I love this perfume so much. I sprayed this on a cool raining day here on the east coast and it took me back to when I lived in Hawaii. This actually reminds me of the very first day when I moved to Hawaii. I remember it was raining and there was this clean but fruity air. This also reminds of me my drives past the Dole Plantation going to North Shore. Crazy how perfume can take you back in time. The pineapple is not strong if anyone is curious I would say it is a light airy pineapple. I get the vanilla and oud but it is not strong but just enough to provide support. I do not get leather at all. I am a girl but I think guys can pull this one off. I have yet to try this in the heat but I actually think this will work very well in the spring and summer. Lasting power is about 7 hours. I get whiffs of it throughout the day. This is not as strong as some of the other Montales. This is definitely office-friendly so you won't knock anyone out. Very pleasant scent!

Definitely feminine, I cannot picture a man pulling off this scent. When I first tried it I hated it because of the harsh opening but now I just adore it! At the beginning really strong citrus smell, I can smell passion fruit as well and I didn't like the opening at first because it smells a bit like vitamin c pills. after a minute or so you can smell a faint oud, scent that I despise, but surprisingly I don't mind it at all in this perfume. as the citrusy-vitaminey smell slowly calms down, I can smell the bulgarian rose, the predominant scent in this mixture. After some time it develops into this warm and sweet scent that just calms me down and that fills up the room. The rose is definitely predominant, but I don't think it overtakes everything else, especially the base notes.

This is absolutely fantastic 👏🏿 it is a unique year round juicy fresh fruity but substantial oriental dense scent.It changes and morphes depending on the climate it is worn in in the summer it's musky laundy like clean tropical fruity and woody.In the autumn and winter the oud rose leather and vanilla pop out more with a touch of spiciness from an unlisted saffron. which likely contributes to the leather too this is a unique year round banger and imo is half of the inspiration of Oud Maracuja. However this is a better buy due to prive versatility and the price very well blended and put together ❤️

Wow. Being constantly disappointed with traditionally insipid summer scents for men I thought I'd veer away from the usual overpriced citrus formulas this season. I bought this, along with Aoud Lagoon. And how happy I am. I quite enjoy some feminine-leaning fragrances, and I find this and many others to work in concert with my skin so much better than a lazy, formulaic aquatic etc. So much more depth and complexity within floral fragrances...Very impressed. I got pleasant whiffs all day long with this, and several compliments to boot. Florals are the new citruses!

Tropical Wood is a unique offering with exotic vibes thanks to the Malaysian Oud which is rich, smooth and blends *beautifully* with the bergamot, passionfruit & pineapple. The floral mid notes float around for a bit (especially the violet) eventually melting into the sultry confident leathery musk sprinkled with hints of vanilla. another solid LOVE from the house Montale.

I enjoy this fragrance, has a very nice opening and it smells super sweet to me, not sure if I agree with all that says or put a box to it or a title saying its "feminine" or "no guys can pull this off" I put this on, got a lot of compliments. Love what you wear.....to much boxing, putting on titles on things etc.....love and live life. This is a great fragrance !

All I smell on my skin is musk and oud. But an approachable version of oud. I really love this! I had a small sample and used it every day for a week. My boyfriend, who hates sweet / gourmand fragrances, kept asking what I was wearing. Finally, he bought me a full bottle as a gift.

Pretty unique with the combined oud and tropical vibes. Some would say it leans a bit feminine but I believe the oud offset the femininity in a way. Wonderful for breezy summer evenings. I really really like this one and don't understand the low rating.

Fruity violet a lil pungent but not too much like deep forest by Sister company mancera. Has a fresh clean laundry type of vibe. I dig it deff not as mass appealing as I thought it would be which is a good thing haha!

This fragrance and brown by ahmed al maghribi ( suggest you to try them out have some good frags last even longer than mancera and montale ) smell almost identical both have that clean laundry vibe going on love em

This is simply stunning and rated to low imo a tropical punchy fruity rose oud that's fresh enough to be worn through all seasons.Many say its feminine but as a straight man I'd be more than confident wearing this.

A 3.47 on this? Really? This is way better than 3.47. It should be 4.2 or 4.3. It's not all that oud heavy. Definitely get a medley of fruits. Performance is above average but moderate for a montale. 9/10.

Was a blind buy but I totally love it .. a very beautiful fruity fragrance .. but I barely smell pineapple or leather .. the dry down is a bit feminine .. more than 12 hours on my skin .. its a hidden gem

Magical! Very long lasting and potent!

