Day Dreams

A safe blind buy for white floral & citrus lovers, this was another successful gamble for me, based on seeing a cheap 100ml bottle & liking the notes. I would say this is a typical golden citrus, beachy, white floral summer scent. It’s gorgeously feminine, rather than unisex & I would say it’s a fairly typical, unoriginal fragrance style in that it’s not a unique combination of notes. In this sense it is different to other montales & has less unique qualities. It actually reminds me a bit of Lady Million, (but with a bit more about it), so yes the profile is more generic / designer like, than from a niche house. For me it’s safe buy for lovers of the notes and I can see how people likened the smell to the insert of a beauty magazine. Reminds me of walking into the fragrance section of a beauty department store. It’s just a well rounded, lightly tropical floral fragrance.. pleased to have this in my collection

I only ever had one Montale perfume before-Dark purple, and at a first whiff this was a 1000% reminder, so the Montale DNA is definitely there and I love it. I am always on the hunt for fresh perfume that actually lasts long and has a great projection and doesn’t smell generic and I smell huuuge potential here. This is perfect for people who usually enjoy heavy perfumes but want something fresher without loosing that je ne sais quoi. The more I smell it the better it gets, as a good perfume should. I am extremely impressed and satisfied with this blind buy. I have that rare urge to buy some back ups right away just in case. This scent is singing to my soul 🎶 Clementine and white florals and vanilla with coconut, all wrapped with a Montale bow on it. I mean what more could you ask for (if you already like Montale) it’s all there and I LOVE IT.

Oh my gosh, yes to the glossy magazine insert!!! There is that something airy about it that new glossy paper has. I do think this is unisex. I would love this on a man- so fresh, but I also like it for myself. I can also see another reviewers point about being sexy and trashy hahah there is something that’s really in your face about this fragrance with how strong it is and how it kind of really fills the nose (almost like the sensation of an astringent but this frag doesn’t smell like astringent) Oh and yes it does have a familiar montaleness to it. I really like this, I think this could be a versatile fragrance. It’s beautiful and strong and holds up to the weather and parties. I however do not get the oud other reviewers are mentioning.. the closest thing I detect is that bitter neroli mix with an ever so slight woodiness of sandalwood.

Big fan!! Upon spraying this on my skin, I can smell sweet, fresh/citrus, floral, and powdery accords. As it dries down, the fresh/citrus and floral accords fade, while the sweet and powdery accords develop. This fragrance is a warm and smooth gourmand with a soft sweetness and slight creaminess from the vanilla, coconut, sandlwood and tiare flower. The powdery finish makes this fragrance feel like a comforting, cozy, warm night by the fire sipping on hot coco with mini marshmallows. I see that others say it's perfect for summer - but because the fresh/citrus notes fade away quite quickly, the vanilla gourmand notes make it feel more like a fall or evening/night time fragrance for me. It's a bit too sweet and warm for the day time personally, but to each their own!

This is a perfect ‘easy reach’ in the high heat of late spring and summer. The overall feeling of Day Dreams is warm, fresh and tropical. It has a bright, zingy citrus opening. I get soft tropical white florals in the mid. The tiare is there, but it’s well balanced and doesn’t take over the scent. On my skin the base is dry coconut and creamy sandalwood. There is a tiny bit of a ‘dryer sheet’ aspect, but it’s not soapy or overpowering at all. While Day Dreams has the typical Montale DNA, it feels much less synthetic than most of their scents. It’s a very crowd pleasing perfume, and the performance is amazing for this scent profile. I get lots of compliments when I wear this, even from several feet away 6 hours after application.

A true testament to trusting your nose over the notes. 50% of the notes in this are notes I avoid like the plague, but I tested this at Sephora out of sheer curiosity and was immediately blown away. Tried a generous amount on skin and I haven’t been able to stop smiling for the last four hours. This is a sparkling fresh, clean, sweet floral. There is nothing indolic, animalic or heady about the florals and not a single solitary note stands out. It’s blended to utter perfection. There does seem to be a muskiness in the dry down... like a skin musk, that keeps the powderiness from being too much. This scent is perfection for me.

