Mango Manga

Id say the majority of these reviews, apart from a few, are just wrong. Either people may not understand or appreciate fragrances or perhaps they just didnt give it a second. Anyway, from my experience this fragrances indeed have a weird kinda unpleasant scent at the very beginning. For me it reminded me of those fruit flavoured fever medicine I would take as a kid. Or like another reviewer described, vomit. I cans ee where they are coming from. HOWEVER, that smell does dissipate quickly. After the first few seconds to a minute, it transforms into the mango. For me personally I like the mango in this. I may not have a lot of experience with mango scents vut I thought it was pretty realistic, considering montale/mancera usually smells synthetic to me. The fragrance to me is almost all mango. I couldn't really pick up much else, which was OK with me. I wore this in the middle of summer in eastern Canada. In that environment, it worked pretty well. Projected pretty nice and left a trail as I walked. I remember a friend of mine complemented it as she was behind me. Additionally, another friend said I just smelled like a walking mango, in a good way ofc. And personally, it reminded me of those south Asian mango juice I used to have as a kid, fruitti I think. With that said, 9/10. Would recommend. Give the first few seconds a chance, and apart from thats, safe blind buy.

So immediately I get a juicy fruit bubble gum mango and it kinda settles into more of a synthetic mango aloe juice. After the initial mango bubble gum burst—the oud, oak moss, and vetiver really stand out to me. I don’t really pick up on the ylang ylang, jasmine, and neroli so much on my skin as it does on my clothes.. But it’s definitely there’s just very softly blended together. The mango is there the whole time it just melts together (with the orange in the background to me picks up more dry a similar orange to eau des marvielles) IMO really great fragrance if you like sweet fruity scents but want more depth. It’s fresh fruity floral but grounded by more woodsy notes that really round out the scent profile. The projection is good slightly more than an arms reach, It depends how much you spray but I tend to be more trigger happy most days. This will last all day on your skin and on your clothes forever but not project so strongly all day maybe 2-3 hrs depending on your application.

I love this one of my favourites for a years and i grow sick of fragrances fast. To me this has a very bubble gum mango opening mixed with a banana like ylang ylang the oud is actually something i can stand and truly appreciate in this fragrance usually i hate oud so idk what other people are smelling but i’ve been told why do i smell so good i smell like candy wearing this and i’ve also been told that it’s too strong on the other hand so to each their own smell before u buy there’s no such thing as a blind buy imo thats just good marketing 🤷🏻♀️ doesn’t smell anything like fame i own that too and thats a way different type of fragrance.

Mango Manga opens with a burst of deliscious sticky sweet juicy ripe mango, almost resembles mango bubblegum but has an underlying green/bitter note which turns down the sweetness of the scent a bit. It reminds of a very sweet synthetic fizzy mango drink I used to love drinking as a child. The longevity is sadly not great but this scent is still yummy. I close my eyes and it transports me onto a hot carribean beach with a luscious fresh mango drink in my hand, straw hat on and feeling chilled out. I am not sure it would actually work on a hot day but on a cold rainy day it's rather yummy.

Doesn't deserve this low of a rating. The mango is candied but balanced with the green notes. The dry down is white floral and green, a solid progression from the sweet opening. I think people want it to smell like the shampoo-mango garbage that's so popular nowa days; this is gourmand, but the florals give it needed depth at this price. 6.5/10

I have this fragrance, I bought it from the official website. The smell of ripe fruit in the tropics, there is no smell of cat litter, which is something that people do not think of. Overripe fruit in the sweltering tropics, I'd say. I like this scent, it opens very interestingly. You start with bubble gum, mango, then white flowers.

When you first spray this fragrence it smells like a mango hi chew candy then goes more floral however the packaging silk sleeve smells like burnt plastic tar which almost made me associate that scent with the fragrence

blind bought a new full bottle here is what I get I love the opening the mango is pretty much there and is very natural smelling but that did not last the orangey mango connection disappears and the flowers comes in this becomes very feminine and soapy although the mango is still there it has been overshadowed by the flowers and that I really did not like "i want more MANGO" they should have taken the jasmine note and just put a more mango note in the middle that would have been a lot nicer in my opinion. at the base it turns slightly woodsy I find the cedar and oakmoss prominent maybe slight sweet vetiver. I don't really smell aoud at the base I was looking for it but cant really detect it the mango is all gone at this point :( at the base woodsy notes with the slight flower notes in the back round over all its an OKAY scent nothing to be hyped about. My opinion if they only a lot of the mango note it would have been very very good and not soapy. I don't really get it MANGO MANGA by its name should be more mango than flowers generally scent aims more on the feminine side as a male I think I can still pull it off good for hot weather/summer scent.