Montale Tropical Wood opens with an intense projection of sweet fruits, oud, and floral accords. The opening is delectable, fresh, inviting, elegant, and intense. The opening favors the fruits, bergamot, passionfruit, and pineapple, they are distinctive from each other, sharp, and delectable. The oud has a noticeable start, it is prominent, somehow pungent. Both, the roses and violets combine and add their fragrant, powdery, and delicate accords, they are equally prominent. The bergamot is short-lived, this sharp and citrusy accord subsides very quickly after the initial application, but it will be reignited later on by a very fresh and lemony white musk. The pineapple losses some of its initial intensity as well, leaving behind the passionfruit which continues to be very noticeable, sour-sweet, and delectable. As the fragrance commences to dry down, the white musk enters the blend in the form of a strong, fresh, lemony, and powdery accord that boosts projection but smooths out all other notes. The leather and vanilla which are described as base notes, are just a faint supporting touch. Most of the sweetness of the fragrance comes from the fruits and rose. At this point, the oud relaxes blending in an equal oud, fruity and floral triangle. Tropical Wood is a very easy to wear Oud..nice for people who like Oud but don't want it too earthy. TO is fruits & Oud with a peekaboo of rose in the bg.. starts a bit sharp but quickly settles to have that nice slight powder touch to it. I'm on the hunt for a new Montale beings I love their scents & the longevity they pack. I thought I had a winner here I liked it at first with everything I just stated but found out to be a bit more floral then I would have liked; also couple comments from friends saying it's nice but it remind me of my mom or smells like an old lady put me off..lol I mean who cares what they think but still want to be able to enjoy it & feel like it suits me. So hunt continues, but still very nice pretty scent worth looking into. :) *Update* Decided I like this & kept my bottle layered with B&BW at the beach lotion really helps tone the florals down & the combo is gorgeous! :D

Tropical Woods is, in my opinon, more floral than woodsy. It's bright, clean zesty, floral and quite feminine. This fragrance calls to mind sartorial ensembles of white or pastel hued linen or other summer weight suits or dresses complete with wide brimmed straw hats. Or fresh laundry drying on the line and billowing in a soft breeze. Breezy. Yes! it reminds me of the smell of laundry tumbling in the dryer. The fragrant plumes given off by the dryer vent that waft in through your windows on a sunny summer morning. Clean, powdery freshness and sunshine. 🌞🌹🌸😎

This is a wonderful fruity wood, that starts as a very "tart" fragrant pineapple and passionfruit combo with the freshness of the bergamot wafting through. The oud is ever-present, it is deep and rich - over all that note really anchors the scent. Tropical wood is unisex in my opinion (though I feel like many women wouldn't really reach for it). It has a very summer feel to it, but I think it would be best enjoyed in springtime as a run-up to summer making the anticipation of a holiday a lot easier while you are stuck working.

This is magic! A unique fragrance in his genre. First, when sprayed, it's a mix of Oud, leather, Rose and tropical fruits....Amazing. Quite loud:) then it evolved in a rose/pineapple scent with a violet and little bit powdery but tolerable. Slightly feminine, but Ilike it, so I wear it this is a projection beast... or 2 sprays is enough at least 8 hrs of longevity Spring and summer, Casual, and formal events. Office (forget that) Compliments factor: this one has good potential If I can give a rating. a good 8/10:)

I get a pineapple jam impression right after spraying, followed by an oudy note. I also smell the passionfruit and its tanginess, but it smells a bit off in combination with that woody note. Once the top notes settle, powdery and musky notes take over. Luckily, they are not as sharp as in some other Montale creations. The leather stays behind that veil of musk and powder throughout the drydown. Longevity is really good, even on skin where I still perceive a light muskiness after 10 hours.

Got it few days ago. It's a monster! I sprayed it on a handkerchief and put it in a bag. Although I got it out after half an hour it still smells when I open the bag! I had to wash my wrists several times to get it off my skin. But I love it! I can smell pineapple and passionfruit, a bit of violet, OUD and a sniff of leather. And none of the notes wears off. I don't get that rose at all. Very cheerful perfume which I will use for the years to come (that bottle will last forever😄)

Just got myself a sample of this one. My first impression is that I am disappointed. When I sprayed it I was expecting a fruity scent with pineapple and passion fruit as the dominant notes but unfortunately, the rose is the dominant note. And at the first scent, it is noticiable that it is a feminine fragrance. So much for my hype :(

I like It, maybe a Little bit feminine but versatile, all season, well crafted and balanced, nothing too tropical or sweet. Edit: After 4 hours I have to Say that I like It a lot, It became more flowery and clean, I don't get leather so I think It's a good option for summer. Worth a try even for a man

Deff interested in sampling this, loving the bottle coloration && the notes sound interesting (few of my favs. vanilla, violet, fruity tones & powdery) all a plus! Just hope the leather doesn't completely dominate everything, hopefully Luckyscent will acquire this to obtain a sample. :)

Quite nice scent with strong sillage and good longevity. I would not wear it during hot days because of its heavyness. Another thing you should know before blind buy-it smells definitely feminine. There is much better fragnances for this price, but worth to try.

It’s a nice “clean” scent for a woody floral. It does remind me of the smell of a coconut shell, not the white pulp but the actual woodsy shell. It’s a casual, easy to wear and lasts all day. Totally unisex.

A woody/oudy fragrance that is more floral than it is woody. The composition is not necessarily unique, but I actually prefer it to many other woody ones from Montale. No wrong in not being a try hard.

Finally someone created a fragrance with two of my favourite fruits: pineapple and passionfruit. I just hope I can get to try this one :D

#957 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is a nice scent. Floral. Slightly fruity. The passionfruit definitely adds something I like. But the Bulgarian rose is a bit much for me as it often is. Too feminine for me. Doesn't quite cross the line into grandma juice, but dances on the edge. I'm going to look around for a scent that has these same notes without the rose. Having lunch with a girlfriend today. I'll give this to her, but I bet she gives it to her mom.