This is my second Montale (the first one being Dark Vanilla that turned my skin into smoked caramel glazed piece of ham...). I am truly impressed with this one. It's feminine and assertive. Sweet, but fresh at the same time. Sheer complexity of this fragrance will keep you captivated for hours. It is a head turner for sure and trust me- less is more in case of this potent beauty. I would say this is the second fragrance (after my beloved Issey Miyake le Feu d'Issey) that smells as expensive as it actually is. Longevity is also eternal for both- which is something you kind of expect from an expensive product.

Day Dreams for me was a love at first sniff kind of fragrance I remember opening up my Treasure Box and what immediately did I smell when I did? I smelt Day Dreams. Can I just say the longevity for me is around 12+ hours and sillage is around arms length but in public it's like a little scent bubble and it's heavenly and I've probably looked like a idiot wearing this smiling to myself and I'm still trying to put my finger on how to describe this one. I am planning to get a bigger bottle because I can't get enough of Day Dreams. Well done Montale you've got me hooked.

A wonderful day/summer perfume that does not have weak longevity/silliage and without it being nausiating. As a person that enjoys layering perfumes i enjoy having this as the the topping scent i think of it like a cherry on top. Though, this scent carries itself on its own beautifully. Not everyones cup of tea so I strongly reccommend you dont blind buy it. Projection, sillage, longevity : 9/10 Originality, presentation : 8.7/10 Quality, value : 7/10 Overall: 8.5/10

I have it for two days and did one puf on my hand , both times i cam smell it after 14h but is not that air filling after 6-7 hours i can smell it i i get closer .. but hey fr one puf is amazing ... remembers me of mancera auod orchid but higher on florals less in coconut, decent product amazing bottle , got it for around 60 euro on clearance 100ml🤣🥰 if u find it for the same price make sense to get it but for a lil more u can get an amazing fragrance from Montale

It is a bold perfume. The sillage and longevity are excellent. I love this scent for summer, it is sexy! I can smell Tiare, Blossom, Jasmine and Vanilla (zero coconut). Very feminine, the fragrance is linear. 9/10 In this brand, for spring and summer, I prefer: Love --> Diamont Flowers = Day Dreams > Sweet Peony > Pure Gold > Crystal Flowers > Diamond Greedy > Intense Tiaré > Roses Greedy > Pearl > Sicily <-- Dislike

This is beautiful. As soon as you spray it the scent explodes into the air & hits you with a cool sweet floral freshness. You can really smell the orange blossom & tiare. Sweet creamy white florals with an orange citrus zing. It starts to warm up as it settles & the sandalwood becomes more pronounced. Woody & smooth. This is a gorgeous scent for spring & summer. Perfect vacation scent. I love it.

I purchased this in a travel spray size to try it on. I spritzed all over and went on about my daily routine when my husband noticed the scent. He REALLY likes it! And that means a bunch. I'm going to keep using my travel size bottle before I go in for the big bottle. I want to be sure before I make the commitment to it. Hubby liking it puts it in the "plus" column. :>)

This stuff is the ultimate summer fragrance. Definitely leans feminine but a guy can absolutely wear this. I blind bought this with 0 regrets and found myself wearing it a ton this summer. It is great for outdoor activities like the pool, beach, or anywhere it has room to breathe. I'd go 1-2 sprays for the office. Projects like crazy and lasts forever on my skin.

it is interesting because each time i smell it i have an impression that it reminds me of smth i don't remember what exactly but i am really attracted to it, even tho many people find it quite generic and gloss magazine scent like staying power is great on clothes To me it's slightly powdery fruity jasmine scent

I do like this fragrance. Not love. It’s pleasant enough. But nothing spectacular. A good Spring/Summer daytime scent. Tropical and a bit fuzzy almost,.. reminds me of a designer perfume.....a few sprays in warmer weather should be good or else it can choke you out...It’s ok. Idk if I’d repurchase this though.

Solid fragrance for both men and women but i would describe it as more feminine. I as a man would still wear it though. It is really floral and sweet and the mandarinorange doesn't really pop as much as i want it to. It lasts the whole day and projection is quite good. Would reccomend.