This perfume makes me laugh because in the top note, all I could smell was almost rotten fermented mango. I grew up in the tropics and have eaten different types of mango. Also the ones that are too ripe. This one definitely has that smell. Luckily, it only stays briefly and it delivers me to the smell of prominent yellow flowers. The Heart notes is somewhat soapy to my nose. It smells of flower soap bars that my family used way before shower gels were marketed. This is not love at first sniff even though all the smells brought me back to my childhood in Indonesia. I will update this post later once I arrive at base notes. But for the time being, the verdict is that this is not full bottle worthy.

I am honestly a bit surprised to read the terribly negative reviews here. The opening is full on mango and something bubblegummy. In this stage it does have that synthetic plasticky smell that a lot of Montale fragrances have. Fortunately this disappears quickly and it dries into a creamy realistic mango scent. I get no rotten mango or air freshener and I also can't detect any oud. It smells very much like I would expect from a scent with mango in the name and as its main note. Of course this isn't a super elegant or sophisticated fragrance, but it is fun for sunny days in spring or summer.

I love Mango Manga and didn't see it coming, me being in my 40s and all. I am not very impressed by it (it's quite simple and not very sophisticated), but I enjoy using it A LOT. It starts off with a blast of overly ripe mango and somewhat later I get yellow florals. It's super strong and seems like good value for my money. It's also very synthetic which means you should spray with caution to avoid headaches. I am truly fascinated by it, it's very unique and playful.

The mango i so sweet and ripe it smells like wild strawberries. Love it. Because it makes me think lf when i was a kid putting wild strawberries on a straw and eating them 😂 The jasmine ia there. Ive had it on for 2 hours qnd the fruitiness is still apparent. Love it. Though the first sniff after the initial spray made me gag. But after a few minutes it was loveable.

It's not bad, for me the mango is not it, it smells like bubblegum. Then im getting hints of jasmine. It's not really bad, maybe not a fan of that ylang. But i'm fine with wearing it, not my signature scent tho. Maybe it will grow on to me. The longer im wearing this, the better it smells. Maybe will sell it

Omg, worst opening ever, it literally smells like $h!t BUTTTT the dry down is amazing, smells like you are on a 5 star tropical vacation with an Hermes bag!

I layer this with a citrus marine fragrance and then it's amazing. In its own Mango Manga is cloyingly sweet, like over ripe-smelling, on me.

Wow, this smells like true mango (those there have been imported to Denmark, at least 😅), with some fine makeup powder. It’s cute 🥰🥭

Mango Manga...I get it! Manga, anime...Japanese animation is a facsimile of real life. This fragrance is a facsimile of a real mango or (as a stretch) a facsimile of your more typical rich and deep Montale fragrance. To me, it smells like a "mango" car freshener...like stepping into cab or Lyft and then noticing the car freshener, looking around and then seeing an orange colored pine tree or maple leaf "car fresh'ner" hanging from the rear view mirror. I ordered a decant thinking/hoping that it would smell like a real mango...it doesn't. It's light, synthetic and you wind up smelling like you've been driving your car all day with a "mango car fresh'ner" hanging right next to you!

A tropical scent with photorealistic mango. As in- the actual fruit, not a "mango" shampoo, hand cream or candy. The rest of the notes are not necessarily complimentary though. It`s like driving on a sunlit coastal road and then turning to a slum. For some reason the initially good notes create a banana peel+dust effect. It`s not bad overall but it`s not great either.

The opening is synthetic mango, it was OK for me. After a few minutes I got a really strong soapy-yellow flower blend, it felt really cheap and irritating. After a few hours it turned out as a nice woody mango scent, which I finally liked. Overall I'm glad that I only bought a sample of this fragrance, because it's only wearable a few hours from applying it.

