Intense Cafe

Smells just like Cafe Rose by Tom Ford, which is the perfume that kick started my most recent perfume adventures. Lasts FOR EV ER. I haven't smelled Roses Vanille, but I assume it has roses and vanilla as the dominant notes. This is mostly roses and coffee. Its a dark rose....not a tea rose not a jammy rose. I've been searching for a roses and coffee perfume that isn't a $350 2.5oz Tom Ford for a while now and this smells just like that one I can't believe its not in the "smells like" section yet. The rose in it is the same kind that's in Atomic Rose and Infini Rose too but instead of vanilla and pink pepper you get coffee in there with the vanilla and no pink pepper instead. Those smell most similar to this to me. But the best thing for me is that Montale really knows how to make ALL his perfumes last and project much better than all 3 of those that I have smelled. You'll smell like a rose latte until you wash this off. I'm so done with perfumes I have to keep topping off throughout the day. Why are most perfumes now lacking so badly in longevity and sillage compared to 80s 90s and early 2000s perfumes?! It's ridiculous. Back then they used to make a perfume with such good sillage and projection, I'd have to spray it in the air and walk through it. Now I have to spray it directly on myself and even then, it's a ghost after 4-6 hours. Anyway, I love the Intense Cafe. If you like the queen of flowers this is definitely one to consider for your collection if you don't have TF Cafe Rose.

Yes, I am going to be obnoxious this summer and wear this out and about. It’s beautiful, but honey it is l o u d!! This perfume is precious. Precious. Where has this been all my life? This perfume is gourmand, powdery and rosy, sharp, and very warm. Like an incense that’s constantly burning in the background. It is so gosh darn beautiful. I will say this perfume is sticky. Think of syrupy roses. There’s a hospital-like smell that kind of pierces your nose, but fret not, as it is only the amber and coffee settling. Overall, I can describe this as sipping smooth espresso while sitting in a dark room with the smell of rose incense burning, along with fresh roses by the bedside. You sniff the sweet roses, sip your espresso, than catch a whiff of the smoke. This perfume isn’t complicated, per se. It just has too many perfectly blended notes that happen to show up all at once. I mean, you immediately get the coffee, amber, and vanilla rose. It packs a punch. However, it is soooo ethereal. This might sound weird but this reminds me of growing up catholic? Like, it reminds me of praying the rose petal rosary I had. Wearing white, sitting at the foot of my bed praying, the candles, the silence, the rose beaded rosary. It smells like youth, innocence, nostalgia, yet something that’s beautiful that can’t yet rebel. It’s totally a gourmand and I would repurchase this in every lifetime.

Massive compliment getter, if you use it right. I hated it at first, it was unwearable and gave me a headache so it stayed on the shelf. Few years later, I rediscovered yet - my nose changed, and I think the perfume in the bottle did as well. The scent was less chemical, more mature with greater depth and complexity, like a bottle of aged cognac. It’s rose forward with a lot of coffee, but not a fresh rose - this is jammy and sticky, like a rose preserve. On the skin it goes through multiple stages, from intense pungent rose with strong coffee notes, to a powdery and milky gourmand, and finally a dessert with the rose a background singer, like the aftertaste of gulab jamun if you had it with a cup of cappuccino. It is however beast mode and requires careful application- I find one spritz on the back of the neck, OR on the inner corner of the elbows is the perfect way to use it. It’s noticeable, sweet but subtle, and still manages to leave a beautiful trail without nauseating people around you. Avoid on clothes because it will not come off until you wash, and never more than 1-2 spritz on the body. This is surprisingly good for layering, since the intensity and depth makes for a good base layer, I top it off with spicy scents that can cut through some of that overpowering sweetness, like something with cloves or cardamom.

I’m not usually a believer in macerating perfumes, but this one might have changed my mind. When I first got it in October 24, my experience with it was just an overpowering sticky sweet rose with nothing much else going for it. There was a fleeting coffee note that barely lasted 10 mins and then it was just dark dense roses. It was a little off putting at the time, so I put it aside and almost forgot about it. Yesterday (31/12/24) I noticed it on the shelf and took it out for spin.... And boy was I blown away! Age and maceration seems to have finessesd the blend of elements in this composition revealing the full intent of the perfumer. You get the florals with the rose in the open before the coffee makes it’s presence known within the first few minutes, and when it does you get the essence of this fragrance in all it’s glory: a beautiful milky coffee in a cloud of vibrant roses, transporting you to streetside cafes in spring where you sip a rose latte as you watch the world go by. It’s a bold but casual fragrance in my opinion. Suitable for cooler evenings and less formal settings. It’s great for a night out for dinner or the theatre. I wouldn’t recommend this for the office or for serious engagements. Lasts a good 6-8 hours on skin, maybe 12 hrs on clothes. Good value for money at it’s price point.

