is very easy to wear. Upon first spray, you are met with a warm, glowy, lactonic fruity-floral-nectar smell. It is reminiscent of creamy orange fruits; cantaloupe melon, apricot, tangerine flesh. And yet, it doesn't feel like a gourmand at all. The slightly soapy floral element gives it complexity and depth, making it interesting and well balanced. This perfume really shines in the warmer weather. Those soft, balmy notes really begin to hum at around 15°c - 25°c, and it is really magnificent. Mind you, it can register as slightly sweaty and cloying in HOT heatwave weather (30°c+.) Despite the soapier notes, this isn't a 'freshie', and won't really work to deodorise or 'freshen up' on its own. With an air of calm and joyfulness. Juicy, cheerful and warm - a perfect spring scent.

Tried this today in Marks and Spencer's before wrestling through the insane Christmas crowds to buy some overpriced party wear. What a stunningly beautiful perfume! There is a very sweet fruitiness bursting out of the florals that is so gorgeously juicy and joyful. It immediately made me want to be just sitting on the cold floor tiles with my nose buried in my arm. Better still, it made me want to be out really living my life somewhere else rather than buying clothes that made a pretence of a life I didn't have..THAT is what it made me feel inside. Such a evocative and head turning beauty it could make you weep that you are not somewhere else when you meet it for the first time..somewhere else/someone else who is old fashioned in a wholesome and very feminine, warm and gentle way.

Clean, floral smell..an absolute compliment getter. Initially I thought it had poor longevity and sillage but turns out I had gone noseblind to it! My colleague complimented me on it, said sweety you smell so nice, at the end of the day! So yay! I was happy that yay I got a nice perfume! Easily lasts 6 hours, works for me at this price point! It is one of those perfumes that you cannot go wrong with! Definitely repurchase worthy! I haven't smelled anything like this before, but there is something familiar about it that I cannot put my finger on it, but it feels nostalgic. Love it!

I was pleasantly surprised by this scent. It is warm and comforting like a cup of chamomile tea with a drop of milk and a spoonful of spicy honey. It performs great on clothes but I am yet to let it macerate for a while and see if it behaves any better just like the other Monotheme of Venezia fragrances I have. I think it will be fantastic to use on its own, may be because I can not think of any other scent I'd like to pair it with. For the silly price of 8 Euros, it's a steal. Love it!

I love it. I can’t believe that you can find a fragrance this lovely, in this beautiful of a bottle at this price point. It’s clean, slightly sweet. It has a powdery soft effortlessly elegant vibe. It’s not a “mature” cloying floral at all. It’s just clean without being soapy. Think Byredo Blanche vibes. The notes say citrus, I don’t get any citrus at all.

A very powdery, sweet and floral scent that reminds me of having a cup of tea on my great grandmother’s couch on a sunny morning. It smells ‘old’ in a good way. Definitely wears longer on clothes than it does on the skin. Possibly one of my favorite Monotheme perfumes!

Blind buy and no regrets.. Unsure of how the camellia flower really smells like, but this brings a powdery sweet floral scent, with a vintage/ retro feel. Dry down is comforting, powdery and clean. Would totally wear it to a picnic or a tea party, the likes.