Jesoous the opening is cray.. not nice. Let it dry down for 5 minutes and its much more pleasant. Half an hour on and i dont see why I wouldnt wear this in the summer Moderate projection from just 1 spray on my wrist Mango & ylang-ylang are prominent on my skin with sublte oud

I am really disappointed as i expected a tropical sweet mango scent. But the mango lasts 3 minutes in the opening then the perfume dries down into a floral soap bar which is by no means bad, it just doesnt fit the name and it is not my type of fragrance

yeah no.. I loved the synthetic mango opening but it dries down to a dry jasmine flat type of scent so its a no from me unfortunately

Starts with sweet, hypnotic mango. Ripe and juicy, in the background I detect orange. smells like a wonderful tropical cocktail. It quickly turns dry and green with a hint of ylang-ylang. The jasmine is perceptible. Now it switched from fruity to floral, it's dense, still sweet. The oakmoss becomes more noticeable. I smell a note similar to musk and vanilla, but that's probably because of the heavy flowers. The wood notes slowly make their entrance but they stay in the background. The composition manages to stay sweet for its entire lifespan. Although this is a women and men fragrance, I feel that Mango Manga tilts towards the feminine side, even during the drydown it stays powdery and sweet. I was curious about this fragrance (even with that cheesy name)and in the end it disappointed me. The opening is a sweet delight. The dry down smells like an old Victorian era style soap.

I had quite big expectations about this scent, but it disappointed me all the way through. First of all, I did not get any mango in here. The name is bit misleading... The scent opens as a burst of unidentified musky, sweet, floral notes. Nothing fruity or juicy, just a lot of powdered dust. Then comes a bomb of yang-yang and neroli, and woody notes. And this is how it settles. I do prefer the drydown to the first hour, it becomes less harsh and more pleasant to the nose. But the base that comes out some sort of sweet, weak sugary flower mixed with artificially coloured cotton candy, disappoints again. It is not a good quality scent, does not smell particularly well, I could not find any appealing elements to it.

Ha! Some of the positive reviews here make me laugh. No balloons for me with this one lol. Sorry - it’s a horrid synthetic candy scent. Rare for me to be so uninterested in sharing a description or experience of any sort but this is just so below par which is really saying something considering Montale for me is extremely overrated anyway - except Fougeres Marine. If you really like Mango try Xerjoff Cruz Del Sur II - it will change your life for what a gourmand fruit scent can do even for a man - if you can’t afford it Pierre Guillaume Manguier Metisse is far far superior and cheaper with natural content - even that is OK for a man - forget the usual lady’s scent connotations... I love mango scents and i really thought i would love this one but oh my...this was a disappointment. Mango candy scented with a prominent earthy green note that RUINS IT. Smells like they added an unripe mango skin and the mango leaves as well. The mango candy in the top note is there for literally 10 seconds. After that, i smell leaves and soap. Im not kidding. Not what i was expecting to smell at all.

I was hoping this to be really nice tropical fragrance, but unfortunately this is not my taste at all. There is some tropical tone to it, but there's also a rotten smell to it. Way too sweet mango mixed with different woody notes is an unusual composition. This perfume is never going to be one of my favorites.

It is too sweet,too bubblegum-like,my sons told me,I smell like a souvenier-shop,where You can buy incense-sticks,little budha-statues.pink scented-erasures. Why is it called Mango Manga,I do not know,maybe the little creatures from cartoons,that are painted on the pink-erasures,they came from Manga-stories.

I wonder if the mixed reviews are a batch issue because I agree with the people who're saying it smells horrible! The opening smells rotten and medicinal and the dry down isn't all that great even on skin. I'm hoping it macerates and changes into a sweeter more pleasant mango scent

It smells like plastic fruits....more plastic than fruits. I passed to my mom because I hate it. I had high hopes for this one. projection:5/10 sillage: 4/10 but the smell is in your nose. Made me feel sick longevity: about 6 hours

Mango (not a realistic one but rather the one you'd get in a mango-flavoured fizzy drink) is only there in the very beginning as it disappears after 5 mins. After 5 mins you are left with a sweet powder and nothing else.

When the fragrence first opens it smells amazing, like a mango sorbet but after 10 seconds it smells like a rotten almost plasticky mango.

Overly synthetic and unpleasant scent which reminds me rotten tropical fruits mixed with cheap air freshener from a WC. Strong scent.

I have to thank Mango Manga, Aromatic Lime and Mukhallat for saving my money and avoiding Pierre Montale's lines for over a decade. 🥰 Because there's a huge demand to smell like a stale mango car freshener right? 👍🏼

It stinks like spoilt mango yoghurt and rotten fruit — the most nauseating and unpleasant stench known to mankind.