Summer in a bottle! Such a mood lifter in this cold weather, and the performance is amazing. Nothing special or groundbreaking but most fragrances aren’t groundbreaking or special. This will be my go-to perfume for summer. Leans feminine but a man could certainly pull it off.

Its amazing, a very fresh almost tropical but not that "car air-freshener tropical" like most of the fragrances with coconut in it, its smells natural and uplifting. I think even men can wear it but it leans slightly to the feminine direction.

As a man i can most definitely say that this perfume is for men and women. When i put this on i feel so fresh and it smells incredible. If you are a dude who's looking for a bold, fresh, sweet and long lasting perfume. Get it!

According to its notes, daydreams shall work well with bath and body works sweet tropical vanilla lotion. The lotion smells like candy corn to me and my friend, so it will add a little buttery sweetness to the indolic perfume

Honestly, this is one of the best montale. If you want to smell clean, and charming this ones for you. Perfectly unisex.

I completely agree with what bourcet said that this smells like a glossy magazine insert. The moment I applied this, I was brought back to reading magazines in the mid 2000s, smelling the perfume inserts in there and thinking they smelled so fresh and pretty and cool, and the subsequent nice glossy pages having that kind of fresh perfumed scent to them as well. In that sense it's "generic" smelling, but somewhat nostalgic. It's synthetic smelling, but still nice. I think it's the orange blossom that I really smell. There isn't too much else I have to say besides that it's generically very nice- a fresh, light floral with orange. It's uplifting, happy, sunny, and pretty. 25 minutes later and I don't feel it's changed *too* terribly much. It feels like mostly orange blossom, neroli, and a bit of jasmine. So citrusy still with some white floral. Under this, I smell a very slight tropical undertone, with some tiare and maybe vanilla and coconut, but it is very faint and hardly there on me. This does not scream "tropical" to me at all, if that's what you want right off the bat, at least on me. It is nice still, but does seem a bit "cheap" smelling, or a more standard designer scent. 40 minutes later and it smells more like vanilla and sandalwood, but still has the light fresh citrusy floral tone to it. The sandalwood is creamy and spicy and vanilla adds a bit more body to it. There's also a hint of dry, unsweetened coconut. 1.5 hours later and it's a lot more vanilla. It also has a certain sense of cleanness and freshness. This is a pretty unisex smell at this point, though projection has gone down to nearly a skin scent. I'll see how long this lasts Nearing the 2 hour mark, this gets veerrryyy musky on me, almost sweaty. Musk isn't listed on here, but I looked it up and other sites do list this as having musk in the base. I don't mind musk, but if you do, do be aware it may come on strong. I thought I smelt it a bit throughout my wear as well, but it's just now very much in the forefront. 5 hours later, it's still a musky vanilla scent and can still be smelt decently on the skin, but there is not projection otherwise. 11 hours later and it's gone. The last several hours I've honestly forgotten I've worn it, but on the skin you could still smell some vanilla and musk, but only with my nose directly to my skin.

