Oud Tobacco

Phenomenal! I have tried quite a few Montale/Mancera frags over the years, and this is definitely my favorite. It share many parallels with Blonde Amber, definitely not as deep or high quality, definitely doesn't develop in the same number of stages, but it does change quite a bit Opens with dried fruits, fresh cut orange, tobacco, and warm spices, as it dries down, the tobacco sticks around, and vanilla shows up, some of the fruits and dried spices fall away. In the final stages, an absolutely sublime incense accord develops with hints of frankincense. If you have ever experienced Satya Nag Champa incense, this smells similar in the mids and dry down. It's absolutely beautiful and took my by surprise, as many Montale and Mancera fragrances are overly synthetic and rather linear. They typically open one way and just drop some notes over time, where as Oud Tobacco develops and changes, and every stage smells great! I didn't detect any Oud, but it's possible it was overshadowed by some of the other bold notes. Performance is outstanding, strong projection in the first 4 hours while slowly developing into a skin scent at 8-10 hours on skin. It obviously lasts much longer on clothing, however, in my experience, fragrances that develop and change tend to get stuck in the opening and mids more than the full development when on clothing compared to skin. Skin chemistry definitely plays a roll in this process as well. This is definitely geared towards the cooler weather, I could see this being worn on early Spring and very late Summer nights in the area I live (North-East USA). I think this is safe for weather under 65°c/19°c. This is unisex, but realistically leans masculine. It's a somewhat mature scent. I could see this being worn by a more serious person in their late 20's but also suited to the 30-50 year old range. It may be a little too masculine smelling for many women's taste. I had a sample of CC Blonde Amber and I also have French Avenue Amber Empire, which a lot of people consider to be the best CCBA clone. This is much MUCH better than Amber Empire and definitely scratched the Blonde Amber itch. Being a Montale, it is definitely recommended to let out a few ml from the bottle and letting the air that replaces it mature the juice inside for 2-4 weeks before it starts to balance out. The scents from this house rarely smell right fresh out of a new bottle. That's really a shame as Montale and Mancera are generally considered niche, but need the same process to balance out as cheap UAE clone frags. Fantastic value proposition, quality and performance are both excellent and I have seen 100ml bottles selling for under $60. 93/100 well done, Pierre!

So lets address the Elephant in the room. The "Grape" nuance. I went & bought Sumac Spice in order to understand what I'm smelling here. I can assure anyone who says this is a Sumac forward fragrance that its not. Sumac doesnt smell like Grape. It has a Floral/Lemon scent thats somewhat Herbal, & Earthy. So where is this phantom "Grape" nuance coming from ??? First, there are more Spices at work than just Sumac & Cumin. I smell Saffron, Cardamom, Coriander, & dare I say Cinnamon. I also smell Resins. Frankincense, or Olibanum along with Myrrh, or Opoponax, & Amber. After spending an entire day discerning the notes, what I've come to realize I actually smell, is an Incense accord with a ton of Spices. Which in combination with its Citrus notes, Floral/Herbal/Earthy/Lemon nuances from the Sumac, Neroli-like nuances from the Orange Blossom, & its Dark Green, Earthy, Tobacco note, all work to create this "Grape Shisha" accord. BUT !!!!! Whats creating that "Grape" nuance ??? The "Grape" nuance is created by the aroma chemical "Methyl Anthranilate". Which is used to enhance the notes of Orange Blossom & Neroli. It gives off a sweet scent reminiscent of "Grape Soda". There are 2 different Oud accords in this fragrance. One smells like Wood thats Smoky/Ashy. The other smells like Crude Oil Soaked Wood. Both Oud notes play a supporting role to the overall theme of the fragrance, which is "Grape Shisha Tobacco". Upon its initial spray Oud Tobacco is Spicy, Sweet, Woody, & Fruity, with an Ashy Earthy Tobacco nuance. It smells like both the Shisha Tobacco, & its fragrant smoke. Its Middle Eastern influence is unmistakable. ... and while this fragrance can be worn year round as long as you're careful with how much you apply, I prefer to wear it in the Fall, because in the Cool Air its Spice notes are more apparent. Oud Tobacco is a strong beautiful fragrance, that in the right situation will smell very alluring. But, be mindful with how much you apply. Its a very strong fragrance.