Smells like rotten mango in a garbage can followed by sweaty armpits. Horrible

Ok. Here's a review from someone who owns and has tested +200 niche, independent, designer, Arab, vintage, Premium Designer (private) collections and anything in between. First off, it's nowhere near as bad as the reviews make it to be. Yes, when smelling the little pouch bag, there's a "vomit" tinge to the smell. But this is nowhere near the actual scent of the perfume when applied on skin. Upon the first 10 seconds of application, this strange vomit note does come through which I believe is a weird combination of the mango and citrus notes. Mango doesn't smell synthetic, the citrus smell is synthetic (characteristc Montale citrus bite).So that may act up weirdly at first. But literally ayer one minute is gone. What appears after the first minute is very yellow floral heavy. The Ylang Ylang is very prominent and brings a floral heaviness to the composition. Mango is then significantly toned down, I can't smell much mango in this to be honest, it sits in the background providing a furry backbone. Think like a faint mango scent in the bottle after drinking a mango flavored yogurt. Jasmin makes the composition a little dirty. This is predominantly yellow flowers (Ylang Ylang) with a subdued Jasmin on the back and a persistent fruity/creaminess of faint mango. Cedar, vetiver, oud, none of them really come through. They bring about enough woodiness so as to steer this scent clear from the archetypical suntan lotion vibes kinda mango. Curiously though, the scent trail does smell more mango like, but smelling directly close to the skin makes the mango note less prominent. Great scent for those looking for a fruity scent which does not steer into gourmand/suntan lotion territory. Floral forward.

Ye gods. I won't get any balloons because you only get balloons by writing eulogies, not litanies of complaint, but good lord this is horrible. My sort of genetic nasal receptors must be different to most people here if they perceive this as genuinely pleasant, at any stage. First off it's cloying rotting mango out of a bin, then it's wrapped in plastic, then it's just soapy musky bleurgh then the dry down has no sweetness at all, just dry wood with a tiny hint of vinyl. And the decomposing mango top notes disappear really fast btw, so fast in fact it goes 0-60 to it's base in five minutes. Genuinely five minutes. The base is still here a couple of hours later but I really wish it wasn't. Never blind buy this. Just awful. Not sorry n not apologising to anyone who likes this, you crack on n like it, I'm pleased (& MYSTIFIED) for you, but please let me say I found this astonishingly bad.

I accidentally came across one heavily used-up dent bottle at TJ Maxx; how bizarre. The condition was a total wreck, so I did not purchase it but did try it. In my opinion, the scent is sure sweet and heavy. I do get orange more than mango. Then powdery, almost rotten, ylang-ylang and plastic jasmine blend in. It's pretty unusual. Later here comes something a bit smokey. The scent is not particularly woody for me but just sweet orangey rotten mango and plastic flower are what I get out of this the most. It smells a little sacred and not for everyone. I think if it would smell really wonderful if it were a fresh new bottle. Maybe in the future, I will give it a second shot.

This scent came out with a deliciously sweet fruity mango opening... I was smitten! Within the next half hour, the fruit was all but gone and a very soft jasmine and wood remained. It was very hard to smell on me, despite the generous splash I applied. Hours later, I can detect a slightly warm fruit with some deeper floral background but it blends very creamy, maybe even a bit soapy. For now, this is a pass... If the opening stayed it would've been a must have! Perhaps it will fair better in the heat of summer....

A sorta creamy, bubble gum, hand lotion, bubble bath smell. Smells alright, but pretty linear on my skin. I personally think this coulda used some citrus notes to make it more juicy. I see other reviews saying it is so, but on my skin its just dry and creamy. If it was just a little juicy I think I could live with it. Maybe theres just a little too much woods, or florals here.. Nothing crisp, no zest to it. Shoulda woulda coulda I guess.. Just ok for me.

Wanted to try this for such a long time in the end, my partner bought it (he’s good to me) I had such high hopes for this I sprayed it straight on myself, and to be frank it smells like gone off mango chutney... kind of has a bitter sourness to it.... A bit mouldy almost bin like smell I had to wash it off instantly I don’t like writing reviews like this on fragrances but this truly was a definite, no for me Might be just my skin but it’s a hell nah

Mmmm. Mango and orange zest, combined with flowers and woods. I love that this was originally marketed toward Japan, as lighter and fresher scents are most popular in Asian countries. These are the types of scents I love most, too. Can't wait to try this! I have a feeling me and Mango Manga will get along great :)

It is a very realistic mango, but overriped, even a bit rotten. But is settles on and gets better with time. Very good longevity. And once I had it occasionally mixed with Sahara Blue and it transformed into a very interesting scent, neither here nor there - not too sweet, not too cold.
