Arabians Musk

This absolutely burns my nose. Like an industrial spill. I've gotten a reputable decant, a sample. And Starry Nights has it too, I got a travel size straight from Montale. Roses Musk kind of has it but it's tolerable. I have 7 other Montale without this sharp, awful odor. I don't know what's in it. I get it with some "intense" perfumes too. Would love to know what's causing this so I can avoid it. I've smelled the smell it on other people too and wonder if they're wearing Arabians Tonka.

I really enjoy this. It's a true honey, like cloudy set honey, with the pollen type musk, a little like Tokyo Milk - Honey and the Moon but less sweet. I don't really get what's Arabian about it. The date notes probably deepen it and make it richer but is indistinguishable. It's a well balanced honey musk, made a little fresher with bergamot. More feminine leaning. I think overall it's a really well balanced fragrance. Arms length projection and fairly long lasting.

Love at first spray! Got a sample with my order and now I need a whole bottle of this juice! This could easily be my favourite Montale now. I don’t think it’s that similar to Sweet Oriental Dream, except the honey note but this one is easier to love. The honey is REALLY prominent in SOD but here the musk is the note most present. And gawd it’s beautiful! It is a bit more on a feminine side BUT I would love this on men so much. Sexy!

As a dirty musk and honey lover, I tried this new release today in a Montale/Mancera boutique. First you get a nice uplifting bergamote/orange blossom and the musk is quite faint. After one hour the citrus and flower notes tone down and the musk and honey dates jump front and center. It's a little bit animalic, not too sweet, quite close to skin and addictive. On my Christmas wishlist!

The opening has a blast of white florals that was initially off-putting but as it dries down, the white florals get toned down and the sugary sweetness steps in to balance it out. In the dry down, I mostly get a sugary, airy musky scent that becomes extremely addictive. Whether you've tried other Montale fragrances or not, check this one out as it's definitely upper echelon for them.

An intimate, refined, and velvety fragrance. It is a "second-skin" musk—clean yet surprisingly warm, sweet, and deep. It opens with a citrusy touch that I love, immediately warmed by sweet honey! Orange blossom lends a clean, floral, and airy nuance, while date adds a rich, dense softness. A wonderful discovery 💫💛 Sillage: 8.5/10 Longevity: 9/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

This reminds me of Emirati Musk. Emirati Musk is a bit more bright and fizzy. Arabians musk has some similarities especially if you bury your nose in it. But I love the honey note in here. It makes it more rounded than Emirati Musk and it has comforting sugary base. I HATED Arabians Tonka (oud is just not for my nose), I definitely will get a FB off this (post recession😂)

To Acrelune: Both are good but if you blind buy I’d recommend Arabians musk, unless you’re after a really loud honey scent, because Sweet Oriental Dream is LOUD, Arabians Musk is easier to like: sweet, powdery musk with a noticable hint of honey. Suits everyone I think..

A sweet and essence-y smell that I love so much! I agree with those that have called it creamy and pomadey. It’s not the most casual smell, but more formal. It’s kind of got a rich mum vibe, I can’t lie.

It’s really beautiful I have a 20ml. I will definitely upgrade once I’m finish with it, you can definitely wear this all year round! I paired it with Arabians Tonka and yeah 🔥🤯

absolutely nothing special. A similar scent is "sweet oriental dream". Yes, there are more ingredients here. Nice aroma. I would say clean musk.

Arabians Musk has perhaps a misleading name: the connection is made undoubtedly to one of the mainstays of the brand, namely Arabians Tonka. Well I am sure saying that both fragrances have nothing in common, and personally they transport me into two completely different dimensions. Arabians Musk is the smell of oriental nights, of a walk surrounded by the aroma of orange blossoms, with their bitterish scent mingling with a barely noticeable sweetness of dates and notes that slowly become cleaner and cleaner. I think it has a very defined personality basically, it is a polarising fragrance, which definitely would appeal on those loving orange blossom and slightly oriental vibes, with a clean drydown but keeping the basic essence profile of the fragrance. A truly pleasant, elegant and decisive perfume. ‘The Thousand and One Nights by Vittorio Zecchin.

I agree with other reviewers - this is a scent that sits close to the skin. Sprayed it directly on my skin before I dressed, and have to lift up my shirt to smell it. On first spray - it smells like root beer. Idk if that was just me, but the sugar + tonka creates this root beer smell on me. Not bad, just root beer, and once I smelt that, I couldn’t smell anything else. After about 30 mins though, it definitely became more powdery and musk. I think this is a nice sweet musk, that touches on gourmand, but not enough to scare gourmand haters away. I think it’s a safe, nighttime scent that you could really wear year around.