I love Montale fragrances and I really appreciate their quality. But many of them are too much for me, too much wild. Oud tobacco is different, however. It is a very, very creamy fragrance, one could say civilized. I was expecting something that would devastate me, that would scratch my throat - although I really like the scratching of tobacco smell. Here, however, tobacco is delicate, as in high-quality cigarettes, which are very subtly sweetened with fruit and spices. It really is one of the better-balanced fragrances of this brand. There is some powder here, it comes from orange blossom in my opinion. And the oranges with other citrus fruits are also present, but in a very small dose. I don't know what sumac smells like, but maybe it is sumac that gives this creaminess and light woodiness - something like a very good sandawood distillate, which can even be buttery in its nature. I like that smell very much. It fits perfectly into the nostalgia of autumn, such as at the turn of October and November. Warms and wraps. But one thing is for sure, there is no oud here. I don't know where the idea for oud as an ingredient came from - if it isn't added. For me, cream tobacco would be a better name. Enjoy and savor this fragrance.

An absolutely lovely little fragrance. I blind-bought this one in the hopes of finding a replacement for Tom Ford Tobacco Oud (since it's been discontinued). While this is most definitely not that, I am pleasantly surprised by it. Initial notes I detect are big citrus notes, paired with the tart, syrupy and yet somehow dusty scent of Sumac and an underlying sense of smokiness. Something in this opener also reads chocolatey to me, causing the whole opener to feel like I'm smelling chocolate covered citrus fruits. This quickly softens to reveal a fresh, spicy heart that reminds me (like others) of grape soda or grape candy - the kind of dark, fizzy and fruity scent you'd associate with artificial grape flavoring. The smokiness of the opening becomes more refined and incense-y. Finally, I get the subtle warm glow of tobacco and tonka, making the base of this quite rich and gourmand. Sillage and projection are okay, it remains to be seen how long they will last, but will aim to check back in after a few hours.

Smells of the smoothest saffron with creamy tonka bean tobacco. The opening kinda reminded me of Versace Oud noir because of the citrusy saffron. Over time the fragrance shifts it's focus towards the tonka bean. Orange blossom is noticable as well. You basically get what is in the notes assuming the sumac smells like saffron (I never smelled that thing). As It's drying down I also get hints of cumin which reminds me of Spicebomb extreme. TLDR - It's very smooth saffron tobacco with creamy tonka bean drydown. I like this one much better to the Red Tobacco fragrance beacause Red Tobacco opens with really dirty oud and the fragrance smells rugged, only in the drydown the vanilla shines. This on the other hand is smooth from start to finish, the oud is a clear oud... more like in Versace Oud Noir. Ocassion - winter time, with elegant clothing, 100% unisex.

Oh this is the good stuff. A few thoughts...the tobacco note is definitely there. As someone who grew up stripping it, it's a smell you'll never forget. It's blended in well though, so I can understand why people may think it's not there. I don't get Oud at all. If it's there, it's just not strong - I don't have the most sensitive sense of smell. It opens with a fruity, spicy tobacco smell. The fruitiness dies down pretty quick, taking a background to the spices and tobacco. It's not anywhere as pungent as Red Tobacco, which is a good thing. I think it definitely leans masculine, but the right woman could pull it off. It is sweet, just as tobacco is, but I definitely don't think it's overly sweet, unless you find tobacco overly sweet smelling. Some of the reviews make it sound like this stuff is made of sugar and grape soda...

I LOVE this perfume as a women who bought it for herself to wear. Honestly it was just a random extra I bought because I know I like oud and tobbaco and I'm so glad I did. For me it smells sweet, but in a syrup/good quality incense kind of way. Maybe there is even some sort of fruit. At times I do find it smells like rum or flat cola as well, which I like. The tobacco scent is there but not showing up as much if I smell my skin directly. However I noticed that when I return to the room I initially sprayed it, I smell tobacco. However my favorite thing about this perfume is that it smells natural to me. I usually don't enjoy perfumes because they all have that dusty stereotypical perfume smell. This doesn't have that! It smells like it's made of real things, not chemicals (even if it isn't).

