Crazy In Love

Ok so I deleted my first review because it was negative/neutral and after wearing this perfume for a few days I changed my mind completely. I am absolutely obsessed with this fragrance. Crazy in love with it. I blind bought this after looking at the notes and the beautiful and stunning presentation of the bottle. The brown sugar and vanilla really got my interest. Upon first few sprays I was convinced this perfume is not for me because it’s a bit more masculine than what I’m used to wearing. I loved it when I sprayed it on my fiancé’s wrist but wasn’t liking it on my skin so I decided to give this perfume to him. After a few days I decided to give it another try. The unisex scent of the rose, saffron, amber and vanilla is so so so addictive. I kept spraying in on myself throughout the day and fell more in love with it with each spray. It’s spicy, it’s rosy, ambery and slightly sweet at the drydown. When I smell my shirt where I sprayed the perfume yesterday it actually smells sweeter and still spicy and god, this is so so good. An amazing unisex fragrance, more men should try this out as it’s super sexy and unique. The scent kinda reminds me of the “new age” shops in the early 2000’s where they sold incense and handmade leather and crochet bags and hippy style clothing. Love love love it! Crazy in love is definitely the right name for it. Edit: if you have any plain vanilla perfumes do yourself a favour and mix it with this one. I tried mixing it with Montale’s Sweet Vanilla and Macera’s Coco Vanille and it smells heavenly 💕

If you don’t like middle eastern perfumes you will hate this. It smells like the rose oud oils people bring back from haddj (and I mean this in the best way possible). If you’re looking for a syrupy sweet bright rose fragrance stay away from this one, rather get Rose Rouge by VC&A or Rose Trombone, this is a rose that is drenched in wood oils and tossed on a tray of spices, and I’m absolutely in love with it. Then again, I am arab, and I love to « smell arab », but even arabs around me who enjoy more western-like perfumes, find this « a little too arab-smelling » Definitely not blind buy safe. But absolutely worth every penny for those who like incense and oud and roses. I’ll have to say it’s not groundbreaking, as mentioned earlier, it’s very close to oil perfumes of Medinah and Mekkah, but it’s still absolutely lovely. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 10/10

Air of Grace is spot on with her review: This is a bomb of sweetness, amber and saffron and with same rose you find in Montale's 'Starry Nights'. It's super strong in projection, longevity and insanely delicious, at least on my skin it smells absolutely irresistible to my nose. Like Arabians Tonka, this definitely leans more masculine and on men it would smell.... Good lord .... Now I'm not saying that 'Crazy in Love' is a unique masterpiece akin to the greats, but its just so sophisticated and SEXY. Definitely full bottle worthy in my book, number 1 on my wishlist

This is exactly Montale Starry Nights minus the annoying powderiness. Most Montales smells very similar to each other and this is another one. I like this scent more as it smells fresher and projects more on skin. Dry down is delicious praline like sweet thing that I find addictive. Its a projects well and all seasons except summer. I really like it because it fixed what I hated about starry nights. I can see myself having a bottle. I way prefer sensual Instinct from Montale over this but still really good.

I had a sample from this one and, once I finished it, I ordered a full bottle. I am not a fan of rose-forward fragrances, but this one makes me feel younger than I am, lasts all day on my skin and even after one wash on clothes, and the sugary notes are not suffocating. They are strong, but don't reach the nausea level by any means. I was actually hesitating between this one and Arabians Tonka and eventually opted for Crazy In Love, because I am no longer a fan of oud, regardless of the oud category.

Sharp and spicy rose in the beginning, but luckily doesn’t last too long. Definitely no hospital notes in the saffron! The dry down is a warm, comforting musky vanilla, typical for most Montale fragrances. It’s like if you mixed Roses Musk with Arabians Tonka. Definitely lasts on my skin, I can even feel it on myself after a few hours, especially the softer dry down notes. Stays even longer on clothes! Works well in winter and spring, but definitely not summer.