This is a sweet, soft, feminine fragrance. I like it a lot and will consider getting a FB of it :) creamy, slightly gourmand but totally suitable for the non gourmand lovers. Update: I ended up getting a 20ml bottle and so far am really impressed by the longevity and sillage. In the beginning the honeyed dates are the most prominent. The honey note is luckily not sharp like in JPG Scandal. In the drydown it turns into a fluffy powdered sugar scent that has some creaminess to it. Despite its sweetness I would say it is a more mature scent. Don't mistake this for Pink Sugar.

This is a nice musk scent with sugar, tonka bean, orange blossom and slightly honey. In my opinion it has nothing to do with being an "Arabic". Musk is okay but Arabians? Nah I am not sure about that. It also smells like a lighter version of Clinique Aromatics in Black. If you dont overspray, you can wear easily I guess.

for some projection is excellent, for me, whose skin doesnt hold or project most fragrances well, it does sit quite close to the skin. it smells wonderful, a sweet super musky cocoa butter scent to my nose, its very pleasant and most certainly a very unique scent that makes you want to keep smelling over and over

i have a sample of this one. at first i didn't like it as much, it felt too powdery for me. tried it again yesterday, and i was surprisingly pleased. it has such a spicy and sticky vibe on my skin, i'd say it feels exotic. i'm impressed actually!

it smells like the tesori doriente byzantum. very sweet, musky, creamy - i do find it a bit smoother than arabians tonka but i wouldnt really compare them as scents.

It truly depends on your personal skin type, which notes will emerging on you. Unfortunately I drew the wrong card.❌ First I smelled this on my friend 2 months ago, and ever since I wanted this! It was a creamy, sweet, very prominent sugared date vanilla scent, with creamy musk underneath. Today I've got mine, and I can't recognize the listed things above, although it's the same perfume (I'm sure it is not fake). My skin turns this scent to a very heavy, dry, powdery musk with honey and just a little bit of sugar. And that's it. I truly miss the dates, the vanilla, and the creamy musk that made me fall in love with this perfume. TBH it ages me, so now I'm quite dissapointed. It underperfoms compared to other Montales. It's a skin-close scent, and unfortunately not a long lasting one. But I liked it so much that it didn't bother me. I give some time for maturation to the ingredients to settle, and I hope it will grow on me. Now all I can do is just staring at the bottle with whale eyes 🥺👀

I have a decant of this. I decided with today’s windy weather about, I’d give this a wearing. From the moment I sprayed this onto my skin (3 sprays) this was humming in the air. This did not skip a beat in the seven hours I wore this today. Projection and longevity was all day long. What kind of profile did I get from this? Initially, the sweetness is there, but after five minutes the powdery and musky notes start to kick in. At that point I figured it out. As a guy wearing this, this is a fragrance for ladies. I would love to smell this on a female. A guy could pull it off but this is more suitable for ladies. If you do decide to wear this as a guy, I suggest dressing this one up for any formal events. This kind of fragrance can’t be worn casually from my time wearing it. Other than that, I rate this a 8/10. Scent profile is nice but would be a 9 if worn by a lady.

So, I've been on the look-out for possible alternatives to a couple of my most beloved but expensive fragrances. I am not seeking 1:1 dupes but fragrances that might be in the same wheelhouse as some of my most worn fragrances. And even though the notes are not similar, I hoped Arabians Musk might be an occasional substitute for Une Nuit Nomade "Jardins de Misfah." Arabians Musk is a nice fragrance. The perfume is pretty straight-forward. Opens with a lovely musk note that is thickened with, yet not necessarily sweetened by honey. The perfume quickly morphs into a dried fruit, honey-laden fragrance with slight floral under-currents. Also wears a bit powdery. While nice enough, I cannot see myself wearing this on a regular basis because it lacks a certain degree of interest for me to long for it.

I expected something else and something more from this fragrance. It’s a sweet powdery fragrance with honey. It reminds me of Sweet Oriental Dream. The difference is maybe the fruityness and that it has a sugary, almost caramel-like sweetness with the honey. Long lasting, powerful. But nothing really new. It reminds me of a candy from my childhood by the way it smells as that tasted. So a gourmand powdery Sweet frag at the end. It’s rather feminin to my nose, but can imagine it as a layering option for men as well.

Very nice somewhat generic oriental smell overpowered by musk more obnoxious than in Kirke.

Was hoping for a slightly sweetened musk. As odd as it may sound, this initialy smells like carnations mixed with cocoa butter, extremely sweet, no musk. I could not rid myself of the lingering thought that I had smelled this before, and not necessarily in a good context! Browsing my memories: was it some old-school heavy-hitter frag from the 80s that some men still dared to use many-many years after? Was it the mixed body spray cloud that would waft out of men's changing rooms? Was it something to block unpleasant odours in movie theatres? Was not able to fully pin it down, however, think @ms.moniczka's review may not be that far-fetched. In the drydown, the tonka does appear but I'm too traumatised to be happy about it.

