Embruns d'Essaouira

C'est un parfum aquatique a l'Orientale, aromatique et légèrement épicé a la fois, sincèrement, il est un peu unique dans son genre... Le coté santal lui donne un aspect très spécial vue qu'il vous mène vers un autre coté du parfum est qui est la splendeur et la générosité d'oud et ses dérivés... Mais il reste frais à mon goût de toute façon. Une longévité bonne (entre 4 à 7 h) avec une projection modérée le design des Montale sont toutes des Must Have à mon avis, il faudrait collectionner toutes les couleurs afin d'avoir une collection bien colorée.

i had a sample that 1st smelled more masculine cologne in category leau merveilles blue hermes but not as beautiful at it. After a year , I found that sample and turned into beautiful leau dissey pour femme less sweeter in the dry down, but so so beautiful as I remembered it was in 2000s! Thanks that I didnt rebuy yet leau dissey pour femme wich I was was looking for last summer, but didnt know if it was reformulated or not! TX Montale for this gem❤

This is a unique spring/summer fragrance. Yes, it's aquatic but has a very special santal and spices mix. Cannot be easily described but certainly is worth the effort to obtain a sample. It could be polarizing, some people may not like it; for me it's extraordinary. Don't forget, most Montale fragrances seem meant to be smelled by people around the wearer, not by the wearer him/herself.

this is my summer high heat fragrance. if citrus frags aren't your bag, give this a try for the warm seasons. "sea spray of essaouira", a moroccan coastal town, is an appropriate name. I imagine walking along a coastal beach with salt spray and an overcast sky. there's also a creamy undertone I attribute to the sandalwood accord. respectable longevity for this type.

Very salty and simultaneously spicy and woody scent. This is an unique fragrance for the spring/summer rainy days!

Montale fragrances can be a hit or miss for me because all too often they feature a sharp muskiness that does not agree with me. However, I am glad that this is not the case with Embruns d‘Essaouira. The aquatic notes are smooth and very well balanced with the woody ones. Right after spraying, I can smell the sandalwood and I also believe to smell some vanilla and ylang ylang. Further into the drydown, the sandalwood disappears and the woody note reminds me more of cedar. Besides the woody and marine notes, I still believe to smell some vanilla once dried down... I really like the smooth character of this fragrance. The aquatic notes tend to remind me of perfumes marketed to men, but as a woman, this does not bother me. All in all, this is one of the best Montale fragrances that I have smelled so far!

Weird fragrance indeed. I can sense aquatic notes the most in it. It's very masculine but in a fresh way. Not too musky in my opinion, but there's some spicy notes lingering around. I think it's a little bit pleasant, but I wouldn't wear it myself, because, it's so weird and masculine.

I like it. Aquatic scent for summer days with a twist. Interesting.

Spicy Aquatic. This is one of the rare occasions in which the community seems to be in universal agreement on how this fragrance smell. Fresh, aquatic, slightly sweet sea water note. Spiced up with spices and a touch of sandalwood and musk give a very light woody aspect and a little more character. Fresh, aquatic, mildly-sweet, lightly spicy, and slightly woody. It does come out a little shampoo-y and generic. One might draw a comparison to the smell of classic deodorants. I, also, agree that it smells similar to Issey Miyake's classic L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme from 1994. A straightforward, pleasant, easy-to-wear fragrance. Suitable for warm weather. Unisex but leans more masculine. "Like"

This is a thing I didn't think existed: a salt bomb. It's more like a tsunami than sea spray, extremely strong, slightly on the nauseating side at first sniff, it definitely leans, er... on the bodily side. But it softens into something very soapy, woody and quite pleasant, with a floral-leaning musk. Think very waxy soap-washed bodies after a day swimming in the sea. It's not a "clean" aquatic but a heavy, musky, layered aquatic that won't be to everyone's taste. It's not for the faint hearted but could be very beautiful to the right nose.

Difficult to create an "aquatic" fragrance but different from the others in circulation. They all look the same. Even "Embruns d'Essaouira" does not escape the criticism that, although interesting is the presence of sandalwood to temper the marine notes, it is a little déjà vu. Anyway to try.

This appears to be one of the more obscure Montale offerings, perhaps because of the unpronounceable and incomprehensible name. "Embruns" means "sea spray", and Essaouira is a coastal city in Morocco. The name sets us up already for something along the lines of Comptoir Sud Pacifique Aqua Motu or Eau des Lagons. What I find is that Embruns d'Essaouira is a cousin to Hermès Terre d'Hermès--against all expectations. To my nose these fragrances share the same "clean soil" feeling. Some reviewers are describing the scent of Embruns d'Essaouira as that of salt, but to me there is a lot of overlap with the flintiness of Terre. Both of these fragrances are difficult for me to say much about because they have a nasal-clearing effect upon me, inducing a type of olfactory fatigue within a few minutes of application, to the point where I cannot really figure out what I am smelling anymore. The opening of this unique composition bears comparison to Lalique Encre Noire (pour lui), but there is no blue ink here, so I assume that the tie that binds all three of these fragrances together is iso-E-super: the radiance maker. Once I recover my ability to smell again, I feel that there are some green elements in Embruns as well, but what is altogether missing is any of the sweaty muskiness of Aqua Motu, and for that I am grateful. This is a clean seaside scent, fully unisex and perfect for hot weather such as we have been having lately. I can wear this fragrance and dream that I am in Essaouira. Or maybe I should just go to Boston Harbor?

I am a bit surprised by the negative reviews here... My first encounter with this fragrance was a store in Vancouver in 2013. We were trying out fragrances in a niche store and came across this - my girlfriend at the time immediately took a liking to it. It was still a bit expensive as an impulse buy so I held off buying it until a few years ago. This is L'eau De Issey perfected, excellent performance smooth aquatic notes beautiful vanilla and sandalwood, and lasts all day long. You feel wonderful wearing it, very uplifting and classy.

Bought a sample of this and glad I did not buy a whole bottle.Lasts a long time but definately salty,clears your sinuses for the first hour in not a very pleasant way.Get the sandalwood and spice in the drydown,would say that a woman wouldnt enjoy this. My opinion,after 1hr o.k,after 2 hrs better.my rating out of 10 is 6 just for lasting ability but If worn on a regular basis I am sure that those around you wouldnt say "You smell Nice" ?

Don’t be fooled by the packaging- this scent is class in a bottle. Honestly this is such a gentleman’s smell (in my opinion). Pungent Marin accord that just wraps up your senses and the the deep woody spicy notes materialise and the notes altogether are so harmonious. Best to wear in summer it will make you feel like your wearing all white while standing on a boat.

This is the most salty scent I ever smelled, with woodsy and spicy notes, it is very light and good for vacations.
