Intense Roses Musk

Very pretty musky rose (duh!), more on the fresh and dewy side, at least at first (haven't been wearing it long enough to know whether it gets jammy later on--I suspect it will, but I don't care because I love all kinds of natural rose scents). I just have a small tester-vial, but I could see owning a full bottle of this someday, or at least a larger decant. It smells to me quite similar to my Delina dupe, the hilariously named Delila, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were lychee or rhubarb notes lurking amid the roses and musks. Bonus: My husband really likes this one. Sometimes I think his nose is equipped with a special sensor that can immediately detect if a perfume is expensive or not. He almost always likes the more expensive ones the best, even if I don't tell him what the brand is or show him the bottle or even tell him the name. If only this talent were marketable! The sillage and intensity are just insane: the name is no lie. As it dries down, it's getting a bit of a woody, oudy, Middle Eastern vibe, even though nothing like this accord is listed. Even though I have at least four very similar rose-forward frags, I think I need this one, too, damn it. I should stop ordering test vials. They only get me into trouble! The musks seem creamy and not at all vanillic, so I suppose in that regard it is not exactly like a couple of my Delina and Delina Exclusif Arabian cousins. I get the teensiest bit of smoke, too, like a blown-out birthday candle on a exquisite rosewater cake. I know some have criticized the synthetic rose notes, but this comes off quite realistic on my skin--nothing remotely "bathroom freshener" about it. Hats off to Monsieur Montale for what just might wind up being my rose perfume ne plus ultra. I doubt I'll give up my others, but this one pushes most of my rose-appreciation buttons. I like a tart, fresh rose with a bit of green, along with blowsier, jammier roses. I like cut roses and living roses and simulated roses in Caswell-Massey soaps. I might mess around with lots of other flowers sometimes (violets, irises, jonquils, peonies, jasmine, gardenia--if I don't love them all, I love 99% of the standard perfumery florals), but rose really has my number. Update: Wearing more liberally, I'm getting a haunting fragrance that makes me think of Days of Wine and Roses, only it's more like Day of Roses-wine, or a dark Merlot-like wine made exclusively from the darkest and ripest and burgundyest roses. This rose fragrance is too complex to be a soliflore--there's also some jasmine singing sultry counterpoint, and some musks and ambers that read slightly woody to my nose--but it still reigns supreme. The only danger of this perfume is that I love it so much I might be tempted to overspray, despite its obvious beast-mode performance. Fortunately, the atomizer is slightly subpar for such an otherwise superior perfume (and I like the opacity of the bottle, which protects the perfume even though it keeps me in a perpetual state of suspense as to how much I have left), so you have a little time to think about the consequences of your actions. Over time, it smells chocolatey--like rose-chocolate incense. LOVE. This might be Delina Exclusif's weird and glamorous aunt. Update: I think people who complain about the poor longevity must be getting noseblind to the perfume. I sprayed a test strip more than a week ago and can still smell it when I bring it up to my face. I think it's likely that people tend to get anosmic to the Montale musks. Update: A couple of months after my initial review, and I have experienced a series of major Montale and Mancera disappointments, which made me wonder if maybe I would start to dislike this one, too. I won't lie--the musks are instantly recognizable, and many of the perfumes resemble one another more than you might think come drydown time. I'm leery of these musks because I think I get noseblind to them when I wear them, and yet I know the perfume is still projecting like a beast because of the tests I have done on strips and fabric. I don't wear this one very often because I could see myself abusing it and dispensing headaches like some kind of Pain Santa. And this is not my rose ne plus ultra, alas. I would choose Nahéma (Guerlain) over this in a heartbeat. I also prefer La Fille de Berlin (Serge Lutens); I prefer Intense Roses Musk to Roses Vanille by Mancera (which is itself rather close to Tanasuk and Club de Nuit White Impériale), and as other reviewers have noted, it does bear more than a passing resemblance to Intense Cafe, so if you have that already, you might not want to bother (or vice versa), but this is still a damn good rose, and I'm not at all sorry that I purchased it. I do think the bottles are awful--not because they're aluminum and opaque (that to me seems eminently practical) but because they're vulgar, with that silly bling for the cap lock (I think most of us would prefer a conventional top, which takes no more time to remove than the little clip and is also much less likely to get lost).

