Be My Plum

It's reminiscent of Starry Nights but its on steroids. i caught a waft of this at a perfumery and i immediately fell in love. however, they were selling it at a considerable mark up so i didn't buy it 🙄. Green plum is my least favourite fruit, however it smells so good here, my god. It reeks of tuberose, pepper and -later on- coconut (not that well blended, but however all notes are stars of their own) . After dry down has a musky and tiare note that is truly reminiscent of the tiare in older bottles of cacharel lou lou. Really good. I can still smell it on my clothes 6 hours later. It's a light musk but it smells so good. I'm waiting to fly out to europe next month and collect my bottle because Montale does not deliver to the country where i reside :( So, If you can get your hands on this, get it.

It's hard to describe this fragrance in detail as it is weirdly indistinct, as some Montales can be. However, the full drydown is actually very lovely. The florals notes are very light, sweet, and airy. No heaviness. No big lilac. The powder and spice nuances are very mannered with just a dollop of Cambodian oud. The oud is unnecessary here, especially this rather unrefined strain, but it is subtle enough to be okay. It is very long lasting and projects well without suffocating. On my first day of wearing, I went to the grocery store for a very quick trip. The lady in the bakery absolutely raved about my perfume and wanted to know what I was wearing. She was crazy about it. I was surprised to immediately get a compliment. This one is okay on paper, but actually wears quite nicely.

I’ve sampled this. I couldn’t remember the notes - but I could identify them when I tested it, and when I checked I was largely correct. it’s smells as it should or as I’d expect from the notes . I could clearly identify the tuberose, which was a pleasant surprise as I love tuberose and I’d forgotten it had it in it. The musk came out as it dried down. All the notes were balanced . I find it is a scent that evolves as you wear it so to me it’s not linear. It’s pleasant, not really like anything I have... but I think the main reason I’d get a bottle is because of the bottle itself! ( Gorgeous colour ! ) however I’m not sure I’d overly reach for it. It wasn’t particularly loud but it did last on the skin all day. 7/10

I sampled this with some friends and no one but me liked it, to be honest. Probably not a crowd pleaser, but I find it gorgeous. Bright, sharp opening typical of the house, *lots* of pepper. I love the plum but wish it was more forward - the tuberose and the pepper tend to crowd it. I think the choice of florals in this one can read as powdery and dated, but I kind of like it. It smells a bit like a scent a grandmother would have fond memories about. I find that the coconut is most prevalent in the midnote section, for me. Once dried down I mostly catch musk and vanilla. Mood: Hot sun, cool sea breeze. The rasp of a razor against your leg. Damp already, just out of the shower. The bathroom is green tile, the fan is trying its best. The curves of the road, the small whine of a scooter's engine. Tipsy afternoon - malibu, bitters, maesil-ju. The kitchen counter is filled with limes and soda water. Pasolini on the projector, set against a cracked wall. "La domenica" by Cocki Mazzetti. A letter for every occasion, a stamp collection set in a white binder. Gift bag, tissue paper, tied up in a bow with a scarf. Fruit in the morning, dinner after dusk; the hunger between. Softly spoken, hands on your shoulders; coyly spoken, hands on the hips. A kiss, too eager, on the cheek.
