Vetiver Bourbon

A cheap vetiver with good reviews. Had to try it! The opening is a wonderful bitter fresh scent. Herbs and green. The lemon, bergamot and artemisia shine immediately. Some say its lemon pledge but to me its bitter green with lemon. Its fresh but in a more herbal spicy way. The coriander definitelt gives it all that spicy kick. Man what a wonderful opening! The initial drydown comes quick. You get a wonderful vetiver scent. Its soapy and yet has subtle smokiness. Usually vetiver has a soapy smell to me. This strikes a nice balance. The Neroli isnt as strong but its there. The initial drydown is very vetiver forward. The opening is gone within 30 minutes, at least to my nose. The later period i dont get much sandalwood foom the listed notes. I get vetiver with an more earthy smell. Likely the neroli fading and thr oakmoss taking over alongside vetiver. The sillage is moderate and longevity lasted about 2-3hours. Those complaining of it being low quality, for a $15-20, what did you expect? Secondly, the notes do not contribute to a monster/"beast" kind of fragrance. If you love Guerlain Vetiver, you'll enjoy this. No where near the same in quality but for the price, this is so worth it. Smells more expensive for sure. 9/10 for vetiver and bitter green lovers! If lasted longer, would definitely be a 10. This will always be in my collection!

Not much to say about this one, except for that it's a very nice vetiver. Simple, incredibly smooth and palatable, perfect scent for summer with the fresh uplifting hint of citrus & greens in the opening giving way to a truly clean vetiver. There's a dash of earth in there too from some moss, Monotheme don't disappoint, producing yet again, a really decent fragrance. There's actually been a packaging change which usually means a reformulation, I actually got the opportunity to try both versions and I have to say they are both really nice. One lasted longer than the other, unfortunately I got my arms mixed up and I don't know which one was which? The older formula (bottle & box pictured here) or the newer version. (dark green bottle) Lasting power is a problem across the board for Monotheme but they are so well priced and great smelling that I really don't care if they only last a couple of hours. I know some pricier vetivers that are nice from Jo Malone or Diptyque that don't last either, so why not get this instead? If you like vetiver I'd check out Vetiver Bourbon, it isn't quite up there with Guerlain or Tom Ford but a worthy purchase for sure.

I really love this Vetiver. It isn't as green and bitter as the Guerlain Vetiver but I would say that it is a really close dupe to Creed's Vetiver (which legend has it that it was worn by JFK) It has the perfect balance as a clean citrus with woodsy and grassy notes for that hint of green. A good masculine for women to wear on a sultry hot summers day with a linen dress or suit. It really has that summer in hot climes feel about it, when it is too hot to be bothered about it so you clamour for the coolest and freshest fragrance you have and spend the day very happy with your choice. I once went on a first date with a man wearing Creed's Vetiver on a shirt that was checked like mathematical graph paper. I thought it was love at first sight for him but it was the fragrance that got me. Thankfully this is so close enough to my nose that I can buy this as an everyday staple without the need to remortgage the house!

If you love green fragrances, this is definitely the one you should go for. This one is a pretty linear scent, all you get is super green vibes with a sharp grassy vetiver for 2-3 hours. Lemon and artemisia makes this scent a little more edgy. It is a safe fragrance as well, I have never heard of someone who hates that freshly cut grass smell. You can get a different scent profile here but the vibes are more or less the same. Perfect for hot days. Great for occasions like a BBQ, hiking, or just hanging out around the city. If you are out for a special occasion, you would need something with more character and deepness. Have this in your collection as a nice, clean and fresh smell which is not super popular, so you would definitely stand out a little.

Weak longevity but a gorgeous fragrance for short errands or for home activities. The more I use it the more I love it. High quality for low price (12 eur). The vetiver is not dark and serious but bright, happy, freshly-cut-grass. The smell is very natural. This perfume brings a smile on my face every time I use it. Love, love. I plan buying a second bottle online for even lower price (8 eur)! EDIT: It doesn't try to clone anything that's why it has such quality for such a low price. Love it anytime I wear it.

A gorgeous very unisex sweet, fresh vetiver fragrance. The artemisia is evident along with the juicy citrus note. There is sweetness that makes me think of a delicious cocktail like a mojito. I can definitely see myself wearing this on warm day. It's cheap but it smells high end and not chemically like most cheapies. It's a shame the longevity is not good but being a cheapie you can just reapply in the day.

Admittedly I'm not very knowledgeable about perfumes, but out of all the ones I've tried throughout the years, this is still my favorite. Elegant, refreshing, subtly masculine (although I can definitely recommend it to women who want a less femme scent too), confident without being overwhelming, and just overall a very pleasant scent to wear during the day.

