Candy Rose

Montale perfumes are inspired, mostly in the Orient. In addition, like all good niche perfume, cherishes by the use of natural and high quality ingredients. Although much of its fame comes from the line of fragrances created over the AOUD (or OUD – from the Agarwood), there are over 90 Montale fragrances and all of them are wonderful. Candy Rose is the type of scent that I dare call "tropical perfume". Contains notes of raspberry, black currant, lychee and blood orange, in the output. In the heart, patchouli leaves, Lily of the Valley and rose. Finally, brings notes of vanilla and white musk in its base. Once sprayed on the skin, the frutal tone arises, dancing between the bitter and the sweet, refreshing and juicy. A delight! Then, a delicate rose touches the skin and there it remains, with softness and extreme femininity. So, after about 40 minutes, the musk introduces its cleansing nuance, leaving that soapy aspect, almost burnt, but creamy, along with the touch of vanilla. This is a perfume of little evolution, whose rose is the main attraction and the seduction is present all the time. In addition to exude a lot, it lasts for more than 10 hours on the skin.I find it very suitable for warmer places and daytime use. For those who like this kind of fragrance, here is a beautiful creation.

All the negative reviews are shocking to me. This is essentially a stellar, good quality sweet candy rose scent. Granted when I bought this it was only 60 bucks... Most likely if I had paid more my review wouldn't be so positive especially for a Montale. I agree that this smells very ordinary and honestly I love it for this reason. Smells like a basic, but extremely well made sweet rose designer fragrance! Juicy Couture's fun and energetic perfumes come to mind when wearing this. A real crowd pleaser. I have people asking me the name of this perfume. Solid quality. Lasts 9 hours on my skin consistently and all day on clothes. I feel fresh, juicy, bright, fun, girly, and clean. Absolutely love it!

This is divine !!! I would never have guessed that any Montale could smell this way. This is like nothing I’ve ever smelled before. A beautiful and unique rose scent with super Longevity and projection. Definitely in My top 10!

Don't let the name "candyrose" fool you.this is sweet but not a gourmand. Montale candy rose is a sweet,modern floralfruity with rose being it's main actress but it's not all about rose..it's a Musky rose,soft and clean and pretty,blended with a sweet fruitchouli.it's very mainstream and easy to like.sweet,youthful and bright.I can't see anything masculine here.it's superfeminine,actually girly and is wearable even by young girls It has usual sweet,sharpness of a modern fruitchouli but as clean,musk shows up more in drydown,it becomes a little softer Nothing unique or genius here but I really like it while I don't love it.recently I decided to get rid of couple of my rosey fragrances because I'm not a hardcore rose fan as I used to be;but I decided to keep this one maybe because it's not like Chloe edp or Stella or other famous rose perfumes which are more than 80% about rose They don't smell the same but it kind of reminds me yves saint laurent mon Paris...in montale musky rose is more well pronounced while in mon Paris fruity notes shine more Longevity and sillage are both more than moderate.not as great as my other montale but still good for a pink floralfruity

I had high hope for this one . montales normaly sticks out and show there unikness , but this is not the case With this one. Its fresh rosy With a hint of blackurrant,lychee ,Orange flowers and patcholie and yes. there is some similaritys to Coutour Coutour. To me dry Down is very much like Montales Roses Musk. this kind of musk saddly dont work so well on my skin . I Guess this will be a great perfume for thouse who dont want to stand out to much. It is lovely and Nice yes , but thats it. To me no uniknes or special apeal found in this one On my skin this lasts about 4-5 hours

A bit intrigued by all the negative reviews. I found it at a great price at jomashop, so, being the frag lover I am, I went ahead and got it. Second-guessed myself because of these reviews right up until the moment I sprayed it. Not gonna say I fell in love with it at first sniff, but it is a beautiful rose fragrance. Like many do say, I’m not getting the candy out of it, but I was hoping it wouldn’t have too much of a candy smell, so it ended up being exactly what I was looking for - a nice, fresh rose that should work well for summer without being too musky.

Finally, a Montale with Rose that does not smell like Montale Roses Musk, nor Mancera Vanilla Roses. CANDY ROSE stands apart and smells distinctly different enough from the other two. That said, CANDY ROSE smells cool (that's the key takeaway), has more watery notes, smells more like a designer fragrance you'd snag at Sephora; it's the patchouli. It's lovely, but it doesn't smell particularly like rose, nor like candy. Smells like pretty much everything you've already smelled lately. Not remarkable.