Disclaimer: This is my honest review, my personal experience. I have strange skin type and not many perfumes smell good on me, but those perfumes people hate - smell wonderful on me. Two years ago, my father bought me a perfume in Dubai. The only thing I told him to look for was "floral and jasmine scent". He came home with an unknown Saudi-Arabian perfume, and I can remember the moment I opened the bottle. It was the most perfect scent of female perfume I've ever smelled. Strong, floral, crispy, expensive-smelling, oriental... I still have that perfume and I am using it only on special occasions, because I don't want to lose it. It's so good I want to bathe in it. My clothes smell like it even after washing. It makes me want to travel half the world just to get it. It's called "Tous Les Jours - Majesté". So, two years have passed and I've been looking for a similar perfume, like something remotely close to it. One day, I randomly smelled Montale - Intense Roses Musk in a store and my brain exploded! It was THE SMELL I was searching for!!!! It's the kind of smell which is almost unisex, but more feminine. For example, my mom hates when I wear it cause it's super strong, and I want to conquer the world while it's on my skin. It's the smell men remember, it makes them confused, in a good way. 😂 One of the rare perfumes I plan to buy over and over. Perfection!

I am an all time lover of the original Roses Musk. This is basically exactly the same but more stronger and heavier, and lasts even longer on your skin. Another difference that I notice is that the liquid of this fragrance is slightly oilier in texture than the original version, which is the reason why it lasts longer on you. This scent is so beautiful, flirty and sophisticated. Strong sweet rose throughout with a strong musk and amber base. You definitely need to like these notes in order to like this perfume. Personally I do not detect any jasmine in particular. Very feminine and pretty. The fragrance is not too complex, its very simple and very easy to wear in any situation. The silage is amazing and people will notice this perfume when you wear it. Only received positive comments from this ! It is definitely very expensive but worth it in my opinion.

Just wow. I think my girlfriend will need to buy her own bottle, or fill up a travalo. This scent is beautiful, and as long-lasting of a modern scent as I can find with these notes. The sweet and smooth rose keeps its character for 12+ hours with just a light spray to the back of my hand. Longevity on the back of my hand is 14.5 hours, usually projecting 3" even after 12h. Incredible. The rose in this is very similar to the rose found in Intense Cafe, just slightly brighter/sweeter in itself. I prefer the latter as an inviting scent, but IRM is sweeter and more rose-focused, and more feminine-leaning. A man can definitely pull this off, and it's a fantastic scent to layer. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 8/10

I blind bought this based on all the positive reviews, and had expectations of a power house juice. What I didn’t expect was to get a preview whilst opening the sealed box..this is so strong it could hardly be contained by the metal canister, or the pouch...the powerful rose began its journey before I could pull it out of the box. Sweet delicious rose, not unlike Parfait de Roses. No fruit, no sugar, just a gorgeous voluptuous addictive rose with some soupçon of something Mediterranean. Don’t wear this to any fragrance sensitive occasion, it will blow your audience away - unless of course that’s your intention. Beautiful, highly recommended if you love rosey fragrances with guts that last the distance.

Very jammy rose. It's good but it reminds me a lot more of roses vanille than roses musk (OG). It's a sweet , jammy rose. If you have roses vanille already, this feels way too similar and you can probably skip. Roses musk (OG) is more of a fluffy, airy rose that's very reminiscent of the rose in Delina. Intense roses musk is very sweet so it feels like a completely different rose in comparison to og. It's nice but I have roses vanille already and prefer it (in the dry down) and I think I'll get the roses musk (OG) instead of this one since the fluffy airy rose is so good. The only downside of OG roses musk is that it doesn't have as good of lasting power or projection as the Intense version.