Very pleasant perfume, with great versatility. It can easily be worn in the morning at work and during night out, at a restaurant or at a bar.Aromatic,green,woody.Artemisia and vetiver are the dominant notes. Perfume for men, most suitable for ages 30+.It can be worn in every season except very hot days of summer. Best season:spring. Great value for money!

Not sure why no one has mentioned it before, but it smells really expensive to me. The very first image that came to mind was royalty in such a scent. True luxury. My mind was blown at how affordable this is (£29 only?! oh wow) I literally thought they labeled it with the wrong price tag.

That is a not so sweet type of vetiver. Lots of vetiver, moss, sage and bergamot. Extremely fresh. Definitely not the Creed's type. Closer to Vetiver Extraordinaire by Frederic Malle. As if Molecule 03 was mixed with Creed GIT. Monstrous projection and performance. Loving it!

This is an earthier vetiver than Creed's and creamier than Guerlain's benchmark classic but in truth is a very wearable and pleasant vetiver and I like it a lot. Also, performance is decent and at £30 for 100ml it really is a bit of a steal, this is lovely stuff. 4/5

I really like this stuff! There's nothing big or bold about it. It's just a nice comfortable fragrance that does especially well in the heat. (The price isn't bad either.) I've been looking for something foe summer that isn't 'blue'. I may have found it.

Beautiful vetiver scent, one of the best low budget vetiver perfume, i had owned in my life. Refined, uplifting, smooth, pleasant green embracing. Good performance on the clothes, average on my skin. Highly recommended for the vetiver lovers :)

This is very fresh and clean smelling. The vetiver is grassy not citrusy, dirty or dark. Sillage is good and longevity is 6 hours or so. Nicely blended and pleasant...an excellent value!

For 12.20 euros, I think this is one of the best vetiver scents you can get. Amazing in the spring and rainy days. Like a lot of vetiver scents. Lasts between 6-10 hours on me.

It is exactly the same as signoricci. In fact, the longevity of the perfume is even more successful. I can say that it is one of the best lemon perfumes. 10/10

A very clean fragrance. I wont go much into the details into breakdown phases as this is a very straightforward, linear and somewhat natural scent. This scent shines most for men with impeccable manners as there is some 'class' to it. Not a compliment getter but people around will definitely have a positive impression (and talked about) about how you carry yourself wearing this, that's why I mentioned this scent is for well mannered men only. - Slightly mature, for 30+ Men who just want to smell clean but not loud. - Can be worn in any season, performs better in warm weather. - Can be worn anytime, day, evening or night. - Can be worn on any occasion. Great for office. - Sillage is moderate. Does not offend anyone around in closed spaces. - Longevity is 1-2 hrs max after which it becomes skin scent and it is very nice. - 2 sprays on each elbow pit and 2 on the neck sides is sufficient. - Worth for the price as the scent is more on the niche side and not artificial. . - Neat bottle and a very sturdy and fine atomizer. This can be a blind buy scent and not regrettable one. Go ahead and buy it.

Another nice perfume from Monotheme. Vetiver Bourbon is a very nice, very elegant take on vetiver. It's a nicely blended perfume. It opens with lemon, vetiver, bergamot, coriander, artemisia, neroli and a bourbon rose. The rose may not be listed but, as the name suggests, it is there. About forty minutes in it gets joined by sandalwood. The perfume projects for about two hours before it starts to fade with the citrus notes going first, unsurprisingly. It gradually fades until it's all gone in just under six hours. It's bright and on the sweeter side until the last hour or so when it goes a little soapy before vanishing. You wouldn't think it sells for the price it does - it smells much higher end. Vetivier Bourbon works in any season and weather. An excellent bit of perfumery.

Let's make it clear that Bourbon Vetiver is a type of vetiver such as Haitian vetiver or Javanese vetiver. So it has nothing to do with Bourbon Whiskey. Bourbon Vetiver is considered a type of superior quality and in this scent it really shines in tandem with the citruses. Some may find it old school, I find it very elegant and classy. It's fresh and crispy with an aura of a very expensive bar of soap! It definitely suits gentlemen who don't want to smell like cotton candy at a funfair or a piece of tiramisu in a pastry shop.

I wore this Vetiver after wearing Milestone for the day, which does absolutely NOTHING for me and which has to go. Upon receiving Monotheme Vetiver, I found it was a bit drab but in high heat; guys, this is so good. I am starting to dig these Italian-style scents!

The one elderly aunty that always had the best gifts and when u went to her house it was such a specific taste, vintage but homey feel. The aunty in particular it reminds me of, had deep green suede wallpaper. This perfume matches her perfectly.

Lasts long on my skin. It is a well balanced scent with lots of vetiver, not as citrusy as some other vetiver fragrances I've smelt. This one is more on the soapy side to my nose but still very nice for the cheap price.