J'ai été séduite par l'échantillon reçu. Je me suis donc offerte la bouteille de 100ml. Les premiers sprays étaient très désagréable, l'odeur était très sèche. J'ai laissé le parfum dans un coin quelques semaines et quelle surprise le côté vanillé et rond du parfum ressortait plus. J'aime à ce jour énormément ce parfum. Peut on parler de la projection et du sillage ? Je superpose tantôt avec Rose Elixir, tantôt avec Vanille absolu 😉

Does anyone really tried it? Even did not stand near Baccarat or Sensual Instinct. Got my bottle today and I would rather say, that it more similar Oud Pashmina mixed with Delina lighter version, maden for summer. Very nice saffron here- without any " hospital" scent. Actually, nothing super new in it, but very pleasant for summer. Try to not spritz it, but spread, and u will smell sugary wild rose with oud..

The warm and spicy notes are here embraced by a wonderful rose note. This perfume gives you confidence, it has wonderful longevity and sillage. I don't really smell the vanilla, but I really love this fragrance! I would say that it's perfect in every season (to use with caution of course as it's really strong). As other people mentioned, I also feel a lot of oud, which is actually not listed in the notes!

This is mind boggingly beautiful. It has all the things a woman would want in a fragrance and it lasts for an eternity. It also layers well with so many different types of scent profiles. My signature fragrance switches between this and valaya depending on how I feel. Smells like: br540 mixed w delina and a splash of oud.

My strongest perfume. It’s eternal and gets me compliments every time. Very Middle Eastern and spicy but so so beautiful! My boyfriend also loves to wear this

Very beautiful scent, sweet and fluffy..I can smell similarity with Kayali sweet diamonds. Longevity is great. Pure recommendation

On my skin this is incredibly similar to Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud. They are not identical, but they seem very easily mistakable - I own both and I asked my husband to spray one on the left hand and the other on the right hand without me looking, so I could guess. And I had a bit of difficulty to tell which is which. Actually, what made me guess correctly was the fact that Shaghaf Oud is actually stronger, richer/ warmer and a bit more sweet. In terms of longevity, Shaghaf Oud wins again for me, with a solid 8-9 hours, while Crazy in Love becomes a faint skin scent after 5-6. I don't know where you all get 12-24 hrs... Projection is very loud for both of them. Packaging is better for Montale (I actually hate the SA bottles). But in terms of price there is quite a difference, so this will most likely be my first and last Crazy in Love bottle and if I feel the need for this DNA again I will go for Swiss Arabian's version. Also, it is quite mind-blowing that the notes list absolutely no oud so maybe it's the saffron & rose combo that gives it such a spicy, middle-eastern vibe.

I tested it today and no doubt it's Montale. The DNA is prominent. Not sure if it's saffron or amber, but there's something very distinct and similar to each of their fragrances. I got a sample of 2ml which will last me for ages because like any other Montale the silage it's absolutely nuclear. I literally used only one drop on my wrist cause learnt by previous experiences with Montale I knew using a pump on that microscopic bottle would be an overkill 😅 So it's starts as creamy exotic floral herbal punch to the face. It's beautiful but it is also incredibly intense. Despite the pink bottle it leans towards masculine imo. Especially in the dry down. After an hour or two I was sure it reminded me of something I already knew. 3 hours later I knew: Gucci Pour Homme! Maybe it is just due to my unique body chemistry. But for any of you who search for a replacement for this discontinued frag I strongly recommend you try Montale Crazy in Love.

A sharp, overstimulated opening of rose that flows into amber & spice. The synthetic oud-like note that's present in a lot of Montale fragrances dries down to something more tender & yielding. It grows on you like an alley cat. This is not, to my nose, an androgynous scent. It leans somewhat feminine. This would be a good pick for those who wish to evoke the memory of a lost lover, regardless of gender. Mood: Albany, NY, 2006. A loft apartment. This is her last cigarette, for real, this time. Secondhand leather jacket. Soft like a bruise. "Found Love" by Sofya Wang, or "Heaven or Las Vegas" by the Cocteau Twins. An unread text message. The end of act 2 in a romcom. A bouquet of roses. Sensible heels, burnt incense. Teddies, comma, bears. Kisses & hugs, forever yours, call me when you get home safe. All my love.

