Intense Iris

I used to think I disliked Iris in fragrance. Days gone by I believed that it was a masculine note and not for woman, but recently I am having a love affair with Iris. Right in time for spring, I started to pull out my leftover Iris’ that I hadn’t decluttered and wondered why I never liked Iris? I did manage to save a few and purchase new items in a Iris haul that I am doing at the moment ok now.... This is stunning, so different than most of the Montale fragrances, no Oud in this at all. This is very fresh and clean almost a touch sour but not in a bad way. I smell every note in this iris come to the front right away, then it turns woody and you can get the sandalwood. If this had a color it would be purple deep purple! This fragrance is not powdery at all but it does take on a cosmetic vibe. Once it drydown it becomes a beautiful floral. Very unisex and I can tell this is long lasting. Sillage is beautiful and you will be notice. Iris is a mature scent not an old lady scent. I am glad this is in my collection. Highly recommended 10/10

This is a very simple and pretty iris fragrance. I have to say I am surprised it is supposed to be extrait strength! I can see why there are comments about the similarity with Prada Infusion d'Iris but this is softer and sweeter. PII is my "I mean business" fragrance. Its perfect for work. This on the other hand is so feminine and cooling. Perfect to wear on a warmish spring day. There is a creamy freshness care of the musk and sandalwood no doubt. There is lots of iris on the opening but it fades back considerably in the first half hour. What is left is an almost ozonic iris fragrance that takes me back to the 90s. I almost detect the smell of cucumber! Poor sillage but hangs around for a good few hours. Not fb worthy for me. I will stick with my Prada.

A gorgeous waxy, lipsticky, musky, soft iris. It's cool, but cozy. Casual, but elegant. I hear the longetivity concerns for sure. Even on the blotter, I had to re-spray 20 mins later. I still need to try many of the Iris scents this one gets compared to so I will say that there are many differences, it does remind me of a less sweet/fruity version of Kierin Nitro Noir (for it's soft waxiness) mixed with the sort of leathery cool notes I get from Bottega Veneta. This totally smells like my grandmother's old lipstick. With all this said, even though it's soft, I *could* see how if you overspray this one, it could get cloying. Still love it though.

Iris and everything in the iris family of notes is probably my top favorite note of all notes and this one is perfectly done. I personally love that make up powdery scent and this is what it gives however it is light and clean and more on the fresh side, very unique and i honestly think this is going to be in my top 5 perfumes of all time and I jist got it today. I am not familiar with montale but I have read they are all beast mode, but this one is very delicate and pretty and yet modern...if you like merit or lipstick fever and those type of fragrances then u are safe to blind buy this one

This was gorgeous iris bliss, refreshing light clean soapy powdery..& divine. I immediately got taken back to when I had Prada's Infusion home not 100% like it but similar DNA is there. Really on the fence if I want to add this to my collection or not I layered it with Dames New Musk & it was heaven.. think I'll do one more test, agree with all other comments for an extrait don't feel it lasted too long.. on clothes though it spoke different. If you can get past that the scent is magic & layered with something else I'm sure would amp it up a bit.

Felt compelled to write another review, I love this stuff even more so cause I scored a large bottle cheap on eBay. It’s just an uplifting cozy smell. Strong blast of lipsticky iris that settles and just becomes a clean musky powdery scent similar to Prada infusion, also find this layers very nicely with pretty much anything. Yeah longevity is the issue especially for an extrait on skin but find it holds really well on clothes also been layering it with Dames Musc to amp it up a bit.. 😌 love this beaut!

Being extrait, it is a heavy scent that stays close to the skin. To me it is the most beautiful scent ever, and I do not care that it has poor performance, I can simply re-apply it. When I smell it, I feel safe, happiness, sadness, excitement and melancholy at the same time. The fact that I get only whifs of it makes it even more magical and alluring. EDIT: Layering this with Prada L'Homme literally makes the iris note explode and project like insane making it literally my favourite scent.

I usually layer this perfume with something else. It got really high oil content but for some reason doesn't last quite long on my skin. How do I describe this fragrance. Very creamy and intoxicating floral with musk is what I'm getting mostly . It is quite a simple scent, yet I really appreciate it's simplicity. Sillage is quite nice when it last. I could smell it quite often through air. It is one of those scent you dont get tired of. Very pleasant. 9/10

A very pleasant and simple fragrance, as a guy I can definitely say it is feminine, but I would still wear this during with the right setting and right clothes. It is very soapy, with iris and white musk notes. It last long but has very weak sillage, wish it was more strong. Currently one of my favorites for now for the spring. I would recommend this for women or to men who think they can pull this off.

This fragance is stunning! It's soft but present. It's a lovely freshy floral feminin sent and it projets for a fewhours. I love it!

Very iris and very powdery and so delicious, in love with this scent.

One of many iris fragrances I own and enjoy. People seem to always list Prada Infusion d'Iris in the Reminds Me Of section for just about every iris I own or have encountered. In this case it's apt in my opinion, though more grounded, less ethereal. It's very nice and I'm always pleased to wear it when I think of it. Here's my gripe and it's the same as others - the longevity and sillage. I've come to expect performance issues with many "newer" fragrances, but used to believe that it would never be an issue for a Montale or Mancera, ESPECIALLY one with "Intense" in the name. Maybe it's the delicate nature of the florals, but it most definitely is not the case with So Iris or the other one I own and love, Vanilla Chypre. Still really like them both, sometimes even love them, and I do get much better performance from So Iris than from the Prada, but I don't feel a need to replace it when finished. I may try it with the Prada to see what happens.

My first experience with this perfume was as I visited a small perfumery store near my hometown. For me, it was love on the first sniff. The sales consultant sprayed this fragrance on my wrist and onto a little paper towel so that I could get a feel for the scent. I still had it on my wrist and smelled it on the little paper towel the whole evening. Love at the first sniff, I was in love a few hours later, I was in love a few days later (I got a sample). For me, a marvelous, elegant and soft fragrance. Personally, it is one of the most beautiful scent ever. I don't have performance issues. If I spray it in the morning into my hairs and clothes, they still smell the next morning.

"Intense" in the name is a joke. It lasts at the best 10 to 30 minute on skin, maybe one hour on clothes. Such a weak staying power was totally unexpected from Montale house. There must be a mistake in the formulation. Waste of money, in my opinion. The perfume is nice, very soft and leathery, but it's gone in just one blink. What's the use, then? Disappointing.

Loving the start. Iris but refreshing and clear. As if with bergamot. It feels happy. Not the usual powdery iris, though a touch of carrot remains. Creamy in heart. Summery type. It also has very beautiful, elegant, sweet drydown changing from the citrusy iris top.

I do not understand why there are only 3 ingredients/notes showing here. I would add floral, leather, citrus, amber. It is a feminine iris scent (not sweet at all though) with a clear dive into a mild cold aftershave- this balance makes it a definite unisex.

Sent bon l'iris, si vous aimez prada infusion d'iris, il est dans la même lignée, frais, brut, sent le propre. mixte de ce fait, mieux en automne mais convient au printemps. Très bon parfum

Nice, clean, easy Iris. No surprises, very linear, does not change, lasts up to 3 days on fabric. Stays close to the skin, would not intoxicate room, good for office, daytime, meal.