Rose is by far one of my "avoid" notes. It usually turns sour (catty) or matronly on me. But after so much success wth Montale's rose creations I swapped or split for a decant of this Candy Rose. It has everything I love in the pyramid so it's gotta be a winner right?? Nope. Fortunately it is not any of those adjectives used earlier but this a full on rose, bright and beautiful. But it is just TOO MUCH ROSE for my liking. But Roses Elixir?? That my Rosey cup of tea!!!

First impressions: So upon spraying this on my hand I am greeted with burst of fruity/florals and for once I can say I certainly detect the Litche the along with the rose upon drydown, I always seem to always pick up on the rose the most strangely. Candy Rose is fresh and bold to me it's becoming one of those love at first sniff ones from Montale I am pleasantly surprised with this one. Will update on the sillage and how it fares outside soon so look out for that.

Sweet floral rose. Bitter veil more towards black currant than citrus. Musk undertone. Quite pleasant and sugary. Can`t smell any lychee, if it is meant to be the real lychee fruit smell and not some synthetic note that is used in classification- it does not smell like an actual lychee fruit and I`ve eaten hundreds of those :)

I like it, it's very rosy in all senses but not so much candy that I expected. The good thing is that it is a lot less green than the usual natural rose and also a lot less *perfumey*. It's nice but I think I prefer my rose/patch concoctions which makes the rose something more than just rose. <3

nothing with candy. just sweet roses. but roses not heavy. i dont like roses in perfumes, but bought this "blind buy", and its nice. roses do not irritating me. it not long lasting on me. 2 hours at all.

Surprisingly not as sugary or rosy as I'd expect but rather more of a rose bouquet. Reminds me of weddings. Really pretty without being a showstopper.

Jasmine-rose combo with slight hint of musk & fruitness. Feminine & mature (e.g. for ladies above ~30yrs old). Would be a good gift for a mother.

This is the first Montale I've tested properly, and I have to say I'm not wild about it; I'm not surprised to see this isn't one of their more popular fragrances. I'd ordered a decant in a a sale on a whim, thinking it would be a safe bet for me with a name like that, but I was wrong, or maybe the name is just misleading, as jdokicfan suggests. Candy and roses are hardly the dominant scent components here, at least in the first phases which are by far the strongest; I would suggest "musky fruit and patchouli" as a more accurate description myself. The opening especially really isn't my thing. Sure, there's a lovely fresh rose hiding somewhere in there, but this is overpowered entirely by a vaguely fruity, rather synthetic, "perfumey" kind of smell, a bit like hairspray but muskier and with a hefty dose of patchouli. Maybe it's just not working with my skin chemistry, but this really does nothing for me. It does get a lot better in the drydown, when the scent calms down a lot and the name starts to make some more sense: the roses do come out more, and there's a subtle, soft sweetness to the composition that's actually a very nice interpretation of "candy". It's just too bad that the scent is also a lot weaker by then, having retreated very close to the skin. So although the drydown is very nice, I don't think it quite makes up for the vaguely unpleasant opening, especially not considering the high price. I have a couple other Montale decants coming my way, and I'm really hoping this one isn't representative for the line as a whole!

First spray? Rose. Oh God. Just straight up Rose. On the initial dry down though that rose smell started to give way to something more sweet. The litchi started to pull through the longer on my skin it sat with the rose taking a backseat but never truly forgotten. I was hoping the orange would pull through on my skin but alas, it seems like orange is just destined to never pull through on me unless it's the center star of a fragrance. As I entered into the 5th hour of having it on me the vanilla and orange Blossom were peeking their heads out to say hello. It was definitely soft, intimate - like a very gentle whisper. One thing I will say is at no point with this fragrance did I feel like it was loud other then the initial spray down. After it dried down it took a much sweeter, gentler turn and stayed in that lane for the rest. For me this would be a nice soft every day fragrance, nothing I would say to special or unique but it is lovely. Purchased as a part of a sampler set from the Montle site and I can't say I'm running to purchase. It's not bad, but not for me.

What is interesting, on my skin there is no any sweetness, there is no any rose, neither candies..It is a fresh scent, quite a complicated fragrance. If it is supposed to be rose, then it is just freshly cut rose stems. The scent of the freshly cut stems, very green and fresh with citrus hint. So, those things are dominant here. Rose butons are not here..so..do not get confised with the name of this scent..it is actually not suitable name.. Slightly reminds me Givenchy Ange Ou Demon Le Secret.. in the dry down, but Montale lasts longer, less delicate and more straight forward, without flowery vibe. Candy rose fresher and it quite unisex. Will might suit to a specific type of a man just perfectly.