Personal: 7/10 - It's fine. Sweet, creamy white florals aren't my thing, but I like it. Mass appeal: 8/10 – Citrus and sweet, vanillic white florals are super safe. Performance: 7.5/10 – Surprisingly strong for such a sweet/fresh DNA. Value: 5/10 – Montale pricing is okay, but this is more designer than niche. Uniqueness: 6/10 – It smells nice, but nothing new. Citrusy vanilla neroli freshies are everywhere. But props for making it so long lasting. SCORE: 67/100 Full bottle buy? NO, it’s pleasant but redundant with other sweet white florals. Blind buy? YES, safe enough if you like citrus-vanilla freshies that are floral. Recommend? YES, if you want a louder, longer-lasting summer freshie. Date night? NO, too bright and sweet. Not seductive. May work for summertime. Office safe? YES, clean and cheerful, but spray lightly. Vanilla and citrus are loud. Pros: Easy to wear, cheerful citrus, white floral, and vanilla. Solid performance. Cons: Generic, redundant, leans juvenile. Not niche-feeling at all. This isn't quite what I'm used to seeing from Montale. It's not very dark, or oud forward, rather it's not oudy at all. It's a bright, sweet, summery citrus with vanilla and lots of soft white florals. It feels VERY designer, though. Montale usually puts out something that's kind of niche smelling, but safe for niche, and this one just feels straight off the Sephora shelf. It's not bad, by any means, but it's not what I would expect from a niche lite brand like Montale. It's fine, but not memorable, and definitely a bit boring. I want to smell like a feminine flower, take me! You got it! Testing blind this opened up quite joyous and wonderfully floral, feminine, and can I say yummy? Not in a “this is sweet” way, but in a “I want her” way? Desire is what you can't have and in my existence on this earth, those who wear this fragrance authentically and naturally wonderfully evade my existence. At least I can dream, or at least smell it on myself, should I need to. While I purposely pick up unisex fragrances, occasionally something specifically feminine makes it into the pile, and even if this smells like half a dozen others I've never (and will never) smell, this one has my imagination, and that's all that matters. Unfortunately, that fantasy fades as the fragrance loses its initial opening character and lands in a familiar - yet quite nice - white floral. Looking at the notes now after a full day of embracing my more feminine side, nothing is surprising except for the coconut, which does add a tiny hint of milkiness in the mid-body, but don't think this is a coconut fragrance. It's barely noticeable. Similar is the sandalwood and vanilla, playing small supporting roles, but mainly staying out of the picture. I imagine this is mostly Tiare flower as the jasmine and other notes feel more contributing than a central figure. Like most new relationships, the beginning is always the sweetest, but while this changes a little it has longevity and projection going for it, offering a definite feminine aura to day dream to, and at this price point, day dream I will.

Day Dreams is sweet, floral with a bit of the Montale DNA and at the same time refreshing and very likable. Opens with a white floral bomb with a little bit citrus. It's sweet and creamy, slightly dense, synthetic like most if not all Montale fragrances but not in a bad way. I see why people say it's a good summer fragrance, while it's sweet and slightly dense it still has a cool aspect to it. As it dries down, it becomes creamier, more powdery and you start getting more of that Montale DNA. I'm fairly positive that there are some notes that aren't listed. Overall this is a cozy, comforting, casual feeling scent that leans very feminine and can be worn in many different weathers/occasions. A very safe offering from Montale.. I don’t find a lot of people not liking this one. Has a very pleasant fruity floral opening that you’d find put out by a mainstream designer. That might be the where the problem lies with some who wants mainstream when they’re paying for high quality.. but though Montales done this beautifully enough I think it could be overlooked. It’s a great inoffensive summer freshie that can be worn in office or a night on the town. IMO I think it’s leans slightly more to the feminine (coming from a gay man) I have no problem with that, definitely think even the most masculine of men could pull this of he’s daring enough or hey just doesn’t give a s*** and just likes a nice fresh fruity floral. I liked this one and so did my moms and feel it suited her more so I passed my sample onto her, definitely think this be a nice Xmas gift idea.

While not groundbreaking, Montale's Day Dreams is lovely. This is a soft, inviting and pleasing summer scent, It makes you want to smile. This fragrance is a light, smooth and creamy with coconut, soft vanille and plenty of while florals, thats about it. Definitely unisex, perfect on a man and woman. As a man, i have no problem wearing this and some even describe it as masculine leaning. Good performance for a summer scent, good projection which isnt annoying or offensive to anyone, and will last the whole working day. Overall, this fragrance is nice. Soft, pleasing, sweet an creamy. Lovely for summer.

This reminds me of a clean and fresh pool without chlorine. Like a subtly sweet sunscreen that stars the tiare flower. I don't smell much coconut except for hours later into the dry down. This lasts extremely long on my skin around an entire day and has 4-6 ft of projection on me. Overall it's a pleasant scent for the summer and good to layer with other scents. A bit one dimensional since most of the other notes take a back seat but it's still worth having it in my collection. I can't wait to wear this during the summer!!!!

Day Dreams is great for summer. It is lightly citrus at the top, slightly tropical, white floral, kinda perfume-y (Someone said below "glossy magazine insert." That is a good way to put it. Perfume-y doesn't mean gma or dated. It means its noticeably perfume like = perfume-y. IYKYK) It is nice. very long lasting, but it doesn't WOW me. I can see it as an easy reach for all occasions. (does not smell like Intense Cafe at all and doesn't resemble Mancera Holidays)

A simple, fresh fragrance that brings joy, wonderful for those who love flowery perfumes.

