Herbal Aquatica

This is a summer banger which is is spearheaded by a sweet fruity but fresh bergamot.Which is very juicy bright and lumious this is accentuated by the mint and sage. Then the sea notes come in with the lotus giving an airy almost aldehydic quality this is then married with a subtle smokey woodies and sweetness.However these are never overbearing and the freshness is never lost.This is a great fragrance with an apt name. The issue is its lost in the oversaturation that is clearly Montales business model.I truly think they need to reign in the amount of releases they do.As alot of their great fragrances are lost in the pack so I think they just need to keep the classics and streamline.They are however better than many other houses that get more hype looking at you Creed!!

Sampled after hearing it was "a better version of Erba Pura". I have Amber Oud Gold as well as a decant of Erba Pura, and enjoy them both. Trying Herbal Aquatica, I was blown away. Fresher, smoother, and less of the sharp synthetic notes that are objectively the worst part of Erba Pura. Still sweet but much less-so. When I got it in and sprayed my decant of Herbal Aquatica, I knew I had to buy it. When I did so and opened my box to spray it, this frag instantly jumped towards the top of my collection, and has since battled its way to my favorite fragrance that I own. Performance is what you'd expect with Pierre Montale's work, which is to say, stellar. This fragrance is all-around one of three 10/10's in my collection.

the notes seem very wrong to my nose but when i think about it more, they do make sense. i thought its a very herbal, sickly sweet scent but i was wrong. the caramel mixed with green notes result in some sweet fruit, reminds me of mangos or papayas. this scent is heavy on caramel, tea and mint to my nose. i ABSOLUTELY adore it and its my number 2 of this perfumer (1 is intense cedrat boise) even after trying nearly all of his creations. such a nice, strong (fruity too?) summer scent, which can also be rocked in warmer winter days as the caramel carries a warm sweetness and the strong performance even cuts through cold air. thank you montale for this scent!

Beautiful nice clean smell. Big emphasis on CLEAN smell. Kind of reminiscent of detergent but better. A nice caramel undertone in the dry down. Very aquatic true to name and true to scent profile. This is the cleanest, freshest fragrance in the montale line for me. Unisex BUT a tiny bit on the feminine side. Lasts long and can put up a fight in the heat of summer still providing you with it’s true scent in the warmest of temperatures. Montale hit hard with this one . Great job by the line. Office friendly if you’re not heavy with the sprays. Great for daytime wear.

I was thinking I would like this more for my husband but after smelling a sample, I want it for me! To me, this is the most shampoo like scent I’ve ever smelled. Like my ideal “fresh out of the shower” fragrance. When I smell this I think of a misty, long haired, sea siren just coming out of the water for a breather. Absolutely stunning. I can’t say I’ve ever smelled anything like this! Love love love for summer time. Cant wait to wear on a date night where we’ll be spending time outside this summer.

I have to disagree with the people who dislike this perfume because to me, it’s a great, long lasting and fresh scent that by just sniffing it can give you an uplifting feeling. This is such a great summer frangance that if you sweat, I guarantee that you will still smell like if you just got out of the shower. Just don’t over do it though because it is strong so 2, max 3 sprays will set you up for the day and after lol. Have fun with this fragrance!

It will be a classic introduction, but unlike its counterparts like Erba Pura and Kirke, I can easily say that this perfume can be used for a much longer time, and can be preferred in every situation and on every occasion. The sweetness and fruitiness are beautifully balanced with green notes in this perfume, and the longevity is also very high. A quality scent in its own class that can be noticed by everyone around you.

Great fragrance to which I seem to go nose blind after a few hours, but others still react to it. A young woman recently said, "You smell hella good." This happened eight hours after application, which surprised me so much that I stumbled over a reaction🤪 I think this is a year round fragrance with lighter application in warm seasons.

I received a sample as a gift and fell in love. This is my fragrance 100 percent. Very refreshing, I don't understand the negative reviews written here. The smell is not sweet, more like fresh forest, grass after the rain. I would say an exotic, fresh and unobtrusive smell.

This is fantastic it's everything you want in a summer scent fruity fresh green aquatic lightly soapy sweet all in one.Theres a tropical note in this that's unlisted Mango/Guava like but not overdone femine or childish this is top top juice especially for spring/summer.

