Rose Night

Earl grey and roses. It’s sophisticated, beautiful, and way more interesting now that I recognize it’s earl grey tea I’m smelling - I don’t get patchouli from this at all. The floral element reminds me more of the rose in Tea Rose than the rose in other Montales and Manceras. It’s less sweet than Roses Vanille, Intense Cafe, Intense Cafe Ristretto, or Arabians Tonka, but sweeter than Roses Musk or Roses Musk Intense. It gives me the impression of a serious writer getting down to business with her sonnets/thesis/next great novel/etc on a sunny day, getting cozy at her wrought iron bistro set on her balcony over the florist, brewing blooming tea in a lovely glass teapot. Also, the delivery guy probably has a crush on her, but assumes she’s way out of his league. She sure as sugar SMELLS out of his league.

I need to let it sit a few minutes on my skin so that I can really enjoy it. The first 10 minutes of this perfume hit really hard, too screetchy and loud. After that, it settles quite nicely and that's when the resemblance to Stella makes its debut and I love that. It's a very spot on alternative to our beloved Stella. More of a day time scent, not offensive at all, it's a beautifully done rose in here. I highly recommend this one.

Delicate rose petals .. refined and modern! Rose Night is a beautiful scent with a beautiful white musk that frames the rose... very beautiful also the amber that you feel a little in the distance. This parfum I like very much, has a delicate heart, is fashion and night, really nice! Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 10./10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

This is a dream come true for me! My signature scent is Stella Absolute and Stella EDP pre-2003. This smells almost like a dupe AND has great longevity. Perhaps now I can stop paying an arm and a leg for the discontinued Stellas! This is GREAT. I bought it blindly and am SO SO grateful. It literally smells just like Stella (original) to my nose.

Typical Montale's rose with patchouli. Maybe if I wasn't an owner of others, I would buy it. Strange, it wasn't heavy on my skin, but on blotter it's loud. I like it on the blotter more:)

The name is so misleading. This is a beautiful rose fragrance, but there's nothing nocturnal about it. It opens with a ton of rose, and stays that way. The musk+patchouli+amber base supports the rose throughout. This has great longevity and remains rather linear, which ok with me. It's a like, not a love, but it's a safe, easy reach for work or just on days when I'm feeling uninspired. I like this in spring, summer and fall, but IMO it's not a winter fragrance. Great for daytime but lacks a little oomph for evenings.

Wore this a couple of days ago side by side with Miss Dior EDP 2012, as I’ve noticed similarities. My husband definitely agreed and he said that it seemed brighter and he could notice more individual notes, whereas MD was more blended and a little warmer. However I think the vibe is extremely similar as they are both mostly rose/patch. I like them nearly equally but I think I’ll reach for MD a little more.

If you ever had and liked STELLA by STELLA mccartney then get this without second thoughts.. Beautiful in your face smell of CLEAN crystal ROSES .. paired with MUSK for amazing sense of freshness.. projects like crazy and it a beautiful scent. I like it!

I don't know if I got the right sample, but this smells more like some kind of tea fragrance (maybe Earl Grey) with some rose; it's fresh, citrusy, and soapy (almost lily of the valley -like)

UGHH what is this dirt?!?! Very promising opening, it does actually resemble Stella - beautiful rose petals and rose water. However the drydown is absolute dirt. The kind of gross funky musk found in a number of Montale/Mancera fragrances - smells cheap, nasty, and loud for the sake of it. It is SUCH a far cry from the opening notes that it is almost like I have sprayed a completely different perfume. Like how is it possible this morphed so much?

My first inkling to try Montale was after smelling Roses Musk on one of my customers. When I finally got my own bottle, I discovered to my dismay, it completely lacks any depth on my own skin: What I got was a fairly one-dimensional, fresh rose with green notes, and none of the jasmine or musk that was advertised. I tend to prefer dramatic florals enhanced by either musk or resins. As such, Rose Night delivers for me where Roses Musk failed. The rose note is very similar. Yes, it has that tell-tale, metallic chemical smell that most Montale's have when you first spray them and they are still wet. The first thing that comes across is a very fresh rose and a bright, white musk. As it dries down, the musk settles and warm amber emerges and blends beautifully with the rose. The patchouli, on my skin at least, remains a subtle presence. It seems to be there to ground the scent, rather than to declare itself loudly. This scent sits fairly close to my skin and does not scream, making it suitable even for summer. This one is a winner for me.

MONTALE ROSE NIGHT is a warm, elegant rose-patch fragrance that reminds me in the first stage of JULIETTE HAS A GUN LADY VENGEANCE. To me it seems that LADY VENGEANCE is more sharp with more individual notes to detect. I like both though. Funny enough I discover that I use ROSE NIGHT more for cosy evenings and grap for LADY VENGEANCE when I leave the house. Is it because of the word ' Night' ? Edit: MONTALE ROSE NIGHT is getting more and more interesting. It's not an indoor perfume to me anymore like it was before. It's lovely and elegant everywhere. Everybody should smell it, wherever you are. I really think that I got mislead by the word Night, but in the end it's the nose that speaks ofcourse.

I bought this blind having read the reviews here and I do like it! It’s not quite Chloe for me as some suggested and it’s not quite Stella but it is a similar ish mix of the two! I love rose scents and I enjoy wearing it. I love a BEAST perfume so I am a little disappointed that I can’t actually smell this perfume that clearly on me, however others can. I have had several compliments when wearing in the office. I think I’ll try Oud Night or Oud Black next to get the BEAST mode I’m looking for. However if you love rose scents then I don’t see how this could offend!

The next day on clothes, i ve been thinking: 'what is that smell, i am sure i smell a perfume that sits on my shelf too ' ........ Guess what! It's smells for 50% like Chloe Eau de toilette Chloe. They share the same sort of aura. To me Rose Night has more elegance and brightness though. I now understand better why it is called Rose Night. It's soft. Tender. But at some moments i wished it was a bit more naughty, 'bad '. 😉

Ok so I bought this after reading the "smells similar" profile. And yes. It does. But the first 10 mins are tricky. There is an oily, kerosene like accord that is challenging to ignore. I dont know what it is...but I do NOT like it. After 15/30 mins, it calms down and is more approachable. The "oily" bit is still there but not as offensive. I really like it. Its just not as fresh as Stella. I miss her.

This is a pretty, clean rose. The patchouli here makes it smell like tea which turns the freshness of the rose into a cozy scent. Not powdery, not fresh, this is a cozy rose. Smells clean and cozy. That’s the best I could say. Idk why they named it night though, this seems like a work appropriate fragrance to me. Very pretty and clean with a bit of earthiness.

Non sento nè patchouli nè ambra nè oud ma una semplice rosa "rosa", delicata e lineare. Carina ma non mi suscita emozione. Tonico rinfrescante Acqua alle Rose Roberts di lusso.

Very sublet rose note contaminated by the omnipresent Montale accord that is wet,salty and aoudish... very similar to Aoud Lime but much weaker. Sorry but no.

Smells like earl grey tea. Not what I was expecting but it's nice. It's fresh and comforting. Smells exactly like when you open the tin of earl grey.

The Rose is rich and succulent but a bit strong for me. The Amber scent is too strong and gives me a bit of a headache. Rating: 7/10, pass for me

I smelt this and instantly thought of Juliet has a gun - Miss Charming! Except Miss Charming has litchi notes.