I ordered the mini 20ml bottle as part of the “My Little Treasure Box” direct from the Montale website. I have not given this fragrance any time to macerate so this opinion is initial first application only at the time being. When I first sprayed this I was definitely unsure and it was honestly quite obnoxious. I immediately get hit with a very slight coffee note and an intense rose - it actually made me think of sipping on a sweet coffee and eating Turkish delights. Unfortunately the slight coffee note disappears almost immediately and you have left an overwhelming musky floral rose. It’s not my typical fragrance as I’m not a huge rose lover but I also couldn’t stop sniffing? The dry down is where this fragrance really shines though!! The obnoxious rose fades into such a beautiful sweet rose. Overall this is a VERY feminine musky floral fragrance with a hint of vanilla at the dry down. If you are expecting a coffee note - this ain’t ya gal. If you want a beautiful classy sweet rose, she’s definitely ya gal! Is it the type of fragrance you could wear every day? No. Probably not. I can see this definitely being a perfect fragrance for a formal setting. I certainly would not call this a gourmand fragrance either as there are no lasting gourmand notes and is straight up floral!

I had a sample of this for ages and had not given it a proper test until I was inspired by Sebastian (The Perfume Guy) raving about it as one of his favorite coffee scents. I have hundreds of samples and have been on a major sample testing kick recently, finding myself frequently disappointed, bored and just ambivalent about a lot of the fragrances I try. Then comes Montale Intense Cafe. L-O-V-E!!! It's robust, without knocking you over the head (but like Sebastian, I have no problem with beast mode, and this goes in that direction but I don't find it overly so), with deep rose and coffee notes and a milky twist that blend so beautifully together with the perfect amount of detectable sillage and impressive longevity. I love that I can spray this on and have it accompany me throughout the day without it becoming tiresome or annoying. This perfume has a very distinct personality and would definitely not be for everyone, especially those leery of the stronger perfumes, but I am absolutely enamored by it and adoring the way it wears in cooler weather. I probably wouldn't go near this one for spring or summer wear but for fall / winter it's DIVINE!! Now I need to try Ristretto Intense Cafe!

This is what i'm talking about this is master perfumery at its finest !!! One of the best rose fragrances out there, you get that juicy sweet rose that evelops you and the one around you in a bubble, the vanilla is there and it gives roundness to the fragrance accompanied by the amber and the musk accord that starts to come out at the end of the scent. The coffe note is there, i get it even though majority of the people do not smell it... may be a problem of batches idk to be honest. What i know is that the coffe is subtle almost like whispering tho the rose. All blended masterfully. Truly a work of art. Projection and longevity very good: 10hrs of longevity and 1.5 of more than avg projection. Very likeble fragrance defenetly mass appealing but at the same time it retains its originality. Unisex, but leaning female imo. winter fragrance for sure. sweet and juicy rose accord, very hard to find. affordable price Mark: 9.5 it lacks that wow factor for me that would give it the 10. Unfortunately it came out a bit of time ago and now there are a lot of "inspired fragraneces" stealing part of the originality of it. Unfortunately.

This fragrance has really really grown on me! I initially liked the fragrance a lot but I thought it wasn't that special. After having such high hopes for Montale "Ristretto Intense Cafe," hopes that were quickly dashed, I had few expectations with Intense Cafe. So, for me Intense Cafe smells like a smoother, less spicy Carthusia "Terra Mia," which I own and love. And Intense Cafe seems to share similarities in its mid-notes and dry down with Tiziana Terenzi "Delox," another perfume I own and love. While not identical, all three aforementioned fragrances share very similar characteristics and qualities. So, in two short words: LOVE IT! Interestingly, I detect MORE coffee accord in Intense Cafe than I ever did in Ristretto Intense Cafe. Intense Cafe opens with a detectible coffee blast that rapidly gives way to florals (lots of rose). The drydown is a pleasant, vanilla-wood, densely floral, slightly musky accord of notes. But I DO DETECT coffee and lots of rose notes hours into the perfume's performance. I love it! Glad I purchased a full, new bottle. For the quality and the price, you cannot beat Montale Fragrances!!