This one of the best fresh offerings from this great house and its entirely unique. It may have some aspects in common with other scents, but not as a holistic composition this is great for year round but best for spring and summer.

actually an excellent fresh fragrance from montale, lasts up to 7-9hrs, good projection, perfect for summer and spring, i'd even say for summer nights where it's extremely hot like in mid july or august

This is stunning very unisex mass appealing but not run of the mill perfectly balanced this is a 9/10 fragrance no to ways about it its fun easy to wear will get compliments and is quite unique.

smells like a more masculine erba pura

I sprayed this on and it was immediately familiar but I couldn't place it. Now I see Erba Pura as the number one comparison and it makes sense. After about 30-45 minutes it's transitions to something closer to Acqua Motu from Comptoir, or Montale Sand Flowers. It smells like beach sand on the shore. I like it but it's not in the class with other niche marine aquatics like DS Durga Rockaway Beach, Acqua Di Sale, Erolfa, Atlantide, etc. However, that doesn't mean it's bad, I quite like it. This one is easier to wear for the average person and will smell good to most people I think. Should be considered for a beginner or someone just looking for a single aquatic or marine scent to round out their collection/selection. -------------------------------------------- Scent 70/100 Performance TBD

Many similarities with Erba pura and yet different, a little sweeter, fresher and maybe (for some) a little more sensual. For me, Erba pura is more for a classier occasion, like... eating out in a (fancy) restaurant. I find Herbal aquatica more for going out, like...disco, cinema (if that make any sense) in any case I find them both smell very good. In short my openion; Erba pura = (good looking) confident gentelman en Herbal Aquatica the younger (knowing) goodlooking cousin. I hope it is of some use for you. it’s a very beautiful fragrance that’s missing some notes on fragrantica for example in the opening, it’s definitely missing some peach or guava note but after around 30 minutes, it goes into the super green, herbal dry down that lasts about an hour, and I’m not the biggest fan, but after that, it dries down even more to this tea, relaxing sent and it’s just very beautiful I would give this fragrance four out of five.

A sweet, fresh, green and aquatic fragrance that I believe is perfect for spring and summer. The performance is nice and the smell is to die for. It's similar to Erba Pura and has that shower gel smell but I think it's more masculine compared to it.

The opening is a very pretty, feminine, watery floral, a little like fabric softener. Then is shifts into a sweet marine note that is quite masculine. It's giving me gender whiplash. I'm not sure that was the intention, but it's kind of interesting!

Very Montale in the DNA but it's got no sillage on my skin during the winter unfortunately, which is when I'm receiving the sample as a gift 😅 gotta be patient, maybe I'll spray fabric or wait until it's warmer next time I try it

This is erba pura done right. Not overly cloying, sweet or synthetic. It simply smells fresh, fruity and sweet. Nothing too crazy. It's a very pleasant scent I may consider buying. Nice scent. 8/10

Very nice fragrance, although maybe it’s just on my skin but it goes away really fast unlike all the other Montale Fragrances I have tried.

This is my second and last Montale fragrance. I thought this wasn't a bad blind buy after hearing only positive things about it online. When i first smelled it it was ok. Nothing special but atleast something fresh and summery as expected. I gave it a chance and the dry down doesn't work for me. The caramel in the drydown completely ruins the fragrance and makes it non wearable on a hot summer day.

Do not expect Erba Pura or Kirke from this, those votes are very misleading. I was gifted this unexpectedly, and it's an okay fragrance, kind of a mixture of things you wouldn't expect to be put together. Definitely herbal with minty undertones (sort of like Jägermeister has a minty undertone), and slightly creamy, sandalwoody. Not very strong overall, it seems, but a unique, pleasant scent.

I really wanted to like this perfume, but I can't. It's an Ok scent, but something about the aquatic notes mixed with the caramel/vanilla notes throws me off. After a while the scent dries down to a very dull salty but sweet scent. I wear this scent occasionally, but it doesn't grow into my liking It also gives me a slight headache every time I wear it. Overall, I would rate this fragrance a 4.5/10.

This is a sweet mess for women, i can ́t see a man wearing this.I get the erba pura similarities, but erba pura(not a fan of erba pura) is better than this synthetic mishmash.I don ́t get anything green or aquatic in here, it ́s just a weird sweet lolipop smell.