This brings me back to my youth. I used to go with my dad to the barbershop and this is that clean, fresh smell I associate to those warm spring mornings, in the late 60s. My hometown, in the suburbs of Naples.

simple, light, airy, with a hint of spice from the coriander. if you like vetiver it’s a must have especially for the price!

I find myself in the mood for Vetiver lately and I blind bought this because it was cheap with Bourbon in the name. However can’t smell Bourbon at all. The initial blast will make young people run away from that ‘old geezard’ aka you. Leathered skin and wrinkled faces conjure to mind. But let it dry down for 30 min and the potency drops down several notches that you can enjoy it on your skin without upsetting people around you. I would consider this a unisex fragrance leaning towards the masculine. Definitely a throwback to the 50s and 60s which could be a ‘vintage’ or ‘old school’ depending on your perspective.

Good if you wanna smell like you've been playing with grass 👍

I hate it. In the shop smelled like strong herbs but by the time I got home I ended up with a soap smell. Low class perfume.

I picked this up because it was inexpensive (around 10 to 15 dollars) hoping it would at least approximate a decent vetiver. Unfortunately, this contains no discernible vetiver, and the scent itself is poor. What you get instead is a very sharp, cheap, soapy, and "green-woody" aromachemical accord that feels more suited to a kitchen cleaner or floor wax than a personal fragrance. There is nothing here to treasure and, frankly, nothing wearable. If you are looking for a high-quality citrus-vetiver, you are much better off looking at Comme des Garçons Vettiveru or simply investing in a bottle of the benchmark Guerlain Vetiver. For the record, the Monotheme smells nothing like the Guerlain. Friendly advice: save your 15 dollars and put it toward a proper bottle.

Coriander is very strong in this fragrance. I'm not a lover of it (it reminds me of the smell of stink bugs). I bought the bottle because I was attracted to vetiver, but I hadn't read about coriander. Big no no.

Quick warning. The name Vetiver Bourbon does not refer to bourbon, as in the alcohol. Bourbon is a TYPE of vetiver, like Haitian Vetiver, Indonesian Vetiver, etc. Same with Vanilla Bourbon. No spirits involved. Having said that, I got very little vetiver in this one. While that was a bit disappointing, the opening of rounded citrus, a nice bit of artemesia, a light white floral and a subtle spice were unexpectedly pleasant. I was underwhelmed by the strength of this upon spraying, but the sillage improved dramatically.within the first 30 minutes and kept putting out until it faded at around 5 hours. Some of the reviews mentioned that this feels "old", but the neroli and what I perceive as yuzu give it a slightly juicy subtle sweetness that modernizes this and moves it more unisex. The spice note might be explained by coriander, but if so, it isn't photorealistic. I don't get either of the basenotes, ever, but the vetiver adds a background note of grassy earthiness beginning at around the 3 hour mark. This won't change your life, but it is not generic and has more character than those fragrances described as "easy reaches." For $15, this is quite impressive.

Vetiver is one of my favourite fragrance notes. I own too many vetiver fragrances including Mugler Cologne, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, have had Guerlain. This to me, is superb and along with the original Vetiver hombre by Adolfo Dominguez are the best vetiver as they have the earthy edge but done in a clean way unlike something such as L' Occitane's vetiver which smells almost medicinal. The two aforementioned can be worn throughout the year whereas Creed and Mugler are best suited to Spring or warmer days. Guelain for me, at least becomes cloying on my skin at times.

It oscillates constantly between tart citrus notes and vetiver in a definitely vintage fashion. The citric, almost grapefruit-like part is more obvious in a colder weather. Hot temperatures emphasize a strange, sour muskiness of something really old, and it's disturbing for me. Autumn is good, invigorating, clean and green like starched bedsheets in a manor house. I'm not sure why I'd personally wear it, but I'd love to be in a room that smells like this when the days are not so hot any more and the soil is preparing to chill.

Most def old school vibe. I do not get bourbon or vetiver, but I do get a good amount of old school green, soapy Italian style aftershave smell from the 70s and 80s. Pino & Selva vibes. For the money, it's a banger if you like classic fougeres. Never had a fragrance with a more misleading name. Very clean and enjoyable, like a spotless classic tiled bathroom in an old Italian stone house surrounded by beautiful trees, garden, seaview, and a light cool breeze. I think it's perfect.

This is an almost creamy vetiver, it is light and very smooth, I own the Guerlain and Chopard Vetivers, this is very different to both, a lot fresher, more like a Summer Vetiver, very easy to wear.

An elegant, calm, soapy barbershop vetiver. Impeccable for easygoing, meditative evenings, probably also for daytime. Fresh and a feel-good scent.

This is a remarkably pleasant and refreshing scent that performs well. It is also very inexpensive. I highly recommend it to all vetiver lovers.