I have to say, I absolutely love fragrances with saffron, even though I’m usually not a big fan of rose. In this case, however, the balance between rose and saffron is just perfect, with saffron being the note that shines the most and lingers beautifully. Behind that, I get sweet touches of sugar that make it truly irresistible. Has that unmistakable oriental vibes, and it reminds me of scents like Arabian Tonka , BR540, Sensual Instinct and Nomad Bond 9. To me, it’s a solid 9/10. Crazy in Love feels incredibly powerful, seductive, and sexy definitely not a shy fragrance. I personally find it leaning more towards the feminine side, and I absolutely adore it, just like most of the Montales in my collection. No office friendly.

I’m not sure about this perfume? It’s compared to Sweet Diamonds Pink Pepper, which is one of my favorites and why I purchased it. But it’s got more middle eastern spices, closer to Shaghaf Oud, but a bit more sweet. I’ll give it a bit to see if it grows on me. Especially since I have a 100ml Bottle! I prefer Sensual Instinct, love that one, but it is very different; much sweeter. I’m giving this perfume more time. Edit: I agree with candylover666, add a vanilla and it’s yummy. I used Boum Vanille Sa Pomme d'Amour to layer.

When I first sprayed this, I was hit with a strong rose note but almost immediately it settled into the brown sugar and hint of amber! The rose pretty much disappeared which I'm OK with bc the opening made me think of Roses Vanille which I also own. How people are comparing this to Sweet Pink Pepper Diamond is odd as I have that too and it's one of my fav perfumes yet I didn't think of it at all while wearing this..

This lasted 24+ hours on my bare skin. It did not come off until my second shower and even then i still felt like I caught a whiff of it here and there. To me this is like a flanker of Arabians Tonka. If you took that DNA and amped up the rose and saffron. EDIT: Upon further wear, I find I wish it had MORE rose. So I have been layering it with a spray of Roses Musk Intense and I feel that it is perfect that way.

At the beginning it opens very loudly with a rose note. Then you get spices with amber. You get the feeling of a weird mix of Montale s intense cafe and MFK BR 540 with an extreme oriental vibe. It is heavy and wintery, not an easy perfume. The sillage and longevity are strong, but I guess you can live without this in your collection 😔

I really do enjoy the opening - it’s a bright rose, that slowly glides into spices, it is such a soft ride. Very pretty. I don’t like the dry down though, it becomes too heavy for me. Solid performance, somewhere around 4 hours on my skin. Definitely not for someone who likes light perfumes.

This smells pretty but a little much for me. It’s very potent with one spray. I get a lot of the rose notes and slight amber. Bright, sweet very strong floral rose with a bit of warmth on the dry down.

Montale Oud Pashmina with a strong sweet vanilla overnote. Also, this has a similar vibe to MFK Oud Satin Mood, but that one smells fresher and way more "expensive".

A strong sexy saffron perfume. With Rose and Amber, it is a warm scent, more for fall & winter to my opinion. Very sexy, not office compatible, it is a bold perfume.

Take the opening of Starry Night and the heart and dry down of Arabians Tonka, and there you have it - Crazy in love. Best of both worlds

On me it smells exactly like Baccarat Rouge! The difference is sincerely infinitesimal. Also, monster sillage and longevity!

Despite the Barbie color packaging, this is for a Ken. It’s the Montale/Mancera Roses Vanille, Intense Cafe, Arabians Tonka dna, except replace any gourmand accord with leather, metal, and purple violet. Personally, I can’t abide leather and metal, but I can see how a man might find the dna in those others too femme without adding these masculine elements found in Crazy in Love. If he likes it, good for him. This is Kenough.