They had me in the first half! I wasn't sure if I liked it, but after a couple months and several good wearings, this is my take on Oud Tobacco: hours 1-2: definite grape soda opening that fades steadily into a citrus cherry tobacco. The touch of orange blossom is a genius "saving grace" here. hours 2-4: a sweet, juicy pipe tobacco dominates. it's beautiful as the citrus opening moves to the back and continues to settle. hours 4+: the above notes balance, and the oud finally makes its appearance! this is when the fragrance starts to work its magic. after 7-10 hours I LOVE IT! it took me a while to get past that grape opening, but it's worth it for that beautiful drydown. amazing how much this transforms and evolves. 9.5+/10 stick with it! the oud and orange blossom will not let you down!

This is definable going into my collection.Now I'm not trying to overhype this but it's phenomenal.To me it smells like a niche version and combination of these 3 fragrances and more beast mode. D&G The One EDP-as there is a freshness and amber comboPure Havane/Naxos-The Honeyed Tobacco effect,Paco Rabanne One Million Prive-as their is a smokey booziness with a hookah fruity tone,Blgvari-Man In Black-Due to the smooth creamy floral tobacco tonka combination. This is a masterpiece that's respected but deserves more hype truly a stunning beauty.Performance with this is beastly longevity and village is insane.If this was released by PDM,Initio,Roja,Xerjoff it would cost at least £250 up.Montale know how to make awesome cold weather/attention grabbing scents that's their forte.

This one is a sweater version of oud dream. First I found it a bit feminin but it still has a masculinr line in it. Performance is just great as always, I ve never been disappointed in Monatel until now. I feel a very few oud or even few tobacco , but something makes this one still very unique. There s a very interesting line between feminity and masculinity, whick makes it hard to decide. For me it is a really unique scent which probabl makes oud tobacco as fav or one of the fav of montale house. Till now I ve been love with oud dream and really a lot of people wanted to know what scent am I wearing, so let s see how does it work with oud tobacco. Generaly it is a unique and great scent, performance is excellent like I said as allways from Pierre Montale. For me 10/10.

Agree with a couple of reviewers below. I don’t get oud, but I do get a fantastic blend of tobacco (yes, it’s there), smoke, spice (all spice) and tonka bean. It’s a sweet tobacco scent, but not sickly sweet. In some respects, it reminds me of Maison Alhambra’s Hercules, except this scent is a lot more pronounced. There’s a faint vanilla in here, too (to my nose) which slightly reminds me of One Million Privé. The projection is fairly strong and it lasts bloody ages. So far, I’ve caught whiffs all day and I’ve had it on over 10 hours. 2-3 sprays max with this as I can imagine it’d be overpowering to some. My first Montale as I’ve been really picky after being turned off by a few samples. So, I’m avoiding the rose bombs. For now. Easily ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

this smell is very good... everyone can wear it !! in opening i got citrus and elegant and maybe peoples call it "Sumac" but i never smell before... also reminds me with aigner 2 man from 2007 very similar.... but more potent and more solid.. and also i got some grape soda vibes i can detect tobacco but in small portion around 15 minuets after first spray this is not potent Fragrance like a Red tobacco this quite soft in opening.. just like montales and mancare lines this longevity is good... some friends ask me how the longevity compare with red tobacco since they have similar names i dare to say... they are completely different.. but for longevity score i give red tobacco = 9.5/10 oud tobacco = 8/10

This is a really underrated fragrance. I don't like most Montale fragrances but this one is very nice. The name is misleading. It is not anything like TF Tobacco Oud as the Oud is just not that prominent in this one. Montale fragrances hav a tendency to be harsh and over done to me but this is such a smooth creation. The tobacco starts off strong but shortly takes a back seat and the fruit and spices take their turn. A beautiful fragrance. I like this more than both TF Tobacco Oud and Mancera Red Tobacco. Both of those are nice by the way and would be better if you just want a strong Tobacco scent. This is just more complex and wearable to me.