This fragrance is very unique, it has a really nice opening but as it dries down it becomes a bit too sweet in my opinion. It also can give some headaches. The rose is the note that stands out the most and the pineapple is also present. The passion fruit isn t really there.It is a strong summer scent that can resist the heat. I give it an 7/10.

In the initial spray, you pick up on the fruits but they fade fast. More woodsy perfume than fruity and totally get the "fresh laundry" vibe from this. 6/10, it's pleasant but I don't like perfumes that give me fabric softener vibes. Quite floral and not that heavy. Think in general that people like this. It's non-offending.

This smells like one of those shops where they sell new age stuff like crystals, incense & tarot cards. My guy sprayed it once on his chest and a really loved it. That one spray filled our whole house. This scent as a candle in a bohemian style home would be perfect.

I initially liked it, but as it neared the heart notes (10 mins) it started smelling like baby wipes. That put me off from buying it despite the attractive price and performance ratings.

I wish this didn't have violet/powderiness cuz i love the opening :(

I'd wear this at night while on vacation

'Tropical Wood'....not the right name for this fragrance. I feel a bit mislead from the votes/some reviews, because from first spray all I get is another version of Montale's 'Black Aoud' or 'Oudmazing'. The opening is so BEAUTIFUL: It's juicy passionfruit, citrusy pineapple-like fruits...however they quickly die down. Within a MINUTE the same bitter, powdery oud in 'Black Aoud' & 'Black Aoud Intense' and powdery rose/violet overpower EVERYTHING. Fruits are completely gone from there.... The drydown is a weighted laundry-musk, which is pleasant but isn't anything you haven't smelled before. POSITIVES: This is NOT a sweet perfume, smells classy/expensive and lasts a LONG time. However....It's a powdery, very bitter rose/violet and oud combo. It's far too heavy to wear in heat and spring. Name is extremely misleading & should be called 'Black Aoud v2.0' / 'Oudmazing v2.0' DO NOT BLIND BUY. There are far better frags from Montale, Highly disappointed.

First impression. This is STRONG. Like directly inhaling a bouquet of flowers and hand soap. This is extremely floral and powdery and extremely "old-lady-like". I would say this is the most feminine "uni-sex" scent I've tried and, although I enjoy as a man I do enjoy more floral/unisex scents, this would certainly not possible for me to wear. I waited for the dry down to see if it changes/softens at all. I would say it does settle down a bit, but it's still almost obnoxiously floral and powdery. I don't like to be overly harsh, but judging this as a unisex scent from a men's perspective, this just does not work for men and it not particularly nice smelling. Also, this scent should probably be called Grandma's Lipstick, not Tropical Wood. 5/10 for me. I've obviously smelled worse, but there are just so many better floral scents to choose from, many of which are truly unisex.

I was finally able to obtain a sample of this. EXTREMELY feminine to me. At first all I get is roses with a fruity sweet backing. One spray made the entire house smell; in fact, when my wife came home she asked if I had anyone over. ...I assume she meant any females =P lol. I told her no, and let her smell my wrist to which she kind of chuckled, remarking toward its feminine smell. After some time, the woodiness comes forth and honestly reminds me of a toned down, "for ladies" version of Black Aoud. Not nearly as relentless as Black Aoud but it will last just as long, which is a LONG time. Kinda bummed, I was hoping for less rose! --Sure, rose is in the heart notes, but it's a heart-note in Creed Aventus too, and rose doesn't overtake everything in Aventus like it does here. Just Too.Much.Rose.

This is really a nice fresh musky woody fragrance. I mainly get the zesty fruits bergamot and rose violet initially with the fruits and in the base oud and musk i barely smell vanilla but I haven’t experienced the full dry down except spraying it on the box earlier. I do think like the title says it’s a fruity woody scent but unfortunately had to wash it off as I got hives from it so I can’t speak for the longevity so much I can still smell it even though I washed it off (only spray my wrist once) so I think this will last well. I can also smell it from across my room when i had sprayed the box once so it’s definitely 6ft projection

I can describe this perfume very simple. Imagine that you put a dish with rice on fireplace and when it is boiling you add too much rose into it, This scent is very similar to this perfume. .... یه بوی قوی رز به همراه ته بوی برنج پخته میده. یه بویی شبیه به برنجی که روی اجاق در حال پختن هست و لبه های خیلی تیز و کشنده ای داره؛ توصیفی هست که من از این عطر دارم

Long lasting, cheap smelling garbage of extremely poor quality. That this would have vanilla from Madagascar (or any natural vanilla for that matter) is laughable. For those who think the synthetic smelling shower gels of Rituals and the like are too fancy.

This is a strong and very harsh feminine scent. No oud here. It's a fruity/floral bomb.

I didnt get the zing of the passionfruit, and it’s was kind of powdery. Not for me

I get the usual oud/ rose combo. A tamed version of Dark Aoud. Not for me.