The first thought "Arabian's Tonka younger sister". Bright and syrupy sweet, fun... Great sillage & so potent! Probably a great clubbing scent for someone younger. Vanilla, praline, rose & bling bling. Hope it helps! My youtube channel: @SanneParf

This is a very masculine leather-heavy rose, despite the pink packaging

I enjoy Montale's intense takes on rose in general, but I find Crazy in Love rather scratchy and unpleasant. It's everything people criticize about Montale, amped up to eleven. Because of the name and the pink bottle I assumed this would be a sweet and feminine scent, especially because it sometimes gets compared to Lancôme Oud Bouquet. Well, I suppose this could be something like Oud Bouquet's evil clone. The opening is so harsh to me. They took the coldest, most metallic smelling version of safron, which is very close to the synthetic oud that Montale often uses. I was surprised not to find oud in the notes list. It is mixed it with the the typical tart Montale rose we know from other fragrances like Roses Musk or Intense Café, and then they added a very bracing and heavy violet leaf to it. It's so intense you can taste it when you drink something in the first minutes after applying. When it has dried down for at least 2 hours, Crazy in Love becomes more palatable. A little vanilla and amber come out and add some much-needed warmth to the fragrance, while the sharp notes calm down a bit. The scent is sweet, I can't really say it smells like brown sugar though. Of course it's still mainly a rose and safron/oud perfume, not a gourmand. The drydown is not bad to my nose, but not as deep and rounded as Oud Bouquet, MFK Oud Satin Mood or other perfumes in that vein. I see no reason to wait through the brash opening in this case, there are many better fragrances with a similar scent profile on the market. Even the very affordable Shaghaf Oud smells balanced and smooth next to this. I can't compare it to Arabians Tonka, never tried that one. At least the performance is great, so if you like Crazy in Love, you really don't need much of it to last all day. Try before buying, even if you're usually into this kind of fragrance.

Powerful leather & rose fragrance. Literally smells like a bouquet of roses wrapped up in a motorcycle jacket. I wanted to love it because the hot pink bottle just does it for me.. I wish the brown sugar was stronger & overall that it was sweeter. However, if this is the type of scent you are going for - Montale nailed it on the sillage. This will fill a room!

If you can bear the first 15 minutes of screechy and loud noise of this perfume, you will eventually get warm vanilla with a sweet rosy touch - somewhat wearable. Maybe it should be named “Crazy And Love”, crazy opening and lovely drydown

To me all I can smell is rose gourmand from zara but it seems that's only me, My mum wears this and ot packs a punch I thought I'd like this one I don't.

This one is a little too sweet like nausea inducing . I like the montale dna behind it , but tits a little one note

My husband and I travelled through Italy in June and came across this niche, boutique perfume store in Lucca. We both bought a bottle each of Erbario Toscano’s fragrances as a momento of our travels . We subsequently had our luggage stolen in Pisa and we both mourned the beautiful fragrances we lost . This fragrance - Crazy in Love by perfume house Montale reminded us so much of the perfume I lost called Zafferano Rosa . The key similar notes were the Rose and the Saffron . I’m more a linear , white flower girl but because my husband adored Zafferano Rosa on me , I grew to appreciate the beautiful saffron rose scent. When we came across a lady wearing CIL in Sorrento I had to purchase it . However. Montale’s CIL is a monster , overpowering bomb of saffron , Amber and burnt sugar . I tried wearing it a few times at home and just got drowned in spice hell. A regrettable purchase cause the notes don’t sit well with my nose and skin and I should of known after trying many samples of this perfume house , it’s not my cup of tea. But I totally agree with its longevity and projection - one spray is enough to last 24 hours on me . Update : Sold my bottle

This is not what I was expecting at all. If you’re looking for a sweet, sugary rose perfume this is NOT it. The bottle screams feminine but juice says otherwise. This is extremely powerful. I have never smelled anything like this, and I can say, by itself it is enough to make you and everyone in the room vomit. This needs to be mixed with a vanilla perfume AND mancera instant crush then it is somewhat tolerable. Update: My throat is burning from now strong this perfume is. I keep smelling it praying it will grow on me and it just keeps getting worse. Terrible blind buy, top 5 worst perfume I have ever smelled. If you like Arabians tonka you will probably like this as well.