I bought this perfume blindly because of some of the reviews here and to get my cart up to the free shipping amount. (Not wise, I know.) However, it worked out. I think this is one of those rare scents that could be a safe blind buy if you like somewhat powdery, richly soapy florals. I happen to be in a floral exploration phase. Iris is the flower I'm primarily seeking, but I'm just generally wanting to explore the scent category, and this 'fume came in a pretty package and at a happy-making price. The juice: Monotheme Venezia Camelia is a pleasant floral scent. Initially, it's a warm, soft, richly soapy unidentifiable (to my nose, at least) white flower. The initial soapiness isn't screechy or sharp but rather somewhat creamy. The soapiness does get a bit sharper as it dries down, but not terribly so. It remains a supporting character to the flower's star. I wouldn't necessarily let the soapiness scare you away if that's something you don't like. I don't generally go for soapy scents, but I found this one palatable. That's why I'm dedicating so much of my review to that note. It makes sense to me that people would think this scent is similar to the Nivea perfume. I haven't sniffed that, but I have smelled Nivea soap, and I get the comparison. Camelia is a bit more floral than the soap, though. I'm writing this review approximately five hours after applying Camelia to my wrist, and I can still smell it. It's now much quieter, and there's a hint of white musk to it, but I still detect the soapy white flowers. Everything is sort of intermingled and blended and soft. I think it could be safe for office/daily wear. As I mentioned, I also am a fan of the bottle. I wasn't sure whether the stopper would be glass or plastic, but it unfortunately is plastic. However, I still like the semi-vintage look of the whole thing, and I LOVE the price. TLDR: My brain interprets this perfume as being a pretty, accessible, soapy nondescript white flower. The sillage is moderate, and its longevity seems to be pretty good on skin (5+ hours). Safe as a blind buy if you like all of those things, especially at this price point.

Well this throws me back to my childhood. Once the opening wears off it smells exactly like Dr. Brown's cream soda. There's even something metallic about it that recalls the scent of the can. The scent is all right. It also has a shampoo-ey aspect. I wish I could have sampled it before ordering though. I wouldn't mind a small travel size of this for when I'm in the mood to smell like cream soda :) but I certainly don't need 100ml of this. Oh well.

I bought this along with vanilla blossom, and I thought this smelled a bit basic. A pretty, powdery floral, you can't really go wrong with it but it's not what I'm looking for. Gave it away to a friend of mine who appreciated it more!

As a child, I got a little Santa Claus-shaped bottle of Avon Topaze. Monotheme Camelia reminds me of Avon Topaze (that soapy aldehydic feel) when first sprayed. But in a very good way.

Smooth creamy buttery floral, lotion-esque but not as powdery and mellow as True Love; an expensive cream with slight vanilla to warm it through.

Smells so clean🥹 and the word I can describe it is “innocent”

Sweet powdery floral. Simple, nice.

Upon first spray: This smells like a much less offensive, generic old world perfume. Like a perfumey perfume a la Chanel no. 5 or something like that, just very perfumey, but it ́s different and more soft/creamy, and you can ́t make out what ́s in the ingredients, it ́s just perfume. Wearing it: feels so warm, soft and creamy, quite powdery but not overpowering, and quite soapy, mostly soapy actually. I really do get the comparison to the Nivea perfume, even though I have not smelled it, but I know the smell of the cream very well, and it ́s quite similar. To me it smells like a mix of old world perfume and Nivea cream. Don ́t like it, smells like its lacking something, it ́s dull and boring to me.

Not for me. This smells way too powdery and gave me a lot of headache. This smells exactly like baby talc.

This perfume is so easy to wear but not easy to review because it’s so simple but just really beautiful I actually find this one hard to describe as a scent, it smells so versatile, you could wear anywhere, at any event day or night. It’s fresh, sweet but not candy sweet, it’s more like baby power sweet, floral but not old lady floral. Hear me out.. If I could describe this perfume as a person she would be a quiet, simple person but not invisible, an introvert but not shy when in a social setting in fact everyone loves her, she doesn’t need to be loud she gets noticed wherever she goes but she’s just a humble queen 👸🏼👸🏽👸🏻👸🏾👸🏿 she’s a stunning, quiet, quirky diamond in the rough 💎 Usually I know exactly how to describe a scent but this time this is the only way I could think of. It’s extremely feminine. It’s floral, sweet, powdery and fresh. It’s giving whimsical forest with a waterfall surrounded by beautiful wild flowers. 🧚🏼🌳🌺🪻🌾🪷

Clean, floral, fresh. Light daywear, not too powdery or floral, but very wearable and inoffensive. Bottle up for swap in the UK!