How anyone can describe the scent as masculine is beyond me. It is NOT fresh either, it's extremely white floral. Not much citrus going on. Vanilla is more prominent than the coconut and sandalwood gets strong with time. Two sprays are an overkill for me, one is plenty. Hopefully it stays sufferable in summer heat, as I bought it blindly specifically for summer. The sillage will take some getting used to.

I’ve never found a white floral or citrus to last this long or project this well. Many say it’s generic but I think it’s unique enough due the longevity and sillage, especially if you can snag it on sale. It will shine/ develop in the summer heat and think the 20ml will last me through the entire season. Happy with this one ☀️ but I’m still looking for my fresh white floral white whale

Not too bad, a nice rotation for hot weather perfumes. You need to really like white flowers, jasmine and Neroli. Powerful at first spray...I don't find it as gourmand as I do floral. Personally I loved the dry down of coconut and musky sandalwood, hints of vanilla peeping through. One of the Montales I like to layer with another parfum, something a little more vanilla and sweeter.

Day Dreams to me smells generic and synthetic. I can't say any more than it lacks anything special. It is pleasant enough for day time wear to work or out in nice weather. It lacks pizzaz for me. You could find something very similar at the drugstore. I can't even find something similar to compare as these type of scents do nothing for me. I am lucky I only bought a decant.

The initial spray of this was sharp and cheap like rubbing alcohol, but it quickly faded into a more subtle, natural fragrance. The white florals seem to completely overpower the citrus notes, but they smell good. I would have sworn there was a caramel note in here, but perhaps it's just the mix of vanilla and coconut giving me that creamy vibe. It's a like, not a love.

Sadly I only get white floral notes when I wear this. I bought 2 sample sets from Montale and so far have liked them all. This one smells like a one trick pony though. I dont get the coconut or vanilla or orange notes sadly. I'll still use it though.

I find this incredibly boring, safe, but nice. Safe blind buy if you like soft white florals. I don't get much citrus. I got it for a very good price, I would definitely not pay full price for this one!

Great fresh fragrance of you like white florals, smell fresh and just a touch sweet. Leans ever so slightly feminine but still can be worn by confident men.

This smells like a month-long vacation on a yacht! It is such a luxurious white floral. I expected Soleil Blanc to smell like this. A big win for Montale!

Smells nice. As a man i wouldn't wear it, smells too feminine. Dont get coconut but the jasmine and neroli are very plesant

Given a sample by someone saying this was unisex. Opening was harsh. The first 10 minutes are abrasive on the nostrils. Then the creamy vanilla makes an appearance with a subtle touch of orange in the background. Lots of floral notes intertwining. Plenty of top and middle order happening. Not picking up any coconut or sandalwood during the dry down. And that’s where it stays for me. That and the fact this is definitely a feminine scent. Sweet and florally. Not bad. Not Pierre’s finest moment either. Middle of the road.

Like Unruly Julie below, I also get a huge ISO-E scent with Day Dreams — like rubbing alcohol mixed with flowers; I can still smell it on my skin 16+ hours later. It’s got a real punch when you put it on — I expected it would be much softer than it was. I don’t think I’d hate it on someone else, but it doesn’t check any of the obvious boxes for me (sweet vanilla or creamy white floral) so I will pass the sample along.

This is my first time testing Montale perfumes, and this one was a bit of a letdown. Admittedly, this was a bit of a long shot for me anyways, given the scent profile - something a bit different for me to try. I can appreciate the notes, but it didn't wow me. It's sort of meh.. probably lovely for spring/summer, but nothing that leaves me wanting to try it again—looking forward to my other testers, though.

Montale Day Dreams is pretty, opening up with bright, orangey citrus and creamy tiare. If only this opening would continue -- though I notice that other Fragranticans had the opposite reaction here, and were happy when this opening dissipated. Day Dreams dries down in a pretty but, to my nose, at least, very basic and boring jasmine-neroli scent. Nice but nothing amazing,