Bought this from Harrods. I absolutely love this fragrance. The presentation is great. The metal bottle protects the perfume from light and heat more than glass. And although it appears the bottle is half empty when you buy it, this simply has allowed the perfume to macerate. I’ve had this a week, I’ve had multiple compliments from women already from a couple of wears, however I would just say that I really enjoy wearing this myself and getting the wafts of this beautiful scent regularly. This is what you want to buy if you like Blonde Amber but can't stomach that insane price tag. Do not fall for the hype train with the BA clones, get this and thank me later. I have tried a handful of the BA dupes and nearly choked on all of them. Some of them get okay 30+ minutes in, but they all have an awful overly sweet grape opening. The opening of this is overly sweet too, but it settles down quickly into a nice incense scent. Oud Tobacco is absolutely beautiful and is well worth the price of entry, fantastic performance, extremely high quality. Good work, Montale!

#945 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. My first experience with sumac as a note, so I really can't identify it or what it adds to this scent. But everything in this scent is working for me, especially the incense and orange blossom which make this a sexier kind of masculine fragrance. The performance is really top of the curve here. Strong sillage (people standing six feet away picked it up), all day longevity. I wouldn't wear this in a car pool or in any tight space unless I went really light. But date night for sure. It's a buy for me.

I am happy to get some 40 ml, after a swap, since I had the surprise to find an oud which is not indolic - this is a rare thing. It is a cute perfume that can easily become signature, it goes well in all seasons. On the drydown it turns to a creamy vanilla (which are not listed). Also, my nose sniffs a note that comes very close to Baccarat Rouge 540, that iodine extract of saffron and leather (not listed, either). Bottom line: give this gem a chance, it has more to say than the sum of its ingredients. It is an incredibly well one, wearable oud.

Sexy, seductive, creamy Tobacco. Opens with a that unmistakable sumac note. I am Palestinian, and I always have sumac in my spice cabinet, so I can confirm. It is so unique and gorgeous from opening to finish. The sumac adds a middle eastern touch that puts this over the top for me. The dry down almost has a naxos vibe but less sweet and more Tobacco. Careful on the trigger with this one. I am a ridiculous oversprayer, and I will tell you right now that this can be headache inducing! No more than 8 sprays, and don't spray close to your nose!

Quite an unique fragrance. The opening is very spicy, citrusy and, although tobacco is listed as a base note, it's the strongest in the beginning 20-30 minutes. After it dries, the smell becomes a woody bubble-gum scent (from the tonka beans and the floral notes), and the tobacco drops down and becomes subtle, but still present. An absolute beast mode fragrance, projects very well, and holds on the skin 8+ hours (on the clothes even days) I blind bought this, and I have no regrets about it, a wonderful niche fragrance for beginner (like me)

I used to like mancera more over montale for a presentation and pressurised atomizer and magnetic caps. I had over 6-7 mancera and at the end i didin’t like it all of them i sold them all. So i blind bought montale honey aoud and it was a successful blind buy it was amazing and later i blind bought montale oud tobacco. I was scared of the name (Oud) and (tobacco) but its more beautiful than honey aoud both are amazing and for that reason now i believe montale is better and this oud tobacco is amazing and so strong

Mmm... this is goood! Well blended Montale! Sexy, cozy, warm, intriguing, addictive, yes. This, I feel, is one of the best creations by Montale. Someone here mentioned a grape hookah tobacco and grape soda - yes, I totally agree. Important to note - it's truly unisex - on my skin the creamy amber note is very prominent, however, on my boyfriends skin I can really sense the cumin and incense. Really surprised how good this actually is...got it for £55 for 100ml in a black friday deal and its smells amazing. Very easy to wear....nothing difficult or overpowering. I like Givenchy Ambree, Stronger with you tobacco, Naxos type fragrances and this slots right in the middle...its not the same but takes alittle from from them all. sweet with a faint tobacco and very smooth....I dont get much oud so if you dont like that fragrance, i would not let that stop you trying this...full bottle worthy.

A perfect choice for cold weather. It is called Oud Tobacco, but many people might think it would be a very heavy, animalic, and overpowering fragrance. I can say it is strong, but not in a way that disturbs people. The oud is well blended with citrus, tobacco, and tonka, which creates a very tasty and beautiful winter fragrance. Cold front hit Wisconsin these last couple of evenings and wore this for a date night with my wife and friends. It’s a shame I don’t reach for this as much but it’s hard to find the right situation. I think I may have a new signature summer date night frag!! Spicy and fruity with very minimal tobacco and no oud. It’s very linear. Longevity is 10+ hours. Up close it’s dank but in the air it’s magical. This drove my wife crazy and received multiple compliments. For the price, it’s great!! Cheers!