This is one of the most disappointing Montale fragrances I have tried. It smells nothing like the notes, there's nothing gourmand about it, it's dry, musky, powdery with a very slight hint of honey. Nothing special and not something that I would ever wear. Feels very dated, mature and boring. The performance is disappointing as well. Definitely do not blind buy this and get a sample first and don't blindly trust the notes. I also sampled Dallachai and it was a massive disappointment as well. I'm not sure what happened to Montale (and Mancera) lately but most of their new releases are just not as good as the old fragrances, the scent profiles are pretty uninspiring and the performance is lacking.

This is first Montale that I couldn't stand...For me this is throwback smell...this is reminisce of smell of the public toilets in Poland from like 20 years ago. Sorry but this smell was so bad,back in the day. I just can't stand Arabian Musk...sorry. That is what I smell and of course everyone experience will be different.

It's more female than unisex. A very annoying, intrusive bad smell. If you liked Arabians Tonka, you won't like this. It's a disgrace to the Arabians family.

Literally smells like Play Dough according to my nose.

I don’t know how to feel about this. If you’re Arab or East African I’ll describe the scent to you: you know those cheap sweet generic oud oil that your aunt always has a scent bubble of? This is that but sweet. Or playdough? That’s what the dry down smells like which is bizarre. I was looking for a your skin but better scent, with a creamy vanilla clean profile, and the SA hands me this. Initial spray was okay and not as screechy as other montane perfumes. Was not blown away but it did fit the DNA I was looking for. The tonka bean and vanilla hear should have worked well but turns into playdough unlike Arabian tonka - where it’s very creamy. My skin drank this up within an hour after 2 sprays and I had no projection at all? I suppose the SA was correct in judgement it blends into my skin for sure!! But I don’t think it’s worth the price. It smells like a really good hand cream, something you’d find at a luxury body shop. I’m getting a very dry powdery musk that leans sweet but smells similar to the $7 Tesori d’orienté byzantium body spray (that smells better) with a MASSIVE playdough vibes. If you’re looking for a non-descript warm yet creamy clean smell that smells like shower cream or body cream this is it. I guess it’s least offensive. Its nice but nothing outstanding

I actually like it a lot—one of the best recent releases from Montale, in my opinion. This scent feels like it was made for warm, humid weather—it really thrives in that environment. In the summer, it smells creamy, almost like a pomade, with a dense honey note, a beautiful hint of powder, and a subtle makeup vibe. It’s feminine, creamy, slightly floral, with a touch of brown honey. I like it a lot. It has just the right amount of sweetness, the right hint of makeup, and the perfect creamy texture. I usually dislike the white florals–bergamot–musk combination—it tends to scratch my nose—but here, it smells like thick cream. The texture even reminds me a bit of marzipan. The performance is great, too.

All of the comments are true, it is both a skin scent and projector. Lasts forever on clothes, as it lasted forever on my test strip. 4 days later and still going strong. You must like powdery scents. It does go from honey forward to tonka heavy, then to a powdery musk with an orange blossom heavy-mid. A sort of flip-flop between those stages throughout the full wear/journey of the fragrance. But overall beautiful thick dense sweet & most of all powdery. Somewhat of a slight DHI vibe. I can see the slight playdough effect for just a flash but then it’s gone.

I bought this as well as Dallachai and both came last Friday. This is definitely the nicer of the two. It’s sweet, laconic & warm and will be excellent for autumn / winter. So far it’s lasted really well on my skin and develops nicely. When I first took a sniff, it smelt too much like baby dolls but I’ve shaken that feeling which is good. I’d repurchase 100%

Just got this today and it’s really beautiful! Sweet but not cloying, exotic notes which are beautifully blended. I thought I detected Cypriol Oil in it but it’s not listed in the notes. A definite attention seeker. The opening is not very citrusy and leaning more towards the honey and dates. A fantastic Création by Montale!

First impressions. I get a massive dose of tonka and cashmeran (not listed), powdery notes, and indeed a fluffy musk accord, which is quite clean, but the honey note seems to add some animalic touch. Quite simple, but very pleasant if you don't overapply (I find it very sweet).

Only similarity to Arabians Tonka is the sugar note, otherwise this is a warm, sweet, fluffy musk. It is closer to Bianco Latte than any other Montale, it isn't a dupe though. Just a gorgeous honeyed musk, not at all as sweet as I had expected.

I just got this .. this is one of the greatest fragrances i ever smelt.. smell like some bodylotion. Just sweet and comfortable .. feminine maby?? I don’t care i will rock this a lot 👌