I absolutely hate this thing. You don't know vile until you've experienced Montale's Herbal Aquatica. I thoroughly enjoyed it for the first hour or so. It starts off very familiar, a scent reminiscent of 2000s unisex freshies but with more depth. Overall, the name is pretty straightforward - the scent is herbal and marine, rich and pleasant albeit not very feminine since whatever sweet notes it has, they are completely dominated by the green, spicy and woody ones. But shortly after you apply it, it turns into a classic cologne, making it unsuitable for a woman unless she intends to smell outright manly. Scrub it off before it's too late because the closer to the base, the more it turns indescribably disgusting and horrendously bitter with a hint of rust and something out-of-this-world repelling. Acidic ambrocenide I reckon. But the worst thing? It is very strong, so strong that if it accidentally comes in contact with your clothes even just for a little bit, you'll NEVER get rid of it and all the clothes hanging near the tainted piece will take on the stench as well. I only sprayed it one time on my arm and the sleeve of my shirt still smells of it after having been through washing machine and washed by hand twice, after a very strong liquid laundry detergent and soap and shampoo and acidic strong fabric softener. It just persists. The base here truly is the odor of my nightmares. I'll take all Flowerbombs and all L'Interdits over this because whatever I thought I hated before simply pales in comparison with the abomination that is Herbal Aquatica (Kirke, Erba Pura, etc). This fragrance is a crime against humanity.

I'm very confused reading about this scent. I get a sample from Montale and just instantly felt in love with this. Why am I confused? Because for me it's the most woody scent I can imagine...for me it's mostly wood, timber, oak, or any other just cut piece of tree...cedar, sandalwood. It's absolutely amazing...there's also a bit of marine , salty water hint, some grass maybe, but wood is enormous and covers all of the rest. Longevity and projection of this is just crazy. I used that sample for the last time, when on holiday which was 5 moths ago. Couple days ago I was swapping my clothing in a wardrobe, from summer ones, for a winter stuff. I grabbed one of my t-shirts, which was after the laundry and was just in a wardrobe for a months. Found the lovely smell, just when took it out and recognised it is herbal aquatica. Standing strong on a washed t-shirt fot a few months in a wardrobe. Amazing...there's some negative about this also. It is so strong, that gives headache my wife and she says can't stand it. But on the other hand I get a lot of compliments at work, while wearing that. Another one is, I do not smell it while wearing that too much, but smell out of a clothing which were affected by this...anyway for me it's completely different thing, than the one described here. Have to purchase a bottle eventually and check if the sample they sent me is not confused with some other montale scent...

i'll just tell you my experience. went to neiman to purchase a new mancera, told the lady i wanted fresh, so she shows me sweet, deep, moody fragrance after sweet deep moody fragrance and im like....lady i want fresh, i own too many dark oud frags i need something bright. so i tried montale's herbal aquatica and the opening was like :0 oh that's it! so i purchased it, under immense pressure from this lady. i really liked how it went from mint to caramel, i love a journey so i wore it to work tonight and every single person was like "hey man, that shit is sincerely awful" and what a great experience to have with a newly purchased 200 dollar frag. i personally see why someone could hate this, i wish the opening was the whole fragrance but it's not, it is synthetic lollipop weirdness. i don't even know how to use this like is this a gym frag? heat seems to make it weirder and worse, is it an extreme cold weather scent? i don't even know. fuck montale

Not an aquatic fragrance at all, the mint over the green tea can feel aquatic, but it's not. It gets creamy/ ambery and semi sweet in the dry down, while the tea/ mint continues. Very fresh and clean choice, casual wear to smart casual but can't be dressed up to my taste. Good for a relaxed day or just as an every day fragrance. It doesn't get too sweet so don't let the caramel scare you. Certainly a summer fragrance. In colder days it won't shine.

Nothing like Erba Pura. I have both. Not sure where the comparison comes from. This one is one of the few wearable scents from Montale that is actually pleasant. Montale in general is very overrated and for the most part unwearable and headache inducing with some fragrances being flat out nasty.

I had previously said this reminded of torino 21 and I was wayyyyy off. I think i was just smelling the torino on my other wrist because i tried this one by myself and honestly no one around me enjoyed it, I really didnt either. It was too "perfumy" for me. Ill be passing on this one.

this fragrance is bad af, smells at least 80% like mancera jardin exclusif, only the opening is different. there is no mint, aquatic notes etc