Fragrance -Intense Cafe Montale Bottle from - 2015 I enjoyed a perfect cup of cappuccino at a beautiful French small town coffee shop.I was so lost in thoughts that I didn't notice anything around me.The next thing I could remember was the smell of the roses.It was a lovely flower girl who wanders around the streets selling roses from her flower basket.Oh boy.The smell of warm cappuccino and fresh roses and that look in her eyes...It was so amazing and so spiritual.Each time I smell Intense Cafe by Montale,I'm instantly transported back to France.With a smile on my face.For a moment at least. Longevity - 10/10(10+hours) Silage/Projection - 9/10(excellent projection and silage for the first 3-4 hours) Weather - best in early spring,autumn and winter. Versatility- 8/10 Age - 20+ Compliments - 9/10 Scent - 10/10 Main notes according to me - rose,vanilla,coffee,musk. The drydown is nice and i get some sweetness,amber,floral notes and vanilla. Emotions - love,romance,sensual,passionate,addictive,seductive. Occasion - best for date,nights out and romantic evening. You'll get compliments and LOVE with this one.

Holy mother of perfumes! This is a gourmand lover’s paradise! I just added intense cafe to my collection and I am already obsessed with it. Vanilla and coffee but so much more than that. It starts off with a strong coffee note. Coffee and sweet rose. Then the coffee note settles down a bit and the vanilla comes through and stays. I cannot detect the oud. I guess my nose is not trained well for it as it is very subtle. When I sprayed it on me at the counter I thought that it is quite similar to Delina exclusif. But this one is darker, more mysterious, less cloyingly sweet. It is perfection for fall/winter. I received compliments while wearing it and the longevity is outrageous. It is very creamy and I get whiffs of it throughout the day everytime I turn my head or I move. I’m already considering getting a back up bottle. It is great value for money. Now I get the hype about this perfume as it made it in my top 5 perfumes already. Edit: this has become my signature scent. And they all lived happily ever after. The end.

I love it. This was my first perfume from Montale and it's one I always come back to. Specially during the Holidays. Perfect for cold weather or any dressy night out. This is one of my DATE NIGHT favorites. My man loves it when I wear it. It smells like walking into a very bougie coffee shop while wearing a vanilla perfume and rose scented body lotion. Ordering a hot vanilla latte and a buttery croissant. You're usually on the go but you chose to stay. It's the prettiest during Christmas time. They bring out your latte, it smells AMAZING. The coffee is not an in your face coffee, but everything I just described. In the most elegant way. It's sensual, feminine but than again a guy could totally get away with wearing it. The rose is not potent at all. This perfume was perfectly made. Sexy, intoxicating, somewhat boozy, fresh (like fresh coffee) but creamy, it smells like a vanilla latte. Intense, but in a good way. The amber really comes through when it settles, absolutely gorgeous. BISOUS

I love this - definitely a signature scent. I’m extremely sensitive to perfumes, but it doesn’t smell synthetic to me at all. They seem to have changed the formula a little bit, as I bought it a few times. Originally, there was way more rose in it (I thought it was quite harmonious but I get why people think the name was misrepresented). Today I received a new batch and it smells more like coffee. It has a loud entrance: starts off as a spicy coffee fragrance with floral hints, yet sweet and not overpowering. After about 30 minutes, it turns into a nice vanilla latte. I would say the dry down is pretty similar to the batch I had before. Good sillage and longevity, but becomes more intimate over time. I don’t know if they actually changed the formula, but I’ve been using it almost every day for 5 years and definitely noticed the difference. All in all 100% recommend for all gourmand lovers. Compliments all around!

My wife smelled it without knowing the notes and the first thing she said was, "yummm it smells like coffee." The coffee note is definitely very prominent, along with rose 🌹 but it isn't a black coffee, it is more like a vanilla latte. This fragrance is very popular in my household, my wife and 3 daughters adore this fragrance. This fragrance is very sexy and it definitely gets the attention of women. However, if you don't like rose and other floral notes, you will probably want to pass on this. Although, I do find that the rose here is balanced very nicely with the coffee, vanilla and musk. I think this fragrance shines in the spring. Edit: longevity on this thing is insane. I sprayed a single spray on a shirt two days ago and can still smell it off that shirt. I sprayed 2 shirts on a different shirt yesterday and it is still humming. Mind you, I am spraying from a 20 ml decant.