If this is a grandmother scent, I wonder what was my grandmother wearing that didn't smell like this, so I can sue her because I wish I sniffed this before! I absolutely LOVE this juice, blind bought it after trying Roses Musk (regular version). It's a rose on steroids, a mechanical, enhanced, IA Rose, clean and synthetic, and I adore it. So far it has a great longevity and after 6 hours on spraying, I keep smelling it on my clothes and smiling. I read in previous comments that it stains the clothes and is very oily, so I put it on black clothes, just to be sure. If you are a Rose perfume collector like me, and do not have Roses Musk, I suggest you try this; it's a must have.

To my nose, Intense Roses Musk is 10,000% Montale Intense Cafe minus the coffee and vanilla. intense Roses Musk is a simple, straight-forward, rose & musk fragrance. After using up Ristretto Cafe and Intense Cafe, I purchased a "one-spray only" used bottle of Intense Roses Musk on a reseller site at a pretty good price. IMHO, you do not need Ristretto Cafe, Intense Cafe and Intense Roses Musk...they are all pretty identical. However, IMHO Intense Roses Musk's drydown is softer, more full-on rose versus Intense Cafe's landing, which definitely has a more coffee and vanilla forward drydown. I like it. A great bedtime scent in my small collection of fragrances.

Ladies and gents if you need a beast mode Rose in your face fragrance, look no further. This is it! Montale Intense Roses Musk Extrait de Parfum is in a category all by itself. This was a very successful blind buy for me. I love it and I want to take with me with everywhere I go. My only issue I think that this Montale and Mancera Roses Greedy are the same perfumes, they simply added the musk to the Montale. Either way, you cannot go wrong with this one. This perfume is for those people with big personalities. This is my second Montale; I cannot wait to explore this house further. As always, remember wear your fragrances for you and not for others,.

Intense Roses Musk is gorgeous in my opinion, I totally do not get the mature vibe that others mention. I think it is a more youthful rose as it is very sweet. Lasting power is very good, especially on clothing - pretty eternal. It is not complex in terms of notes but if you love sweet sugary rose fragrances with a musky undertone, this is amazing. I do not personally get the jasmine note at all. What I will say is that you do not both the intense and the normal roses musk or intense café they are all very similar. My preference is intense café as it has more vanilla and then the subtle coffee note.

Understatedly sexy. A true headturner. The musk in this fragrance is so intoxicating I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like it/whose skin it doesn't perform well on. If you want the exact rose from intense cafe without all the extra additions, this is for you. Voluptuous, slightly green, dewy pink roses with a delightful natural sweetness from the amber and jasmine. Be careful overspraying, this is a fragrance you'll go nose blind to easily and people can smell you well after you stop smelling yourself.

I'm a big fan of Montale and of rose fragrances in general. I own Roses Musk and Intense Cafe. Did I really need Intense Roses Musk? Probably not, but I love it! On my skin, Roses Musk has only average longevity, whereas Intense Roses Musk is way longer lasting. There's a tad more amber in the drydown of the Intense version, and also just the concentration of oils is higher which makes it project and last better. The Intense is basically everything I was hoping regular Roses Musk would be.

I love wearing it, it's exactly what it says on the bottle - musky rose. It's got Middle Eastern vibes, but smells clean at the same time. I find it very sexy, leans feminine. The only issue - and someone mentioned it already - is the texture. Don't spray in on your hair for sure, unless greasy hair is your thing! I'm going to try the original version when I finish this bottle just to see if I can resolve the oily issue. Very easy to wear and suits most temperatures/occasions.

simple and straightforward: fresh feminine powdery nose. the intense version has a touch of ambery sweetness and lasts even longer than tje already impressive regular roses musk. on my dry skin the regular and intense lasts pretty much the same 3-4 hours. but on clothing...it lasts more than 12 hours! the intense is still going strong even at 12hours plus! this is impressive, as usually this style of rose doesnt last that long on me!