Love it. But I have to agree with the review below. The notes in the profile are all wrong. I get no tobacco and no oud strangely. This is almost identical to Pasha de Cartier. Lots of Patchouli and Sandalwood with a sweet vanilla. Its also very similar to Mercedes Benz Black, but not as sweet. If you like either of those, you'll love this. Performance is great. 8-12 hrs and pretty strong the majority of the way through. I got this for $68 on the discounters, so that's a steal for this quality.

Fairly new to fragrances, bought Cedrat Boise and it came with a sample of Oud Tobacco. The first time I sprayed it on I was immediately turned off, and I figured that I just wasn’t a fan of oud. I don’t know what was wrong with my nose that day. Just tried it again today and it smells absolutely amazing. Super smooth, smoky, woody and creamy oud. BEAST mode. My biggest projecting fragrance by far. Will be buying a bottle soon. Definitely a cold weather fragrance as it’s warm and fairly heavy.

I have over 20 Montale full bottles and I've sampled many more. This is one of my faves. I'm surprised more people don't mention the orange blossom because to my nose it's the central player here. Everything else kinda dances around the orange blossom, including the subtle tobacco leaf. We have reviews going off about grape soda, crushed children's vitamins and gawd knows what else. It's orange blossom, people. Suitable for any time of year with fewer sprays in warmer seasons.

This fragrance is my signature scent. I like the way it smells on my clothes the next day after I wear them. I like the opening of it on my skin and how long lasting it is. Projects so much that it fills a room during the first 2 or 3 hours. It’s pulled me compliments even hours after I first spray it though. Very versatile. Maybe wouldn’t be my first choice in the Summer but it’s still wearable in hotter weather. Good price too. I hope it’s never discontinued.

When I smelled it first, it was an instant love for me! The opening is a bit harsh and cloying, because it’s supersweet, but the drydown is phenomenal. I rather name it as Tonka Tobacco, than Oud Tobacco. I can’t smell any Oud in there, the tobacco and tonka bean with a hint of orange blossom and spices makes the perfect juice. Pretty good Christmas present from my girlfriend. Highly reccomend this to anyone, who loves smells like sweet & sexy.

This is my FAVOURITE fragrance. In the opening it is a bit citrusy, but sweet and spicy. Lasted for a month on a jacket that I wore. In the beginning I was getting rashes on the places I sprayed. Now it doesn't seem to happen anymore. These alergic reactions have happened to me before with other Pierre Montale creations(it was some mancera). Also I don't get any oud in it, if you like swy tobacco, 1 milion prive, you would like this aswell!

Fantastic fragrance. Slightly citrusy, and heavier on the spices, but mostly Oud and tobacco as the name insinuates. It’s sweet and ambery, with a slight smoky tone, but never goes too far in the sweet department. Very well composed fragrance. Masculine and Sensuel. Great evening out fragrance for bars or social events. Wouldn’t really wear this one casually. This one is made to dress up. Has a bit of class and sophistication to it.

Positive review of a very intriguing juice. Like the previous reviews this is in no way Oud Tobacco by TF. There is sweetness from the Tonka and I pick up spices and citrus. The tobacco is not as much in the forefront as I was hoping. Behind the citrus there is oud which gives the citrus a sour edge to my nose. Overall a very nice scent that lasts about 6 hours on my skin. DO NOT PAY FULL RETAIL lol... Try before you buy... Enjoy!

Well this smells super sweet and tobacco with a little bit of spiciness. The opening might be annoying but the dry down is sexy. Projects very well Longevity easy 8+ hours Leans more masculine for guys under 35 years old who are energetic and kinda ADHD it suits that kind of personality and aura. Disagree if you want but its work/school friendly. Excluding summer times. I will always keep one This is a solid 8.5/10.

Testing a sample from FragranceX. I'm amazed that the cumin in this works. Usually cannot stand cumin in scents...don't even like it in cooking. In this it's balanced. I can smell it, and it smells good. Update 2024 This has overtaken all my other fragrances for top spot. Its richness reminds me of baskets of incense and precious woods and spices. It's light, but a beast. Therapeutic. Boldifying. Calming. Sexy.