Awful shoe polish / lacquered wood accord dominate the scent. Everything drowns in it. It is masculine and similar to Baccarat Rouge. Crazy In Love is much worse than Mauboussin In Red in which the lacquered wood accord is done right in a feminine way. Karat by Maison Alhambra also has this agressive aromachemical and is identical. Some think it fruity, but I feel it is toxic. It is also present in some male scents. Who would have thought that I will meet the second scrubber in my life (Al Oudh long time ago, and recently Baccarat Rouge and all the more masculine siblings, this included) I never liked the word scrubber to be used about parfums, but I had no other choice.

It smells really bad...I have received sample with my order from Montale website so I have tried genuine fragrance. It smells so sour and sharp I couldn't stand opening and I have to wash it off. Funny smell didn't want to go after wash. No brown sugar, amber and vanilla in here. It is not sweet, maybe some green notes you can smell in here. It is similar to other rose Montale fragrances(it share same dna) but it is much much worse, because of that sourness. I can't even describe it. It is no worth the money. If you want nice rose try roses musk as it is more rounded.

The rose, one of the most beautiful smelling flowers, is absolutely obliterated by the overdose of woody amber materials like norlimbanol. The thing I hate about Montale is that they prioritize performance and just throw a bunch of pungent, nuclear materials in their fragrances. Safranal smells really pleasant at low concentrations. Here, they used it way past the sweet spot, revealing the medicinal notes. I love jammy rose fragrances, so I thought I would like this. It’s Montale though, what was I expecting?

This was a very bad fit for me. It was overpowering and I had to scrub to get it off. I'm always looking for a Baccarat Rouge 540 like perfume. This didn't hit for me.

this is a typical Montale perfume and yet a sidestep of it. its brash and even scathing beginning is as loud and alarmistic as you'd expect from Montale. it indeed is this gargantuesque, omnipresent, attention-grabbing Rose in all her splendour and Sinisterium. I always loved Montale and with this perfume I still do. then, as it also was described by Elena Prokofeva in her brilliant review, above to be linked, the Rose quadruples and Millefeuille times on Steroids Multiplies and Fluidisize in an all embracing and all Contortionist hold. it is all still Montale. then the real poison is in the Saffron, which I always love and still here, also am stupefied. a Saffron estoupoufflante, étourdissante and asphyxiante. the saffron takes a mean bite, it becomes sharper and sharper it even gets an Oudy characteristic. see now that Montale NEVER said there is oud in here when there wasn't and neither there is no oud in here when there was. he just knows how to swirl with spices and his (and mine) flower, the rose, has thousand faces. she also looks around the corner in her most sophisticated 'Rose de Mai' aspect, when to have the entire perfume initiated with a dropdead whore rose. the saffron gets mean as that there are metallic notes, a desert like dryness, a BLOCK of spices. then suddenly there is the Brown Sugar, druggifying an already hypnotic perfume. I went, against Elena's tip, into a funeral of a dear friend of mine, the next day, weaponed to the teeth wearing THIS perfume. they know me and B wouldn't have wanted elsewise. now, after days having worn Crazy in Love and studying her, I suddenly spritzed on Oudmazing and then the one perfume defines the other. Oudmazing is soft, has resemblances with Mona di Orio's (a shame the Maison closes) 'Nuit Noire' and Juliette has a Gun's 'Lady Vengeance'. soft, complex and chic. while this Barbie Hooker perfume appears as herself: hard, spikey, obnoxious and opaque pink: to die for.

Crazy In Love smells like Montale Arabians Tonka and Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous had a baby. Crazy in love smells like an herbal fresh creamy leather. Despite the notes listed, it is not as sweet and gourmand of a fragrance like Arabian's Tonka but not as bitter as Fucking Fabulous. This is a very unisex fragrance and is a safe blind buy as it's pleasant and wont offend anyone. Projection/silage/longevity is above average but not beast mode for this one. It could be used as someone's signature fragrance as it's quite a pleasant neutral fragrance for all situations.

Very close to Arabians Tonka...maybe a little more rosy, but still very-very close. Sillage & longetivity are both monsters. I don't know why did they launch this cause to my nose these two are almost identical...maybe the bottle...the black bottle will attract a different audience than the pink bottle so they can sell the almost-exact juice for two different type of customers? Idk if that makes sense cause us, perfume lovers do test the juice, but still, why else would they launch almost the same frag?