This perfume is amazing! My eyes literally roll into the back of my head when I smell this. It is such an appealing and sexy smell to me. Honestly so gorgeous, If you like rose scents, you can’t go wrong. It has a similar DNA to Intense Cafe however this is more a true rose/musk scent. I really can’t understand some of the reviews below, I can only think they must have had a bad bottle or skin reacted very differently.

This lasts forever. Even after laundry I can smell it on my clothes :) I have both Roses Musk and Roses Musk Intense. Intense version does not have more roses, but it is sharper and more ambery. And lasts longer, that's why I prefer it better. Beware Intense Roses Musk is very oily. It easily stains you clothes or makes hair greasy. Need to be conscious where you spray.

I prefer this one over the Roses Musk. It is deeper and warmer. Logetivity is a beast for me - stays on skin for more than 12 hours, on clothes forever (I can scent it even after laundry). Sillage is fantastic as well so I try not to over do it - not more than two spritz at a time. For me this is not a summer scent - cold weather is perfect for it.

I'm going through a "purchase all the Tom Ford testers" and this came as a freebie. I didn't realise I was wearing it until I got comments about the "lovely perfume" which I hadn't gotten from the Fords! For half the price it still has that wallop of musky rose with great longevity. I'll probably get the full bottle!

This is gorgeous 🌸 It’s intense cafe stripped down to nothing but its underwear. What’s left is a gorgeous Rose and Jasmin that’s been sprinkled with amber on a bed of musk. It’s stunning. Longevity is top notch and mixes INCREDIBLELY well with Mon Paris by YSL. You will smell INSANE. It’s a definite love ❤️

How can such a gorgeous perfume have so little effect on my emotions? I feel, despite the beauty of the rose and the strength of overall composition, something is missing. There is no edge. My perfume collection is missing a spectacular rose. The search continues.

I'm not even a floral fan but THIS PERFUME. I love how it's mature but in a dark sensual way. I picture a 27-29-year-old corporate woman wearing this. modest but warm and slightly spicy(?) it is very strong so a little goes a long way.

Roses, roses, and more roses. But not simple roses or soft baby-like roses, these are strong, fresh, expensive roses. The amber does its job, it projects a lot and really stands out. A masterpiece for those of us who love rose notes.

I don`t even like roses in perfumes but... this is amazingly beautiful, even I have to succumb to this scent. It is somehow melancholically beautiful, it makes me wanna cry how unworldly beautiful it is.

One of the best perfumes ever made, it is an artpiece, not for everyone but a special kind of rose. To me, this is a rose in an orthodox church.

Beautiful wet, syrupy, intense and romantic rose. I enjoy wearing this in Spring, Summer and Autumn. The heat causes the Intense Rose Musk to bloom and radiate nicely. Alternatively, in Winter, IRM does not blossom and stays very close. This perfume has the recognizable Montale chemical base which makes it unique, synthetic but somehow gives it a freshness. It is not really musky. I really enjoy Intense Rose Musk. It is dark but, bright. It surrounds and engulfs me in a cloud of rosy comfort and mystery. The longevity is superb and the sillage is generally soft. I always overspray because I love this so much and it never gets cloying. Not the most natural smelling but, the sweetness makes it a great bedtime and everyday perfume for me. If you like Mancera velvet vanilla and Montale Dark purple, you might really like this. The sweetness is divine!

So sensual you'll ask yourself "why bother with the lingerie?" This intense version of rose musk has a warming amber heart that really challenges the rose note to be warmer softer and more comforting. The musk note gives it a powdery feminine touch. The whole vibe is "subverted sexy". It lasts and lasts, the intensity varies it's softer the further you are, but really encourages you to get closer. I really believe this is just perfect for nighttime/ evening occasions.

This is a genuine heavy hitter I’m not the biggest fan of rose but I saw a deal that I couldn’t miss The opening stays the same till the end, amazing longevity and silage. It literally fills a room with it being an extrait The presentation is the standard Montale bottle but with a black to pink ombré It’s quite similar to dark purple and roses vanille ( without the lemon) It’s a mature scent but it layers beautifully with my other scents that are missing rose.