My first fragnance, which is why i like it so much. Awesome scent for beginners. Not so tobacco heavy like, for example, red tobacco by mancera, but also really tobacco heavy somehow, cant really explain. Nice sweet vanilla or caramel oud smell. This perfume sticks to my clothes the longest. Ski jackets ive worn last winter still have this smell on it. 8/10 for me, maybe for some ~7/10

Oud Tobacco is the perfect date night scent!. Smells a bit like a classy toothpaste in the opening, but the drydown is incredibly impressive. Women love this one on me.. especially in the evenings. One of my most complimented in my collection from both men and women. Scent 9/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 8/10 for first couple of hours then 7/10 after. Occasion- any evening of any season.

After testing it for a few weeks, I can say it's a solid release. It has a ton of tobacco and booziness with spice in the background. No noticeable oud. It has great staying power, and the projection is present but not overwhelming. This is Montale's version of Nishane's Fan Your Flames. Fan Your Flames has more density, but they really are hard to tell apart in the air.

To begin, I love this fragrance. The intense as fuck opening that smells synthetic and sweet as anything, the boozed up dry down, really, I enjoy it. But its funny to me because whenever I buy Montale perfumes I just gotta accept that the name never actually has anything to do with what the fragrance actually smells like. To me, this is what the colour red smells like.

Wow, beautiful fragrance, one of the long lasting scents I have tested. Once I went out a night with 5 sprays. The next day after 12 hours it was still projecting one arm length. The scent is beautiful citric, sweet, woody and floral. Beast mode. Unique. One of the best fragrances I have ever smelled. 10/10.

Montales masterpiece. This is in the top 3 for sure. Probably replaced Honey Aoud for #1. It’s extremely masculine and classy. It opens up citrusy, but dies down within minutes and becomes a clean woody tobacco but with a background of citrus. Amazing. This is not for casual dress attire, this is pure class.

It’s a nice creamy unisex scent. I don’t personally get neither tobacco nor oud accord. Potent and long lasting. 10+ Hours on skin, Days long on clothes. Sillage is also very good as like all Montale fragrances. It reminds me of Pasha de Cartier Parfum. Very well balanced and pleasant scent

Firstly, where tf is the oud in this?? It super sweet and not even close to being smoky or "harsh". Sweet citruses with silky vanilla and amber with a slight tobacco hint. Very resinous blend which actually puts those ingredients together nicely but I can see how some may find it too sweet.

First thing to know is that, as all Montale's, this is a hyper beast! Two sprays are enough to last you the whole day and more. More than two sprays and you might actually suffocate yourself and your family. Gorgeous, warm, slightly sweet. Not acrid but very smooth. Lean more masculine IMO

To be frank call them synthetic but Montale are one of the best when it comes to this category. Sweet Bold Loud Unique and attention getting scents.If you enjoy also their blends are intoxicating if you love One Million Prive and scents of that ilk you'll enjoy this

Batch 2021 - a not too sweet not to smoky not too ambery scent from Montale. A true compliment getter & lasting scent with a good projection power. Has bubblegum vibes in the beginning. Being a fan of tobacco scent, i think this is one of the best tobacco perfumes.

I really smell the Blonde Amber DNA. Sweet Amber fragrance but not overly sweet like Blessed Baraka for example which I find nauseating and causes me headache. Excellent longevity and sillage. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 8.5/10 Price: 10/10

Agree with someone review here that this is combination of Montale Oudmazing and Jacques Bogart Silver Scent !!!!!! This is sweet tobacco and monster longevity so far from new montale's lines... Don't over spray this loud and quite potent!!

Sure is underrated. Smelled it on someone and had to have it right away! The oud is not too much in here just pokes out a little in the background. Fruity for sure but not in a bad way. You can find this one for a really good price!

STUNNING ! Beautiful soft and sweet tobacco fragrance that performs , projects, has an amazing sillage ,and can be had for $70 at any discounter. Mind blown that this is my first Montale fragrance. 10/10 easily

Love at first smell! This is a “beastmode” scent! And it’s smells amazing. I get the citruses, and the incense. And that tonka smoothes out the Oud and tobacco. Dries down to a sweet tobacco. 9.5/10