Absolutely beautiful! Not a lot of coffee, sadly, but a beautiful, sweet, powdery vanilla dry down. It does last though I don't know about the projection, I suspect only moderate at most (for me). If you love vanilla and powdery, warm scents, then I recommend this. Of course, keeping in mind that all skins react differently. I kept smothering this on a few times during the day and I ended up smelling it the next day! Great staying power but I think you need more than one application. In addition, lovely, sweet spices warm up this fragrance a little more. I suspect they "waved the coffee over the bottle" LOL (Aussie saying I think - my mother used to say this of a weak smelling or tasting thing). Still, it is a very, very nice perfume.

Tried this perfume as a sample and at first I couldn't smell the coffee at all. I tried it a few more times and with each try I could smell more and more coffee. The coffee hits first and lasts for a while but it is the Jammy, creamy rose that lingers with a hit of coffee. The musky rose is similar to ombre nomade just not anywhere near as animalic, and without the oud, as there is something deep and sensual but also bright. I find the rose also similar to the rose in portrait of a lady, very jammy and sweet. On clothes the coffee stays for the duration. I was looking for the perfect rose and coffee perfume and I think I have found it. Great for the evening or a date in colder months, but I would wear this all the time. 10/10

Rose Oriental would better describe the nature of this scent than Intense Café. The earthy aromas of café noir I detect only in the dry down. The opening is a burst of florals, mainly rose and some oud aromas join the roses. Intense Café reminds me of Michael Kors Starlight Shimmer, which I had some years ago. Very oriental scent, deep rosy-vanilla-musky blend. I was disappointed that this was not the earthy dark coffee scent, but for my big surprise I do love this fragrance. It has character, and the rose is not cloying (for me, many rose dominant perfumes smell cloying), there is depth and mystery in Intense Cafe. Only two short sprays are enough for me and I do enjoy this scent.

Profumo che uso da anni, dà il meglio di sé nelle stagioni più fresche ma anche nelle serate estive. Molto avvolgente, dà una sensazione di calore una volta indossato, molto molto buono e non passa inosservato..non lo vedo come profumo da ufficio (nonostante io lo indossi anche al lavoro) può infastidire, ha un suo carattere,la rosa c'è ma non lo catalogherei tra fioriti, è più ambrato.. si fonde con la pelle a perfezione, è caldo, dolce ma non stucchevole e sexy.. è un profumo da complimenti,quando lo indosso i miei amici mi "annusano" molto volentieri 😅.. non adatto a chi ama i profumi leggeri, ottima persistenza e sillage, assolutamente unisex.

The coffee note within—which many people fail to detect, and which is very subtle, almost like a latte (don't expect Turkish coffee)—is hidden inside the rose. I wish they hadn't been stingy and had just added a *tad* more coffee—(see: Kuru Kahveci Mehmet Efendi)—that would have really helped. It’s not a cheap-smelling rose; it’s a sweet, inviting, fragrant rose. Even if it leans feminine—and even if people might say, "Dude's wearing a 'girly' scent"—I honestly couldn't care less; I love wearing it. Longevity is excellent; the opening is fleeting, as expected, followed by a blend of mixed florals. I wish buses and Metrobuses smelled like this.

I personally love this! It's a jammy rose with vanilla, amber, and a hint of coffee. I'm always on the hunt for a rose perfume that works during the Fall and Winter, and this one definitely fits that bill for me. If you love something like Lush's Rose Jam, then you will probably love this. To my nose, this smells like Rose Jam, but with a vanilla latte added in there. This is a "floral gourmand." If you hate rose perfumes and are hoping that this fragrance will convert you because of the vanilla and coffee notes, then I'd say don't get your hopes up. Rose is 1000% the dominant note in this perfume.

Intense Cafe takes me to a Parisian coffee shop encased in thick rose bushes. Cafe crème in hand and toffee candy on the tongue, you’re taking on the city your way. I never feel more in tune with the autumn season than when I have this scent on. Rose and milky coffee beans are my cozy yet seductive fall go-to. There’s a warm glacé amber dry down after a few hours. IC contains some notes that can lean synthetic to a sensitive nose, so definitely not a safe blind buy. Leans female though I find it unisex enough for anyone to dabble in. This is a LOVE! Longevity: 12 hours