It's not a safe buy so pick up a sample first if you want to try it. The name seems misleading even for those in the comments who enjoyed this fragrance. It's not candied at all and the top notes are practically nowhere to be found, which is hugely disappointing. This is definitely more of a soapy, musky rose and indolic white florals with a hint or undercurrent of patchouli. I sprayed on both skin and clothes. On skin, it reads more musky/soapy and on clothes it reads similar though to a lesser extreme. Edit: I read the comment below that likened this to an air freshener in a public restroom. That is spot on. Again, do not buy a full size bottle of this without testing it first.

I knew going into this that Candy Rose couldn’t possibly be any more outside of my usual taste, it is very clearly not my style but I thought I’d share my thoughts anyway. The name absolutely does it justice; a sweet, sugary rose. The rose stays very central, but is noticeably rubber and plasticky, like a rose made of latex or wax. It actually sort of reminds me of the smell of those wax figures in the London Dungeons, a very particular, if not unpleasant, childhood memory of mine. It’s very very sweet, undeniably juvenile and immature, but that’s fine. As I said, this is clearly made for someone who is not me, and I’m sure many can find enjoyment from it.

I am not a huge fan of roses, but so far Montale's rose fragrances have not disappointed me. I love Roses Musk, Intense Cafe and Rose Elixer. Unfortunately this one is not that great. In the opening I smell roses (obviously), but also something that is probably an indolic jasmin. There is just something a bit poop-y about it that reminds me of a rose scented airfreshener in a public bathroom. Not something I'd want to smell like... Fortunately this does get better in the drydown and it becomes a slightly sweet (not candy sweet imo) rose scent. Okay, but can't compare to Montale's other rose fragrances.

I don't know what Mr. Montale did with all those notes but this one was NOT a candied rose AT ALL. It smelled like hairspray, cheap ass hairspray from the 90's like Aqua-net or Rave. So glad I got a sample of this. Do not blind buy this if you're thinking you are going to get a candied, jammy rose. Rose Elixir was much better and Intense Cafe was definitely the winner. The coffee note was really minimal and it just smelled like a jammy rose to me. Go with that one or Rose Elixir.

This fragrance rather smells fruity notes with a hint of vanilla than any roses. Too simple for this brand. Smells like a cheap even not luxe, but mass-market rather than deluxe. Disappointed(

To me this smells nothing like candy or roses. It’s just a boring soapy floral scent that only lasts on my skin for about 10 minutes.

No candy, just a synthetic rose scent that doesn't last. Very disappointing.

This smells like “fresh” scented cat litter to me. I barely get any rose, much less candy rose

I have recently been sampling Candy Rose as well as Roses Musk and initially i thought that the one i'd love most would be Candy Rose, when in fact Roses Musk Trumped this one for me. Unfortunately this one is extremely disappointing and boring, especially for Montale! I don't think that Candy Rose is quite an appropriate name for this fragrance either, maybe Fruity Rose (even though it sounds bad it gives a more appropriate name to the smell). It is Rose at the front with fruits behind giving it more depth but it is nothing original, spectacular or interesting. This fragrance does not smell like it would have such an expensive price tag and personally for me doesn't live up to the Montale name. Very underwhelming. Don't get me wrong it's nice but i wouldn't want to pay the expensive price for this when there are so many other beauties i can wear. Sillage and longevity were quite average on me too for this one.

This scent smells very familiar, broadly speaking it smells similar to a lot of the fruity rose fumes with dash of patchouli & bergamot combos out there, slightly masculine not all the way feminine, sits very much in the middle for unisex. Its got a fresh greeness with the fruity, slightly juicy, can get a little sharp notes of jasmine, bergamot in the opening, the sweetness of Lychee, but Rose in this is way in the back. This does not smell like a Montale creation, daresay it smells a tad synthetic. I would think if testing this blind it was a new MJ's "Daisy" or a new "Juicy Couture". The dry down is lovely soft and the opening harshness disappears. Try before buy!

Not my type, but I cannot dislike it as it`s a great quality. It lives up to it`s name. It is to perfume what pop is to music. Class.

Really much alike Roses Elixir But this one is fresher and nice More sour, less patchoulish