This one is a very natural, dewy pink rose. I'm not getting much musk or amber. It's a pretty straightforward perfume with little complexity; however, it's done well and lasts. This smells very similar to Aerin's Rose De Grasse, with the exception that Rose De Grasse is slightly more jammy but doesn't last as long. Smell: 8 out of 10 Longevity: 8 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.

This is so rosey, so girly, so pink, so powdery sweet. Despite a strong projection and longevity I find the scent to be soft and approachable, though I only use a single spray. It's a once in a blue moon wear since I tend to like more creamy, layered scents. This is pretty much one note, but it hits it clearly, and continually and I can't hate it, it certainly has its place.

I haven't tried the original Roses Musk, started from the intense version for some reason. I like it, it's an interesting rose scent. Nice fresh rose and some musk. It is sweet too. There's something else, but I can't quite tell what it is. I could actually see myself wearing it, it's that good. Fresh, sweet and rosy, a very nice one.

This smells to me like Intense Cafe, but also like a squeezed teabag (Tetley or Scottish Blend preferably, ta) - tannic and aromatic. However, I do like it - floral, aromatic, musky. It lasted a decent while on my hand - one spray went on for a couple of hours. It’s not my favourite ever scent but I’ve enjoyed sampling it.

Hateeed the first 3h after spraying, but loved the drydown. I got the OG roses musk instead to try and ended up preferring it, as it is more jammy, sweet and less sharp. Long lasting and the sillage is also great. I would say its a pretty safe scent overall, and if you like roses, not a crazy blind buy.

green dry light rose like watered down Tea Rose or Annick Goutal or Serge Lutens roses; nothing special; doesn't last

I don’t really like rose perfumes, unless it is paired with Oud. I can barely stand the Portrait of a Lady (Frederic Malle) and only because it reminds me of special people/moments. This is a very “Rose” perfume. With green/rose stem notes. And some gasoline scent notes mixed in there. It’s a nice fragrance, but a very very rose’y one. Make sure you like that ROSE/GREEN note paired with a sniff of gasoline. And this fragrance it’s oily! It’s average strong for an hour or so and then it became very close to the skin! I am glad I have it but definitely I am not going to purchase it again!

eh.... it's ok. predominantly rose, faint whiff of jasmine, minimal musk on me, unfortunately. average projection and longevity only (which is fine, but not usual for a montale). also smells synthetic. just aggressively feminine, synthetic, smells a bit like a vintage beauty product, and not sexy. it's pretty linear (which personally I do like in perfumes), but eh. doesn't get any better than the opening. wouldn't repurchase.

Intense Roses Musk was not what I was expecting because I was thinking the roses would be amped up, but instead there is waaay more ambroxan and musk. The strong molecule vibe gives it a slight minty freshness, especially in the beginning. Kind of like the minty freshness you feel after brushing your teeth. I'll have to test it more, but so far I prefer the original Roses Musk.

This is Mancera Gold Intenstive Aoud... Somehow identical but its much lighter in terms of smell and I guess I go anosmic to it. The only difference is at the very dry down, this one is a bit more rosey. I prefer Gold Intenstitive Oud because a strong performer and head-turner. This sprays oily and this shows how concentrated it is, so be careful to spray on clothing directly.

It's musky, it's rosy, it's intense... Something about this particular musk didn't work great with me - not terrible, just not as nice as the rose musk in NR for her Fleur Musc. The longevity was good by most standards (~8hr) but not as crazy long as some people get from Montale.

First few sprays and I thought that this scent was familiar. Couldn’t put my finger on it until I read Jolene99‘s comment that this is exactly like Intense Cafe. And it is! I can’t tell the difference.

This fragrance is just okay. It’s a basic rose fragrance with a hint of musk on the dry down. Delina or Delina Exclusif a far better options in my opinion. I adore Delina Exclusif!

Overspray and you'll be mistaken for a can of room freshener. The musk is not screechy, the rose sweet. She's uncomplicated, fun and care-free, if not a bit oily.
